#thinking about that article that game out ages ago about conspiracy theory ships in fandom#and how they pointed out how many of these ships like larry#camren kaylor etc#are usually the only predominant ship because they’re easily fetishisable and are more ‘desirable’ to people who believe in the conspiracy#than to other friendships/dynamics in the fandom#because they have white and eurocentric features#and in terms of larry they can be considered two british white twinks that can easily be fantasised about#by straight women or just weirdos in general#bc its more digestable than a ship with a POC or a person who is an ethnic minority#there’s a reason camren was more popular than camila and normani for example#or in the 1d fandom#there’s a reason larry was so big in comparison to zarry or zouis or any ship to do with zayn#and ever since I read that its really stuck with me#and I don’t really know where im going with this lol#but its just.....so bizzare to me that larries still exist in fucking 2020#and are STILL blind to the blatant homophobic tropes they contribute to#so yeah. just feelin weird about ut#ruth rambles
