currently imagining what a mega man rhythm level would look like (if developed in-game, ie. not a mega man rhythm game in itself but a level that has rhythm game mechanics) and I’ve come to the conclusion that it should be Megaman in the the bottom with enemies coming at him on the beat that he has to shoot and turn to shoot and charge up shots to take out, all to the beat. He could jump or slide to the beat as well but that might be harder to convey to the player
There would be a limit on how often he can get damaged (no i-frames here, everything deals 2 damage aside from the first hit which deals 1, he stops being hurt when he’s at 1) and if you reach the end of the dog with less than 1/2 health you get instakilled.
Going off of Rhythm Heaven bc that’s closest to the button inputs I’m thinking off: Full health (32) is a Perfect, 27 health (3 misses) is threshold for Great, and 1/2 health is threshold for Okay. Below that is instakill.
