Writing a particular fic for a year as a self-indulgence treat is wild. Even while editing it, I'm realizing how big it is. Because I don't just have a typical canonxoc story to tell (not that any of the stories out there are typical, everyone does so amazing with what they write), but mine feels so strange as I write/edit it.

Like, the romance between Sophie and Donnie feels almost like a subplot to the entire story I'm trying to tell? As I'm editing it, I'm hoping to make it more prominent and to have the other part of the story more of a subplot, but it's hard.

Because this isn't just them falling in love and other things. This story 100% got out of hand. I had no intention of doing that BUT IT HAPPENED. It was legit supposed to be a reader-insert story. Sophie really did show up and make herself known with her family. I'm still editing and I'm trying to at least get a few chapters for posting, but this is the word count for each chapter before editing:

With the edits, obviously some chapters are being cut down, but it's insane what I've written since September. And all the characters aren't even fully fleshed out? There are still some things I want to make pretty important for the future versions of the main characters, but I still also have to flesh out Sophie's family? I've been working on them, because if they're going to be important to Sophie, I don't want them to just be smushed together randomly. I have six characters for me to flesh out for her family and I already completed one, but I also have to flesh out the BEBG???

And I'm there! I'm so there and I'm doing my best. I have time to complete it, but it's hard when I just wanna doodle cute Sophie and Donnie moments.

But I definitely promise myself to this story to get things fleshed out before I start posting these chapters or get too far in editing. ♥
