sorry to spring this on you. Never think about Adam much because I never thought about him as a complete character, just an obstacle for Blake and to some extent Yang to overcome. That would bring the overzealous types from both sides out and I don't wanna deal with them. That being said I don't hate him because there really nothing there for me to hate. It's more like I nothing him. does that make sense? sorry for rambling
makes perfect sense to me, at least. tbh, i was pretty much in the same boat as you, but with long enough hiatuses i ran out of things to think about and unexpectedly. adam happened. and now he won't leave lmao
i'm like, running through multiple tripwires with this one, but being real here for a sec: adam really was underutilized while also being too many things at the same time. unfocused. like, he really came across more as a plot device than a character in his own right, popping up every now and then to be menacing and then disappearing until it was time to be menacing again, inexplicably developing off-screen like it's not exactly explained why he "didn't seem well", he just did. the thread is practically non-existent there; sure, i could make an explanation for it, but it wouldn't be satisfying (to me) based on what is actually on screen, etc.
which is a shame, because there's plenty of interesting stuff in canon that could be taken further with him, given more focus and all, but as he was written, at its core adam's character is being pulled in two different directions: is he a former, branded child slave with tragic story you're supposed to feel sorry for, or is he blake's abusive ex you're supposed to hate?
at some point, you need to commit to the bit, and with adam, that never really happened, and his character suffered for it.

I’m feeling the same way about the Mando movie 😭 I’m worried they’re gonna use it as a way to kill off Din and have someone else take over Grogu and completely change the storyline 😭😭😭
UGHHHHHHH BB YOU READ MY MIND
i could go on forever at length about my fears, worries, and concerns for what the writers will do to our beloved Din and Grogu in this upcoming movie, but I'm trying to stay optimistic about how it could turn out.
Here are my thoughts under the cut:
Many ppl agree that the way they ended s3 with Din and Grogu was finite. A neatly wrapped up package with a bow tied on it, to end their adventures and consequently, their story within the mandalorian universe. They have their house on Nevarro, Moff Gideon is no longer a threat to Grogu and Din, and they can live the rest of their lives in peace, as father and son. I just really hope the writers heed the terrible low warnings that s3 received and use it to keep Din and Grogu as the main focus of the movie, without straying too far to focus on other characters.
I know John Favreau has already said that they have already written s4 of the Mandalorian but I can't help but think that it really will not involve much of Din and Grogu at all, given the way s3 ended. That plus the fact that they kept saying that the Mandalorian doesn't have to be about one singular Mandalorian, and that it can center around the entire Mandalorian universe as a whole, and other mandos (*cough cough* Bo-Katan *cough cough*). Consequently, with s3 centering around Bo-Katan for the majority of the season, it is pretty clear that this is the direction they are moving in. Which makes me incredibly sad, but I do understand Din and Grogu couldn't go on forever.
Plus, Pedro's filming schedule for s3 of mando was extremely rigid given his time and devotion to filming TLOU, I'm doubtful that he could have had a major role in the future seasons. Given TLOU's success paving the way for 2023 to really be Pedro's year, I feel that he is going to step back from Mando, which would align with the way the storyline for Din and Grogu is going.
I think what makes me most sad is I'm not sure which is the cause and which is the effect in this scenario. Is Pedro taking on other roles and stepping back from Mando bc he feels short changed by Disney? With how they've been writing for Din and Grogu lately? Did they start to push him to the back burner as soon as the hype around TLOU began? OR are the writers fruitlessly writing out his character and making space for the mandalorian to center around other characters bc of Pedro's rise to fame and popularity now? Rightly so, he's a hot commodity and everyone wants him starring in their projects, so it makes sense that they would take this into consideration when writing future stories for Din and Grogu.
All of this to say that I feel like the movie is the final send off we will get for Din and Grogu, which is bittersweet and heartbreaking. If I'm honest, I think I'm in my feels so deeply over the whole thing because the Mandalorian was how I found Pedro.
Other people found him through Game of Thrones as beloved Oberyn, or through Narcos as the insatiable Javi P, and some more recently discovered him as Joel in TLOU. My ex was a huge star wars fan, and I had only seen the OG trilogy (which I did enjoy), and he suggested I try watching the Mandalorian. I tried it once and didn't enjoy it, but then I gave it another watch and slowly fell in love with it. Once I found out that Pedro was the main actor, and he was the one underneath the suit?? It was over for me.
I fell HARD, down the rabbit hole. Interviews, photoshoots, his other movies and shows, you name it. Anything I could get my hands on, I consumed with a ferocity that scared my ex away lmao. So for me, this whole thing really feels like the end of an era. The end of Pedro's era as the Mandalorian, the end of a character that made me discover him, and fall in love with him. So that's why it hurts a bit more to anxiously anticipate how they will write his character out of the story line. I wish I could go back to the glory days when mando was still airing and the show was still about our beloved father son duo and their adventures, their relationship, because they are the heart and soul of the show. They are the reason I kept coming back for more, kept rewatching, kept looking for fics to consume.
