"Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sake He became poor, so that you through His poverty might become rich."
2 Corinthians 8:9
JESUS IS WORTH IT ALL
In Eritrea today, thousands of Christians are imprisoned for their faith without formal charges. Recently three prisoners who had escaped the prison setting were interviewed in safety. Their interpreter said, “They have really suffered. They did nothing wrong. But just for their faith they have spent years in prison. They were locked up in containers, tied up in the helicopter position, denied food. Why? Because they worship Christ. Because they say they are born-again. Because it is wrong to be evangelical Christians.”
The three men, Peter, Paul and John met in prison after being arrested for their Christian activity involvement. They worked hard. They farmed, mined, did building work on government projects—always in the sun. No shade or rest in very high degree heat.
They say, “The prisons are very dirty. There is no washing, no cleaning. And the food is very little—just bread many times, sometimes even no food. This makes many prisoners sick. They did not allow us to see a doctor. Many people died. It is very sad. Also, they beat us very much, for no reason. Some had broken hands, legs, even chest bones and most of the time no doctor to attend to our injuries. Some died from their injuries. We think some also died because they lost hope. Their hearts just gave up! We saw some die like this.”
They were repeatedly asked to deny their faith and sign an official document. One said, “The police threatened to arrest our other family members also if we refused to recant and sign the document. But we refused because we do not want to leave Jesus and become Marxist.”
They say they encouraged each other not to give up. Finally, one evening they broke out of the line and jumped over the fence surrounding the prison. One said, “The fence was made up of plants with big thorns. We jumped over them and ran. When the prison guards started shooting, we went in different directions. We heard bullets flying over our heads but none hit us.”
The Lord proved faithful and all three men separately and safely crossed the border after walking for days. How happy they were when they were miraculously reunited at a camp. They however could not stay at that refugee camp as they were informed that they could still be arrested and repatriated. And through the help that God provided using Christian brethren, they moved on to a safer place where they are awaiting God’s opening of doors to resettle at a more secure place.
One of them spoke for the others in saying, “When I reached here, I looked back, and saw that I had lost my freedom. But I also see now that I had lost time. I could not continue with school, I could not get skills training. I do not know how to do office work. I can’t even see myself marrying and having my own family. I am almost forty years now and I have to start from nothing.” Then he smiled and concluded, “But I still have Jesus. And He is worth it all.”
Response
Today I will appreciate what I have in Christ and know that He is worth every deprivation.
Prayer
Pray for the many still in prison today in Eritrea. Pray they will also be strong in faith.

***Live Updates*** Trump Holds Georgia Rally for Sens. Loeffler, Perdu
President Donald Trump will hold a Saturday evening rally in Valdosta, Georgia, for GOP Senators Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue ahead of next month’s critical run-off elections that will determine control of the U.S. Senate.
Stay tuned to Breitbart News for live updates.
All times Eastern.
9:01 PM: Trump says our fight to drain the Washington Swamp and reclaim our destiny has just begun. “We will never, ever surrender,” Trump says.
8:58 PM: Trump says everything they have achieved is on the line on January 5th and talks about the right to bear arms and religious liberty.
8:55 PM: Trump says he has built the greatest political movement in history over the last four  years and he doesn’t want others to “rip it apart” after talking about his ally Ronna McDaniel being back at the RNC. Trump now listing off all of his accomplishments like he did during his campaign rallies. No new material.
8:50 PM: Trump asks supporters to vote in the runoff to show the radical left that they don’t surrender. Trump talks about winning back the White House in 2024 and says hopefully he won’t have to be a candidate again.
Trump now praises Doug Collins and asks if he wants to run for governor of Georgia in two years.
8:48 PM: Trump says Democrats are trying to take away the country and says “we’re going to be watching… every element of what they do” on January 5th and will watch the runoff election more closely than any election in history.
8:46 PM: Trump talking about glitches that went in favor of Biden. He says the left lies, cheats, and steals and are “ruthless” and “hellbent on getting power.” Trump says the left beats you down, shuts you up, and makes you retreat.
8:45 PM: Trump airing grievances about vote dumps in the middle of the night and wee hours in the morning in Midwestern states.
8:31 PM: Trump says Democrats can only win the Georgia runoff if they cheat. Trump says nobody cheats better than Democrats. Trump says “we have to hold the line” in Georgia and says Georgians need to register to vote before Monday.
He says Voter ID laws need to be passed after the runoff along with citizen confirmation.
8:30 PM: Trump asks Perder and Loeffler to come up and say a few words. Loeffler says Trump made America great again because he put America first. She says Trump created the strongest economy because he put the American worker first while standing up to cancel culture, Big Tech, China. Crowd chants “fight for Trump” as Perdue speaks.
Trump now talking about voter fraud in Georgia. He says he is deeply disturbed by the lying and cheating and he says Democrats will have dead people, illegal aliens, and people from out of state voting.
8:19 PM: Trump praises Loeffler for “standing up to the marxists” when law enforcement officials were attacked. He says she also introduced legislation to block gun-grabbing Democrats like Beto O’Rourke. Trump says Warnock has called police officers gangsters and wants to abolish cash bail.
“This is not for Georgia,” Trump says. He says Warnock should move to another state and try again. He hits Warnock for also being “anti-Israel.” Video plays of “dangerous” Warnock and his past statements, reminding voters he even defended Reverend “God Damn America” Wright.
8:15 PM: Trump says Ossoff is a “radical zealot” who supports “defunding the police” and the “Green New Deal” that Trump says will cost $100 trillion. He says Ossoff supports a government takeover of health care and nationwide lockdowns. He says Ossoff will be a “complete tool” of the radical left and their donors.
Trump then lets it slip that he raised $250 million dollars in the last couple of weeks.
8:07 PM: Trump talking up the brilliance of “America first” and he wonders how people can say they are opposed to “America first.” Trump now back to listing the accomplishments of Perdue and Loeffler.
8:06 PM: Trump says the happiest people right now are the Chinese and the Iranians because he lost.
