aoki imojen was born to understand what it was to live a life with no structure. her father was part of a rising band in the 90s, toured all over small venues in japan that they slowly rose to a known local name, and imojen has seen all the chaos unfold from backstage in the arms of her mom. however, slowly transitioning into the year of 2000s, the economy was still struggling from the lost decade and the income from touring never sufficed for a growing family. imojen’s father was forced to leave the music scene with the help of her mother’s influence: “it’s time to be serious”; and work multiple jobs in order to fully provide for his first child and the another growing one inside his wife’s womb.

growing up, imojen’s no stranger to music and her father loved to introduce rock music and bands to imojen’s upbringing. she adored b’z and the gazette, and it leaves no doubt that imojen’s father had been her greatest influence in life. as she grew older, not only did they share identical music preferences and influences, but imojen’s learned to play various instruments— the bass being her favorite. imojen’s also stemmed from that infamous reckless behavior his father’s known for back in the day, and when the teenage years came, so did the impetuous reputation begin.

imojen and her mother aren’t exactly as close as she was with her father. in fact, their relationship was a toe out of the civil line. it got worse when imojen started to focus on the band she created with friends instead of school and late night practices turned to never returning home for a few days and having the audacity to blatantly lie when asked where she was when asked. it’s hard not to blame her mother when she assumed things for the worst. imojen’s gone quite defiant especially when she discovered that her and her father’s relationship had began to run askew. imojen blames her mother’s interference with her father’s music career as much as her father did, she loved him so much that she was completely blindsided to always take his side. and when the divorce papers came and went, imojen chose her father as she always would.

her father got a job as a musician locally and eventually overseas, however, money didn’t come by so fast and easy initially. instead of going to university, imojen invested in learning the arts in tattoo design and worked as a tattoo artist to help with the bills. the pair finally thought to settle in korea when imojen’s father got a permanent job. and at this time, imojen has decided to try pursue a career as a musician as well, hoping that the thrill in her early band days are still well stored in her system.

* 𝖘𝖊𝖈𝖔𝖓𝖉 𝖈𝖍𝖆𝖕𝖙𝖊𝖗 ╱ ᴘʀᴇꜱᴇɴᴛ .

imojen can never be satisfied of living in the same area for so long, or at least under the roof with the watchful eye of her father. work’s payed well and imojen decided to move out and get an apartment of her own. hence, she found dallyeog, parties almost every single day, drags everyone into spontaneous adventures, comes home terribly drunk and wakes up with a huge hangover—well, still pretty normal. aside from the norm, imojen working at the tattoo parlor and taking gigs at bars as a bassist, imojen’s investing in writing music as well. she hopes one day to finally finish at least one song she’s been procrastinating for far too long and convince her father to make them a rock duo instead, but a band of her own would fantastic too.

* 𝖙𝖍𝖎𝖗𝖉 𝖈𝖍𝖆𝖕𝖙𝖊𝖗 ╱ ᴄʜᴀʀᴀᴄᴛᴇʀ .

imojen looks quite mean at first glance, and it doesn’t help that she’s indifferent towards anyone who isn’t part of already her friend. she doesn’t hate, hate is such a strong word, she simply doesn’t have the attention span for people that don’t interest her or she doesn’t know fully well to enjoy a conversation with.

honestly has the gina linetti energy “how was i supposed to know there’d be consequences for my actions” as she literally does anything she wants before her brain can even weigh the pros and cons to it.

imojen enjoys taking risks despite the relaxed attitude and seemingly nonchalant view in life. it might be a surprise to learn that she’s quite ambitious, but underneath, she does aim for the highs (both meanings) in life, except there isn’t exactly a time frame for those and would much rather pursue them steadily.

everyone can depend on imojen to have a good time, or if someone needed a friend to vent to, she can surprisingly be all ears, but never follow her words of advice. she does mean well, it’s just that she doesn’t know what she’s saying half the time and is quite reckless,, like ask her to pick between two choices and she’ll advice you to take the riskier one bc “it’s fun don’t be a prude”.

she is more sympathetic than she let on. imojen’s not very vocal especially with her emotions and on what she exactly feels about other people’s situation. serious conversations? catch her yeet away from those. they render her uncomfortable, most especially if it is about her. however, seeing her friends gloomy doesn’t sit right with her that she does anything to make them crack a smile.

believes that people should be left to roam free and that authority is useless and ruins the fun— hence why she’d always be caught defying them. yes, she uses her brain, but acts more towards intuition and what she felt like doing that day. so yes, she might loves setting her life on the line.

* 𝖋𝖔𝖚𝖗𝖙𝖍 𝖈𝖍𝖆𝖕𝖙𝖊𝖗 ╱ ᴡᴀɴᴛᴇᴅ ᴄᴏɴɴᴇᴄᴛɪᴏɴꜱ .

plastic hearts ╱ someone whom imojen shares a passion for music with. the both of you are like peas in a pod as you both are in the same wavelengths as each other. they may not have the same types of music, but open enough to share a plethora of music playlists.

angels like you ╱ the typical bad-good influence trope wherein imojen’s reckless behavior and liberated thoughts on legalities have gotten your muse in various dangerous but fun adventures. on a flip, your muse may be the reason why imojen’s woken up at 8 in the morning, bright, well, and not hungover.

prisoner ╱ an angsty and toxic relationship that imojen could not get enough of. everyone sees this partnership (romantic or platonic) of destructive nature, both of you may or may not know, but regardless it can never be broke off no matter how hard both try.

- jk and you vibed so fast that you became close friends very quickly (the chaotic duo that tested hyung line's last nerves when you were in your mischievous mood)

-you sorta became an honorary member of the maknae line and after you pulled a prank on jin that included a chocolate cake, marmite and liquorice and ended up with jin's face shrivelling so bad that it may have caused him his first wrinkles

(his revenge was to serve you kimchi bokkeumbap with kimchi that had gone bad, which resulted in the worst heartburn you ever had ("an eye for a eye, y/n" - you, drinking your 3rd mint tea that night: "fair enough"), you redeemed yourself by buying him hyaluronic acid lotion and his favourite strawberry cheesecake, jk just laughed his ass off to the misery jin and you went through and blackmailed jin with marmite whenever they bickered ("it will hit u when u least expect it, hyung" - "I can't believed I raised lucifer himself"))

-anyway, jk and you are always very playful together, and you laugh so much when you're with him bc of his antics

-he doesn't mind being extra goofy to make you laugh, it lifts his spirits as well

-hates to see you sad/upset, namjoon and jk once spoke about you, after namjoon asked him about your guys' friendship and for the first time in ages he was sure jungkook had deeper feelings for someone, as he said: "I don't mind making a fool out of myself, if it brings a smile on y/n's face. hyung, I know this is going to sound weird but sometimes I feel like it is my purpose to show y/n everything good and funny, this is something I wanna keep doing for a long time." (tbh namjoon teared up)

-your guys' fav pastimes were watching cartoons/animes and you had a fiery competition going on in any kind of jump and run games, especially for sonic (you once beat jk after a 4 hour session and he threw a dramatic fit until you made him hot chocolate and he finally calmed down)

-would show you tons of pics and vids of gureum and filmed every minute of your first encounter

-your personal photographer tbh, you two could go chill in a parking lot and he would still do the most aesthetic shots

-despite all the funny moments you two also had serious conversations together. moments like that were rare and mostly after 2am when you two shared secrets with each other you didn't dare to speak about at daytime, like your views on love where jungkook first thought of how much he wants to be your "loved one"

- cannot concentrate for shit when you're watching him during dance practice, so hobi told you, in a nice way, to stay away from dance practice for the sake of bts and jk apologised like 12 times to everyone, he got better at focusing over time and you watched him once in a while... but he'd get v shy when he had to do hip thrusts and stuff, you'd just laugh it off but in reality you were just trying to hide you how much he actually affects you, especially during a choreo like that

-the boys teased him quite a lot about you and he'd get all whiny and say it's not like he had a crush on you or something

- so namjoon took out his phone and showed jk that you updated your story with some food pic where you could see a man's hand in the background, who was also tagged in the pic

-the guys stopped teasing him the second they realized how upset jk actually was (he went completely silent, eyebrows furrowed), yoongi just stated the obvious: "our maknae is in love, huh", the boys smiled and jungkook nodded with a sad look on his face

-the next time you visited the guys jungkook was visibly flustered around you and would be just overwhelmed with the entire situation bc he wanted to know who that guy was, but he didn't know how to ask and neither did he want to intrude and what if you're taking it the wrong way and say that it's none of his business and suddenly he loses his best friend because of some stupid guy in a stupid picture and some stupid hypothetical date.... overthinking at its finest, as you can see...

