my biggest issue with “new normal” type strategies to handling crisis is that no one is going to actually do what they need to do to adapt they’re just going to keep doing the same thing they were already doing and pretend the problem doesn’t exist because it’s more beneficial to corporate interests if we do so. and as we all know we are NOT immune to propaganda

#i saw the wind forecast and made a go bag with all of my important documents before anything even happened and people said i was acting +#crazy. less than 24 hours later we evacuated.#i have a feeling we’re going to start dealing with ca fires as if it were ‘hurricane season’ and be encouraged to pack our things if we see #*see winds picking up. but no one will be given the grace to actually do so we’ll still have to go into work and put ourselves in harm’s way #because god forbid jeff bezos not be able to collect more money and biometric data from people who are opting into the increasingly-prevalen #*prevalent ‘pay with your palm’ system #sorry. if you know me you know that this is how i deal with stress and By Golly Am I Stressed.