8:03 PM: Trump says the “radical left” will win if Georgians don’t vote in protest.
“If you don’t vote, the socialists and the communists win,” Trump says.
8:02 PM: Trump now says he calls it “fake news” and “suppression news.” Trump says his attacks on Hunter Biden were hurting Joe Biden so Big Tech and the media decided, “under no circumstances will we ever talk about him again.”
He says it’s hard to have a scandal when nobody talks about it.
8:00 PM: Trump says Democrats want to take away borders and freedom and even Christmas as Melania looks on…. He says he has to be careful when he is “sarcastic.”
7:58 PM: Trump says the Georgia Senate seats are the “last line of defense” against all that his administration accomplished.
7:56 PM: Trump now talking about how experts said he was going to lose Texas and he won the state big. He says these are “suppression polls.”
7:53 PM: Trump talks up the Dow Jones and breaking “30,000, a number that was unthinkable.” Trump says states and cities should open up.
7:52 PM: Trump again warning Democrats will end the filibuster the first day they Chuck Schumer becomes majority leader. He now talks about the great justices he has appointed to the Supreme Court and the 300 judges he has appointed to the federal bench.
7:50 PM: Trump says the extreme left will pack the Supreme Court with “24 radical justices.” He says they want them to “revolve up and down the court system.” Trump says they want to “hurt the Supreme Court and they want to hurt it badly.”
7:45 PM: Trump says Democrats will open voters and give illegal immigrants free health care and welfare and allow them to vote so Republicans never win another election. He says they will also take down the wall, which Trump says he built despite…having Democrats oppose him. Trump says Democrats want sanctuary cities across the nation and release criminals and MS-13 gangsters. Trump says he has removed thousands out of the country.
Trump says Democrats will confiscate privately-owned firearms. He says they will also “cut up” the Second Amendment and will make D.C. a state. He says Democrats want six more senators and 40 House members from places you have never heard of. He says they will vote against Georgia and “cancel out your voice.”
7:42 PM: Trump rips “cryin’ Chuck Schumer” and says Democrats have been investigating him since he came down the escalator. Trump says if Democrats win Georgia, Democrats will take over farms and radical Democrats will abolish the Senate filibuster and ram through the most left-wing agenda while destroying our military through lack of funding. He says tell Senators to end Section 230. He says that’s the only thing Big Tech fears.
7:38 PM: Trump claims Georgia’s governor and secretary of state are afraid of Stacey Abrams. Trump now talking about getting to know a lot of legislators and having some in his “pocket” as he pulls out a list. Trump now asking for signature verification before name-checking more legislators.
7:37 PM: Trump says he won all over the place except in swing states. He claims the election was rigged and says we can’t let it happen to Loeffler, Perdue.  Trump now claiming “hundreds of thousands” of illegal votes were cast and poll watchers were thrown out.
7:35 PM: Trump talks about receiving the highest percentage of non-white votes for a Republican since the 1960s. He talks about winning 18 of 19 bellwether counties. Trump wonders how Joe Biden got 80 million votes but only gets 1,000 people online to watch his Thanksgiving address.
7:31 PM: Trump says he got the most votes for a sitting U.S. president and insists he didn’t lose. He says they found a lot more ballots. Trump says he received most votes than any other incumbent in history and “we lost.”
7:27 PM: Trump says he is here to ensure that Loeffer, Perdue win the most important election runoff in American history.
Trump says you have to make sure Georgia’s governor “gets a lot tougher” and he says people have to make sure votes are counted and ballots aren’t thrown away.
He talks about the importance of Senate committees and Georgians will decide whether their children will grow up under socialism or freedom. He says Democrats want to go further than socialism and usher in a “communistic” type of system.
He says Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock are the two most radical candidates. Trump says they rigged the presidential election and insists he is still going to win it. He says they are going to try and rig the runoff.
“We continue to fight,” Trump says. “We’ve had some great moments.”
7:25 PM: Melania introduces Trump. Crowd chants “four more years.” Trump claims he won Georgia and “lots of other places.” Trump talks about being five down in Florida and winning by “a lot.” Trump says this has to be the first time someone lost the election after winning Florida and Ohio before saying he’s still fighting. He talks about numbers coming out of “ceilings and leather bags” that makes you wonder what’s going on. He says he’s thrilled to be back in Georgia and wishes everyone “Merry Christmas.”
Trump sends along prayers to Loeffler’s staffer who passed away in a car accident yesterday.
He also expresses warmest wishes to people suffering from COVID before talking about the vaccine. He says even some of his “enemies” are calling it a “medical miracle.” He says his administration should “always get credit” for the vaccine.
7:20 PM: Melania Trump thanks the crowd for coming out to support Trump, and she says “we must keep our seats in the Senate.” She says it is more important than ever for Georgians to exercise their right to vote in the runoff.
7:15 PM: President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump get off Air Force One. Rally about to get started. “Defund Democracy” signs in the crowd.
7:05 PM: Loud cheers for Air Force One. Rally should be starting shortly.

OPINION: “He says Voter ID laws need to be passed after the runoff along with citizen confirmation.
Yes,  Americans agree with that statement from President Trump 1000%.
The President is teaching our Country to be proud and never allow anyone from the ‘inside’ or ‘outside’ of our country to destroy  our great country for the sake of power over American freedom of democracy and speech.

Chapter I
Tumblr media
WATCHMEN #1 SEPTEMBER 1986 BY ALAN MOORE, DAVE GIBBONS AND JOHN HIGGINS
Tumblr media
SYNOPSIS (FROM DC DATABASE)
NYPD Detectives Steve Fine and Joe Bourquin investigate the murder of Edward Blake, who was thrown out from his apartment home and fell many stories down to his death. The detectives conclude that Blake's assailant(s) were rather strong to subduing Blake given the latter's large and stronger physique, and the sturdiness of the glass that Blake was thrown out. The detectives decide to cover up the investigation in order to avoid interference from the vigilante Rorschach.