UGH ALL OF THIS IS A LONG WINDED WAY OF ME SAYING THAT I CARE SO MUCH ABOUT THIS SHOW AND THESE TWO CHARACTERS. THEY ARE MY EVERYTHING AND IM VERY PROTECTIVE OVER THEM, AND I DON'T WANT THEIR TIME TO END, BUT THEY DESERVE AN HONORABLE SEND OFF WITH DIGNITY
AND IF YOU READ THIS FAR I FUCKING LOVE YOU, THANK YOU. I am always open and wanting to nerd out more about these two and my theories for them, my inbox is always open to you!

i agree with ALL of this fr like. i have only seen full gameplay of chapter 1 (a twitch streamer i enjoy watching was playing it and i was like okay what the hell might as well watch), and from what i saw of her gameplay, it had its decent moments. and when the narrative slowed down it was actually good! but what really threw me off was how.... weirdly horny or utterly unserious everything was coming off as??? the one-off kinds of comments or interactions you could have max engage in??? like, i'm specifically thinking the scene with amanda after safi's "death" where she comes over to comfort max after, yknow, one of her supposed closest friends DIED, and max is very strangely FIXATED on how much of a mess her apartment is??? like i GET it, you could say that it was just max trying to cope in a way that she could control ("i cant control safis death but i can control how my apartment looks"), but it felt OFF. like it was less of a coping mechanism and more of a "i have to clean myself and my place up bc a pretty girl is coming over" like that kind of tone??? like this friend who ALSO knows safi??? and so would understand that max wouldn't have had the energy to clean up her place literally two days after said other friend's death. that was what really stuck out to me in chapter 1, and not in a good way
but that being said, like i mentioned before, when the narrative stopped and let the moments rest, it was very nice. they CAN do the "let's give this sad moment/serious moment the respect it deserves" but like..... it would so promptly be ruined so i can't even say that it was a consistent good thing. like again that scene with amanda WAS very nice (after the weird cleaning up thing), but then the end of it was ruined by amanda saying goodbye and max asking if they could hang out again, and amanda says "you know where to find me" in a very cute kind of tone..... which max's internal monologue was to reply "fuck me" in the WHINIEST most pathetically needy voice ever. idk who directed hannah telle to sound like THAT but i'm blaming them.
and that's not even talking about what happened to chloe and her mischaracterization, bc ur correct. or the meta OUTSIDE of the game itself in the whole "people can change a lot and break up" -- like FINE. that makes sense, that's very real. but the meta is that.... people have spent TEN YEARS with pricefield, like you said yourself. it's not about what's realistic for the characters really, they don't exist in reality! do i believe that max and chloe could/would have broken up? i sure do! truthfully, i think they absolutely would have had rough patches. but they are characters, and in reality, these characters have been a lifeline for some folks. these characters have been happy, have adopted kids, have gotten married, have been through anniversaries, have struggled and fought and reconciled for TEN. YEARS. in the minds of fandom. it feels so incredibly callous that they would actually impose and force reality on max and chloe (and not even in a way that's TRUE to chloe's character -- the couldn't even be bothered to try, instead they made rachel and/or steph 2.0 like jesus). like i know some folks are taking it WAY too far "pricefield truthers" or whatever phrase folks are tossing around arbitrarily as if they are holier-than-thou and proudly claiming that chloe is the worst fucking person on this earth for rage bait. i know people have been harassing devs, writers, actors who arent even INVOLVED with DE, only involved with D9 from prior games, and my anger towards the game and the treatment of the characters doesn't stop me from seeing how shitty and awful that all is. but genuine criticism isn't harassment, and a lot of folks are getting lumped in with that portion of the fandom and that sucks
also, i actually only peripherally knew about Another Storm thing being in DE and that's just...... that's so lazy. LMAO
and the nightmare sequence that literally requires that you need to have played LiS1 to understand it (apparently safi and max "cosplay" as chloe and nathan from the first gun scene in the bathroom -- and also there's at least 1 reference to the vortex party), like when folks from marketing said "you can jump right into DE and after playing DE, that's what will make you want to play LiS1" like where is the SENSE in that statement??? jfc.
and then "max caulfield will return" GIRL. HELLO?!?!?! NAH MAN.
and if that's not enough
Tumblr media
so uh. how we feeling abt DE now XD idk if you've played (i have not) but consider this ask the place for u to vent and bitch away abt anything u like regarding DE
OH MY GOODDD
Ive never played it and probably never will but based on the reviews I HATE IT ALREADY. They did Chloe so dirty. Shes loyal af and has abandonment issues and you’re telling me she doesnt want to get tied down????
Also max getting rejected and using her powers to travel to another timeline to get w that other girl???? Feels so wrong oh my god. Like I want to watch a gameplay cos I want to know what happens but everything ive read has been HORRIBLE so far.
