Hi. To be honest, the response to that Batter drawing was quite overwhelming. It was not made with erotica in mind, but it's a fair interpretation.
Now, my passion for OFF feels a tad wilted, and alike with a dead flower, I cannot seem to revive it. I'm happy so many people gathered a liking for the piece, but I don't think I can supply it further. Seems my own passions have escaped me without my knowledge and have seeped into the fabric of my work. Cool! Kinda nice how so many enjoy this little niche of gore, though.
To answer a few asks, I'm distantly excited for the steam release of the game, and I predict it will be a very good experience, new and changed as it is. Mortis Ghost's artistic vision has absolutely changed and grown with him, and I wish to see this new view applied onto the game. Will play, hopefully.
But I don't know how many OFF drawings I will be making, let alone posting. I feel spent, burnt, and a little bit soggy, haha. So, sorry! ❤️

Note
not a desert technically but I just visited the dunes in Monterey and gleefully trampled on some ice plant and I feel like you might enjoy that. if you wanna talk about the kinds of vegetation that grow in sandy soil or something I invite you to 👀
(also you're doing it! you're surviving! you'll get through that doctorate!)
ok ready this is my most important soapbox of all because soils in the desert are very special and have such cool organisms you don't find in these arrangements outside of drylands...
first lookee here. wauw beautiful utah
Tumblr media
ok now look closer
Tumblr media
no closer closer closer
Tumblr media
CLOSER CLOSER CLOSER
Tumblr media
WOW is that MOSS? you are thinking. the answer is YES. but doesn't moss like lots of water you are thinking??? WELL USUALLY. BUT in the desert you will notice that things like grasses and shrubs have lots of space between them unlike in more temperate climates-vegetation cover is not truly continuous. And there's less leaf litter than in forests obscuring the dirt. Which means all that soil is just sitting out in the open with nothing to protect it from being blown away by those harsh desert winds... except of course for our friends the BIOLOGICAL SOIL CRUSTS. also known as crypotbiotic soils, cryptogrammic soils, and biocrusts (for short).
These are communities of mosses, lichens, cyanobacteria (aka blue green algae--yes, those are usually Wet too, but ironically so so common in deserts), and the tens of thousands of surface and subsurface microbes that are associated with them. It's easy to forget just how many organisms are living in one single scoop of soil, especially because science can barely identify 1% of these microbes. Like of JUST the ones we have enough info to classify enough to count in my own master's dataset left me with over 25,000 unique taxonomic units I had to manage. don't worry about what that means just know it was very annoying and makes statistics a headache. anyway you find them all over the southwest US states as well as in other deserts around the world (spain, australia, sooo many in china, incredible ones in the succulent karoo in south africa/namibia, plenty in argentina etc etc), if you know where to look...
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
anyway OUR HEROS THE BIOCRUST aren't just there to look pretty (though you will can see from photos they also do this :) ), but are a vital component to the dryland ecosystem! They literally hold the soil surface together to prevent erosion, they influence hydrology in terms of rainfall runoff + infiltration, they impact how seeds germinate, they contribute to nutrient cycling and what plant-available compounds are held at the soil surface... like i feel like Tumblr in general has been made aware of how fungi & root networks interact in large scale systems like forests, but that is also happening on a more microscopic level in deserts! just in the top couple centimeters soooo much is happening. Cyanobacteria in particular are tiny organisms that produce little nets of sugars woven in the soil to climb around on and protect themselves, and if you crumble a little bit of soil from the surface you can see how the little spiderweb strings literally hold together the sand particles.
