ppl who try to push the idea that supercorp is “toxic” bc they just want to dunk on the most popular lesbian pairing ever only really prove how they aren’t able to think critically abt media lol. you cant connect certain aspects of their relationship to a real life relationship simply bc it’s all conflated by the fact that it is a superhero show in a world where aliens exist. in the real world kara would not be an alien superhero and would not have had to lie to lena at all. and even if lena had been hurt by kara in a more real to life circumstance she would not have potentially turned dark side or used kryptonite on kara bc that’s not a real thing. like on tv real life scenarios like a friend betraying another one and them having a falling out are exaggerated into “one friend lies abt her secret superhero identity and the other is so devastated she wants to mind control the whole world so they’ll never have to feel hurt like her” to 1. raise the stakes 2. make it entertaining and 3. really hit home the extent of kara and lena’s relationship and how much they really do care for each other. like having lena want to mind control ppl was never to show she’s a bad person but to emphasize the extent to which kara had hurt her. (as well as to prove that lena is and always has been good but not the point here.) but ppl aren’t used to seeing women actually have genuine relationships w each other on tv that may have conflicts whether that be friendship or otherwise & cannot comprehend this for some reason. kara and lena have done nothing but uplift and support one another for the majority of their dynamic and that is what really reflects the nature of their relationship. and just as well the underlying message of s5 is that kara and lena make each other better and both need AND want each other and their love for one another can overcome the luthor/super dynamic that has been hanging over their heads the whole time. but if ppl want to use surface level reads to justify their hatred of an incredible lesbian pairing they can go ahead and do that idc but i will stay having fun w my girls!

blorbo (favorite character, character I think about the most) - LANCELOT. berserker lancelot in particular. enjoyment of his lore is enhanced by arthuriana fun facts my friend gave me and that i found while diving thru his wikipedia pages. raised by the lady of the lake. a damp, watery mary sue of a man blessed with beauty and martial skills but doesnt know how to cope with interpersonal difficulties at all. perfect knight but his main method of dealing with any problem that cant be solved by Sword is to promptly go insane and then run naked into the woods. an ideal man. emotionally fragile! i want to shatter him like glass! i think fate is the only adaptation of lancelot that really leans into his tendency towards hysteria but unfortunately they kinda waste it. making his insanity because arthur forgave him and therefore he couldnt forgive himself is.....kinda meh? ive got opinions about it. anyway this has gone on long enough. last thing: if theres anything else i wish fgo would do with him, its either 1. galehaut or 2. his susceptibility to being kidnapped by various women

Heres the thing abt ppl dunking on fan reactions for spn - the creators arent blameless for how their fanbase reacts. Oh sure sometimes ppl are venomous for reasons apart from the creators but what you put into a work can change ppls perceptions. If your work queerbaits, people will think you intend characters to be queer. If your work constantly communicates negative messages abt queer ppl and women and people of color and abuse survivors, you cant be suprised when the fans interpret a work though the narrative lens.

like yeah i hate the bnha fandom rn for siding with an abusive father they dont even like over his son just bc his son is an Undesirable Of Society but im sorry, the narrative has a definite hand in that interpretation. The narrative has always had a habit of casting abusers in a semi-sympathetic light and the villains have a pattern of not getting the same kinds of humanizing moments that hero characters get. i had some thoughts about the iidas! we know from what tensei says that both of their parents were pro heros, so i decided to doodle my take on them as they were in their prime (i assume they are retired, considering their five - FIVE!! - sons) so i’m going to ramble about that

/also click thru for compelling evidence that iida tenya has babiest brother energy and all of the benefits of him being the youngest of five

i decided iidad is probably cape guy in the front. he has the family engine quirk (i guessed on the arms?). I also wasn’t sure if Ingenium was a name passed down to every hero member of the iida’s but i kinda feel like it’s more special if it was just tensei’s decision to give that to tenya. i threw turbocharge up there as the dad’s hero name but i dont really have strong feelings on it lol 

i saw someone refer to the woman in this image as iida’s mom, but i kind of love that she is just as tall and buff and statuesque in build as all the iida men we’ve seen, while when we meet his mom she seems more petite

which isnt to say she cant be the same person, but personally i’d like for that lady to be their aunt maybe? so the iida bloodline is just full of big buff men and women and mrs. iida is small. 

