What's your opinion on Sonic Boom's character adaptions?

i think this is an old ask im so sorry thisll be based on the cartoon cause i havent played any of the boom games or watched the cutscenes.  ive tried to just approach it a little more loosely bc when it first started airing, i was really offput by how different the characters are from their eastern counterparts? but i feel like im kinda takin it too seriously, since it is just mostly supposed to be comedic, and its obviously a different take on sonic, but yea ok sorry here we go bouta ramble so heres a read more, its midnight hope im makin sense here

sonic: hes definitely.. different, like he has a different attitude, and his aloofness comes off more as disinterest? hes more grumpy than modern sonic thats for sure.  initially i didnt really like him cause he just seemed sort of jerkish, but i think its not so bad.. i guess im just used to how incredibly sweet modern sonic can be so to see such a contrast in boom sonic was kinda jarring.  but in hindsight its a different and he’s his own hog. hes had his good moments too.  5.5/10

tails: i kinda like this tails! hes more confident, almost snarky at times, in a way that you can clearly see how sonics rubbed off on him, and hes really capable with both his inventions and in battles, but sometimes the boy needs to learn to stay in his lane. 8/10

amy: i really like the direction they took her in, bc any substance is better than ‘oh she likes sonic’ with little else, she’s got her own little set of quirks that set her apart, and she’s got a much more prominent role than her main series counterpart. every now and then she gets kinda overwhelming but for the most part i like. 8/10.

knuckles: ok his is the one that upset me the most bc like.. knuckles isnt stupid.  hes been shown to be somewhat gullible but thats when people take advantage of how trusting he is and hes actually knows whats up, hes capable not to mention somewhat stoic and passionate and i dont like how he gets reduced to the butt of almost every joke.  that being said, its a different canon so i guess its *technically* ok and yea a lot of the jokes are actually funny. im tryna let it go so bad bc like, if boom!knuckles were a separate character id probably like him so much more but like. wheres my knuckles. 4/10.

sticks: the only character who didnt have any pre-established traits, so they had a clean slate with her.  i really love her concept, and shes a p good foil to the rest of the team, but i feel like her traits are often oversimplified.. like shes just painted as the Local Village Crazy and even though shes been proven right many times they still kind of ignore her a lot? she gets thrown under the bus a good bit but theyve shown that she can handle herself and that shes an important member of the team, and i personally really like her :) 7/10.

eggman: so good.  while he might not seem as much of a threat, the comedy involving him is always great and they don’t have to change his character drastically to achieve it.  he’s got the eccentricity that makes him so appealing, and they adapted him well into the boom scenario. i love him. 9.5/10

ok i hope this makes sense but yea, i hope this doesn’t come off as very negative bc i do enjoy the show, this is just my personal onion, lemme know what yall think!
