#there is an interesting divide in my family#that splits the immediate family members#into two groups: previously religious but no longer practicing#and currently practicing but a very new age spiritualism#while the new agers are few they are the most outspoken#and we truly gather out of love - no one is here with beef or to get at anyone#but. I did have to sit and listen to my sister explain that#Mary had Jesus through parthenogenesis#bc she was a ‘virgin’ priestess trained in those matters etc#and I’m like. girl you know that’s on the same level as ‘impregnated by the Holy Ghost’ but just adjacent#like to the average non-practicer/non-believer you’re still talking the same whack stuff#anyways if anything the teenagers keep everyone humble#they’re way too embarrassed to like willingly partake in anything#my other sister asked us if we could Hum after grace and the teens laughed so hard they cried#love and light and merry Christmas Eve