I came up with a sort of technomancer-type quirk for her. it’d prob be a fairly rare/powerful quirk; she has this big mech construct thing which i think is fun bc. lil lady big robot. similar to yaoyorozu’s, it’s a quirk that takes a high intellect to handle. her hero name was SRVO (like servo) and hilariously despite having 5 kids none of them got her quirk

In the dub iida says something about being the ‘second iida son’ and the wiki claims he has three more brothers besides tensei. this implies the three brothers are younger than him but i call SHENANIGANS on that timeline because that means mrs iida had a kid and then waited FIFTEEN YEARS to have four more in quick succession which is so weird to me? like that could happen, i guess, but that poor woman. For my own purposes i’d like to think that tenya has four older brothers, with tensei the eldest and tenya the babiest (tenya was a literal infant when tensei was in his first year at UA, they have a 15 year age difference)

Benefits of this include tenya getting lovingly dunked on by his brothers at all times. he’s so excited to be class rep bc he’s literally never been the kid in charge in his life lol

2nd oldest brother i’ve named Tenchi: he’d be in his late 20s, either engaged or married (he winds up with two kids eventually and tenya is thrilled to be an uncle!!! the daughter inherits her grandma’s quirk and everyone is excited). He is the the biggest, bulkiest, loudest of the brothers and also the tiredest (i think he’s in the medical field but im not sure on specifically what). Strong jock energy despite never being one of the most athletic of the bunch. Kind of a bro. Loves his wife a lot. Embarrassing. 

Tenrou: probably 24(?) at the time of the show, the most fashionable, cosmopolitan of the bunch. Like tensei he stays a bachelor but its like a lifestyle choice. Actually one of the most academically accomplished brothers; studying in grad school, to be museum curator/art historian, but people tend to be surprised when they find out bc he’s also the party boi

Tendou is the youngest ahead of tenya but he’s probably not less than four years older. for sure in college at the time tenya is at UA. he’s most similar to his little bro in their neatness and perfectionism but he’s more like. stressed about it. a beautiful business boy.

Day 6 (1/8): Orientation

Today we started orientation and spanish class.

Me and Mateo walked by ourselves because we didn’t know where veeryone els was but they were all late lol bye

The lady at the University of Cuenca who is in charge of foreign students is really nice she’s from virginia and taught spanish in the US but now teaches englsh classes at the university of cuenca. her name is alex shes pregnant

she told us some cultural things about cuenca like how women-women and women-men greetings are kisses on the cheek but men-men is like a bro hug. and how we should say hi to eeryone we see bc thats like normal and what we do. also they learn the continents as like America is all one continent not split into north and south america which is interesting 

she gave us a tour of the campus which was cool it was founded in 1860something but it all looks like very 60s. There’s 20,000 students that attend the university and theres no dorms everyone just lives at home and like goes to class. its so cool they usually all have like 1-3 for lunch everyday so people go home for lunch. they dont have sports teams but they play sports together sometimes. they dont have like shirts or apparel with the university of cuenca on it bc they dont have the same kind of school pride as we do its just like they go to school and thats it which is interesting.

then we had our spanish classes adn im in the beginners one which is really easy and the lady is really nice she said we can go get ice cream during class one day.

then me and lauren and jack tried to make pancakes and bacon and it was pretty good but it was hard to make bc theres like no pans really and i had to do the pancakes in a pot lol they were okay. then we tried to make waffles but i forgot to put butter on the waffle maker so they got really fucked up and that was pretty embarrassing. 

then we all went to ECU911 which is like the center for their emercency services and it was really cool like they had a huge wall with a ton of video camera angles of the city and like people watch them all the time and if they see sketchy stuff they tell the police or whatever to go there its so cool. The guy showed us like incidents from this weekend and new years and it was kinda scary bc it ws like people beating each other up and stuff but it was really cool to see.

thennnnn me and allie and shea and sean went to the liqor store and i got some vodka for like this weekend probably.

and now im in my room and the cleaning people came in and its really awk but they gave us new sheets and stuff so that was nice

whenever emily get back from the market, were gonna have a DRE team meeting bc we need to remake our presentation to show our sponsors on thursday. We dont have to go in until thursday afternoon which is lit

fuck, i had like the longest, weirdest dream tonight in multiple parts, with real strong loz influences as will become apparent

and i cant remember any of them very well and not everything here is in the right order bc I just remember snippets but. man. this is A Really, Really Long One (for real. 1300 words. of a sequence of dreams. fuck).