Tumblr media
That night, however, Rorschach enters Blake's apartment and search the rooms until finding a compartment containing weapons, a leather costume, and a picture of the Minutemen. Rorschach realizes that Edward Blake was the American government-sponsored costumed adventurer known as the Comedian.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Meanwhile, Dan Dreiberg is visiting Hollis Mason at the latter's home where they discuss about their time as the Nite Owl. After their time is over, Dan returns to his apartment to find his door broken in, and finding Rorschach awaiting him and helping himself to a can of cold beans. Rorschach informs news of the Comedian's death to Dan, who then propose having their discussion in his workshop in the basement, where it serves as storage for Dan's Nite Owl equipment. Rorschach informs him of his investigation into Edward Blake's death. Dan suggest that given Blake's services and history, his murder could have been a political killing in response to his actions in toppling Marxist Republics in South America. But Rorschach propose another theory that someone is attempting to eliminate costumed heroes. Dan is skeptical of his idea, but Rorschach points out that the Comedian had made a lot of enemies for the past forty years. Rorschach soon leaves but not before giving The Comedian's blood-stained smiley face badge that he found to Dan.
Tumblr media
Rorschach later takes his investigation to a seedy bar called Happy Harry's, where the owner and patrons very fearfully known him well. He talks to Harry in needing information to Blake's death, which Harry honestly doesn't know. When one man named Steve mocks Rorschach, who then start breaking the man's two fingers and again demanding everyone for knowing about Blake's murder while continuing to torturing Steve. But no one knows, so Rorschach releases Steve and leaves.
Rorschach visit Adrian Veidt, a retired hero formerly known as Ozymandias and current billionaire, at his office. Veidt shares the same suggestion that Blake's murder was a political killing, perhaps committed by the Soviets. Rorschach considered it otherwise, as the Soviets never dared to antagonize America because of having their possession of the superhuman operative Dr. Manhattan since 1965, and stick to his masked killer theory. Though Veidt further explains that the Comedian had many political enemies other than the Soviets, claiming that Blake's reputation made him "practically a Nazi." Rorschach defends Blake from Veidt's remark, stating that Blake stood up for his country, never allowed anyone to retire him, and not even selling his image - unlike Veidt. The billionaire remains unaffected by Rorschach's words, as he discuss that he chose to retire prior to the passing of the Police Strike and Keene Act that outlawed unsanctioned vigilantes.
Rorschach then goes to warn Doctor Manhattan and Laurie Juspeczyk at Rockefeller Military Research Center. The couple were already informed of Blake's murder by their government superiors in which Manhattan recalls the C.I.A. suspects the Libyans were responsible. Manhattan remains unconcerned when Rorschach propose his masked killer theory, explaining that he sees life and death as "unquantifiable abstracts." Laurie is very unsympathetic of Blake, calling him a monster and that he had tried to rape her mother when they were both in the Minutemen. Her statements on Blake ends up in an argument with Rorschach, who defends Blake's behavior. Due to upsetting Laurie, Manhattan teleports Rorschach outside of the facility.
Tumblr media
Laurie decide to calling Dan Dreiberg out for dinner at Rafael's. Manhattan politely decline to join as he is occupied on finishing his research that would validate supersymmetrical theory. Laurie discuss with Dan about regretting her old life as the second Silk Spectre and her relationship with Jon, which she mentions that the government kept her at Rockefeller is to keep Jon relaxed and happy. Though Laurie and Dan enjoys recalling the story of an old villain that only pretended to be a super-villain to get beaten up, laughing at their times as costumed heroes.

UNDER THE HOOD
Chapter I Hollis Mason starts his book by recalling his decision to write a book by turning to a writer named Denise, who had written forty-two stories but never published them, for advice. Denise told him to start with the saddest thing he could think of to get sympathy, "after that, believe me, it's a walk." Hollis dedicates his book, Under the Hood to Denise.
Hollis's story began when his father brought his family to New York City from his grandfather's farm in Montana. In 1928, Hollis' father worked in Vernon's Auto Repairs off of Seventh Avenue and made enough income to support the family. In hindsight, Hollis realized his father's dedication to his job in repairing cars means to him. Hollis made occasional trips to the auto repair shop with his father and met the employer, Moe Vernon who was a opera buff and has a peculiar sense of humor.
One day in 1933, after Hollis' seventeenth birthday, he was with his father at the repair shop when Joe Vernon received a letter from his wife Beatrice and learned that for two years she has been sleeping with Vernon's senior and trusted mechanic, Fred Motz, and she has withdrew all the money from their joint bank number and left with Motz for Tijuana. Vernon became emotionally devastated, in which he had his gramophone playing "The Ride of the Valkyries" at maximum volume until he emerged wearing his gag breast harness to tell his employees that his wife committed adultery. His staff misinterpreted this gesture and laughed uproariously at what seemed an inspired bit of humor. But eventually everyone realized of their mistake and one of them went to apologized Vernon, who then claimed that he is fine.
After the employees left that night, Vernon committed suicide by inhaling carbon monoxide fumes. Vernon's brother took over his business and later re-employed Fred Motz. Since then, Hollis considered "The Ride of the Valkyries" the saddest thing he could think of due to Vernon's death.
Tumblr media
Chapter II By 1939, at the age of twenty-three, Hollis had taken a job on the New York City police force and tried to examine what could lead him to that career choice, his first notion being his grandfather, who introduce a certain set of moral values and conditions upon Hollis. Throughout his career, Hollis became disgusted with the types of people that he dealt ranging from pimps, pornographers, protection artists, pedophiles, and rapists. Because of this, Hollis upset his parents by loudly wishing he was back in Montana.
In the autumn of the same year, Hollis learned of a news story concerning of an attempted assault and robbery in Queens. A young man and his girlfriend were walking home from a movie theater when they are set upon by a gang of three armed men. They stole the couple of their belongings before beating up the young man while threatening to assault his girlfriend. At this point, a masked figure attacked the criminals with such severity that they required their hospitalization, and that one man lost the use of his legs due to a spinal injury. The witnesses' recounting was confused and contradictory.