Now that you're Aware of biocrusts, when you look at larger scale landscape photos taken in un-trampled areas of desert, you will notice them as darker patches and textures on the lighter soil:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yep there's these tiny little communities all over, that many people never learn to see. And now what I said before about mosses & cyanobacteria usually preferring wet environments--they have in fact adapted to life in the desert in ways that means they're dormant for most of the year. They live in stasis until the rainy season hits (or in some cases, winter moisture from a snow layer--many will photosynthesize through a few inches of snow since it's clear/white), and then burst into color and life. Many patches of biocrust will look utterly lifeless and dried out at first and then become vibrant and swell up within a few minutes of being exposed to moisture. Lichens, while more vibrant even when dry, will also mostly only grow/reproduce while wet. And biocrusts come in all sorts of colors, shapes, and preferred microhabitats!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
anyway this post is long enough already so i'll be quick. while beautiful and important as you can imagine these are FRAGILE. if they get trampled too much, by humans or cows or cars, that's it. you're back to bare soil that can blow away whenever it wants.
I was lucky to get to participate in a 2x/year survey of one of the very few places in Utah to NEVER have cattle grazing or development, a remote area the entrance is kept secret to inside Canyonlands National Park, where you can see just how dense and lush biocrusts once could be in the US southwest:
Tumblr media
ah... glorious. what special little guys. this is why if you visit many of the national parks in Utah you will see signs & stickers around with slogans like "Don't Bust The Crust" and "Tiptoe Through The Crypto" and etc. so heed that advice but DO stop and kneel down and get a better look at them!

2024 is the year where I got a job at a library (huzzah!!!) which meant that I read a lot. and a lot of that was from previous years! so here's my top 10 not of 2024 list, which is 40% books.
(end of year top 10 tag)
a wizard of earthsea (ursula k. le guin, 1968): I can't believe I've never read these books. I love le guin's writing, and excellent podcast "shelved by genre" reading these was a good incentive for me to actually get off my ass and read a bunch of le guin. her book of poetry from 2017 was almost on this list as well, beautiful and funny and old. going to go after more this year!
the seventh seal (dir. ingmar bergman, 1957): did you know that one of the classics of cinema is really good? also really funny? so go play chess with death and think about the end of all things
scavengers reign (joseph bennett and charles huettner, hbomax, 2023): this show made me weep. beautifully haunting and hauntingly beautiful, a scifi story that could be a cosmic horror if you forget that even the horrors are part of a greater ecosystem, and sometimes the horrors are not unknowable but merely unknown and strange. I still think about this show, and probably will for the rest of my life. best show of the decade so far.
look back (fujimoto tatsuki, 2021): putting the manga over the (also exceptional) ova because I think fujimoto's overall artistry hit just a bit harder. a story about the reasons we make art, and the companionship in finding another weirdo to make art with, and how we move on while looking back at what inspired us
a visit to san sibilia (peter eijk, 2021): I tried to play a few solo/journaling rpgs this year, and san sibilia was my favorite. also has a great playlist!
true detective s1 (showrunner nic pizzolatto, hbo, 2014): watched this after finishing aw2 and in the run-up to "night country" (also good, better in retrospect than I gave it credit for at the time), and this classic of Two Weird Dude Cops Coping Poorly with Manhood is excellent television. still bummed it wasn't as paranormal as it could have been, but them's the breaks.
"COUNTER/weight" (friends at the table, 2015-2016): come for the mecha rpg, gorgeous worldbuilding with millennia-old robots and sociopolitical intrigue, and the mashup of space/cyberpunk/giant robot anime; stay for aria joy scoring girls by failing super duper hard. also giant tarps.
gris (nomada studio, 2018): both the game and the ost, so I'm cheating here for a top 10. a story about grief and mourning and song and color, up there with scavengers reign for most beautiful thing I experienced this year.
palestine (joe sacco, 1991-1992): sacco's graphic journalism of his time in palestine during 1991 and 1992 is both of its time (specifically right after the first intifada, with ongoing riots and imprisonment and interviews with palestinians of all backgrounds) and imminently timely (given the ongoing genocide in gaza and israel's occupation of palestine). it's a hard project to read, but invaluable for being incredibly humanizing, and humbling, and necessary. sacco's upcoming collaboration with art "maus" spiegelman is going to be one of my most anticipated comics.
a memory called empire (arkady martine, 2019): do you like political intrigue space operas? do you like murder mysteries? do you like future cities heavily influenced by byzantium and the aztec empires? how about language, linguistics, and the reaches of empire? wait, this is tumblr. do you like messy gays? if so, have I got the book for you! (also the sequel, a desolation called peace, is fantastic, so you've got TWO books in one recommendation! aha, I cheat again at top 10 lists!)