first one was a present-ish day thing where (and this one I remember the worst) - there was this big public fair or festival sort of thing going on, and there were these glowing, magical beasts? of some sort? and this magical artefact that was able to control them, I guess? and also make people glow, or something, or give ppl magical powers, or at least change their hair colour (which is p much the same to me). and in the past the magical artefact had also existed, it had been a golden Gamecube controller that had been buried away and I guess it had to be thrown into a lake or just dunked into a pond or s/t to activate it? I had been the one to find it back then, but now there was a new one, and at first no one knew where it was or what to do with it except me, but somehow I messed up and let someone else know and they stole the artefact (or maybe they managed to steal the old, previous GC controller artefact that I'd attempted to hide away). and the fair was over

and then I had to steal the artefact from the bad guy, which entailed a lot of jumping on roofst and chasing him and his well-armed retinue across the city. He held the artefact on his belt, or maybe it was kept in a box where a small doll of him held it on its belt and the artefact had been shrunk down? eventually I managed to get the golden object, and I gave it to the princess (???? who I guess hadbeen helping me in this mission ????), who was able to weild some kind of great power with it

next one was an alternative universe? maybe? or a darkest timeline/future? or jsut a future, idk, anyway, here the object had fallen to an unreacable place while I had been transporting it, and was now sort of being guarded by the Big Bad (who for some reason was now being played by Jim Carrey) - no one had real access to the object, but he lived right next to it, and because he had such great political power (bc people believed he had the object?? I guess?) he had had the princess move in right next to him, and no one could refuse him, and I was just one man who could do nothing

but then somehow I guess the princess and I (who had to sneak around in the place they were living in) managed to retrieve the golden object from where it had fallen? and then we had to run away, obviously, and I guess we made our way through the city and had to hide our identities and stuff. there was a bit where we were in a restaurant and had to give our bags for safekeeping (there were literally a bunch of safes on one wall of the restaurant floor). the golden object was in one of our bags and everyone was given a number of the safe their bag was in and we were extremely paranoid that the other people in hte restaurant were the bad guy's minions who would reognize usa nd try to steal the object back. luckily we saw two Good Guys (well, women) sitting in the restaurant and joined them and made some kind of a switcheroo plan with their bags etc, and managed to get away safely I guess?

eventually there was a big group of ppl alongside me protecting the princess and the golden magic artefact. we were hidden and invisible, floating on some sort of magical platform in the middle of a great big park where the princess's clan had lived (before all but one of them had been killed) and the people who now lived there had let us hide while the big bad was looking for us/parading around. as the usurper ruler went by on a big celebratory float (idk? or maybe not? i can't remember. anyway he had a big parade going on, with lots of guards etc) we decided to go visible, all of us pointing down at him, accusingly, with our princess holding the golden object, showing the whole city that we were alive and well and more powerful than the bad guy and that the magical object of power had been returned to its rightful owner. and then the princess used its power, I guess, to restore the city that had deteriorated while the bad guy had been in charge. she moved around fallen rocks and building materials with the Object's power, and all the people living in there were very thankful.

then the group that had helped me and the princess had a great big celebration of victory (with lots of glitter? which I was really happy about?), but for some reason the bad guy just came waltzing in and demanded to get the golden object back. for a while we deflected his tries to see who had the object talking rings around him etc while the group passed the object around among themselves, keeping it hidden. eventually he came really close to finding out who had it, when one of us had a very good idea: she switched The Object with someone else's golden bracelet and gave the bracelet to the Bad guy, us preted-surrendering. the bad guy went away happily, i think?

after this everyone was really tired, happy to be going home and getting a Real Break (it had been a Long couple of days/however long it had been). everyone else teleported home after a job well done, and I was left alone (by which I mean, there were No Other People in the city at this point - this wasn't alarming, it was supposed to be this way). being the hero i had to see that everyone else got away first, of course. but as I was walking towards my location of teleportation a shadow ninja poofed in and shot at me with a bow, and I dodged and attempted to shoot back. I hit, but then aonther one appeared, and another one, and another. I had to run away and look for a safe building to hide in.

I guess at some point i ran into the princess again, and then out from the ground lifted a great, big, flat, circular thing. so we were alone in the city and it was under attack from alien-ninja invaders. the princess used the object power to somehow make us (or at least me?) fly around in a circle around one spot, like hammer throw? anyway, so we keep doing this as the aliens keep slowly ascending, and we try to find a place on their ship or on some nearby building to hold on to - I think the ship was making it impossible for me/us to land, because otherwise we'd have been just, like, obliterated immediately, but staying airborne and in motion made it impossible. then we see a bunch of old military-looking men peer out of a row of windows nearby, looking at the alien ship, and we try to talk to them, convince them to open their windows and let us come in and hide from the aliens, but for some reason it's really difficult to communicate (maybe because we kept going by them at a high speed). when the men find out she's the princess they're cool with letting her in, but she's not going without me. in the end somehow we manage to get inside (the princess released her magic centrifugal force and swung us in through a window?). and for some reason the people in there are kind of piised off so we end up creating quite a bit of dsetruction while tryingto get them to help us, or get out of our way, or something. at this point i had started to wake up so....... that's it, I guess.
