the way I've spent the better part of this year trying to still remain friendly with people without becoming jokerified by the subtle (and sometimes not so subtle) ways in which they treat me differently 🫥

#had my yearly hangout with my oldest friend (who now lives across the country) and was like wow this is so nice because like.#she is straight & she knows I'm not but it's not a topic of conversation like ever. and that's really refreshing in a way #bc she doesn't need to know the minutiae of everything in order to determine how she should be treating me lol.#this makes it sound like the people I know are all terrible and like. they're not but they're definitely much more identitarian than I'm #comfortable with & they don't realize the extent to which this comes across and the cumulative effect is maddening. but I hesitate to bitch #about it because I don't want it to seem like baseless moaning. anyway. when I finally find my people it's over for everyone