-you didn't know why he became so awkward around you, the boys obviously knew but they couldn't say anything without risking jungkook completely losing his shit, but jungkook avoided you and left early when you were there and you were like "... why"...well the boys knew why but they couldn't say anything

-you tried talking to him but he tried to avoid you since he got so flustered around you that he'd stuttering, get embarrassed about it and then leave...

-you asked the boys about it, but they wouldn't say anything but tbh this was almost painful to watch for them bc they love their maknae but they knew this wasn't going anywhere.... so their eldest took the matter into his own hands and talked to you and asked you about the guy in your story.....

-shortly after that, the guys went to europe for vacation. jungkooks airport look was something for the goth look book once again, while the other guys looked bright and ready for their time off, and jin was like "oh here we go again" and once again jk helped out...

- the boys knew he kept himself busy the entire time after things got awkward with you, but they didn't exactly know what he was doing in his studio, only taehyung knew he was editing something

-so the boys were enjoying their time off and even got jungkook's mind off of you with some sightseeing and other leisure activities they had planned

-but at the end of the day, he thought of you and read your last messages over and over again. the last time you had texted was when you wished him a good time in europe and he thanked you. he sighed as he realized how your long texts with each other had turned into such short ones within 1 week

- yoongi: i cannot take this anymore, we need to do something about this

jin: i did. i invited y/n to join us.

the boys: ???

jin: all expenses on the company.

the boys: ?????????

-also, this was the first time you guys were separated, and it gave him the chance think about what he truly wants for you two, friendship or more.. he decided to confide in namjoon and jin about it and seek advice

namjoon: i'm sure y/n likes you too, and even if not, which I really doubt, at least you'll get it sorted out that way and carry on

jk: hyung, see that's the thing. if my feelings will not be reciprocated, i won't be able to continue a friendship... that's why I am so scared.

jin: y/n's coming here, tomorrow, jk, only for you, so i'm pretty sure your feelings will be reciprocated. just be honest about them.

jk: what do you mean y/n's gonna be here tomorrow?

jin: exactly that.

jk: with all due respect, hyung-nim, what the fuck

-so jin explained how he asked you about joining them bc jk was so down and reassured jk that he didn't tell you anything about his feelings and that you solely come there bc you also had 2 weeks off and you wanted to spend time with him, even though jin had some convincing to do since you thought it might be awkward between jk and you

- jin: also, the supposed date on her story? that was just a night out among co-workers, so it was definitely not a date, I asked y/n about it

jk: ....... why didn't you tell me sooner? why are you telling me that a week later, when I'm in another country??

jin: remember the time you put actual fish oil in my bungeoppang?

jin: see, you did this and I'm still arranging you a romantic getaway, like the merciful god i am

jk: oh my god

-jk texted you the same night and asked you where you are and said that jin told him everything. "maybe I should let the food war continue after all..", you thought and rolled your eyes. you sent jungkook a pic from the view you had from your hotel room, where you arrived a few hours prior, and he could clearly recognize that you were indeed there, as unbelievable as it was for him.

you: I can't believe jin ruined the surprise

jk: trust me, it still was a huge surprise for me

you: a good one, I hope?

jk: definitely... you know, i actually wanted to text you.

you: about the past week, i suppose?

jk: kinda. i'm going to send you something. it was done rather quickly, so have some mercy on me with that.. and please don't be mad at me

you: ok..? you're kind of worrying me here

jk: and y/n.. i won't say anything about it, it should speak for itself.. and please don't say anything about it until I see you tomorrow, ok?

-what he sent you was a gcf with your name as the title and what followed was a beautiful compilation of your favourite moments you and jungkook had shared, and some moments you weren't even aware of the fact that he was filming you..some scenes, for example: your guys' trip to lotte world, you giggling into the camera when turned the cam to both of you wearing bunny ears, you laughing your ass off while filming him dancing to cl's "hello bitches", you on the day you went to the planetarium together, the time you came over to his place with food after he was too exhausted to do anything after practice and you watched "spirited away" together, then you playing with gureum while he giggles behind the camera, you being bts' no 1 hype man during their concert preparations, some videos where you cheered for him during the days you two spent apart bc of award shows.... and at the end of the video there was a single picture of you two, where you smiled widely into the camera, while he looked at you with a shy smile on his face... and finally, you heard his voice saying the words which appeared on screen: "be my loved one".

- the next day, jungkook was waiting for you in the café opposite the church, where you would come to as well. he was nervous as hell and honestly he still wasn't sure if you're actually going to come there or if jin played a prank on him. he checked his texts again and again and just stared at the "read" sign beneath the text and the video he sent you and mentally slapped himself for telling you to keep your answer to yourself until you meet him in the café. he started overthinking again, to a point where he zoned out so much that he didn't even notice 6 guys with huge sunglasses and a suspicious lot of newspapers, sitting at another table what finally made him snap back into reality was the sound of someone pulling the chair at his table, which instantly made him turn around only to see you sitting down next to him, right at the moment when the bells started ringing. undoubtedly, the colour yellow has never made jungkook happier.

[ elijah kane ] ◈ — all efforts to get him into studying how to make robotics like hyacinth have resulted in a lot of miniature woodland creatures able to sprint across desks. it’s not exactly what anybody had in mind, but hey, you never know if ilya might not want to send in an actual animal for something he has going on. they can call up sugar kane industries ( big face-palm here ) to take care of the job. ( wyatt voice: seriously, you couldn’t think of anything better than sugar kane. ) / hyacinth kane has a nice ring to it. elijah has tested out several different nicknames: sugar kane also for them, mistah k, ( missus k? ), cinthy ... cindy ... ( sean: yeah! cindy k! like cindy crawford! / who the fuck is cindy crawford? / wyatt — / how old are you. ) / he’s had a life-long dream to be able to go scuba-diving off the coast of — some exotic island he can’t remember the name of. beforehand, it was one of those things that he was too afraid to do, but full-out war changes your perspective. in truth, he’s always been a water baby, growing up going swimming in the local rivers and running pellmell down the dirt lanes. he grew out of it, and then grew back into it. whether or not he’s going to be able to do that without monroe tagging along ( and then by default, ilya, and then probably hojin will want to come, and then ravi will have to, and then oliver will want to watch over them and then jinho will buy a whole yacht with his dumb vampire money — ) — ah, well, there’s worse people to spend an extended holiday with. his father will come along too: sit on the deck in a lawn chair and drink a virgin margarita as he deserves after putting up with this whole extended family. and with his son being a you-know-what.

[ alice bedi ] ◈ — there was a time where she was interested in wigs. she had percival sit down on her shack’s bed and watch as she perused through at least fifteen different styles of wigs. each one got a firm head-shake: too rough on your complexion; lilac looks good as a colour, but the style is horrid; why did they think it was a good idea to make a bob that length? a tough customer. she returned back to wearing veils, her preferred style being that of mantilla, or the veil that’s worn to chapel over a jade comb. due to the volume and length of her natural curls, she rarely wears the combs at all, but will if it’s a particularly formal occasion, like that time she accompanied percival to a ‘high-society event.’ ( translation: they crashed a party because he was bored, and she had a bad feeling about him going alone. ) / as the local librarian’s assistant, she’s the first to get in the way when someone is overtly curious: why are you asking so many questions? hmm? the irony is that she herself asks just as many questions — she insists that the difference is: she reads the room and knows when it’s inappropriate to ask them. ( and if she knows it’s inappropriate to ask them, and instead chooses to risk asking them regardless, it’s because she knows it’ll smooth out in the end. / despite what she wears daily, one of her most favourite colours is moss green. there are a multitude of reasons. moss is her favourite foliage. it’s similar to algae, another favourite foliage. and it reminds her of someone who she says is her sister; however, anybody who knows her, knows that she has no blood-siblings. one or the other might be a lie, or both might be the truth. when she’s in a mood, she’ll smear the moss at the base of her neck like a perfume, a splotch of green beneath white.

