I had thought that there was a Svaðilfari and Loki mention somewhere in the comics but I couldn’t really remember and then oh yeah!! Where else would it be than a Marvel Pride issue 🫠

So for some reason Marvel decided to put Svaðilfari in a Pride issue about a bunch of Loki’s exes kidnapping him. So Svaðilfari is basically shown as a whole ex of Loki’s. He’s also depicted as more of an anthropomorphic horse-man than an actual wild animal. But idk it still feels weird to me

I don’t know if Svaðilfari is referenced any other times in the comics, but I think the fact the writers brought him up in a Pride issue is… not great. It kinda comes across as another case of people associating Loki’s queerness with fucking animals. Also, as op mentioned, it’s debated upon whether Svaðilfari and Loki’s *time together* was consensual or not, so the inclusion of Svaðilfari in the issue can seem extra distasteful because of that

I just feel like it isn’t handled well whenever it’s brought up and I think Marvel/fans need to stop bringing it up period