Also the storm?? what storm!! why are they bringing back elements from the first game with no correlation at all 😭😭
Pls I need to know ur thoughts I am going crazy I waited 10 yrs for this only to be so utterly disappointed

Many ppl in this fandom care the most about their ship and they will go to the end of the world to support that ship. Right now I am a Portwell, but my priority is always a good storyline that doesn't do a disservice to the characters. If they do any of these characters dirty this season, especially EJ and Gina, who are my favorites, I personally won't watch this show anymore. To quote Ben from The Umbrella Academy: "I'm out, b*ches" (that scene really cracked me up and I also saw the actor's reaction to that scene and it was hilarious). Coming back to hsmtmts, one thing that will definitely stop me from watching the show would be making EJ or Gina cheat. Like if they do that, I'm out... The EJ and Gina I know would never do that... I saw the leaks and I personally don't have a pb with Rina if it's written well and they don't do EJ dirty (or Gina and Ricky with a cheating plot). But I can't see a scenario in which these leaks don't make any of these characters dirty, since the timeline is so short (two weeks... like Gina gets over EJ in two weeks (less than two weeks, bc in the first eps we know they're still together) and falls back in love with Ricky (even worse if it turns out she never got over him and EJ will seem to be a rebound AGAIN, bc of the SAME guy (IDK HOW SOME PPL ACTUALLY LIKE THIS IDEA. The twitter fandom is the worst.))). Also, the idea of making Ricky a rebound is horrible. Can they just not do that?
Now, how I see the all EJ-Val and Gina-Ricky situation (ignoring the "leaks"), to me it gives Troy-Sharpay and Gabriella-Ryan vibes. In the second movie, Sharpay and Troy had many scenes together (like EJ and Val seem to have). I don't think Val will be like Sharpay at all, but she will cause drama. Also, I think that Portwell will parallel Troyella in hsm2 and Mitchie and Shane in the second movie (Troy being focused on his future/Mitchie with saving the camp/EJ spending a lot of time with directing the play considering the "high stakes" vs Gabriella/Shane/Gina wanting a happy summer where they spend more time with their love interest and getting to know them better). Like, the parallels are there, Portwell parallels all the main couples in ALL the movies (I won't talk about Anna and Kristoff since this topic was talked about a lot around here). If the writers really screwed this up and the leaks are true... oh well... I will be mad disappointed.
Note 1: About the "high stakes" part, I have a theory that I don't think will turn out to be true, but what if they go with the camp rock 2 plot with the camp being closed (but it is kept a secret to not put that much pressure on the campers). Just a thought. Anyway, the "high stakes" part will definitely put a lot of pressure on EJ since he is the director and I think this will cause some drama between him and the wildcats (esp with Ricky who, from the trailer, doesn't seem to take the play seriously. Watch this being their actual conflict this season and not the love triangle part :))), that only being a misleading).
Note 2: I love that EJ and Gina got so much focus in the trailer!!!! Also, EJ plays the guitar!!! They finally let him play it (an eternity later)!
^THISSSSSSS! (I was laughing at that Ben scene LOL😂). You captured my thoughts perfectly, anon. ❤ Only thing I'll add is that there's no narrative point in repeating S1's storyline with the love triangle unless there's different results this time (as in EJ being the priority for someone for once. Nini couldn't give him that and that's okay. I have faith Gina will. 🤷🏽‍♀️) PW will continue to just talk about their problems and be honest, I reckon. That's really important. Totally agree about the "high stakes" putting a huge amount of pressure on EJ (like Troy and Mitchie 🤔). But it seems he will talk to Gina about it (thankfully!)🥰
Sidenote: I've gotten a lot of asks about the "leaks," which I plan to address at some point this month but July is really busy for me so it'll be a long long wait, probably. 😅

word count: 2.809
warnings: smut. shameless, fast paced fluffy smut.
You couldn't understand why the hell he was so nervous. On the way to your parents' home he asked more questions than a 4-year-old on their way to a park - what are they like, what do they like to do, do they know Blur? Do you think they will find my shoe ridiculous? I'm sure they'll think I’m a weirdo. What did you tell them about me? Even the many kisses you gave him were not enough to calm him down, leaving you to assure him that even if your parents didn't like him - which would be impossible, Graham was never better and more pleasant to live with - you would continue to like him. Very much.
Couldn't live without him, actually.
When you arrive at the door, your mother greets you with a wide, surprised smile - it didn't even seem like she had been begging to meet Graham for months and meticulously planned every minute of the time you would spend together. Her friendly posture seemed to make him more comfortable, the fact that your father was traveling also ended up making him more relaxed. “Dads are always frightening,” he’d say. He agreed to spend the rest of the night there after having an extremely pleasant dinner.
While he does the dishes, you and your mother clean the table when you decide to stop by the kitchen to talk to your boyfriend.