[ huang shen ] ◈ — he designed an irrigation system to work, specific to his farm, to be able to make rice paddies despite the surrounding environment. it’s a southern crop in the united states, but there was no way he was going to move to the south just to expand the business. his entire family was so relieved about it that they danced through the sprinklers and set off fireworks — and none of them are really into that kind of thing. it’s particularly incredible due to the area they’re in, being very prone to sometimes too much drought and too much rain, and both are responsible for driving out selling numbers of crops. his plan is to switch into an agricultural degree, and perhaps even expand it into engineering, so that he can continue helping this way. / one of his surprises for algernon was learning sign language. for the longest time, months even, shen made it out like he had no idea what was being said, and let damien, as surly as ever, be the translator when algernon was unwilling or unable to speak. in the background, however, he was working with a tutor and seeking to understand better what it meant to be both HoH and mute. then, when algernon’s birthday came around, everyone went silent ( holy god he was so nervous ) and he gave an entire romantic, long speech entirely in sign language. he’s sure that some of it got lost in translation due to how hard his hands were shaking, but the way that algernon kissed him afterwards, it didn’t seem to affect much. now, they communicate constantly on this even ground. / he’s started up horseback riding again — and has roped tobias into doing it alongside him. tobias might have grace on the stage floor, but certainly not on the back of a horse; he somehow ended up upside-down beneath the horse’s belly, and then fell down in a tangle of limbs. shen has taken to the western side of things, re-learning how to barrel race and rope cattle; but he and tobias have had to separate their lessons due to these antics. lucas isn’t allowed to come to any of them; his stupid remarks send them into fits of laughing. ( bold of us to assume he doesn’t just sit in the truck and shout anyways. )

[ deok bae ] ◈ — due to the empire no longer supporting his upgrades, nor looking in his general direction, he has had to find other ways to obtain new modifications. this is including, but not limited to, going and pulling them out of other people’s bodies as catharsis — but usually, he defects to yuri and silas to fix him up. to his chagrin, the LED-light in his forehead has absolutely no use whatsoever, only displaying his brain’s processing as a symptom of installation. he pulled it out himself via the tip of a knife’s blade. the next time that he’s seen by those who haven’t seen him in quite some time, he might be unrecognisable. i am not deok bae — perhaps deok bae is no longer himself either. if there was no connection to eli in his head, he would forget that; perhaps he would merely succumb to the machinery, perhaps he would succumb to the wolf-dom. there are several pairs of teeth in his mouth awaiting for their moment to bite. / when he was a teen, his version of ‘sneaking out’ would be to wheel his chair to the gardens at the back of the temple, where he would sit and think for hours and hours. his father would come and find him there; sometimes, master jhcor would instead. his father would return him back to where he needed to be, but master jhcor would sit beside him and gaze serenely until bae felt the need to speak what was on his mind: his angers, his fevers, his rages. one time, he was surprised to see that it was not master jhcor, nor master deok, but zan coming to sit with him. his heart had sat in his throat the whole time, half-expecting zan to laugh at him or say something particularly piteous. instead, the conversation was — well, looking back, absurdly normal, all things considering. when bae blinked tiredly, zan rose and took the handles of his chair and took him back. he hadn’t intended to ask him to do so, but it was done anyway. / bae drinks a lot of soda. it’s somewhat fitting, if you believe all that talk about how coca-cola can double as a cleaner due to the high carbonation and way it’s made. he does seem to get shiny after several cans — it’s also convenient that he can’t experience sugar-highs nor malfunctions of the liver or stomach due to too much consumption. he considers himself to be a soda connoisseur as a result. he offers a lot of hmm, that’ll taste disgusting comments that annoy the shit out of the others — but then kisung takes a drink and bae ends up being right, so there’s no regrets.

there’s ... none that i dislike. there’s moments of come on, but that’s bound to happen. i think the favourite ships are the ... guardian / princess vibes ( whether it’s literal or not: akane / the samurai, quinn / sehrin, jian / elaine ). i also love the growing from previous immaturities towards each other ( grey / tobias, jihoon / wyatt, playboy / jordan ) — and himbos of course ( hojin / ravi!! ) there’s also the whole ... tsh, vampiric aesthetic that we get ( minzhe / yongha ) ... the ones like jisoo / mingfei, cyrian / ulysses, cadoc / pestilence ( exploring violence against but without the stickiness ). of course, if i keep going, i’ll end up listing all of them and then where would we be.

most adventurous thing you’ve ever done in your life? okay so technically this wasn’t me who did it but i was part of the adventure. when me and my boyfriend were just “friends” ie. liked each other and knew we liked each other but were too scared to admit it. anyway, we had this elaborate plan to shave our youth group leader’s head if we were able to bring in a certain amount of food for the food drive during vbs week. so yeah we spent like three days planning the whole thing out and then decided to go price shopping at walmart with all of our younger siblings bc we needed supervision or something lol to see how many individual things of food we could buy with $20 each we ended up just getting like 20 huge boxes of ramen and then his sister ended up throwing up so we took her home and then went back to church where my car was parked but instead of turning to get to church my boyfriend decides to go straight through the stop light (it was green okay) and spontaneously drive up into the foothills. well we get to the top of the foothills and we’re at the lake and we all get out to look at the city and my boyfriend claims that we need to document this moment so he takes a selfie with all of us and we somehow ended up right next to each other in it and i only found this out like three months ago (this happened back in june) that he only took the picture because he wanted one of us together in case we didn’t start dating lol so sweet and yeah, that was a very long story but i needed context instead of just saying “yeah we drove up a mountain”

zinc white; how are you really feeling today? no one-word answers please! — mmm i feel like i’m at the gates of a new life bc i’m truly about to start looking for a job and i guess i’m like… nostalgic for something that i haven’t really left behind yet? i might have ups and downs but i love my life, being ��free’ all day, talking to my friends, going to the gym whenever etc… it’s kind of scary that everything is about to change, i’ll have real responsibilities and a tight schedule and idk, it’s just going to be different and possibly how the rest of my life could look indefinitely. but i’m also also excited, and also very grateful for what i have, i’m having a very nice night and i love my friends

cadmium yellow; when you think of the word “happy” what’s the first thing that comes to mind? — bits and pieces of my life. it’s small moments but they mean everything. being on the beach with no worries at all. going to the cinema with my brother to see the new star wars movie, how i’m always about to tear up as it starts. crying happy tears in the metro while going the gym. how i feel when i see my parents at the airport in rome and everything that might weighing me down

naples yellow; where do you feel most at home? — mm… a while ago i would have said here and only here in paris but tbh, my parents’ home in rome also always feels like home, although in a different way, as if i go back to being younger, a slightly different version of myself back there. so yeah, maybe paris would be the number one place, but where my family is, i feel at home, also at the seaside.

raw sienna; with whom do you feel most at home? — myself, my mom, my dad and my brother

golden ochre; describe the relationship you have with your closest friend. — i have a few very close friends and i love them all a looot, but i’ll choose one in particular for the purposes of this reply, sooo. ummm i love her so much and i want to be there for her no matter what, i think she’s super fun and we have great times together, but we also talk about serious stuff, she’s been there for me through a lot. she’s interesting and cute, but also quite a deep and complex person, which is something i really appreciate and find quite fascinating, like i love being around people like that, i love when they share thoughts / ideas / views of the world that i wouldn’t have come up with myself, i find it enriching. of course i wish she was always happy and serene and that’s not always the case, but who is? and i mean, she’s my friend, i just love the whole package. she is an amazing listener and for that i’ll never stop being grateful, gives amazing advice, has the best stories that often make me crack tf up, great taste in music and in general... and a lot more

golden deep; what’s your favorite season? — i love summer, but i also like a chilly autumn, especially on a sunny day, with the wind kind of brisk… but not necessarily, rainy days are cool too and idk, autumn is underrated but i love it, i love how cosy it feels, how comforting it feels when the weather sucks and you don’t feel ‘guilty’ for lazying around the house, how sweating at the gym becomes more satisfactory, love layered clothes etc… yay

cadmium orange; what do you like to do on your days off? — go to the gym, make a meal for myself (i like making big salads with lots of different things in them, especially if some elements require cooking, it feels like a treat to me bc i normally don’t have the time / the energy for actual cooking), indulge in some dessert, a walk by myself or with some friend…

orange lake; do you have anyone you can turn to when you’re sad? — yes, my friends are quite dependable (hope this is the right word?), like maybe not all of them all the time, but there’s always someone willing to listen. + my brother

titans; do you prefer slow mornings or relaxing evenings? — why not both gkgkggkgk but i’m actually more productive in the morning and i don’t really mind starting my day as soon as i wake up, so i’ll go for evenings.