EXCITING NEWS, SECRETS SHARED
Hello!! It is time for me to officially post the first two chapters of my first ever multi-chapter fanfiction story, The Incongruence of Stars and Flowers!!!
So far the word count has reached over 8,000 words, roughly 21 pages at 1.15 spacing (including the current WIP of Chapter Three). This was a huge challenge for me that I am so glad to have started. I'd been keeping this (mostly) a secret for many months during a collaborative creative process.
It started when I saw an application for Sonic Big Bang 2024 zine on Tumblr. Around 300 participants of fellow writers, artists and readers were sorted into secret groups of 2-4ish for developing writing and artwork surrounding story submissions! I had the pleasure of being paired with wonderful artists who made beautiful sketches, concept art, and illustrations based on my writing, linked here: @major-wren (ART) (ART) and @pastelspindash (ART)
Go check out their awesome art (and writing) as well as all the other amazing creatives featured in the zine on the official blog page @sthbigbang! My awesome and very helpful beta readers were/are @starredfishing (Tumblr) and @zaffretension (Instagram) who gave me excellent advice about dialogue, pacing, and plot. THANK YOU!!!
And also a big THANK YOU to the moderators of this expansive event for keeping it running so smoothly, for organizing everything, and for encouraging all of us in one of the most supportive and energizing creative environments I've ever been apart of!!! I have talked to many cool and talented people and I love the community that we have all been growing as a massive group.
I am excited to continue the adventure of learning, reading, and writing to see where this adventure goes with familiar characters. If you are too, I hope you enjoy <3
Without further ado, below is the summary for The Incongruence of Stars and Flowers.
This alternate universe combines the vibrant world and history of Sonic the Hedgehog with our very own, resulting in a version of Planet Mobius that’s both familiar and distant. Yet, this altered reality is neither idealized nor greater than the sum of its parts.
Anthropomorphic beings, humans, and animals of Mobius are struggling to rebuild their cityscapes, ecosystems, communities, and personal lives in the wake of the cumulative devastation of the Perfect Chaos Flood and the Black Arms Invasion. Shadow the Hedgehog takes a leave of absence from G.U.N. to temporarily settle down in Station Square, laying low after the world-shattering encounter with his alien DNA donor Black Doom. While the cityfolk around him undergo the growing pains of instability, nonconformity, sociological upheaval, and corruption, so too does the alien hybrid. With the support of unyielding friendship in aloof activist Sonic the Hedgehog and cultured confidante Rouge the Bat, Shadow coasts in this new life chapter while feeling profound pulls to unravel memories surrounding his loving creator, Professor Gerald Robotnik and solve mysteries within his environment, mind, and body.
Past and present perspectives interweave to show slices of unordinary lives, drawing from early-to-mid 2000s culture shifts/natural disasters/political tensions, U.S. and European history, and various fields of science as inspiration for this multi-chapter science-fiction drama mystery.
