"Her hands tremble against her belly, and the breath she takes comes out shakier than expected. No. No. No. She wants this. This child. She wants them to be happy, and smile, and grow. Her knees shake and she is forced to kneel on the ground with a bit more force than recommended. She wants this. Even as fear eats her lungs and clogs her eyes. She wants her child. [...] Yet how could she expect to be a good mother? Be what they needed when she couldn’t even figure out herself.

Her stomach hurts, and she can't tell if this is the cause of the nausea or if it is that itch under her skin that had accompanied her for so long. Telling her to change, to mold, yet here and now deep in her guts she knows there is no changing. That altering her body now would mean to get rid of something she could never trade.

She looks up to the mirror and the view shakes her. In the polished stone lies a demon unlike the sickly pale one that tormented her. No blood from merciless kills that reflected his heartless nature. Nor white in his fur to remind him of his days drawing near. The picture it reflects is way less violent, yet much more nerve wracking. Because it is a picture of something she wanted. A warrior who leads her kingdom alongside her king. A woman who could become a queen. A stray that was carrying the king’s child."

Have Graves AU on the brain. And it just so happens this AU was made with one question in mind "how much can I fuck up the monkeys?"

But rewardless. Macaque is such an interesting character to me, and I like pieces that let you into the spychology of the character and this paragraph, for Graves AU Macaque... Ufff is only the begining.