red ochre; are you more right-brained (creative) or left-brained (analytical)? — i think i’m a mix of both in a way that like… i’m neither?? i try to be analytical but i’m too emotional and i guess i’m creative but i’m not truly an artist so i really don’t know, maybe from the outside someone could interpret me better? if i think about it, i think i manage to be quite analytical when it comes to others, but as far as i’m personally concerned, i live in fantasy, hypothesis, this sort of nostalgic and ‘artsy’ world of mine, maybe?

burnt sienna; is there a painting that brings you peace when you look at it? — nothing that comes to my mind like that, my favorite artists don’t exactly bring me peace, i like art that’s kind of exciting and often colorful (matisse, kandinsky, picasso, rothko) so i’m not sure, but my parents have the print of a beautiful gaugin painting in their room, and that’s always reminded me of home and calm and it’s also gorgeous, so i generally associate gauguin’s girls to this peaceful, blissful feeling.

english red; what animal do you relate to most? — a house cat. lazy but at times gets the urge to jump around and tire itself just so then they can lay on the sofa with more satisfaction. eating is what makes it get up 90 per cent of the time. cuddlier and more affectionate than it looks

vermilion; what’s your favorite accent? — mmmm i love a british accent but i also love lots of italian accents, especially on my friends, like if i associate it to them i like it even more.

cadmium red; do you have a “type” when it comes to a significant other? — not really, i just want to be loved tbh. i mean of course there’s some personality traits that i always find attractive and i had a gym girl phase but i wouldn’t say i have a type, i’m open to anything

rose; what’s something really positive going on in your life right now? — a friend of mine from the gym and her daughter (also a friend but i know the mom better) spontaneously offered to help me with my curriculum, to make it look prettier and more appealing. i mean it’s nothing huge and i could mention my friends or my family but i think it’s clear that i love them and that they’re a positive part of my life, so i thought i’d share this little bit of unexpected kindness that i’ve been receiving.

1. What’s the smell of your shampoo?

bold of u to assume i ever wash my hair

jk but i guess i will NEVER know because my mom doesn’t keep shampoo labels :’)

2. What’s your aesthetic?

things that relate to space (pulsars, quasars, the sun, planets)

nature (sunsets, the sky, forests, oceans)

i went to japan last summer and i would consider literally everything about it my aesthetic, especially with the way they organize things

anything boujee in terms of fashion: trench coats, pea coats, leather jackets, suits, dresses, jumpsuits, literally anything that naomi smalls and manila luzon wear is right up my alley

3. What’s your favourite time of day?

i really like the hour right before a sunset. the clouds usually start to clear and the colours of the sky start to blend with each other. depending on the sunset, everything is temporarily red or blue, and even if it’s a particularly cloudy or rainy day, there’s a gentle light coming from up above that’s just very serene and relaxing.

i also really like being outside at 3am, albeit that seldom happens. the streets are very quiet, and there’s this sense of peace that floods over me. it’s like, for a moment, i don’t feel overwhelmed and everything is just. calm.

4. What do you like most about the beach?

i love the beach. if i’m being honest, i love the memories i have attached to the place more than the place itself. i’ve been to dozens of beaches around the world, which each have their fair share of beautiful physical attributes that one could potentially admire. some beaches have cliffs that tower over its surroundings, while others have turbulent waters that are filled with flora and fauna; some have soft, white sand and others have mouldable sand that can be used to play with.

5. What do you worry about constantly?

not doing enough in terms of academics, or friendships, or even just in terms of self-care. i also worry about my constant need to overthink and my hunger for spice in my life?? these days it hasn’t been hectic and it’s what i say i always want, but i hate being bored. i have an addiction to thrill, and that’s not healthy either. there is so much i want to do, but i keep delaying everything because i am afraid anything i do won’t be worthwhile. this is why my friends tell me i need to relax lmao :-)

6. What is a song you’ve cried to before?

i literally have playlists reserved for specific moods. i’m too lazy to write out a full playlist bc i put a lot of thought into them but these are the songs that immediately popped into my head that correlate to my current mood:

7. What are some relaxing tips for your followers?

take long walks and listen to some music. allow yourself to catch your breath when things are getting overwhelming and it feels like you can’t get a handle on anything. drink tea, maybe watch a sunset if you have the time. write, write, write your emotions out. watch some funny movies/comedy bits.

8. What are some things that make you tear up?

whenever my friends show me that they really do care for me and appreciate my existence??? the other day my friend got drunk and sent me a heartfelt text that said that they were grateful for me being there for them despite the fact that i have an overwhelming amount of shit to deal with on my own. it was at like 2am and i literally cried. i like being appreciated. also dogs. and when my friends send me memes that remind them of me. i also really love good music (more specifically, albums that feel complete). wholesome shit. and showing my friends that i appreciate their existence, too.

9. What is your favourite thing from each of the five senses?

sound: hearing my friends genuinely laugh. the sound of rain and its pitter patter onto a windowsill. orchestral music. guitar riffs. good cello playing. percussion (love me some good beats). jacob collier’s thought process as he says them out loud. IN-TUNE PIANOS. stradivarius violins. daniel caesar’s soft voice. duets. grainy recordings of jazz.

smell: oatmeal, chocolate chip cookies, fresh barbecue, food in general. the scent on some of my friends (some of them smell like laundry detergent and i love that). onions sizzling on a hot pot.

sight: seeing people smile. more specifically, jacob collier’s smile. dogs. visually aesthetic cinematography. cameras.

touch: silk. cashmere. the playful, soft touch of fingers or lips running along my thighs and/or neck. a thumb gently rubbing onto my hand assuring me everything is going to be okay. the feeling of my fingers as they hop and skid along a piano. a soft kiss on my forehead.

taste: i will literally eat anything don’t try me.

10. What is one alternative reality you’d want to be in?

one where my mind is calm and not constantly confused and unsure of literally everything. one where i know exactly what i want. one where there is no political distress and everyone gets along and people are all decent human beings with a moral backbone stronger than a chocolate eclair. one where i can do things to my fullest potential without having to worry that i didn’t try or do anything hard or well enough.

11. What are some troubles you face on a day to day basis?

waking up and contemplating whether things are worth it. not to be edgy but i know i could be doing so much more than i am currently doing with my life. also procrastination.

12. What is one scene of a book that made you really sad?

honestly? i block off everything sad whenever i read a book, whoops! i guess the one that comes to mind right now is in the third book of the pjo series, when zoe nightshade dies. the whole thing where she was like, “stars, i can see the stars again m’lady.” that was the first time i ever cried while reading a book, and i don’t really cry much when indulging in media.

influence tag game

i was tagged by @infinitelyblankpage! thanks for tagging me!!

rules: give a short summary of your wip, name seven sources of influence on your story, and tag seven people.

hmmm. i’m not sure if i can name seven sources of influence for each wip, but i’ll try. on we go!

my main wip, which is finished but doesn’t have a title yet bc i suck at titling

summary: after being told by his mother to run fromt home before his abusive stepfather, larry, flies completely off the handle, dillan (my mc) hitchhikes all the way to kansas in an attempt to get to his grandparents in arkansas. however, he gets picked up by a cop, who then turns him in to carlson, a retired televangelist and directs a boys’ home in kansas, for a payoff. dillan goes by a fake name (he calls himself josh stevens) and has dyed his hair, because he assumes that larry has given his description to facilities like the home across the country. carlson almost immediately knows he’s lying about something and starts trying to get the information out of him; dillan figures out he needs to leave asap and makes a couple of friends: conrad, a troublemaker in the home; joey, a strong, silent occupant of the home; nick, a telepath who dislikes all the corruption in the home but stays quiet about it; and victoria, the home’s mailgirl. these allies help him escape the home (conrad and victoria go with him). once he’s out, larry commissions carlson to go find him, and conrad/dillan/victoria have to stay one step ahead; nick tries to help from afar, then eventually joins them. from there things progress.

