I wish fandom was more accepting of the real-life fact that sometimes people have relationships and then separate for a variety of reasons, many of which are amicable
There are a lot of ships that I would like if it wasn’t for the fact that there’s almost always this heavy implication of “these two characters are in a relationship and therefore will be together forever and if they DO break up it’s for story drama and they’ll get back together”
I’m not a multishipper (nothing against people who are!) but I AM a “these two would have a great dynamic and probably even be positive for each other for like three months and then kill each other” shipper and for some reason 90% of fans in any given fandom act like the idea of characters being together temporarily and then breaking up and not hating each other after is completely impossible or, in the very least, A Bad Thing
But I’ve been verbally crucified for “misleading and tricking people” by having characters in a ship break up and get into a different relationship, and like… it’s not misleading? It’s just a thing that happens sometimes?