"It wasn't that difficult, was it?" You ask, a daring tone in your voice.
He smiles sheepishly. "Everything went significantly better than I thought it would, honestly."
“You did well. Not that she is hard to please, but you are really sweet.” You kiss him on the cheek. (It's so cute how he still blushes at these things after months of dating.)
"Thank you, love."
"I mean it. I think you deserve a gift for being like this.”
He looks at you, starting to pay even greater attention to the direction of the conversation. “And what do you have in mind?”
You whisper in his ear in the most seemingly innocuous tone you can feign. “I, for one, think you should fuck me senseless in the room upstairs.” He smiles, gaze a little lost in his surroundings as it usually goes whenever he’s pleasantly disconcerted by your dirty talk. Your hands travel his body subtly under his shirt. He hisses: “Can’t wait.” His voice is weak. You love to tease him like that.
You give him a little peck where his mouth and cheek meet – and then you motion to leave after a wink. “See you in a few minutes.”
“Babies, sorry to interrupt,” your mom arrives at the door, instantly killing off the whole mood you’ve created. “I forgot to tell you, but some other people from our family will be here in a few minutes. We’re not done yet!”
Graham’s really confused. You shrug and give him some context – “My family just loves gatherings in general. And they’re excited that I have a boyfriend now, apparently.” To which your mom points: “Exactly! They want to meet you too, Coxon!”
You can feel the anxiety building in him again already. He’s so uncomfortable it hurts, and you know his head is spinning. He doesn’t want to let you down, and after your mom leaves, you go back to calming him down again. “Baby, it’s okay, I promise. If you’re too overwhelmed we--”
“No, no. I signed up for this. I’ll be okay. I’ll have a drink or two…”
You completely discard this possibility. No associating alcohol to social abilities anymore after everything he went through because of it. “No. We’ll find other ways to calm you down.” After some seconds of a silent yet intense brainstorm, you have an idea. But you won’t tell him. “Ok, I know what to do to take your mind off the pressure. Just wait and see, and no beers, alright?”
“Alright… I guess.”
After giving him yet another peck while he finishes cleaning the plates, you quickly run upstairs to change from the tight jeans and band shirt you’re wearing to a very light and flimsy sundress. And that’s all the clothing you choose. It fits you well, and leaves not much to the imagination. You know it’s a family gathering, but it’s also summer, so no severe dress codes were being enforced in any significant way.
He reads your mind the moment he sees you in the dress, shaking his head in pleased disbelief at the sight. He mouths a small “you didn’t” while a stupidly joyful smile slowly shines over the tight expression of worry he once had. To which you mouth back: “I did.” You then go back to playfully teasing each other a bit while you take care of the sudden assembly’s preparations.
Your family members arrive and, as expected, they’re really thrilled to meet your guy. Graham answers so many questions, and ends up sharing so much of how he feels about you with them, and bit by bit, the warmth and wholesome aura of your closest relatives makes him feel truly welcomed. He feels like he knows you even better now, now that he knows where your energy and vitality come from. He could see bits of your personality in every single one of them – of course you are still the splendid whole, but still. It made sense.
Also, you noticed he didn’t take his eyes off you the entire time. He was hungry and you’re glad your plan worked. It was easier to forget about how hard sociability is when his mind was somewhere else.
After a while, though, you could sense him getting fidgetier. Even though he was considerably and visibly more relaxed than he was a few hours ago, that amount of social interaction, specially while sober, still drained a lot of his energy. You take his hands, announcing you two were getting something else to eat. You go to the kitchen, not bothering to turn on the lights, and though the house is empty you two could still hear the enthusiastic discussion your family is having outside, slightly drowned by the distance and the walls separating you now.
“You did so great, baby.” You smile, giving him a victory kiss while he envelops you in a tight hug. He’s proud of himself too, and he deserves to feel like that. “They love you already.”
“They’re just like you, in a way. I’m glad everything went well,” he sounds relieved, still tired, but relieved. “I couldn’t stop thinking about that proposal you made me earlier, though.”
“I know,” You plant a chaste kiss on his jaw. “I felt your eyes on me.”
This second kiss he gives you feels different. It’s longer. Famished. Purposeful. His hands are friskier now, traveling hastily throughout your body, and you alternate between giving in and becoming progressively more alert of your surroundings. You can have an idea of where this is heading. The swirling of his tongue around yours makes you dizzy, and the feeling somewhat akin to an electric shock – but milder, and definitely more carnal – that flows through your body when he bites your lower lip and brings your hips closer to his brings you back to reality. “We have to be careful,” you whisper, each of your lips just barely touching while you breathe each other’s air.
“I promise I’ll be. You look delicious in this dress, I… don’t know where to start.” He cups your cheeks while drawing imaginary lines across your lips with the tip of his thumbs.
“Think fast. Never took you for a quickie guy.” You chuckle.
“I like to take my time, yes, but some things can’t wait.”