influences:

the talisman by stephen king and peter straub (i actually started this project bc i had started reading the talisman but had to turn it back in to the library, so i wanted something to keep me distracted while i waited to check it out again)

lots of 80s music (welcome to the jungle by guns n roses and save a prayer by duran duran stand out to me particularly)

just 80s culture in general, tbh - not a lot of it shows up in the story (that’s one thing i wish i’d done a better job of, but as far as i can see rn there’s not much room for it in the story’s context), but it did definitely form a lot of it in its early stages

in a way my own home life?? it’s a bit too complicated to explain, but i identify with dillan in a few interesting ways.

that’s . .. honestly all i can think of rn. if i think of more i’ll add them!

my southern gothic wip, which is not finished (it currently sits at chapter two or three) and as a result also doesn’t have a title

summary: my mc hunter wakes up in a strange house. he soon finds out that he’s in a virginia town named fairfalls - the woman whose house he’s in, alma, found his car crashed and burning on the side of the road heading into town and saved him and brought him to her house to recover. hunter can’t remember the drive from pennsylvania, where he’d been staying overnight, to virginia, and has lost three days somewhere (he last remembers it being september 21st, but it’s the 24th). as he settles in to the town as best he can (he does not plan to stay long), he realizes that the town has a severe case of religious mania, and his intuition tells him that the town is hiding something. he meets savannah and her little brother tommy, who are hiding a secret of their own (which is revealed to the reader pretty quickly); that secret gets them involved in what’s happening between hunter and the town. things progress from there. (although i’m not too far into the story at this point, i have a lot of it at least roughly plotted, and ik exactly how i want the last scene to be. let me just tell yall, it’s gonna be a masterpiece.)

influences:

southern gothic music (obviously): songs like bottom of the river by delta rae, devil’s backbone by the civil wars, arsonist’s lullaby by hozier, and boy got it bad by kail baxley often motivated me to lay down the groundwork for this project (and still get me in the mood to continue it)

anything with spooky, secretive towns in it! particularly derry from stephen king’s universe, bc i’m a huge stephen king nerd. (derry, maine, is featured most prominently in king’s book it, but it also is a setting in a few of his other books, such as 11/22/63.)

aesthetic photos and moodboards for southern gothic vibes

those “______ gothic” posts that i see floating around sometimes here on tumblr or screenshotted from tumblr for pinterest

some weird inner fascination i have for corrupt/warped religion?? like this theme comes up pretty strongly in my main wip (the one i talked about first in this post) through carlson, and it’s going to feature even more strongly in this wip, bc it will be (is) the main driving force of the plot. idk why i keep going back to that theme, but alas, here we are.

stephen king’s the shining ! tommy’s character is at least moderately influenced by danny torrance (king masterfully writes a gifted, intelligent child in danny, and that’s what i hope to do with tommy throughout this wip’s various drafts).

that’s all i can think of! if i think of any more, i’ll add them.

1. what is your favorite thing to write when it comes to rping?

i’d say it’s definitely fluff omg i feel like i write that most and it always makes me feel good. in the same vein i like writing silly stuff too! most of the time fluff and silliness go hand in hand in my responses. i’ve found i’ve been doing silly stuff a lot recently and i’m not sure if it’s just bc i don’t have much inspiration for longer responses so i default to short lighthearted stuff?? lmao that’s probably part of it but i also do really enjoy writing fun lighthearted scenarios.

2. what do you struggle with the most when it comes to rping?

ACTION i feel like i’m so terrible at writing action. which sucks bc i’m always wanting to write scary dangerous scenarios but i don’t think i do a good job at describing them. i do try to keep in mind though that it’s so easy to be hyper-critical of your own writing so what i think is poorly written might not come across that way to others.

3. do you remember the first character you ever rped ? if so, who were they?

haruka was my first muse so it’s him! but i guess if you want to be really technical then it was hisoka kurosaki. i “role played” him on gaia for a brief time and i’m using quotations bc i’m so sure he was the most ooc portrayal ever lfhgisj i was really only rping him for fun with my friend and it was solely for the sake of us wanting to indulge in some tsuzuki/hisoka nonsense.

but hey what came out of it was tsuzuki banging hisoka against a kitchen counter so that was fun.

4. if there was one thing you could change about your writing, what would it be and why?

i definitely wish i could be better at describing settings. i just really wish i could create the perfect setting/atmosphere that i envision in my head. but every time i try to do that i feel like i write way too much about the setting that it just doesn’t work well. it either comes across as too “wordy” or it doesn’t make much sense and i feel like i need to focus more on the dialogue instead.

i think in general i want to be able to have a clever, impactful way with words. i want to be able to use phrasing and dialogue that creates a feeling when you read it if that makes sense? i’ve seen some people who write such amazing one-liners that punch you in the face like “WOAH” and i wish i could do that lol

5. what personality type do you favor the most when it comes to characters you rp?

i’m such a sucker for tall rowdy tough girls who steal other girls’ hearts and soft gentle boys who are clumsy ass fools 👀👌 i think i just really love characters who defy gender norms? like i love lady characters who are more masculine and loud and outspoken. i love ladies who don’t take any shit and they aren’t “delicate fragile creatures” and they’re ready to fight everyone lmao i really love a lot of different personality types but in general i’ll either go for the “rough tough character who’s kind of an asshole but also lovable and loyal” or the “sweet kind character who wants to help everyone way too much and is the backbone of the group that keeps everyone else going”

6. what do you do to help yourself get over writers block?

generally listening to music seems to be a good way to get my inspiration back. i sort of just need to turn up the volume and really focus and get back into the mood of writing for a character. i also find that it helps to listen to music while i’m doing other things and play out a scenario in my head to “prepare” for a response. if i’m totally stuck on how to answer an ask then i’ll daydream and imagine a scene playing out in my head and maybe i’ll be like “oh that might be a good line to use!” or “i like that part i’ll write that down on the ask so i can incorporate it as i add the other details leading up to it”

7. who is an author you look up to the most and who inspires you when it comes to your writing? if you do not have a favorite author, is there another roleplayer who inspires you?

i’ve read like a total of 6 books in my lifetime but i feel obligated to say that n.eil g.aiman is my favorite author bc i absolutely love c.oraline and i started reading a bit of his book t.rigger w.arning and i barely got into it but i already fell in love. i don’t know if he’s really “inspiration” for me but i do admire the way he writes and how he’s able to paint such a clear picture of a scene which is exactly what i aspire to do.

honestly both @sorrowscars and @daturida inspire me and i’m so in love with their writing. they don’t use overly flowery language that’s almost impossible to understand and they don’t really focus on “romanticizing” their character themselves so much as focusing more on their character’s feelings which i find all the more impactful. also i just admire the hell out of how they keep their writing styles fairly simple and completely understandable but still so beautiful?? they write so incredibly without needing to use purple prose or any of that nonsense and i’m always blown away by their writing and just!!! maddie and equinox are huge writing inspiration for me and it’s such a joy to read their stuff ;u;

8. do you rp characters who are similar to you in personality or complete opposites?

this is a good question bc i feel like i relate to haruka in a lot of ways but also not at all. i relate to him in the sense of being distant and quiet and pretty detached emotionally. but i don’t relate to him at all in terms of intelligence and thoughts. on my multi-muse @wovencircle i’ve put some of my own personal traits in each of my ocs. sakuya is sort of the confident person i wish i could be, chiaki is the shy person i am, hiroto is the gentle person who wants to make everyone feel included, etc. overall i’d say i’m probably drawn to characters who are opposite to me in personality but they have personalities that i wish i had.

