I noticed you're taking hand holding requests and could I request Yuri and Ashe holding hands? Or Yuri and Linhardt? Maybe the latter studying or while Ashe is baking? Thank you for considering it!

Ooohhh since you’ve given me a choice, I’ll go for Yuri x Ashe.

For this one I’mma give a shoutout to @beaubear since they are a Yuriashe fan! Hopefully I did it justice, this is my first time really writing something for this pairing!

Unlike most of the others, Ashe loved being on cooking duty. Even with sparse ingredients during the war, he enjoyed trying to make dishes that would put a smile on everyone’s faces.

Normally two were put on cooking duty to make things go faster, but since so few had the patience or time to help him, he often worked alone. That evening, however, he was surprised to see someone already in the kitchen beginning to prepare the meal.

Yuri glanced up from chopping vegetables and gave him a nod. “Hey, Ashe. You on cooking duty too?”

“Yuri, are you feeling well enough for this? I can take over if you want. I know you were injured in the last battle.”

Yuri gave him a reassuring smile. “No, it’s fine. I’m feeling better. And I enjoy cooking. Especially with you.”

Ashe felt himself blush at the words, smiling. “All right, then! I’m happy to help.”

His smile widened. “Thanks.”

Together they made quick work of preparing the stew, using what few ingredients they had available to make something tasty enough to boost morale. Once it was over the fire, all they had to do was wait.

Ashe turned to Yuri, who appeared to be growing tired. Yuri would never admit it, but Ashe knew he’d likely benefit from a break. “I’ll clean up. You should go rest.”

“You sure?”

“Yeah, I can handle it.”

He smirked. “All right. I’ll be back in a bit to check on the stew.”

With that, he left, and Ashe immediately moved to the pantry. He knew ingredients were sparse, but if there were just enough for one tiny cake, he wanted to make it happen.

Not for himself, though. He knew it had been months since any sweets had been available, and if he could do one thing to help Yuri feel better, it would be to make him a cake.

After searching the pantry thoroughly, he found a bit of flour, some berries freshly picked from the garden, and a few spoons-worth of precious honey.

Soon after, he had enough cake batter to fit into a teacup. It was hardly enough for one person, but in times like these, it was a luxury.

By the time he finished cleaning, and the tiny cake was out of the oven, Yuri had  returned to check on the stew.

“Hey, looks good in here. Thanks for cleaning up.” Yuri stopped when he saw the cake resting beside the oven and smirked. “Sneaking some sweets in while I’m not around, are you?”

Ashe laughed. “Actually, I made it for you!” He took Yuri’s hand and led him to the cooling dessert. “I only found a few ingredients, so I couldn’t make very much. But it’s the least I could do, considering how much you’ve done for us.”

Yuri smiled, this time genuinely. He squeezed Ashe’s hand lightly. “Thanks, Ashe. You know we’ll have to share it right? A special treat for today’s cooks. It’s only fair.”

Ashe smiled at him in return. “If you insist.”

And beaubear yeah!! Like everyone seems down to clown with erasing the actual choices Cyril and Dedue made as a direct result of an action the person they are loyal to did for specifically them, but for some reason everyone’s just fine with Hubert being born and raised to serve this person that rarely ever pays him the time of day (unlike Rhea despite what stans say, as she personally speaks with him everyday). He’s the one that needs any freeing!