And with that, with the dexterity and carefulness of a cat, he sinks to his knees in front of you, lifting up your dress with one hand and one of your legs with the other, your leg now resting on one of his large shoulders. He takes hold of your hips, angling you toward him. You hiss in anticipation, and you can feel your core burning in expectation too. Your hands now firmly grab the counter behind you for support while you turn behind you with attentive eyes to see if no one’s coming. You’re safe, for now. The thrill of getting caught is one that will never get old.
His eyes seek yours for reassurance. You, without a word, give it to him. You both look lovely bathed in moonlight. He teases you first, kissing and sucking at the skin on your inner thighs, moving closer and closer to your center until after a couple minutes of that sweet agony his lips graze across that aching part of you.
He flicks his tongue delicately through your folds, playing with your wetness. The way his hands caress your lifted thigh so delicately while his tongue inscribes poems to your clit is something that makes your stomach flutter, you simply can’t ignore those tiny adorable actions that make loving him so addictive and rewarding. Keeping yourself silent and struggling to remain somewhat composed to anyone who might see you from outside is a painfully arousing contradiction to the sensations you’re feeling. He’s doing his best to fuck you up, gradually setting a rhythmic pace to his movements with the intent to release the spring now starting to coil tightly low in your abdomen.
“Jesus, Gra—f-fuck. Fuck.” You whisper, breathlessly, while simultaneously suppressing a moan when he delves his tongue even deeper in your core, your fingers instinctively curling and closing a fist on his hair, making him groan. You buck your hips against his lips and you can feel sweat beading on the backs of your knees, heart threatening to jump out of your mouth by how fast it’s racing.
You suddenly freeze when you hear a voice from outside approaching the kitchen and you lightly tap his shoulder. Graham stops on command, but he won’t get up until he’s absolutely certain he should. He sprinkles your thigh with small kisses again, eyes droopy with the high from giving you the pleasure he knows he’s giving you while he admires you. The person heading for the kitchen takes a turn to the opposite side and you sigh in relief. “False alarm. Go on, baby.”
“Yes, ma’am.” You notice he’s panting, and you can only guess how hard he is, judging by the tone of his voice. The time you spent frozen wasn’t enough to completely burn out the fire he’d already created within you, but he’s determined to give you an orgasm before anyone can interrupt you again – now he had two fingers moving, stroking, curling inside of you in delightful ways while his tongue began to work your clit in tight little circles. You could feel him moaning against your sex, he really liked this. And fuck, he was good at it. He slips one more finger into you, his ring finger, making your pleasure soon explode into a trembling climax. You couldn’t stop the little sound you made and he kisses your thigh in reply while still lazily fucking you with his fingers. “So fucking beautiful,” he whispers.
One of your hands move to your mouth in order to cover the sound you really want to make. Graham, once again, looks really proud of himself.
He slowly pulls his fingers out of you and cleans them with his tongue before he lifts up again as inconspicuously as possible. You try to look like nothing happened, and you’re both glad that, apparently, no one’s giving a single fuck to whatever’s going on where you are. Given the realization, you look at each other and giggle. He then pulls you in a hug, voice husky when he teases, and confesses, “You can’t imagine how bad I want to fuck you right here. You’re the best thing that ever happened to me.”
“We’ll have to take this to the bedroom, love.” You reply, still recovering from your orgasm. You can’t risk more than you’ve already risked. He looks slightly…
Disappointed.
You smile. “You thrill-seeking bastard. You enjoyed this way too much, didn’t you?”
“Didn’t you?” He questions back, tickling your sides, a wide, satisfied smile on his face. God, you loved him so much. He pulls you back to him again, and you turn to the other side so he can grind against you from behind. He’s rock hard. “We have some thick curtains here, after all.” You say, mischievously, before you close the curtains as carefully as possible. He lifts up your dress once again, this time high enough so he can fill his hands with your breasts, and he, agonizingly slowly, teases your nipples with his fingertips while he keeps grinding against you. This, alone, gets you motivated enough for another round. “God, Coxon, you’re going to be the death of me.” Your voice’s painfully needy, just like every other part of you.
You spread your legs a little wider to give him better access to you. Feeling cool air against your bare ass, you bite your lip and screw your eyes shut when his hand squeezes your butt. “Dripping wet for me. You’re glistening.” He quietly notes, giving your butt a little kiss - you then look over your shoulder to watch him get his jeans open. His hard cock bounces against your ass as he pushes his boxers down. You wiggle to get him inside you while he tortuously slowly runs the tip of his cock between the slick folds of your pussy. When it bumps against your sensitive clit, you can’t stop the mewl of his name.
After a few more hard breaths, he was inside you. You’re hungry for him too, and the sound of your body clashing against his is something unbelievable. You begin in a faster pace than the one you’re used to – and that’s not a problem. At all. Speed is of essence, but you’re also starving for each other. It feels like no contact is ever 100% enough.