PROMINENT CHARACTERS:
Shadow the Hedgehog, Sonic the Hedgehog, Rouge the Bat, Professor Gerald Robotnik, Maria Robotnik, Black Doom(?), Commander Abraham Tower, Helen (from Sonic X)?, and new original character(s)
Body dysmorphia and dysphoria, racism/speciesism, internalized xenophobia, mentions and possible depictions of police violence, generational trauma, trauma and imagery from medicalized settings, processing grief
TRIGGER WARNINGS:

Five 1-season series I watched recently, and why I recommend them/liked them:
Lessons in Chemistry
About the trials and tribulations of a woman who both fails and refuses to conform to the expectations of 50s-60s USA. The show is primarily character-driven and works on a rather… somewhat simplified and exagerrated mindset? It took me offguard at first, but was fine once I settled into the groove. My favorite part was, as I later found out, an addition for the show (compared to the book, which I haven’t read) → the neighbor being a black woman fighting for civil rights. There’s that one chunk that mixes the psychological/personal aspect of getting involved with the socio-political reality of asymmetrical struggles and I… loved how clever that was… I’ll be honest, in that the show is mostly a sort of drama/character exploration and the political painting part of it is secondary. But I mean, the drama is good, I bawled my eyes out a bunch of times, and it’s visually compelling. The protagonist reads somewhat as a modern woman dropped into the fifties and her relentlessness is actually refreshing. It’s a power fantasy in that sense – watching someone smart, fully confident in her own abilities, and what she’s worth, and owed… It’s nice. Just so that we’re clear – this show is the one I’m least confident pitching, because it’s odd in many ways and questionable in some – but I really enjoyed it and I won’t lie about that. I thought it was very good on the moment hahahaha
So give it a go if it intrigues you!! and come chat with me about the neighborhood subplots.
Cherry Magic (anime version)
About an unremarkable salaryman who starts being able to read others’ thoughts because he’s a 30 y/o virgin – but really, it’s actually about someone finding both love and confidence in himself. This is so, so sweet. Pretty funny, too. For all the silliness of the premise, the more profound core of the story is very nicely-wrought, it’s painted with a delicate touch and subtle hues. There are aspects of it that I think will hit harder if you are not a child anymore. I think I would have enjoyed it when I was sixteen, but probably not as much as I did being a worn-out adult, lol. I binged it while I was insomniac with dread, and it made me laugh like a teenager. It’s sincerely very fucking great and if you enjoy romances at all you’ll love it.
Scavengers’ Reign
About a handful of scattered space castaways on a beautiful, wonderful and terrifying planet. If you enjoy science-fiction for any reason whatsoever, I can only make this a very ardent recommendation. It has it all: the alien planet, the machines, the creatures, the cast of characters; but also the wonder, and the fear, never too far from one another. This show is a real underrated gem and I am very serious. For you, tumblr, my beloved freakopolis, it also has it all. I won’t say it – but it has what you want. […] This show is so beautiful. The planet’s ecosystem feels tangible and coherent and new and it’s beautiful and frightening most of the time. There’s something of the primordial awe of coming into contact with the intriguing unknown. Did I mention that this is an animated show?? It’s very good visually too.
Andor
About the birth of revolution – accross the galaxies, people getting tired of imperial abuse, and in the hero’s heart and mind. What I loved most was how grounded it was. This isn’t the usual star wars with god-elect heroes with a destiny. It’s about the sorry little bitches who look at their increasingly corrupted world and decide to try to do something about it. Or end up in there by accident. SO, so good. For that only I thought it was a banger. But then there’s everything else!! The worldbuilding (that prison!!)! The practical effects! The janky-looking tech everywhere! The gorgeous sets (the senator’s house HELLO <<33)! Heartwrenching details! An essayist! Not joking it changed my brain chemistry and there’s a bit of text I want to write down on paper for myself.
Machine
Mandatory « I’m sorry for all you bitches that don’t speak French » because I doubt it’ll get translated, or even subbed, anytime soon if at all. But god y’all are missing out. Machine is a freakishly fun take on the figure of the white woman being kickass through « kung-fu » (looked like every technique under the sun to me lol), yknow, Kill Bill-like? It’s also a very, very fun series about freaking Karl Marx and class struggle. Not joking, literally some fighting interspersed with karl marx quotes and also cycling. Again with a show that lays it on thick and, at first, it takes me off-guard, but I go with the flow and then it’s fucking fantastic. Suuuch a coup de coeur for me. Can’t think of a translation for it, but it means that it struck a chord and became a favorite of mine. Also made me realize I was less aware of where dreadlocks discourse is currently at than I thought (topic for a research afternoon for when I can catch a fucking break…) (bc the heroine has them). Et je m’en remets pas de l’influenceur gilet jaune lol, quelle pépite. Very mad that no one around me watched it.