A week later, the same masked figure appear again in stopping a stick-up robbery at a supermarket. The robbers surrendered immediately when one of them was brutally beaten by the vigilante. Eyewitnesses described the vigilante as a 'tall man, built like a wrestler, who wore a black hood and cape and also wore a noose around his neck.' The news press dubbed the masked adventurer in their headlines as 'Hooded Justice.' Hollis became fascinated by the Hooded Justice and decided to be 'the second.' He has found his vocation.
REVIEW
I don’t know how many times I read Watchmen. But every time I read it it’s a different experience. Many people will tell you the same.
This story is so big, it’s universe is so well thought, maybe too much for a 12-issues maxi-series. But that is one of its beauties. This time I am reading this next to the Annotated edition. Just in case you never heard of this... Watchmen has been analyzed... probably more than any other comic-book (perhaps a bit less than Superman or Batman, but you can find books and websites about it). For me to analyze Watchmen after more than 30 years of it, it’s pointless. So I won’t. I will bring up some entertaining facts about it though.
This is a story so detailed, that there is something in every panel. Most of the time it’s foreshadowing, other times it’s hints to the backstory of this world, other times it’s just allusions to what’s happening or to the character we are seeing. It may sound a bit scary for new readers so let me assure you, you can read this story without looking too much into it, and you will enjoy it. It is not one of those purely artsy stories that you “get” once you analyze it. This story can be enjoyed even if you don’t want to go deep into it. I would say that if you don’t care about the “bonus” material at the end of these issues, or the comic within the comic later on... you will get a full story anyway. You will always have time to read those things on a later read (and you should read it again).
But know this... this comic-book changes every time you read it, so that bonus material will not be the same experience as when you read the story for the first time. This is a “whodunnit” in essence (of course it isn’t really, but it is a murder mystery), and those stories are different the first time you read them. So perhaps you shouldn’t skip those things on your first read.
What you will find out pretty quickly is that this is an alternative New York, 1985, where Nixon is still president (and going for re-election), the Vietnam War was won by the Americans, and there is only one super-hero in the world, Doctor Manhattan. This made the cold war change in favor of the United States, as the soviets didn’t have one.
In this world, because of real vigilantes fooling around, super-hero comics never really prospered. Pirate comic-books did.
As you also may already know, DC bought the Charlton heroes after that company closed down. Characters like Peacemaker, Blue Beetle, The Question, Nightshade, Thunderbolt and Captain Atom were supposed to appear in this book. Last minute editorial changes made it impossible and Moore had to create “similar” characters. You will notice that most of them are almost the same (like the Original Nite-Owl, who was also a cop like the original Blue Beetle, and Rorschach is more like Mr. A, another Ditko creation that was... let’s say extreme in his methods). This worked out for the best.
Moore is known for his detailed scripts, but a big part of the greatness of this book goes to Gibbons. He was the perfect match for this story. Moore “suggests” things to the artist in the script, but in the end, it’s up to the artist to do it right. And it really works (you can check the original scripts against the results).
Some people think Watchmen is a Vertigo book. It was reprinted by Vertigo once that imprint was created, but there was no Vertigo in the eighties, so this was always a “mainstream” DC book. I suppose it will go out as DC Black Label now.
To be continued...

The murder and eviction of whites in Zimbabwe has been    commented on in the news but in Zimbabwe's southern neighbor, south Africa,    whites are being slaughtered at an even higher rate.        South Africa has three times the population of Zimbabwe,    and 13 times the White population: almost 6 million Whites live there.    As with Zimbabwe, the media silence about the murder of Whites there is    almost total; and in South Africa's case, even human rights groups are    largely silent, perhaps because the Black takeover there was so recent    and so many "liberals" have an emotional investment in the ANC/Communist    regime they helped to power.        In 1994, after decades of propaganda in the media and    sentimental whimpering from the churches, South African Whites were finally    persuaded to hand power over to Black Communists, who installed an ANC    ("African National Congress")/Communist government that, for    some strange reason, failed to follow Marxist ideology when it came to    expropriating the business interests of the Oppenheimer family, who dominate    South Africa's economy. They did succeed, however, in making South Africa    into a multiracial sewer with one of the highest violent crime, murder,    rape, and AIDS infection rates in the world. The media made a saint of    Nelson Mandela, a convicted terrorist who had been imprisoned by the White    government there, and when the Whites capitulated he was made President.        After the media's announcement that their long campaign    of sanctions, boycotts, and intimidation had finally succeeded in bringing    "equality" and "democracy" to what had previously been    one of the few outposts of White civilization on the African continent,    the media coverage of that country almost ceased, and one seldom hears    about South Africa today in the mass media. The reason is that South Africa    is rapidly descending into crime, disease, filth, and savagery.        Since the Black takeover in 1994, 1,368 White farmers    have been murdered in farm invasions and attacks that number in the multiple    thousands. More than half of the White farmers have given up and left their    farms permanently, contributing to the region's looming famine. And yet    this is not an issue in the Jewish media. South African farmers now suffer    the highest murder rate in the world -- 274 per 100,000. In a study commissioned    by a leading South African bank, Nedbank, it was revealed that the Black    attackers are        "'deliberately targeting specific homesteads to    kill the [White] Afrikaner victims': robbery was not the prime motivation,    in fact in 85% of last year's farm attacks, nothing had been 'robbed.'"        In other words, killing the White man, raping and killing    the White woman, raping and killing the White child are the real motivations.    And yet this is not an issue in the American media.        Let me give you a few examples:        On June 15th of this year, sugar farmer Robert Dent and    his wife Allison, both 59, were killed in front of their twelve-year-old    son Nicholas Dent. A Black invader entered the Dent home between two and    three AM that Saturday morning, armed with a military-style rifle. He bludgeoned    the unarmed couple, who were surprised in their sleep, and then, in the    presence of their son, shot them to death at point-blank range in the farmhouse    bathroom. The terrified Nicholas was then forced to drive the killer in    his parents' car about three miles away, where both killer and child escaped.        