Your hands keep firmly gripping the balcony and when he lowers his chest against your back you can’t hold back the involuntary gasp that leaves your throat and echoes through the empty house. One of his large hands holds your hips in place while he fucks you mercilessly, the other one covers your mouth hastily – his shaky voice betrays how badly this is affecting him too. “Shhh, love. You don't want anyone seeing you in that state. So fucking tight around me.”
He was sinking more deeply into you with each thrust now, and trying to keep your eyes open while his now awaken dominant side is doing that to you, exactly the way you want him to, is torture. You feel like you’re going to pass out from the all the sensorial and contextual stimulation. “You want me to come inside you, baby?” To which you keenly reply with a nod, not bothering to uncover your mouth. This was perfect.
He edged his hips back so he reaches your most sensitive spot and his grip on your mouth constricts when he notices how loud you want to be. “Feels like a dream inside you but keep. Quiet.” His voice lowers to a breathy whisper against your throat and the hands that were holding your hips in place now snaked to the front of your body to help you get off. And like that, you do, coming a second time, this orgasm even more intense than the last. The way your walls twitch around his dick is enough to push him over the edge too, and you feel him spilling inside you. You milk him of every drop, and after you both ride off your high, you feel a tender kiss that lasts for a while in your scalp, a silent “thank you” while he slips out of you.
You put your dress back on place, trying to compose yourself before you can look another human in the eye again. You have a positively overwhelmed, just-woke-up-from-an-incredible-dream look on your face. “You better not get me addicted to this kind of risky shit.”
He laughs while he also does his best to look like not one hair or piece of clothing ever went out of place. “Sorry, Y/N, I think I already did.”

Destiel Chronicles
Vol. LXVI
It was a love story from the very beginning.
You are the one in my heart (Part II)
(11x13)
Hello! I bring to you another meta from this collection – the second part! We will keep talking about broken hearts and how in love Dean is with Castiel. I know you love this topic. And I just decided this will have a third part because I have so many things to say...
First of all, I want to say thank you to @destielle , she's the beta reader of this mess. Thank you for making my meta look so pretty 😘💕💕
Cheating and love triangles
Episode 11x13 is titled 'Love Hurts' and it fits perfectly because, remember how Dean felt so hurt when Casifer tried to use him as bait? Okay. We all agree he suffered a heart break then, and that’s why the Banshee could get to him. Now, this episode talks about broken hearts, too… but also about a cursed kiss: Amara's kiss.
The episode opens with a husband cheating on his wife with their babysitter. It’s a love triangle functioning as a Destiel mirror, but they add in some spicy confusion to the subtext: Melissa (the depressed wife) is the Cas mirror, we have Stacey, the babysitter, for Amara and Dan as Dean.
So when we have Stacey saying: "Ew, I can taste her mom lipstick…you’re telling her tonight, right?" we get the mirrored thoughts of Amara after kissing Dean, who is, too, already taken, compromised – bonded with Castiel.
And when Dan says: "I told you it’s not that simple. Mel and I…we’ve been together since we were your age. We have a house, a baby…we have a whole life together." He's talking about marriage, a serious commitment, which works as the perfect parallel to Dean and Castiel’s long-term relationship.
So when the Qareen appears in the form of Dan and rips Stacy's heart out from her chest (and vice versa a little further into the episode), we are still talking about broken hearts. But we get confused because Dan admits his love for the babysitter, and therefore could never hurt her. Because you don't hurt the one you love (obviously if Dean had listened a little closer to Dan, he surely would have recalled that nefarious chat with Casifer where he proposed to put Dean in danger).
So, going with the assigned roles, let’s say if Dan is Dean and Stacy is Amara, does that mean when Dan is saying he loves Stacy, not his wife, that Dean loves Amara, and not Cas? No. Not at all. Because the upcoming scenes and what Dean says by the end of the episode will clarify: THE KISS AMARA GAVE HIM IS A CURSE AND HE IS NOT IN LOVE WITH HER.
Now, I want to share with you my beta's clarifying thought, that calmed my shipping heart...
"Hi, destielle here, rudely taking advantage of beta’ing to add a thought: I think the babysitter merely posed as a temptation, something Dan tried out because it’s kind of forbidden and dangerous and therefore exciting, plus conquering a girl stimulates his self-worth but - breaking up with his wife never really was a heartfelt intention. Because getting it on with the babysitter is not only a clichée, but also only fun for a little while, because everything, in the end, will lose its newness and therefore allurement and so I suspect he knew that sticking to what he has, a long-term thing that lasts, is the better road to go by far. Plus there’s a difference between true love and excitement induced infatuation. The ladder will fade, love will last and grow stronger bc it’s built upon a solid foundation."
