Atsushi FanFic!!

Alright guys, I finally made an Atsushi fan fic and mi actually so happy. It's a normal/artist au and it's going to explore both Dazai's and Atsushi's trauma, and backstory (to which I have somewhat altered to fit the story) I've only written the first chapter sadly, because the idea just came to me, so i'll add the first chapter down below! Enjoy <33

Atsushi’s mind. A complex web of fragmented memories and nightmares, forever plaguing his mind. The physical and phycological horror of everything the poor child had to endure, now hung onto the older man, like a bit, white tiger, who’s teeth had sunk in deep and refused to let go. Atsushi was cursed from the moment he was abandoned, left up to the cruel and sinister orphanage system, which had so violently treated him. Merely just a poor child, seeking comfort had been turned down and mocked, which in turn had chipped at his self-worth and value in himself. So, what could a tortured soul like Atsushi’s do? Become an Artist of course!

Splashes of paint, excentric lines and mismatched colours all slapped onto a canvas, it wouldn’t work, if the art wasn’t created by the famous artist Dazai Osamu. He was currently just sitting in his office. It was enormous, enough to fit the big canvases as well as all the paint pots, dried paint, crusted on the side of them.

There was a knock, it rang hollow in the room, dragging Osamu’s attention towards the door.

“Ah, come in.” Osamu said loud enough to be heard, the whiskey glass held in his thin hand, as he sat in the middle of the dim office.

The door creaked open, he was greeted to the sight of his beloved friend Kunikida.

“Oh Kunikida! How great to see you.” Osamu said, standing up on lanky legs and stretching dramatically like a cat, his beige sweater gifted by his closest friend hanging off one shoulder.

“Osamu, please you mustn’t waste my time like this, why did you call me to your office.” Kunikida grumbled, pushing up his glasses. He had been in the middle of working on some files when Dazai Osamu had called him up to his office, which honestly wasn’t to unusual but as Dazai got more popular, the more people requested things from him, in turn doubling work for people like Kunikida who assisted around the place.

“Straight to the point, very like you Kuni. Anyway, I found someone…someone im interested in. You might had recently heard of a new ‘mysterious’ artist with the signature ‘Beast Beneath the Moonlight’. Well…I want him, get him to me, in contact with me, right away.” Dazai said happily, trotting over to Kunikida and grinning up at him widely, before taking a small sip of the whiskey making a small noise as it gave a delicious burn down his throat.

Kunikida’s eyes widened, for a split second before he gave a short nod, he knew better than to talk or say anything against Dazai.

“Alright, I will find this man for you…May I be excused?

“Yes of course, goodbye.” Osamu said, then did a little twirl and headed back to a half-painted canvas. Kunikida bowed slightly before leaving, mind racing with the new task.

Osamu placed down his drink and shoved his hand in a pot of red paint, before he slammed it on the canvas’s the loud smack of his hand against it, reverberating through the office. His hand dragged and scratched down. This was his escape, his damn freedom from this depression, mind numbing world.