9. what is your biggest pet peeve rp-wise?

i guess the lack of lesbian muses?? i don’t even know if that counts as a pet peeve lmao but i’m always really disheartened by how lesbian muses almost seem non-existent. ofc it makes me so happy that there’s wlw muses in general but there really is a lack of lesbian muses. just muses who love women and only women. as a lesbian it’s always so difficult to find lesbian material esp since tumblr absolutely hates lesbians. don’t get me started on how they treat masculine/butch lesbians in particular like HOOO BOY

i don’t know i’m sure i’m being selfish and whiny but i would just truly, truly love to see more lesbian muses who are only attracted to women and being domestic with women and all that sappy stuff. i guess esp since 90% of the time when i find wlw muses they’re already in a relationship with a male muse or all their ships are only with male muses. i totally get that part of that is likely bc there’s just more male muses that exist in general in the rpc so it’s much easier to ship with them. but still i’m a whiner and i’m always hoping for the day when more lesbian muses suddenly sprout up out of nowhere like daisies in all their gay glory sifhgks

10. what is one of the best experiences you’ve had in the rpc?

my best experiences have always been with my love my light @kessaichi and one of them by far was souta and haruka confessing that they believe they’re soulmates. it wasn’t even in a huge emotional thread or anything and it only happened in an ask but it was still one of the happiest moments for me bc seeing them openly admit that they think they’re soulmates and getting so so happy was just the most heartwarming thing omfg /w\ honestly everything souta and haruka do is one of my best experiences lol but them just loving each other more than anything in the world is always beyond incredible and i love them so much.

11. what advice would you give to mutuals who are afraid or too shy to reach out to you?

please never aver be afraid to reach out!! i completely understand feeling way too shy and nervous to talk to someone since i used to feel that way all the time (sometimes i still get it a little) but you have to remember that no matter how popular someone might seem or how intimidated you might feel, they’re simply another person. they’re just like you and frankly more often than not, they’ll be more than happy to talk with you. we’re all a bunch of losers writing fictional characters online okay we’re just here to have a good time <3

HOBI/YOONGI:

they are the literal definition of opposites attract. black and white. night and day. ying and yang. it's kind of hilarious how DIFFERENT they are, from personalities to aesthetic to roles in the band. and yet..... THEY WORK!

they truly have such a beautiful bond. yoongi had known him for a week when he decided to ditch his plans and go spend new year's with hobi because he was alone at the dorm!!!! that shit is out of a fanfic but.... it's real. that tells you everything you need to know about the impression hoseok left on him with just a couple of days.

yoongi is just the kind of introvert you need to adopt and be like "well you're my best friend now" and they'll just accept it. i know bc that's exactly what hoseok did. hobi took one look at yoongi and went yeah i'm adopting him and yoongi hasn't spent one day since without being completely whipped by hoseok

"i need j-hope. he's my battery charger" when you're an introvert having a friend that completely boosts your mood and gives you energy just by being around you is SO important. it goes both ways, hobi sometimes need someone that can just be quiet with him for a moment, calming him down.

even though at first glance yoongi is the grumpy introvert and hobi is the bubbly extrovert it's SO FUN bc they both have contradictory traits! when they get drunk yoongi turns into this LOUD, teasing guy that can outdrink the rest of them. when hobi gets drunk he gets quiet, maudlin and three beers are enough to put him to sleep.

that parks and rec meme that's like "someone's gonna die" "of fun :D"

hoseok only has two hyungs in the band and he already considers himself the mom of the group, so yoongi just provides this caretaking role that hoseok melts into. he goes to yoongi for guidance, comfort, cuddles, or just to get babied a little. god!!!

yoongi would never willingly do anything silly or embarrasing with anyone else in the group. but for hoseok he has done the most ridiculous, outlandish shit like singing a trot song IN FRONT OF MILLIONS OF PEOPLE. putting on matching neon orange tracksuits for a photoshoot? fuck off, unless it's for hoseok. then he's in. risking ruining his agust d badass persona in front of the entire crew? no way, unless it's hoseok coming to set with a coffee truck and then making them record a tiktok challenge to daechwita which makes yoongi look like a softie. MAN IS WHIPPED!!!

HOBI/JIN:

ahh yes 2seok. the duo that whenever they get together automatically gets one single functioning braincell they have to share

big seok and little seok!!!! pls it's adorable. they are so soft with each other, it's obvious jin has a deep respect for hobi especially as their dance leader. he still gets nervous when they learn new choreography because he wants to make hobi proud!!!!!

their love language is teasing each other. they LOVE to make the other one flustered but when it's their turn they get all huffy and embarrassed and red in the cheeks

jin is someone that might struggle a lot with self-doubt and auto sabotaging but whenever hoseok is near he's like!!! not on my watch!!!!! and dropkicks into seokjin's room like did i tell you you're amazingly talented today???

they are really good friends and i think they're similar in a lot of ways. both are the moodmakers of the group, both will take on the embarrassing/awkward questions in interviews, both defend their dongsaengs but aren't afraid to scold them and rein them in lol

2seok is just so pure. they are often the most overlooked members of the group and they get the least lines and opportunities to shine. justice for 2seok!!!! they are amazingly talented and without them the group would be lost

Now you might as well continue this bc im invested. What's your take on the others bond regarding hoseok? I dont really ship anyone, but I do feed off of their dynamic. I actually appreciate vhope a lot, their dynamic is friendly, compared to Namseok, and i love how their energies mingle. While Namseok has this familiar throbbing tension and adoration. Their action seemed slightly controlled around each other, and it's honestly like watching two teens dance around eachother.

OH WOW omg this is such a good question but it also opens the gates to me flooding your dash with 20 pages of analysis on each hobi relationship.... so i will try to keep it SHORT!!!!! let’s get it! i will talk about them not in order of which ones i like more or not, but in order of who i know the most about/feel more comfortable analyzing

HOBI/JIMIN:

this one is SO special because it can work either platonically or romantically. they are so tender, so attuned to each other’s needs.

i’ve actually thought abt them a lot because as much as people love to talk about vmin being soulmates (which they are!) jimin and hoseok are imo just as much soulmates. or kindred spirits if you will.

THEY’VE BEEN ROMMATES FOR SEVEN YEARS!!!!! who tf does that and doesn’t get tired of each other? soulmates that’s who

to me jihope is just,,, that comfort of having someone know you down the marrow.

they are dancers before they are idols. they are two people trying to find a sense of purpose in the world through dancing.

jimin is SO tactile and you can really see how he’s slowly but surely coaxed it out of hobi to be comfortable and actually seek that sort of affection. it’s beautiful.

to me jihope is seeing yourself reflected in another-- that sort of slow realization of “oh. it’s you. it’s always been you.”

they are both over critical of themselves but think the other one is perfect..... so it’s really an echo chamber of “you’re the best dancer” “no YOU’RE the best dancer” “NO YOU ARE!”

they can bicker like siblings but also talk about their deepest fears/thoughts in hushed tones under the blanket while they spoon on the same bed... it’s beautiful.

jimin is the best best friend for hoseok in my head. he IS that bff that gives hobi a friendship bracelet and will still own it 20 years from now. he’s the “i’m gonna be your children’s godfather” best friend. they are just unbearably soft.

HOBI/JUNGKOOK:

listen. l i s t e n ! the golden duo. the favorite maknae and the ace hyung. they are just... SO giggly with each other. so so funny.

jungkook is an introvert, so the way i see it he probably was someone that took his time before opening up, before having the confidence to just go up to one of his members and touch. especially at the beginning, when he was a wide eyed 16 year old. but with hoseok it’s just. IT’S NATURAL. it’s like seeing the waves lap up the shore, or two otters holding hands in the river.

i have a headcanon that jk is synesthetic or at least ND on some level because of how sensitive he is to smells (i am on the autism spectrum and i can tell you smells are a BIG thing for people like me,,,, not saying he’s in the spectrum but i love thinking of him as synesthetic).

so every time i see him bury his nose in the soft hairs of hobi’s nape i just. i melt into a puddle on the ground. THIS MAN CAN’T TAKE THE SMELL OF HOTEL ROOMS TO THE POINT HE HAS TO BRING CANDLES OR COMFORT ITEMS WITH HIM ON TOUR and he’s been caught several times in 4k sniffing hoseok like a puppy.

i will wrap it up now but i’m just gonna say... jungkook is hobi’s baby!! but he’s like that overgrown puppy who still thinks of himself as small when in reality he’s,,, a samoyed trying to fit himself on hobi’s lap.

in real life i truly see jungkook as having some of the strongest/deepest bonds both with namjoon and hobi.

for fic purposes, i see kookie as this boy who is SO protective of his hobi-hyung he will do anything for him, be it a friend, a lover, a confidant, etc.

hoseok really lets his guard down with him bc he’s the maknae. and seeing kookie grow from this shy boy to this big, confident man who is finally doing what HE wants for his own happiness instead of what people want from him.... it’s overwhelming for hobi.

they are the golden duo and they have my heart period!!