Honorary mention: Jujutsu Kaisen s2
Total banger. You don't need me to recommend it to you.

The Rise, Fall, and Lasting Impact of Tumblr: Several Insights for Community Development on Digital Platforms.
Week 3 Submission for MDA20009 Class - Hanoi Campus
Social Media platforms have undoubtedly revolutionized the way we communicate, share information, and build communities in the digital age. Among these platforms, Tumblr emerged as a unique and innovative space that fostered the growth of diverse digital communities, providing a nurturing ecosystem for internet users from various backgrounds, including those from marginalized groups within society. However, due to its ineffective decision-making and policy management (Collins, 2022), Tumblr has lost popularity to other well-known platforms like X (formerly Twitter) and TikTok, making it less attractive to new users today. Hence, this post aims to explore how Tumblr amplified marginalized voices and examine how it lost relevance to other platforms due to ineffective policies and privacy concerns, thus giving insights for sustainable community development on digital platforms.
A brief history of Tumblr: From Microblogging Phenomenon to a Hub for Community Engagement
youtube
Launched in 2007 by David Karp, Tumblr rapidly ascended to prominence as an innovative microblogging platform that blended elements of social networking and content creation. Its distinctive features, such as reblogging and tagging, played a pivotal role in facilitating the rapid dissemination of ideas and the organic formation of niche communities (Sybert 2022).
Furthermore, the tagging system namely hashtags allowed users to categorize their content and discover like-minded individuals, effectively creating a self-organizing ecosystem of interests and subcultures (Highfield & Leaver 2016). These tools not only enhanced user engagement but also contributed significantly to Tumblr's unique identity in the social media landscape, hence making it a popular site during early 2010s.
Communities on Tumblr
The platform's unique structure and features enabled the formation of various niche communities, namely:
Feminism: Hannel (2024) stated that Tumblr once became a hub for feminist discourse, allowing for the exploration of intersectionality and the amplification of marginalized voices within the social public sphere. Furthermore, Reif et al. (2022) demonstrated the feminist communities on Tumblr as inclusive and open to diverse representations of women’s beauty, thus, making it a safe space for women with different body types.
LGBTQ+: The platform provided a safe space for LGBTQ+ scholars and enthusiasts to engage in discussions about queer theory, representation in digital media, and the intersection of sexuality and technology in humanities (Pain 2022)
African American communities: Hoch et al. (2020) indicated that the platform’s tagging and reblogging features have allowed for the rapid dissemination of content related to Black culture, history, and social justice, thus forming a community for racial movement and political change (i.e. #BlackLivesMatter and #BlackHistoryMonth)
How did Tumblr lose their users?
However, Tumblr has lost its relevancy to other popular media platforms, namely Tiktok and Instagram (Vogels et al., 2022). So, what incidents led to Tumblr's decline in popularity? Tumblr’s downfall began with Yahoo’s acquisition in 2013, which led to intrusive advertising and changes that alienated its core user base (Baker 2024). The final blow came in 2018 when Tumblr banned adult content, causing a significant drop in user engagement and traffic, making Tumblr’s popularity ranked behind Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram, Twitter and Reddit in the US as of March 2019 (Dixon 2024). Additionally, increased competition from other social media platforms like Instagram and TikTok further accelerated its decline, as changes in user behavior are contributed by the fact that Tumblr seems to be outdated in comparison to the more streamlined and visually-oriented formats of the aforementioned newer platforms (Hawthorne, 2024).
