Summary: You and Fionna meet for the first time

warning(s): Fluff, swearing, and i think that's it.

I was tired and really wanted a coffee to start my day, I haven't been here long so I didn't know which place would have good coffee. I saw a cute little old-looking shop 'the Beatrice Buttler's bakery' The big sign read. I decided that a cute shop like this and it's close to work? Perfect. I walked across the dead road and opened the door to a chime noise. I saw one other girl in the store, she had blonde hair that was messy put in a tie and a stressed look on her face. She was talking to the pink haired male that was working there. They both turned to face me and I saw the girls face, she was near my age I know that for sure. "Hi, sorry are you taking her order?" I said feeling like I had disturbed their conversion "No, what could I get for you?" The male's voice was cheerful and calm like a sweetie.

The girl who was now sat down was watching me, her eyes following me. "Could I just get a regular and a cookie?" I don't start work until tomorrow but I firgured it's smart to look out beforehand to get a good memory. "Of course!" He said smiling and turning around while grabbing a few things. I stood there moving my feet around myself, a few minutes later he handed me a bag. "That will be 4.50 please" I gave him the money and sat down at a table, a few more people came in while I was standing in the line so the blonde haired girl couldn't speak to the worker. She decided to move herself and sat on a chair in front of me, I felt rude not saying anything so I placed my phone down and smiled at her. "Hey!"

"You seem too happy" I wasn't expecting that to be the first thing that came out her mouth but okay "Sorry, is it unnerving?" I stopped smiling and gave more of a upset or dead faced. "Hmm...no it's just how are you happy living here?" She had to have lived here long enough to see how sad this city is. To be truthful I didn't really like this place but the rent at my house isn't that bad. "I don't know" I said, where is this conversion going? "My name's Fionna" She said while eating a biscult. "YN" I smiled for a split second before taking the cookie from the bag and starting to eat it. "YN? That's a cool name" Fionna started telling me about her jobs, her cat and how she knows the owner of the shop and a bunch of other things I forgot.

The next day before work I came in and she was there, she seemed to be more happy than yesterday. "Hey Fionna and Garyyy?" I said, she mentioned his name being Gary but I still wasn't sure. "Yep thats me" He said pointing to him while letting out a smile. "Could I get the same as yesterday, just a basic coffee and a cookie" He nodded while smiling "So- YN where do you work?" Fionna said coming close to me, her hair seems to get messier and messier but somehow I like it. I told her where and she started talking about random things after that. She spoke a lot, I listened and tried to remember all the things she told me but it was hard.

"If your ever free would you like to hang out outside of here?" I said I was just about to leave for work "Oh- Yeah are you free Friday" She said smiling while fixing herself up a bit. "Yeah! Wait hold on" I grabbed a pen from my bag and looked at her. "Could I have your hand?" She put her hand in front of me and I turned it around to the palm and wrote down my number, she was confused on what i was doing. "That's my number, message me on where we should meet Fi" I said giving her a quick nickname and I sped-walked out while waving.

When I got home from work I sat on my bed and grabbed my phone unlocking it for the first time today and I saw a message 'Hi' 'It's Fionna' 'from the store' 'the one with the cat called cake' 'I was thinking maybe your place if your up for that :p' I smiled at her messaged 'Yeah that's fine with me do you want me to pick you up?' I wasn't sure how far away she was from mines. 'Where do you live (Not in a creepy way)' I chuckled at her comment and replied 'XXXXXXXXX' I sent my address 'Wait holy shit- we don't live that far away from each other. 'Oh?' She sent her address and she was right it was pretty close. 'I'll see you tomorrow!' I messaged before going to sleep.

So I just reread umineko (I think I'm addicted to this story now) and I was wondering what other umineko fans think of the differences between vn and manga, especially the part about Battler and Beato escaping the island together, aka the magic ending of 8th episode.

Manga shows us what happened in a very detailed way from the beginning on that night, we get to see clearly that Sayo dressed as Beatrice survives the shooting in the the secret golden room.

She's full of fear and grief discovering her loved ones are gone.

Then she meets Battler who recognizes her as Shannon and she explains her story to him. She still acts in very polite and shy way (quite opposite of Beatrice).

Then they find a boat, escape from Rokkenjima and Beato jumps into the ocean like in the vn. Yet Beato's thoughts are a little bit different. One of her main concerns is still her body.

Now let's take a look at vn Beato. The last time we see Sayo (we know it's Sayo, she's very calm and doesn't seem to care about her life, despite beeing voiced by Sayaka Ohara who's Beatrice's seiyuu her voice is quiet, sounds kinda like Shannon's voice) is when she is beeing shot by Kirie at the end of the 7th episode.

And that's it. We don't see her get up. Sayo is dead. And I think that's why the what happens next during the family conference of 1986 is called magic ending. It's not Sayo who saves Buttler. It's an illusion of the witch Beatrice.

Just look at her. She behaves in this nasty and rude way as the Beatrice we know would. And Battler is not suprised at all. That's the Beato he knows well and the Beato he loves. He fully acknowledges her beeing this awful witch. If it was Sayo that she just met and found out about her past, he wouldn't do that. And now it makes sense why she tells him that she has to return to the world of illusion. She's not real. She's one of the people Sayo's soul was devided into and she can only exist in her illusion, in her Golden Land. And that's why there's no body left when she finally drowns. We know Battler's body is being lift up and it's only a part of his soul that joins Beato in the abyss, but her body should be lying at the bottom of the ocean. And yet there's only a golden rose left. It's because Sayo's real body vanishes in the explotion.

I think both versions of those events are right. What really happened on Rokkenjima is probably what is shown in the manga and what we see in vn is just the magical reconstrucion of that day. There are some differences (mainly in characters' behavior) but it's still the same story. I really love how it is presented in vn, Ricordando il passato playing in the background as Beatrice and Battler sink together into their magical abyss. It's the ending that reader can perceive the way he wants, it's not said strictly why and how it happens so we're free to interpret it in lots of different ways (you can even think it's still Sayo since it's neither denied nor confirmed, I think that kind of situation is what we call the devil's proof, right? *wink wink*) . I also love what they did in the manga, showing us Sayo's fear and doubt about her beeing able to live. Then we see her commit suicide and it just adds to her tragedy. Despite finally going away from Rokkenjima with Battler, as she dreamed since her childhood, she decides to kill herself. I find the manga version way more sad but the vn is way more magical to me.

What you think? Which one do you prefer? Or maybe I'm just looking to find something that doesn't exist and despite of what I said you think it's still Sayo-Beatrice at the end? Does it even matter to you? And most importantly, tell me I haven't miss something and my writing makes sense to you cause maybe I skipped something and didn't get things right??

William was aware that Mildred held no interest in meeting him. Their last conversation held little promise of future resolution., therefore, it would be unlikely that Mildred would answer his call. Yet, William needed to know his father's connection with the youngest Holland and speaking to Francis or Beatrice herself would end a relationship on rather bad terms. Seeing as him and Mildred already were in rough waters, questioning her would be most logical. Placing the letter carefully in a vanilla envelope William signed it from one of the kitchen maids, knowing that the Holland's would suspect it was a mere invitation for tea or an innocent inquiry. Handing the envelope tot he Buttler Will watched it disappear into the distance as he prepared for the evening.  The letter read...