This is so true, and couldn't be more agreed! Thank you Hannah! 😚💕
The Cursed Kiss
This was a very blatantly straight forward episode, because first it was opened with a recall to AMARA's kiss to Dean. And then they showed us how the Qareen’s curse jumped from one to the next victim via kiss. So, you have a deadly kiss, a cursed kiss… The mark of Cain’s kiss, darkness’s kiss, AMARA's kiss… that wasn't love, that wasn't good. AMARA's kiss is dark, bad, cursed and deadly.
AMARA's kiss poop? 🤣
Who's in Dean's heart?
We already know the answer, but let's dig into it anyway…
The first scene with the Winchester brothers takes place in the Bunker's kitchen the morning after Valentine's day and Dean is having a hard time trying to restore himself… he's walking funny on his way to the fridge… if you know what I mean. But mostly we wonder why that is. He's not the guy for a one-night-only-girl anymore, so what was the matter? And immediately after that question we asked ourselves Dean says this to his brother…
Sam: Is that a hickey? (Dean spits out his food)

Dean: And? It was valentine’s day. I can’t help it if I’m a hopeless romantic.
Sam: You got half of that right.
Dean: Just doing my civic duty. Helping all the single ladies. You know the best thing about February 14th. You don’t have to be Mr. Right. Just Mr. Right Now
Sam: That’s classy
Is this the old Dean talking? Nope, definitely not. It’s Mr Dean ‘Broken-hearted’ Winchester talking. And we get it now… Saint Valentine's day, he wasn't with his Mr. Right (Cas)... He just took what was right in that moment. It’s very very sad. But Dean needs to frame it more classy, to make it more cool.
Now, I want to talk a little about Melissa. When she realizes she maybe went too far with her spell, she turns to Dean and Sam, and she says this…
Melissa: yes. A return to love spell. All I had to do was chant it and seal it with a kiss. I didn’t mean for any of this to happen. I swear. I just wanted my husband back.
This is sad too, and gives us, if we take that as a feeling mirrored from Cas, a perfectly reasonable explanation as to why he said ‘Yes’ to Lucifer in the cage. And again it’s the motive of the CURSED KISS, one with dark intentions… we already learned AMARA's kiss is bad and not good, but now we get even more confirmation of this when Dean kisses Melissa, taking the curse on him that way. WE GET IT WRITERS!

Sam: So the curse is transmittable?
Just like Cain's mark, the curse, the kiss, the love spell, all of them are transmittable.
Sam: Apparently not in him. The person who holds the Qareen’s heart is the one who commands it.
Sam is giving us a lot of clues here: Who has AMARA's heart? Dean. But who has Dean's heart? Castiel. So Dean can direct his own will to reject AMARA's offer. And this is the secret why DEAN CAN RESIST HER.
So, with this statement in our heads, let's analyze the Qareen’s and Dean’s encounter…
The Qareen takes the form of people’s darkest desires. So… he took AMARA's shape.
The Qareen sensed Dean's longing in his heart, but it failed in personifying it. Because Dean's darkest desire is not dark, it’s full of light, but is hidden, because it’s so repressed. His deepest is a secret, it’s his love for Castiel.
Amara: Who I am doesn’t matter. The real question is who are you?
Dean: What do you mean who am I?
She can't read him, Dean Winchester is a mystery, she can't get to his true feelings, she can't reach them. Dean has them sealed away very, very deep down in his soul. Like a treasure.
Amara: You’re a mystery. I can see inside your heart. Feel the love you feel. Except it’s cloaked in shame. When it comes to this, you can’t help yourself, so why fight it. Just give in.
When she says Dean Winchester is a mystery it’s because she really can't read the truth in him, but she knows it’s somewhere in there. She feels it, but can't quite grasp it. And she says 'it's clocked in shame.' Because it is, because Dean Winchester is ashamed of his feelings for Castiel. He knows he shouldn't feel how he feels for his best friend, for a ‘man’, for an angel. He thinks he doesn't deserve him. So, when the Qareen touches herself saying 'when it comes to this, you can't help yourself, so why fight it. Just give in.' It’s simple when it’s about women, when it’s about a curse, a love spell, the attraction is there, the curse is there, he knows it, but they're not Mr. Right. They're just there… the girls on Saint Valentine's Day are available and Amara is almost irresistible because of the curse. But Dean Winchester doesn't give in to that because he loves Castiel.
And then, Qareen!Amara can’t rip Dean's heart from his chest. Because she is not the one in his heart.
We need more evidence? What about this last dialogue between Sam and Dean…
Dean: It was Amara
Sam: That surprise you?
Dean: That doesn’t surprise you?
Sam: Honestly?
Dean: Honestly? You seriously think the sister of God is my deepest darkest desire?
Sam: She isn’t?
Dean: No! She can’t be!

Dean puts all his fierceness into these words, BECAUSE HE IS SURE! HE KNOWS POSITIVELY IT CAN'T BE, BECAUSE HE LOVES CASTIEL.
Sam: Why not?
Dean: Why? Because if she is that means that I’m…
Sam: Means you’re what? Complicit? Weak? Evil?