In final words
What I want to deliver after the discussion is that sustainable community development can be significantly enhanced by drawing insights from Tumblr’s approach, thus both of its pros and cons. Firstly, it is crucial to design an inclusive platform with features that foster diverse communities and amplify marginalized voices, akin to Tumblr’s tagging system, which has been practiced in many platforms, namely Instagram and Twitter. Additionally, implementing adaptable policies that evolve with user needs and societal changes would ensure continued relevance and user engagement among the communities of their own. Lastly, prioritizing the creation of safe spaces where marginalized groups can express themselves and engage in meaningful discussions, as Tumblr did for the LGBTQ+ community, is essential for fostering a supportive and dynamic online environment. Hence, even being active on other platforms such as Twitter or Tiktok other than Tumblr, online communities can be engaged in a sustainable way, making a safe environment for internet users, especially for the marginalised.

Asking you a bunch for the fic writer asks (since I'm on lunch and I'm not sure when I'll be back)
3, 14, 17, 22, 23, 25 plz :>
ty for the ask!! I love answering so many questions >:3 questions here
3. how you feel about your current WIP
good! I always have several WIP but I'm thinking of the most recent one I'm working on where goro is going to do a little impromptu strip tease for valentine while she's internally making the dialup noise. extremely satisfying, even when they're disgustingly sweet and horny to each other.
14. where do you get your inspiration?
mostly just idle thoughts, which is to say I don't always know what my inspiration is until after I've done it and re-watched/re-read some piece of media and go oh.
most frequently it's from books that I've read. the ancillary justice series, the elemental logic books, the locked tomb, a memory called empire. sometimes from a drama tv series like ozark, killing eve, or mad men. not usually one for one, but the intense emotional beats will be there! if it's a book it's generally scifi/fantasy, if it's tv it's usually some kind of insane work drama.
17. talk about your writing and editing process
heh. I supposed I do some outlining, but that outline usually only exists in my head. if I do write down an outline it's generally for a chapter, and usually it's the first iteration which means I don't follow it at all for the final product. I think I've been asked this question twice so for this one I'll talk about oneshots (or serial oneshots like ffor). usually it's something like:
get a flash of action or dialog for a scene that want to expand
write 5-6 paragraphs of waaaaay too much exposition to figure out the location, time, and characters present. all of that musing on background motivations, setting of a boring scene, pondering what everyone is up to before the interesting bit starts happening. I write it all down or I'm liable to forget it.
cut those paragraphs entirely once the initial work is done (to another file so I can reference as needed), efficiently covering all the relevant bits of story or scene making in 1/5 of the original space
write some awkward waaaaaay too "character lifted their hand. they rubbed at their chin. they moved their hand to character b's shoulder. they said words."
take several stabs at the initial premise, deleting none, but scrolling down the page and working from a different pov or slightly different setting
ad-hoc workhorse sentences while drafting, and then deliberately change those sentences to something that flows a little more and elides unnecessary explanation
whenever I get stuck leave myself a little note in place of a phrase or sentence like
[aimed those big gray pleading eyes at him]
[mocking her with the tone.]
fill in all those gaps later at later review, when my brain is less stuck in a hole about how to word these kinds of things which is less important than just capturing their energy
once the structure of the story is there, figure out what the main takeaway and recurring motif is and read through to figure out how to emphasize it and cut out extraneous details
review review review for grammar and punchiness and readability. cut my darlings which do not add to the central theme.
post it and instantly see 3-4 obvious issues that I need to fix
22. do you ever worry about public reaction to what you’re writing? how do you get past that?
yes. all the time. usually about trans and related queer identity stuff– I've never gotten any push back but I often hold myself to some harsh internal review worrying about whether something could be seen as "too much" or "bad rep" regardless of how I personally consider respectability politics. so far I think my stuff has been too niche for anyone to be offended but I'm sure if I wandered outside of my beautiful curated tumblr ecosystem I could find the hostile commentary I hear in my head.
so far I've done okay just probing at the edges of what I want to do and slowly creeping out past that. I'd like to be more blasé about it but i'm still working my way there. pretty sure i'm given a pass by being less obvious with an enby character who still goes by her agab pronouns so it's easy for folks to ignore. whatever. can't think about it too much.