I have the figures in front of me for just this month,    September 2002, and though the month isn't over, nine farmers have been    killed, including four children and an elderly farm couple, George and    Albertina Lewis, whose dog was also killed. The police report on the Lewis's    murder says "no motive."        In August, a farmer's wife was attacked in a firebombing,    and Johan Viljoen, a Zevenfontein cheese farmer, was torched to death along    with one of his workers. Christo Olivier and Jan Kempdorp of Vryburg were    tortured to death and then buried in a shallow grave. The two Blacks who    were arrested for this crime were granted bail. On the 7th, the headless    torso of what police reports call an "ethnic-European male" was    found on Mpumalanga farm. And Johannes Maree, 62, of Randfontein, was found    bludgeoned to death on August 1st.        In June and July, Johan Steyn, 65, was shot dead in the    Cullinan area; smallholder Roy Murley was tortured to death; Johannes Lake    and Johnny Scheepers were shot to death; dairy farmer George Siemens, 62,    was killed; and Cheryl van Houten, 51, was hacked to death.        In April and May, Ben Vorster, 67, was murdered by an    armed Black gang; Andre Pienaar, 56, was shot dead; Mona Sawyer, 78, served    food to a Black caller at her home in Magaliesberg and was then stabbed    to death; Rita Mans, a 31-year-old farmer's wife was shot to death in Ottosdal;    70-year-old Iris du Preez was murdered on her small farm; Dickson Pillay,    36, and his brother Sandy Pillay of Glendale Farm homestead were burned    to death when Blacks torched their farm.        In the first three months of this year, more than 30    farm murders occurred, including the killing of classical musician Felicity    Gale, 58, of Port Jackson -- her husband, Rodney, 67, survived the attack;    Marius and Lillian Delport, 50 and 54, of a smallholding near De Deur were    shot and nothing was stolen; Rudi Schmidt, 51, of a farm near Pontdrift    was stabbed to death; 21-year-old Catherine Watkins of Potchefstroom was    found with her windpipe torn out; Estelle Burger, 27, a farmers wife, was    kidnapped and then shot; John de Lange, 66, a smallholder in Mount Pleasant    was shot to death, his wife, Evelin de Lange, 60, was raped and garroted;    and Arthur Smith, 63, and his wife Isobel, were found with their throats    slit and their bodies severely beaten on their farm in Sundra.        I'm just giving you the highlights here, by the way,    and just from the last few months. The grisly details and the horrifying    numbers can be found in the reports of Crimebusters South Africa and the    excellent data assembled by Adriana Stuijt and her "Journalism During    Apartheid" site. These farm massacres are occurring at a reported    rate of about one every other day. The horror on these White farms has    been steadily climbing since 1994. And yet this is not an issue in the    Jewish media.        Unlike Zimbabwe, the government in South Africa does    not have an officially-announced policy of supporting these farm invasions    and massacres. But they do have a policy of looking the other way and doing    next to nothing about it, a policy which encourages Black violence against    Whites. Their attitude is perhaps best expressed by Peter Mokaba, until    recently South Africa's Deputy Minister of Environmental Affairs and Tourism,    who whined recently that "The high crime rate is seriously affecting    tourism and an alternative image of South Africa needed to be promoted.    We want to encourage people to come here and see that crime does not dominate."    Really? What Mr. Mokaba did not tell you was that he himself is famous    for the slogans he invented and uttered again and again when he was a leader    in the ANC/Communist war against the White government of South Africa:    "Kill the Boer! Kill the farmer!" and "One settler, one    bullet."        Kill the Boer, kill the farmer. And it is to such a government    that White farmers must appeal for protection.        Even that government admits that, under Black rule, crime    and murder are out of control. The South African Police Service report    entitled Attacks on Farms and Smallholdings 1/99 stated: "Violence    seems to have become an endemic feature of South African life. According    to the comparative crime statistics for 1996 released by Interpol, the    country tops the list internationally as far as the incidence of murder    and rape is concerned. the fact that attacks on the residents of farms    and smallholdings are escalating at a rate out of proportion to the general    increase in crime figures observed in South Africa is indeed cause for    serious concern."        Such, I suppose, are the wonderful benefits of "multiracial    democracy."        The murders I've been describing here are just the farm    murders. The murder rate in the cities is even higher, for Johannesburg    alone it is 500 per month. Many of the victims are White, and the attackers    Black and racially motivated, a fact that is never mentioned in the US    media.        And South Africa is also the rape capital of the world.    A woman is reported raped every 23 seconds in South Africa. A small child    is reported raped every thirty minutes. And remember, these are the reported    and admitted rapes. This dismal record is partly due to the Congoids' innate    savagery when released from the control of civilized men, and partly due    to the Black folk belief that raping a virgin will cure AIDS, which is    rampant in that country. [Jackie Loffell, Johannesburg Child Welfare Society,    13th International Congress on Child Abuse and Neglect in Durban.]        On May 24, 2000, the beaten, battered and nearly frozen    body of a young Polish woman was found, clad only in a soaked t-shirt,    along the road to South Africa's Sterkfontein Dam. Her body was so cold    it was actually blue. Her hair was wet and she was covered with bruises,    open wounds, deep scratches, and mud. She was curled in a fetal position.    She was still alive. To students of rape in South Africa she was another    digit in the statistics. To Americans and Europeans who get their news    from the major media, she didn't even exist.        She was a 27-year-old newlywed on her honeymoon, a honeymoon    that ended when three Blacks murdered her husband in front of her eyes    and then brutally raped her, beat her, attempted to kill her and left her    for dead. The bruise marks around her neck indicated that her rapists had    tried to strangle her. At the treatment center she was immediately given    AZT by Polish Consulate authorities (treatment refused her by the South    African government) in the hope that it would prevent the transfer of HIV,    since two of her three attackers tested positive for the virus.        She testified that after her attackers murdered her husband,    they forced her in the trunk of their car, and went to a secluded spot    where each of the Blacks raped her in turn. They then attempted to drown    her by stamping their feet on her head in an attempt to keep her head underwater.    