Dean: For starters, yeah
Dean is afraid of the power Amara has over him, that’s it.
Dean: Standing here right now, every bone in my body wants to run her through. Send her back to that hole she crawled out of. But when I’m near her, I don’t know. Something happens and I can’t explain it, but to call it desire or love…it’s not that. I’m screwed man. We wanna kill the darkness. We need to kill the darkness. And I don’t think I can. I’m sorry to do that to you, ya know, but when it comes right down to it…
The most important thing here is that Dean is aware of the curse, of the power, he knows what Amara does to him, and he is sure that it is NOT LOVE. How can he be sure that it’s not love? BECAUSE HE KNOWS WHAT LOVE IS, BECAUSE THERE'S SOMEONE IN HIS HEART ALREADY, AND THAT'S CASTIEL.
To Conclude:
If the episode with Mildred showed us Dean was pining for someone, telling us Dean is in love with someone, then this one is yelling in our faces that person isn't Amara. And if it’s not Amara plus ‘cloaked in shame’, and Dean has gotten his heart broken recently by someone we know, we are talking about the same person: Castiel.
So it’s logical! And we made the equation just like the writers wanted us to solve it: DEAN WINCHESTER IS IN LOVE WITH CASTIEL, BUT HE'S ASHAMED OF THIS FEELING. AND AMARA HAS A DARK POWER OVER HIM THROUGH A TRANSMITTABLE CURSE: CAIN'S MARK. CANONICAL FACTS! But yeah, I'm not discovering a new world here...
I hope you liked this mess. See you in the next one!

oh this is a very thoughtful reply. i actually wholeheartedly agree with you. i think finn is a very compelling character as you said - he was definitely the one i was always rooting for, even though i love rey and poe dearly. i agree that his story could have been THE story to resonate with the current generation of star wars fans. it's sad because what kind of snuffed his character out was clearly just flat out racism from higher ups at disney... it's no in-universe reason that makes him act this or that way, it's that his character was truly pushed to the side. rogue one and other star wars projects had nothing to do with that.
i say the sequels couldn't have said what i believe rogue one said because the producers were afraid of drawing comparisons between the two. anyone who was a sw fan around 2016 knows that a lot of the backlack tfa got was that it was a new hope rehash, and i believe bc of that moving forward the screenwriters and directors were instructed to make the new movies New capital n. the problem with that is that, like you, i believe tfa started a story about the hero we can relate to, the hero who isn't perfect but is sure trying their hardest, like rogue one had already done. you have a reformed imperial officer that has a heart of gold who wants to do well? hmm, that's finn, but it's also bodhi. you have a soldier that very strongly wants do to the right thing but maybe goes about it funny? poe, but also cassian. you have a heroine who just wants to know where she belongs but that turns out to be a lot more complicated than she first thought? jyn, but also rey. r1 had the advantage of being done with the message in one movie, so it was out and done before the st really even took off, meaning it occupied the spot the st was going for. granted, r1 is a much darker take on the ideas and the two could have certainly coexisted but i can see the peeps @ disney shying away from things that maybe would've been nice to see just bc it's reminiscent of other sw media, namely r1. that's of course not to say that the same idea can't be explored in different contexts (rogue one is SO sad! can we have a nuanced take on the hero where the hero and all his frens don't fuckin DIE!!!) but that would take, above all, a very cohesive storyline throughout the three movies and lol i won't touch that with a ten feet pole but we got a lot of things out of st cohesion was not one
so the problem as i see it isn't that the sequel trilogy didn't know what it was about, or didn't have compelling enough characters, or competent writers or anything of the sort, but it's just that i think the direction of the story they were going for had already been done. i think it failed to be that because of purely corporate reasons, which is SUCH a fuckin dumb reason to be denied what would've been a great trilogy. so it's not that i think finn's (or anyone's) story could never be compelling, it's just that i believe r1 and the backlash tfa received ended up moving the subsequent movies away from the storyline of the gray hero. so yeah actual purely rl boring and logistic reasons why it makes sense to me that the st didn't work, not anything wrong i see w the characters (esp not finn my beloved <3<3)
me: so you see star wars can be understood as a hero story for every generation each trilogy was released in. the og being released in the 70s means it’s both hopeful and cynical, it tells the story of a hero who does good despite how close evil is to him, who’s kind no matter the circumstance, even when everything seems bleak. his goodness doesn’t exactly fix everything or everyone but it does set the universe a little more straight, a little closer to an ideal people aren’t even sure exists. the prequels are actually a cautionary tale: this is what will happen to your heroes if you do not give them proper attention and care, this is what will happen to the best of us if you only teach them repression and violence, this is what will become of your youth if you don’t give it a fair shot at being good. a very 90s/early 00s message if you ask me. now the sequels never stood a chance at being the hero story this generation needed—
the burglar who broke into my house: because rogue one already did that perfectly
me: exactly. Now,
