They alternate between joining wife club, husband's bonding time, and just fucking off to do their own thing in town those nights

Thought I was the only one who saw it this way. That they aren’t romantically involved. Until it’s canon for me it’s not.

I'm not surprised by the line between allo fans and arospec fans re: Laudna and Imogen but I am disappointed.

Arospec fans: laudna coming on the heels of Ashton saying love is hard to define and saying she's never been IN love, then qualifying that she deeply loves Imogen before taking time to consider what love she might be talking about and how it IS defined, really, was such a cool moment because there are so many ways to love and it's not something people often think to examine as a phenomenon. I love that Laudna loves Imogen and puts thought into how when it comes up. I'll be excited to see what she discovers.

... No? Nothing was confirmed except what we already knew, which is that they do in fact love each other and we don't have a clear metric for in what way. And we may not get one - it might not be something they're interested in defining. They've very specifically had so many opportunities to make this explicitly romantic and/or sexual and they haven't. No, things don't have to be overt to fall under that category, quiet intimacy is a thing. We know. But I'm starting to see more of the aphobic rhetoric about how it's been cleared up and ignoring it is wilful ignorance and I'm telling you, knock that shit off. Not only is interpretation still up in the air, you don't decide what value people find in media or where they see themselves. Viewing them as a romantic couple in the sense we're used to is absolutely your prerogative but the opposite is also true for aro/aspec folks starving for rep. Those two being queerplatonic would go such a long way in illustrating exactly why it's not and never has been the same thing as "just friends," which is what exclusionists like to snark when it's explained. "Oh you mean friends?" No.

Even if they wind up not being qpps and move into a more traditional relationship, what they've got now resonates with a huge swath of an underrepresented and overlooked community. It already matters. Believe what you want, but don't be out there spreading harmful rhetoric about "well if you can't see it you're blind or bigoted." That's not how this works.