The woman has returned to her native Poland and refuses to set foot in    South Africa again, even to testify.        As reported by investigator Jack Galt, on November 17th    of the same year, a 14-year-old White girl was cruelly raped by a gang    of five blacks in her home in Pretoria. According to her counselors, she    has been traumatized for the rest of her life. Spokesmen for the White    Afrikaner community, who you will not hear on CBS, NBC, or Fox News, state    that this attack was a deliberate attempt to terrorize Whites.        Five heavily-armed Blacks invaded the home, and proceeded    to tie up the girl's mother, father, six-year-old sister and ten-year-old    brother with barbed wire in the living room.        They then grabbed the 14-year-old girl and took her to    the bathroom, where they brutally gang-raped her, each of the five Blacks    in turn, with the family listening nearby, helpless. Then the Blacks returned    to the living room where they beat and kicked the White father in the face    while he was still tied up, ransacked the home, and fled in the family's    car.        South African mother Ame Brown of Elliot in the Eastern    Cape recently stated: "On the 8th of October, 1998 my two children    and I were overpowered by four Black men. We were robbed of everything,    and before leaving the men took turns raping me in front of my two boys    aged 8 and 12. They forced my boys to watch. I have since then been tested    for HIV of which my tests at five months showed positive. It has not been    easy coping with being raped and having HIV. But I have a fantastic husband    who has stood by me through all my depression and down days and all my    sleepless nights. He has been my backbone and tower of strength."        The rape situation is so bad in South Africa -- the worst    in the world -- that British and American doctors are now advising female    travelers to carry anti-AIDS drugs in their bags because of the high risk    of infection from HIV-carrying rapists there. The British security magazine    Intersec reports "The high number of reported rapes in the country    is already a deterrent for prospective visitors -- and the South African    government's decision not to provide AZT to victims of rape means they    are unlikely to get the drugs at local clinics." Dr. Andrew Jamieson,    medical director of the British Airways Travel Clinic, said "the academic    travel medicine community had discussed the issue for a number of years."        "About six months ago, it was decided that this    would be a reasonable thing to do ... it's all about risk management. There    is a real risk for travelers to this country and other countries in Africa.    We do have a high HIV rate and a high incidence of rape so we cannot pretend    it is not there," he said. Predictably, the South African government,    which fails to protect White women from rapists, is furious at the doctors,    fearing a further loss of tourism dollars.        White ingenuity and inventiveness have come up with an    experimental deterrent to the Black rapist problem, however. Seventy-two-year-old    Jaap Haumann, a retired anesthetist in the Free State, South Africa, has    invented what he calls a "mutilator tampon" designed to lop off    the end of a rapist's penis. Haumann says he designed the device after    talking to rape victims, and he thinks that at least a million South African    women will flock to buy it. "It became clear to me that rape has a    devastating impact on the lives of women, physically and especially mentally.    We all know that South Africa has the highest rape statistics in the world.    With this device I believe would-be rapists would think twice before attacking    any woman in this country." Unfortunately, Dr. Haumann's invention    would not solve the problem of HIV transmission.        Cape Town, South Africa has become the world capital    of what is called the "sex tourism" trade. Press reports have    described it as the "sleaze capital of the world," and these    days that's really saying something. Perverts from all over the world go    there (bringing "needed tourist dollars" to be sure) to have    sex with children, many of them White sex slaves, but others imported from    brothels as far away as Thailand. "Sex with children," of course,    is just a euphemism for rape of the innocent. "Child Sex Tours"    are even sponsored by some "entrepreneurs" while the government    looks the other way.        In the bad old days of White rule and apartheid, such    things weren't tolerated. But in the new "rainbow" South Africa,    where can the innocent victims look for protection? The mayor of Cape Town,    a Black named William Bantom, was recently discovered to be enjoying his    huge personal collection of child pornography in his office while on the    job. And he wasn't ousted as mayor. Perhaps the Church will help them?    Bantom is also a noted clergyman, known for his liberal views on "human    rights," "democracy," and "equality."        A listener in New York has written this week to ask what    he and others can do to help the embattled Whites of Southern Africa. He    rightly points out that even though our first priority is to build the    National Alliance into a powerhouse to secure the future of our people,    these White farmers need help now in their local communities, in their    own countries. I can't tell you how you should help, but I can put you    in touch with those who are on the front lines in those countries, and    they can tell you more.        Two of the best sources of news about Zimbabwe and South    Africa on the Internet are Southern Cross Africa News, http://www.scafrica.com;    and also the South African Exiles Site, http://www.netcomuk.co.uk/~springbk.    If you weren't able to copy the URL's as you listened to the radio, don't    worry; they'll be present in the text version of this broadcast at our    natvan.com and natall.com Web sites, and all subscribers to our monthly    Free Speech newsletter will get them, too. There's also a publication from    South Africa entitled The Boer, which is charting a path for eventual self-determination    and national freedom for Whites in a White state. The publishers also operate    a White history museum in South Africa, the Balmoral Genocide Museum, to    preserve for future generations the true history of that land which the    present Black government is trying to erase from our memories. They may    be reached via the Southern Cross Africa site just mentioned, or you may    write to them at their postal address of:        Balmoral Museum. The Chinese Communist Party has faced and crushed a myriad of dissidents over its decades-long rule, from pro-democracy reformers to human rights advocates and outspoken religious leaders.
But Chinese authorities are now facing an unlikely challenge spawned from their own efforts to indoctrinate the population with the ideology of the party: young Marxists.
"After I started university, I became very sensitive to the treatment, rights and interests of workers," a student activist at Peking University told AFP, requesting anonymity.
As the son of migrant farm workers, the 21-year-old had a sense of social responsibility for China's underclass, he said.
In exploring ways to help them, he read the work of Karl Marx.
