Writing Update 3/15/19

Favorite Line: not really a line but i want to share some of my favorite inside jokes i put into the first draft section titles of my WIPs - “Part One: Shit starts to hit the fan” “Part Two:Where shit really hits the fan” “Luka wakes up and immediately regrets it” “Coming out of my cage and i’ve been doing just BAD” “Part Three: Shit has exploded big time” also my fav from a different version of MHTH “Campfire, campfire, this fire in my skin” if you get the reference i’ll give you a cookie.

Today i did just. a bunch of writing i guess. Shit hit the fan and went crazy in MHTH, so that’s cool. Realized an underlying message i didn’t know i was putting into it, but am pretty happy i put into it. Also dealt with some of that underlying fears that always exist in someone who’s been abused when they are trying to trust someone. I was seriously struggling with how to make the distinction of, specifically if you’ve been abused by a guy, and/or are a girl in todays society, a woman occasionally getting into fights is nowhere near as scary as big muscular guy getting into fights on occasion. Mostly i was struggling with how to word it so that any cis male readers don’t get on my ass about it and what not bc that’s just how they be. I eventually just gave up, because there is no way in hell i’m not including how Silas getting in a fight, even if it’s to protect Luka and even if it’s like, the one fight he’s ever been in, is still terrifying to Luka and going to put that seed of mistrust in him. it’s a big part of being an abuse survivor (speaking as an abuse survivor) how any little red flag, no matter how small, is big and terrifying and makes it super hard to trust someone bc you know what it could lead to. So it was going in the damn book, and if people have a problem with it, i  don’t even care bc it is 100% accurate and totally in character. end rant. But other than that it was all good (and don’t worry Luka still trusts Silas, he works through it and is like considering Silas has a very good reason to not be a Bad Dude and to works very hard to not be a Bad Dude, i can probably trust him. And he’s right bc Silas would never hurt him and if he didn’t he’d destroy himself inside for it) But yea. That’s about it.

1.       What fact (when you discovered it) disappointed you the most?

that rape accusation agains neil degrasse tyson

2.       When did you discover your main fandom?

hmmm is DW my main? I think so? It was in uni, right before things got bad depression-wise and I remember reading JB’s bio and how it cheered me up when I needed it (I got caught up on all the eps in time for the xmas special that had DT leaving)

3.       What are your favourite smells?

sandalwood! and jasmine and chocolate ice cream

4.       Who motivates you to be better?

idk? I try to find ppl I can learn from and grow with and in a sort of ‘in spite’ way I keep thinking of my scumbag relatives and thinking “don’t be like them, do better”

5.       What are your pet peeves?

ppl saying any variation of “I don’t really know anything about it but I think...” aka contradicting yourself in the same sentence and thinking your random opinion has any value when you’ve done no research

became my pet peeve after countless convos in classes that boiled down to all the cishets congratulating each other how the queers demand too much, or how cis men acted as if their opinion has any value when it comes to abortions... you know, the everyday infuriating situations

also the one thing I cannot stand is hypocrisy - like, you want to be a bigot? fine, be a bigot, I will hate you anyway but at least own that bullshit and don’t go around saying how you “have nothing against >whatever group< BUT...” - see above -.-

6.       How do you feel about the belief in soul mates?

in fiction - awesome and I love it, *grabby hands*

in reality - wtf? hell no!

7.       Which character traits would the person who is the complete opposite of you have?

not exactly a character trait but they wouldn’t be depressed so: a motivated, stylish and cruel to baby animals ...hmmm sounds like the vilain from the 101 dalmatians XD

8.       How interested in art are you?

moderately - I don’t usually go out of my way to find info but I enjoyed some of the classes on art history, especially the course on eastern iconography and architectural reconstruction - basically if you have stuff to say on the topic I will not stop your monologue, unless it’s to ask clarifying questions ;)

9.       What word(s) makes you burst out laughing?

hmm spoiler alert! the word is in my native language so.... BUT! I crack up whenever I hear the phrase “(enough/etc.) room for...” especially in the home design programs, bc it reminds me of “the room for a pony” line from Keeping Up Appearances ^^

10.   Have you ever mapped out your whole life? If so: what happened? If not: why not?

no? never heard of it - that’s like detailed plan for future? if so then I never had any idea of what to do with myself xD

11.   If you met someone from tumblr in real life, what defining piece of clothing would you wear?

not sure abt a >defining< piece but I would take a shower and put on a bra xD (among other things, not just me in a bra xD tho it would surely be memorable)