HOBI/TAEHYUNG:

oh wow this was my first ship in the bts fandom,,,, good times. i was like HOLD UP! who are they and why do they act like that around each other and most importantly.... WHY IS NO ONE TALKING ABOUT THEM???

i firmly believe that if hobi was in the maknae line vhope would be AS popular as tkk IF NOT MORE!!!!

i think tae is the one who most openly will flirt or just go out of his way to make sure hoseok knows how much he admires him and it makes hobi SO flustered. he will literally smile like aww that’s nice :) and then run the other way. that’s why i LOVE how taehyung gives zero fucks.

it’s a lot like jungkook’s crush on namjoon. it’s just SO transparent and they both have ZERO chill so they end up making namseok feel awkward af because they’re like haha what the fuck...

i also have a small headcanon that tae is neurodivergent. idk why or which type of ND but he just strikes me as.... having some tics and even patterns of speech that remind me of my ND friends. and sometimes that comes off as having no filter/being awkward and you can see in the rest of the group how sometimes they literally have NO idea how to respond to something taehyung did.

but not hobi. he is always SO patient, so comforting, always makes sure to show tae is being heard.

i think they are just AMAZING for each other because their personalities are so complimentary. it’s also the sweetest thing when hobi does something like break out in dance or singing in the middle of an interview and tae WILL laugh and he WILL follow hoseok.

that’s called mirroring. vhope do it more than any other pairing in the group.

in fanfic terms,,,, they have SO much sexual tension you can cut it with a knife. they truly compliment each other amazingly well, and the sheer amount of sex appeal taehyung exudes is just *chef’s kiss* for flustered/innocent hobi tropes.

Analysis: Kiwi MV by Harry Styles

First of all i was so fucking excited for this video. this is one of my favorite’s off the album and i’m so glad it got a mv.

so, the first thing i’m going to discuss and unpack is how all the actors/tresses are children. The only adult we see throughout is Harry himself, but I’ll get into the role he plays later.

let’s agree that the children represent a younger generation of people in society. since we have Beau--the little girl (who almost appears androgynous--again, i’ll get into that later) dressed almost identically to Harry in the video--as the representation of Harry himself, let’s say that the children represent harry’s generation, which, consequentially, reflects us. our generation.

now, i don't want to piss anybody off with this analysis so if you don’t like the idea of all of the conflicts/tension caused by inequality in society today being caused by the select few in power, stop reading. there’s a lot of orwellian ideas coming up in the analysis.

SO. we all know harry’s main motif--especially for this album--is to spread love. if it’s that easy--who’s stopping the love from being passed around? the disclaimer at the beginning (see above) is reminiscent of one when viewers are about to be subjected to triggering content, such as violence. we see beau, determinedly making her way down an empty hall, ammo in hand and ready for whatever chaos is to come. everyone’s preparing for it, and we see all the different children already tense and arguing, the pastries and baked goods all placed in the center of the room, almost like the cornucopia in the hunger games.

the thing is, the children all have their own cupcakes already in their hands. all the children have sweets, but none of them actually begin to throw them at each other until beau walks in and starts the food fight. we don’t even get an explanation as to why they are all arguing in the mv, which is usually a stylistic tool to explain to viewers that the cause of strife is virtually useless and the fights honestly unnecessary. that’s not to say that equality isn’t something that should be fought for, but--shouldn’t it already be a given? why should we eve have to fight for it--why isn’t it already there for everyone to simply enjoy?

(another thing i find interesting is that the colors of the cupcake’s frosting represents the colors the children are wearing, even with beau--so whatever the sweets represent are directly linked back to the children)

so what can the sweets represent? they represent when he worked in a bakery, Esse. Duh. Yes, you’re probably right, but i feel like it goes a bit deeper than that.

so, harry worked in a bakery when he was younger (a child), before ever auditioning on the xfactor and becoming a part of one direction. fine.

he also belonged to a very different class of people at that time.

harry grew up in a middle-class family, just like the majority of the population, and his ego hasn’t really seemed to have inflated such that he’s forgotten how to be humble. when you’re a celebrity, ‘normal people problems’ aren’t something you have to worry about--louis wrote an entire song about that: being discriminated against, being judged for being yourself, being treated unfairly, for the most part, celebrities don’t have to worry about those things*. they have other things they need to worry about. being a minority, whether it’s due to race, sexuality, gender, class (well, maybe not so much class as a celebrity)--they don’t take away from the support a celebrity has. Beyonce is one of the most loved singers of our time. David Bowie was praised for his ‘quirkiness’. My neighbor who lets her son wear dresses, especially in an arab country? She is not loved by her peers nor praised. that’s just the way things work.

The point of that off-topic train of thoughts was that if the cupcakes and pastries are reminiscent of harry’s time working in a bakery, then they link us back to two things and support my arguments that one, the children represent us and our generation and two, that the children also represent us in our financial and social struggle (particularly in the middle and lower classes) as we are pinned against one another for basic equality.

The pastries are not only color-coded to represent each child, but the ones in the center cornucopia look so professionally made no child could have baked them. what does that mean? that means that the adults had to help. the adults--whoever they are--that baked the goods that these children are going to use to attack one another with let the children take them. there’s no way an entire bakery can be robber dry without a single adult knowing. the kids couldn't have baked them themselves because it would have been ‘too dangerous’, and even if they had they wouldn’t have turned out so aesthetically pleasing. The ammunition was supplied by the adults--the one’s in charge--for the children to use on one another, without any supervision whatsoever.

so, theyre all at war with one another but they arent given the means to really throw anything harmful because they have no power with their superiors--in this case, the adults, in society the older generation who is now still in charge of most of what occurs in politics--so that what we have instead is the children throwing food at one another as though they are actually at war.

Despite this mood, the baked goods dont do any real harm or damage and reflects how, effectively, no change is really being made with everyone quarreling amongst themselves: we need to learn to direct our frustration at those who have placed us in these situations in the first place.

Another thing I find interesting: the kids don’t start throwing sweets until beau gestures like she is about to. i don't know what to make of that--maybe she's the role model since she has an established connection with the adults (the reflection of her appearance in harry’s?)

speaking of harry, the only thing that Harry the Adult really truly does when he walks in is cause more chaos by bringing in these puppies and shouting at no one in specific. he’s unable to settle them down; instead, he ends up having to find cover against the overall assault of pastries without even creating order whatsoever, and he even hands a girl a cupcake to use as ammo. Like, ‘here, take this and use it against your equals since i told you to stop but that didn’t work, might as well help you attack each other’.

alrighty then, Harry the Adult. The only adult figure actually shown in the whole mv and you’re virtually useless in helping with the problem.

i think thats for one of two reasons i can think of:

1. hes critiquing the system and how the higher-ups encourage the mayhem in lower classes to keep them pliant and controllable, even though they ‘appear’ to be ‘for the people’ (think george orwell)

2. something about childhood mirth and it all being a game but idk i havent really thought too deeply into that bc it doesnt make much sense (you can see which line of analysis clearly appealed to me more)

ALSO. if all of that wasn’t enough for you to believe me just look at the little shit’s smirk at the end of this video.

he’s screaming ‘ha ha you little fucks played right into my trap and I got exactly what I wanted’. i swear it.

then if we go BACK to the lyrics, we see that we are talking about this girl and she

a. seems extremely desperate to be with the main character of the song and

b. obviously doesnt live TOO luxuriously (cheap pack of cigarettes and just her overall lifestyle reflects the whole idea of ‘wasted youth’) which reflects back to her potentially being another cog in the useless, damaging machine that society has become.

ALSO CHILD HARRY IS A GIRL CAUGHT IN THE MIX BC OUR HOME BOY IS GAY AND HES CAUGHT UP IN THE USELESS FIGHTING JUST LIKE EVERYBODY ELSE IS AAAAAAAH

*i said FOR THE MOST PART. i know that there are still MANY situations in which celebrities have to face discrimination and unfair treatment, but for the most part, they have a platform through which their can communicate their opinions. regular people do not.