His story is not unique.
Reacting against the increasing consumerism in Chinese society and the growing inequality between the rich and poor, students at elite universities are turning to Marxism - the ideological bedrock of any Communist Party.
On campus, students organised movie nights and socials for the school's janitorial and cafeteria staff. They gathered to sing socialist anthems.
But when students tried to apply theory to practise by joining efforts to organise a labour union for factory workers in southern Guangdong province, Chinese authorities flew into action.
In August, a police raid swept up the student activists, beating several of them and confiscating their phones, according to the Jasic Workers Solidarity group, a labour rights organisation that the students joined.
Several of them, including Yue Xin, a Peking University graduate who became known after co-authoring a petition demanding details of a sexual abuse case at the school, have not been heard from since.
"We, the academics, are really concerned about the students' freedom and their safety," said Jenny Chan, an assistant professor at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University who studies labour movements.
- A violent past -
The crackdown continued this month, with around five graduates detained in various cities, according to activists.
Among them was a Peking University graduate who was beaten and taken by men in dark clothing on campus, an eyewitness told AFP.
The school issued a statement on the university's internal online forum, calling the Peking University alumnus a "suspected criminal".
At one university, students who participated in Jasic Workers Solidarity activities are tightly monitored by teachers and are questioned if they leave campus for an extended period of time, according to an activist who asked that her school not be named for fear of retribution.
Students say their Marxist societies have struggled to register with their universities.
"These incidents will only make me feel more angry and further arouse my will to fight," a Nanjing University student involved in the Jasic group told AFP, requesting anonymity. "It will not make me yield."
Though the activists make up a small portion of the student body, Chinese authorities are taking no chances.
In 1989, thousands of university students joined workers in pro-democracy protests in Beijing's Tiananmen Square that eventually provoked a bloody crackdown.
Since those protests, authorities have moved "swiftly and harshly against anything that seems capable of linking people in different occupations and different places," explained Jeffrey Wasserstrom, a Chinese history professor at the University of California, Irvine.
“In one sense, it is certainly ironic to find a government that claims to adhere to Marxism cracking down on a Marxism group," he said.
With the upcoming 100th anniversary of the May 4th movement, another historical mass demonstration led by students in Beijing, the Chinese Communist Party will be on "high alert," he told AFP.
- Divided campus? -
So far, police and school authorities seem to have succeeded in containing the burst of activism.
Online censors have scrubbed posts about police detentions and Jasic workers. Chat groups circulating information about student activists have also been shut down.
At Peking University student views on the school's Marxist society and the activism of their fellow classmates run the gamut. Some were sympathetic, while others criticised the group as militant and extremist.
"I strongly support them because they dare to put others before themselves," wrote one student on Peking University's internal online forum.
"Forget it," scoffed another. "I'm a left-leaning Maoist and I don't even like them."
The ideological clash also comes as Chinese leader Xi Jinping calls for a refocusing on Communist roots -- including a May speech which called for Marxism to be promoted in campuses and classrooms.
For most students, many of whom are liberal-minded or influenced by Western ideas, Maoism and worker rights are very distant concepts, explained Li, a fourth-year Peking University student who only gave his surname.
"As a political science student, I'm not very leftist in how I view labour," he told AFP.
He criticised the activists for their lack of "objectiveness and impartiality", but said that doesn't mean they should be suppressed.
Even if the government tries to clamp down on students, the labour disputes that sparked the protests in the first place won't vanish, added Chan.
"It is the government now who has to come up and resolve the problems," she said. Otherwise, "all these grievances and discontent" will simply increase.
"Obviously," she added, "the students are not going to be silent."

Setting the Cat Among the Pigeons
Article in full- 'Setting the Cat Among the Pigeons'
Frank Zappa was quoted as saying ‘jazz isn’t dead; jazz just smells funny.’ The same can now be said of capitalism, as the free market becomes a stagnant monopoly of corporate giants feeding a host of leech-like shareholders and impotent bureaucrats. Capitalism has been working well for the past century of economic and technological growth; so why is it not working now? Why is an entire generation looking down the barrel of a future completely lacking in the opportunities that previous generations enjoyed? The answer may be found in the lack of a truly liberal approach to business; as our enlightened society clings to antiquated forms of aristocratic privilege alongside the radical ideologies of freedom that came to light during the French Revolution.
Many alternatives to Capitalism have been floated, outvoted and sunk in the past hundred and fifty years, but we all know that the Marxist cure for Capitalism is worse than the disease... don’t we? Why are we even talking about a system of totalitarian programming where every facet of society is controlled by a ‘democratic leader’ who can have you and your family shot by the secret police for writing anti-government poetry on a wall that nobody owns? The fact that people are talking about it is an indication of how badly our capitalist system is failing to provide the average person with an equal opportunity to share in the rewards of our exceedingly rich society.
One of the leading proponents for democratic change in Australia is Helen Razer, who makes a very good argument against Capitalism in her book ‘Total Propaganda’ (2017); only once making the mistake of implying that a fictional ‘state’ can be trusted with the administration of law, health, equity and education- without being corrupted by the human vices of greed, apathy, lust, fear or spite. Historically speaking, socialists have proven themselves to be just as prone to corruption as the capitalist next door; from trade union leaders to church raffle-ticket sellers, but so long as the capitalist door keeps falling off its hinges, the ugly head of Marxist class-warfare will continue to raise itself above the level of healthy debate. And while the likelihood of Marxist revolution is slim, a situation such as this allows the dominant ideology of conservative wealth accumulation to continue unabated, while the divide between rich and poor is filled by sectarian politics and would-be authoritarians.
The real test of left wing liberalism versus right wing authoritarianism occurred almost a hundred years ago in Spain, when King Alfonso XIII gave up his right of absolute power and allowed a moderate government to be formed in place of his bumbling efforts to modernise the Spanish nation in the early 20th century (Beevor, 2006). This experiment in democracy was torn apart by the democratic process which saw Communist, Socialist and Anarcho-Syndicalist factions pool their resources to beat the Monarchists (who wanted King Alfonso back on the throne) and also the moderate government that represented the rest of Spain (who just wanted a fair share of what could be produced by Spanish industry and agriculture).