23. pick three keywords that describe your writing
playful, sharp, indulgent
25. besides writing, what are your other hobbies?
answered this one already I think, but currently my other hobbies are wip pending better circumstances. knitting, bird and bug watching, baguette baking I think are some of the ones I've mentioned before (too lazy to check). I had this dream a good while back and wanted to talk about it. I know it’ll likely get lost in the unending funnies & art that is Tumblr, and I kind of hope it is. It just helps to get my thoughts out in a public space.
I was some kind of feminine deity watching over the universe. I could see every facet of existence, but I was a part of it as well.
I don’t know how to describe it well, but this is the closest I can get: Existence was a house, and I was standing in the hall. Each open doorway lead to a different part of our universe, and each window showed the others parallel to ours.
I watched over my universe, guarding any star systems that bore life. I protected the Earth and countless other planets like it, each with their own ecosystems beyond description.
I redirected meteors, moved black holes, extended the lifetimes of stars, and positioned the planets a perfect distance from them so they could have the best of everything. The only thing I couldn’t protect life from was its own intelligence threatening to destroy itself, but I had long since come to terms with my inability to stop it, and continued protecting life in every way I could.
All the time, there was another deity, masculine, begging me to stop. He was worried about me. He tried to tell me that there was no point to my continued efforts, that someday they would face something I couldn’t save them from. But I kept trying. Because all I wanted was to see my beautiful planets thrive, and especially my precious life forms inhabiting them.
I knew I couldn’t keep my planets close forever. I knew that each life on them was finite. But I didn’t care. All I wanted was for them to live their best lives in the time they had. I saw Earth inhabitants, everyone that was doubting their own worth, everyone that had lost hope. I wished for nothing more than for them to be happy, but I was too far away to help.
I don’t know who needs to hear it, but if you’re reading this, never fall into the belief that nobody loves you or that nobody would care if you disappeared. I was never deeply involved with any spirituality, but this dream showed me in one of my darkest moments that somewhere, someone will notice, and somebody will miss you. You have worth. All life has worth. All life is loved. You are loved.
Again, I don’t mean for this to get overly deep or religious or something, I just haven’t been able to shake this dream for weeks now and wanted to talk about it.
Extra details:
- Individual parts of the universe were simultaneously 2D & 3D.
- I was seeing everything at the same time, but was focusing on individual parts.
- I saw my own human body among those on Earth that were feeling worthless.
- One of the intelligent species on another planet was a light blue color. It was unlike anything I’ve ever seen. It wasn’t any form of matter we’ve discovered, and despite being nearly twice the size of humans, it was a single body rather than a collection of cells. The best I can describe it is “giant amoeba”. Hell if I know how they were communicating, but they made no audible sound, but still understood each other as easily as we speak to others in our own language. Their planet had no liquid water nor oxygen, yet sustained alien plant life as well as these odd creatures. There were no children, yet there was clear distinction between the young & old.

Flocons de fleur

Mobile fragments intertwined, budding, suspended, efflorescent, produce these beautiful horizons determining infinite combinations of color and light. All these fragments present on each work, diffract and disperse in a mobile space beyond the horizons. By the movement of the shadow and the light a space disintegrates and drags in its whirlwind the subordination of our thoughts to this space.
Kaleidoscope is a plastic reflection led by the artist Jung Deok SHIN on the cycle of nature with regard to the intersection of space and time. Jung Deok SHIN continues his research on the perception of fundamental phenomena within pictorial representation.
The artist establishes an alliance, an existence that unfolds in pictorial diachrony within his paintings. Brilliant flashes form the structure of his backgrounds and complete this path. Similar to intertwined, superimposed and discontinuous molecules, irregular patterns geometrically link this ecosystem. Thus, this undulatory mechanics creates for the artist the sought-after energy.
Kaleidoscope encompasses the Quantum mechanics” series, which aims to raise awareness of the invisible world around us; the fundamental phenomena (immaterial world) at work in the natural system form our ecosystem.