In DA-centric universes Egeire ends up becoming fairly all-or-nothing re: clothing. at the end of the Blight, into Warden-Commanderdom, and to some extent post-Wardenhood, he is either in full armor and weaponry (with some extra flash and ideally some small piece of elfiness in the Awakening period), or when he is completely alone and not paranoid and with people he trusts in a space he feels safe in, he is wearing like comfortable loose-fitting pants and that’s about it.

In more modern AUs Egeire wears more like… practical clothes, probably? flannel and open button-ups over tank tops with sturdy pants and tough boots, whatever clothes have been Gifted to him over the years, annnnnd at-home muscly shirtlessness with loose sweatpants

Dresses more lightly in private for ease of movement, with fur shawls and fine shoes and all. may be talked into some sort of short top + long skirt look by her fawning husband. in private.

Modern: light blouses and either loose-ish pants or long skirts, fond of flower motifs, plenty of like cardigans and soft jackets and things that generally perfect that sweet and trustworthy and caring outward demeanor she wields like empathy made tangible and precise. also has regular graphic tees and jeans for gardening.

Modern: light shirts tied up and semi-professional vests and the ability to quickly create a skirt in any situation when they need to really move in a hurry

1. “Enemies” - Shinedown (i didn’t even have to think about this one everyone hates Cyrron except like…. you jay. only you. everyone else goes ‘ew’ or ‘why are his eyes sockets not full of sharp/sharp-ish utensils’ when i bring him up. only you cheer when he shows up or hand him over to tentacle monsters but)

2. “Simple Man” - Lynyrd Skynyrd (and the complete flipside– a simple kind of man, not rushing, revering the gods, settling down with a bondmate and having children… it was the life Cyrron intended to live, not exactly a soft or warm or gentle man by any means, but a simple man. Then he lost everything, and survived Vir Banal’ras, and we have present day Cyrron.)

3. “The Dalish Elves Encampment” - Dragon Age: Origins OST, or something (this is basically a placeholder to state: what do you think super traditional Dalish elf music sounds like? for Ferelden Dalish if you want to get specific maybe. Basically, whatever Traditional Dalish Music is, that is all Cyrron himself cares to listen to. That’s it. He hoards it. maybe even plays an instrument. the world will never know.)

5. “Indestructible” - Disturbed (fitting, since it was on Egeire’s list, and he definitely got that from somewhere. really, Cyrron is indestructible to a point that even upsets himself until all the venom he sank into others finally comes back to flood his veins)

DA: Armor. Sturdy Dalish armor, long updated and cycled through with parts, blades on hand at all times, each meticulously well-kept and menacingly. The only time he’s not in armor is if he’s for some reason in disguise to get closer to someone to kill them.

Modern: ranges from business semi-casual to business ultra-formal and nowhere below that range, at least not for wearing out in the daylight. Cyrron mostly has his crisp dress shirts and pressed black slacks and all that easy “I am wealthy and important and you don’t need to know what I do for a living” class, even despite the clear vallaslin, but he also has a variety of tougher garb and more lowkey clothing for when his real line of work comes calling in the night for a slit throat or a poisoned drink.

Soveliss Liadon

mixtape: 5 songs that describe your OC or songs they themselves would like

1. “Addicted to Love” - Florence + the Machine (possibly the earliest defining song for my vague thoughts of ‘Soveliss and his feylock patron’. Soveliss insists he knows what he’s doing! He just has to keep his wits around him! … gods, though, he is so lonely.)

2. “Carousel” - Melanie Martinez (have I mentioned Sov is really super doomed? And it’s all fun and games/‘Til somebody falls in love/But you’ve already bought a ticket/And there’s no turning back now)

1. “Stray Italian Greyhound” - Vienna Teng (whoops first song is a Grey/Tamaris song. but: Grey is every bit the tongue-tied hopeless romantic that Egeire is, except he somehow works himself up about it even harder bc in a way Grey can be summed up as Eg But Extra (i love this song tho))

2. “I of the Storm” - Of Monsters And Men (wh o o ps it’s another Grey/Tam song. but it is also a good sort of song for Grey’s general insecurities, still carried over if reflected differently from Egeire’s. not measuring up. not being loved. feeling trapped. are you really gonna love me when i’m gone? are you really gonna need me when i’m gone? i fear you won’t; i fear you don’t)

3. “In My Sleep” - Mystery Skulls (can’t find a good video but you can’t do this like i do/i fucking wrote this in my sleep is just. 1. it mostly inspired an au. 2. take Egeire’s mild peacock tendencies and turn them up to fucking 11 and you might start to approach Grey levels of pride and showboating. tempted to put “Magic” on this list but just. it’s so great. just go look it up.)

4. “Through Glass” - Stone Sour (something quieter. bringing back that feeling of isolation from Ria, but a bit more self-imposed– putting up walls of glass to keep a distance from everything and ending up sitting alone inside his own head, which really could account for a lot of his doubts. a negative feedback loop of sorts. but he is so used to it.)

5. “Work Song” - Hozier / “Iris” - Goo Goo Dolls / “Rather Be” - Clean Bandit (just some more love songs for the hopeless romantic bc I’m p sure I’ve spent like 8 hours on this ask and I’m dead now)

wardrobe:what’s your OC’s style like?

DA: so fashionable. whether he’s the Circle Ambassador or the Warden-Commander, Grey is dedicated to keeping up with trends and edging out ahead of them where he can. It’s a careful balance to keep, neither being so compliant as to be invisible or stepping so far out of line that he’s branded “outsider“ again, but he loves it. Grey is all about politics, wealth, luxury, prestige– whatever the Circle and the Chantry wanted to deny him, he will take, one way or another.

Modern: so fashionable. if it’s In he is at least looking into getting his hands on it, if he doesn’t already have it. as the Circle is traded out for more like…. slicksharp white collar big business laddering-climbing type ambition, so too are robes traded for suits, and so some manner of dress shirt + jacket/blazer/etc + slacks/dress pants/etc becomes his norm. Whether he’s climbing or charming or sleeping his way to the top, he enjoys surrounding himself with luxury and learning how to take advantage of it.Is still a sweetheart who looks nice in lace though.

1. why did you choose your url?

sky gray is one of the most beautiful songs i've heard and i love ha:tfelt (yeeun) so here we are!

2. any side blogs? if you have them name them and why you have them.

active sideblogs? Cuz I have several abandoned ones. @moonsehyoon ... im sorry for leaving you my beloved

I do have another tumblr account @thesalamanderspot (a nature aesthetic blog) and the sideblog for that is @woggleblog (art/miscellanious stuff) and i have those mostly so i don't overwhelm my kpop blog with non-kpop posts

ooh almost forgot i have @halyangdream which i started when i got into bl dramas recently but i only post there sporadically

3. how long have you been on tumblr?

since 2014... on this very same blog

4. do you have a queue tag?

i'm very boring and sometimes use "q" to indicate that i'm away. and sometimes I don't, just to add some mystery

5. why did you start your blog in the first place?

I first made an account bc tumblr was where all the troye sivan stans were hanging out in 2014...then i got into dan and phil and that phase lasted a few years

then...2019, the year i got into kpop (I know! I'm always late to the party!) i changed overnight into a bts, hobi-centric blog and progressively got more and more multi. as you can see

6. why did you choose your icon/pfp?

(you weren't asking for the whole history of my blog but you got it)

because ha:tfelt is one of my fav artists and i love the green color of her outfit

7. why did you choose your header?

i wanted something green and not too busy and i think those sparkly/snowing type of gif headers are so pretty. plus its monet, you can't go wrong

back in my dan and phil days i got 6.5k notes on a compilation of phil smiling

i don't know exactly...but i cherish each and every one of them!

No, I only like having rational/analytical discussions. no fighting

15. how do you feel about ‘you need to reblog this’ posts?

I'll reblog it if I feel like it. I used to feel more guilty about ignoring those posts but I think in most situations it's more important to get properly cited information than to reblog to ease the guilt

YES especially ones that involve music hehe. The handwriting tag was my fav tho!

sometimes, if i'm feeling in a talkative/energetic mood
