Finnish is complicated to think these,but let’s see... here’s some pickings I managed to thought:

Ladybug in finnish is “Leppäkerttu”  which  translates literally to Alderwarbler.

Continuing on older saying if someone’s being ignorant or doesn’t understqand something, we say “Pihalla kuin leppäkeihäs”  which literally translates to “Outside like Alder javelin”

Then we have nowadays little rarely used sayins, though which I remember from my childhood....

when wanting to indicate something is mildly shocking, imagine like a rich woman  goin “My heavens!”  finns have “Kauhistuksen kananhäkki”  which is literally one of the best literal translations.  it translates to “Chicken cage of terror”.

Then, when starting to get angry, there is “Nyt paloi päreet!”   which translates to “Now my shingles burnt!”

And lastly two of my favourites, that my uncles uses (he never swears or uses foul language):

1. Voihan vihanta rantamato!  (Oh green beachworm!”

2. Voihan pitkä kanto kaskessa. (Oh long treestump in burn-beaten area.)

I have no idea where these all come from, but those are some finnish things to add on this wonderful posting.  

Not bad for a bunch of random noises we make with our mouths. Well done, everyone.
