it gets to a point where, despite all the numerous people who have donned the name and costume, none of them have really added anything to the mantle. there's nothing they could add, really, because the role was designed for only one person, and that person already perfected it

#like. obvs the characters themselves have added depth to the entire narrative coil of it all #but the mantle of robin itself- nothing has been done by anyone after dick that has significantly added anything to it #other than death ig... rip jason for that being the only lasting contribution lmao #no one had done it better than the og- no one has contributed anything to 'robin' that would make it more compelling than dick already did #and this is not a hate post to other robins!!! lets be clear!!! this is just a general observation #bc i honestly cant think of anything that has been significantly altered or improved since dick left the role #this could also apply to the role of 'batman' but seeing as only one other person... ahem... has donned the mask sincerely in #the current time line canon... we shall not speak further on it...