What followed was a war of Nazi-supported fascists and Kremlin-supported communists. The fascists eventually won but not before the communists had annihilated most of their comrades who helped them to win the last free election to be held in Spain for half a century (when General Franco, the winner of the civil war, died in 1975). The Wikipedia entry for General Franco actually differentiates between ‘fascist’ and ‘conservative authoritarian’ governments which adds another twist to the political wrangle that resulted in the second World War between France and Germany (and their respective allies) only a year after the war in Spain ended.
George Orwell wrote a first-hand account of his experiences in the Spanish Civil War (1938), having arrived to fight with the international volunteers who supported the Marxist battle against fascism; fleeing for his life when the Spanish communists began purging their own army for suspected traitors. He also wrote ‘Animal Farm’ (1945) and we seem to be in the same predicament now as Orwell’s cows, horses and sheep were when the pigs moved into the big house and let everyone else do all the work.
Would it even be possible that capitalism could lead to the same situation as Orwell depicted for the inhabitants of Stalin’s Soviet Socialist Republic? Is there any similarity between Russia in the 1940’s and America in the 2010's? The Communists didn’t need to own land to control the lives of the Russian people; they had a political mandate that gave them absolute power over the land, resources and industry. So too did the kings and queens of Europe; before the signing of the Magna Carta which was the first legally binding document that gave some guarantee that those in a position of power would be accountable for their actions.
So what guarantee do we have today that the people in power will use it responsibly? Is your boss going to pay your super? Is your landlord going to fix that leaking tap? Is there a modern-day William Randolph Hearst (aka Citizen Kane) who makes casual phone calls to the U.S. President to suggest changes to American foreign policy? Maybe all bets are off now that China and Russia have successfully converted to capitalist economies run by totalitarian dictators/conservative authoritarians?
Capitalism actually worked pretty well for Western nations during the 20th century, enabling the working classes to step up to a standard of living that almost equated to an egalitarian society- with middle class standards- during the 1950’s, 60’s & 70’s, but under closer inspection, it might have been the socialist demands of trade-unions that gave the average person enough money in their pocket to support the global economy; before the trade unions got so powerful that a state of emergency had to be called by the British Government to avoid a financial collapse.
So… can Capitalism and Socialism work together to avoid the situation of a stagnant market and shrinking economy wherein conservative factions consolidate their positions as shareholders, board members and real estate tycoons? Or do we need to remove the last vestiges of ‘noble birth’ as indicated by hereditary title for this to become a reality for the next generation of landless serfs/empowered consumers? Does anyone have the right to exact payment on land or property that they have ceased to occupy? And can the English Crown really be used today to enact the same injustices that occurred during the Enclosures of the English common lands (Fairlie, 2009) some five hundred years ago?
We all know how negative gearing works; you borrow money to buy a house and get the tenants to pay back the loan for you; alternatively, you can pay somebody else’s mortgage on the house you occupy while you try to save up for a deposit/equity-based bank loan on a home of your own. Whichever way you look at it, the banks are making a lucrative profit on the basic human requirement for shelter and security, which is fine if people are voluntarily partaking of the opportunity that banks provide, but when there is no other choice then it begins to look like a protection racket.
Protection rackets have worked very well in the past, with everyone from Pope Alexander XI to Al Capone making a tidy profit from being the baddest guy on the block, but do the ideals of a capitalist free-market allow for this kind of behaviour? Or do the democratic principles set out by the likes of Plato, Jean-Jacques Rousseau and Abraham Lincoln make this kind of graft and corruption unacceptable for a society that seeks to build a better future for their children?
Alas, this digression can only end in bitter and divisive arguments, so let us look for a solution that allows neo-liberalists and social democrats to profit equally as they work together to prevent Trump, Putin and Xi Jinping from creating a ‘panopticon’ that locks the world into a craggle-like state of Legomania. Needless to say, it would be unwise to nationalise the banks, media and mining companies at this stage of the game, but perhaps we could take one small step in the direction of economic prosperity for all Australians; and perhaps the rest of the world.
Public housing has long been seen as a saving grace for those who have failed to find gainful employment, but what if it was the first and foremost opportunity for first home-owners to purchase a modest dwelling for a minimal amount of interest? And what if these dwellings were designed, built and maintained by the next generation of young Australians who may have difficulty finding employment in other sectors? And what if these public housing projects not only incorporated green technology and urban-friendly recreational areas but also provided a sanctuary for the elderly, disabled and long-term unemployed?
This can only work if a mutual obligation agreement is, a) agreed to by tenants, and b) enacted by local authorities, thus ensuring that a harmonious environment is maintained wherein the values of peaceful coexistence and inter-generational prosperity can be cultivated. Which basically means that getting pissed and bashing your missus will get you, a) arrested by the police, and b) kicked the fuck out of the building. But just think of how much money people will have to spend if they don’t have to pay rent or an exorbitantly tailored mortgage!
Not only that, but the money saved on housing-crisis centres, emergency services and health/aged care will be phenomenal, and if people have a place to call their own then they will be that much happier spending their time redecorating the kitchen, rather than overdosing in the stairwell. We all just want a safe place to raise our kids. Let’s give our hardworking police, ambo’s and child welfare people a break from their routine of drugs, violence and verbal abuse; everyone knows the story about the unhappy rat and the cocaine-laced water bottle, let’s build a happy cage that people can move on from once they are ready to invest in the open real-estate market.
As the capitalist bubbles continue to burst, we just might need Milton Keynes to get us out of another Great Depression; the banks have made a very big profit over the past hundred years of continuous growth (they made enough out of the last housing boom to fund a national space program) and maybe it’s time for them to invest in the future of all Australians? And yes, there are terrible things happening all over the world but even if we can’t beat them all in one day, I still don’t think we need to join them.
