I have been thinking about how funny it is that Vinland Saga's OST has an album picture that looks like it fits more for a Ghibli movie instead of... yk? Vinland Saga😂

And then it hit me.

Wtf Vinland Saga DOES have a feel of a Ghibli movie!🤯

Vinland Saga IS a Ghibli movie if Chihiro appeared much later, and INSTEAD we followed Haku through his story of coming into Yubaba's service and all the shit he must have done for her, IN DETAIL. If we followed Howl through his earlier life, through the war, through the gruesomeness and darkness and death that hollowed him out and made him vain - and Sophie appeared much later in the story as a secondary character.

But all in all, Vinland Saga DOES have a Ghibli movie feel and deal with the same character conflicts and carry the same message that we usually associate with Ghibli movies.

Miyazaki constantly created movies where he worked out themes based on his impressions from WWII, Vinland Saga is basically that, but instead of 20th century warfare, we have 10th century England wars.
