just thought if they had aired never again before leonard betts, as written and intended, there is almost certainly a not-so-small proportion of people who would still conclude that scully's night with ed was about her illness bc There's A Tumor In Her Head And That Must Be Making Her Act Crazy; Ain't That Great Foreshadowing

#which is really a shame #look i deeply appreciate that scully being kinda fucked up was subtle& sprinkled across the whole series like a lil dusting of cake glitter #bc she was roundly beat up and traumatized so many times as main plot points and they could EASILY have gone down the route #of making The Woman's Suffering/Feelings the third main character in every episode like so many other shows #and that really WOULD have changed her #but it's a shame that in doing so it also became something people could miss or forget about #to the extent that Never Again could look like some wild hard right turn that came out of nowhere for her character #and be something that needs some kind of external explanation #rather than being nothing more or less than exactly what she said it was: herself. circles. patterns. ✋.#ig maybe in that sense a lot of the audience is mulder lol #ed jerse doesn't need explaining 😁 she's just Like That.#x files #the x files #scully #txf #txf s4 #i'm sure i have other thoughts if the migraine leaves but this one just came and perched on my shoulder so
