anyway. i always imagine sneaky sight seeing with shawn. finding the hole in the wall cafes, small bars, walking around in those parks that have the trees on either side creating an aisle and almost a covering. it's his off day and he rlly just wants to spend it with you, so you guys are trying to be lowkey and he's got a tight grip on your hand in case you guys need to make a run for it and just lots of giggles and him tugging on you to keep up with his giraffe legs

(cont) OOH sitting at this french inspired cafe,and he's sitting across from you but he's got a hand holding your hand across the table and his legs outstretched so he can slot yours between his and with your other hand you're stuffing your face with choc croissants and all kinds of pastries, occasionally feeding him bites while he sips his coffee with his other hand. when you go to feed him, he'll playfully nibble on your fingertips or try to be seductive and lick at them and end up bursting w/laughter. his phone ringing while you guys are out and as he reaches for his phone you start pouting at him bc it was meant to be just you guys and no work. you know no one else calls him and as soon as he picks up, he'll probs leave you for a bit. he motions 1 second and he picks it up all whilst you still pout at him. you try to detangle your hand from his but his grip tightens and he gives you his own pout. once he's done with his call, he pulls your hand and your body shifts closer to the edge of your seat and he uses his other hand to tilt your chin to him. his thumb presses into your pout and he leans closer to give you a sweet kiss, "i love you" and as you try to sit properly again, he doesn't let you go, "say it back" he'll whine and keep pressing little kisses all over your face until you let out a laugh in his face, "i love you too" you whisper. and he's satisfied, giving you another big kiss and stealing a piece of your pastries, "hey!" and he kisses u just to shut u up and you can taste the sticky glaze on his lips and there's nothing in the world that felt better than that moment right there. he lets you go and now you're both flushed from the giggles, kisses and the morning sun shining through the cafe. he gets the pastry with the glaze to take home because why not, he remembers the blush on your cheeks after that kiss and it was a damn good pastry. you both leave the cafe and go on a walk about, seeing the different buildings and pointing out the different things you guys see. you take selfies in front of fountains and take note of the places you should stop by when you have more time or on your way back. he's sending some of these to the groupchat he has with his fam and his mum is asking whether you're both warm and how you guys are. not having a photographer follow him around so when he wants a photo of the two of you in front of this beautiful setting with the sun creating the perfect glow, he refuses your offer to take it for him, insisting that you MUST be by his side in it. your suggestion of a selfie goes unheard as he approaches an older couple and asks them to take a pic for him and his girl by the ledge overseeing the water. he walks back with the biggest shit eating grin bc "HA! in your face, we're going to take this couple photo" and he's opening his arms wide to engulf you. he stands by your side holding you sooo tightly to him as the woman takes your photo. he thanks them and he goes through the photos with you. he scrolls a little too far and you see he has a photo of you stuffing your face with a choc croissant from earlier with a bit of choc on your cheek and it isn't cute but he literally melts when he sees it and "my gosh, could you get any fkn cuter" while you're standing there unimpressed, arms crossed bc "wtf that's so embarrassing! you better had not sent this to your mum, shawn or i'll literally kill you!! deleTE IT RN! pls" his phone's back in his pocket and he grabs your face with a hand on either of your cheeks pulling you in for a kiss then squeezing your cheeks. that shut you up alright, second time he's got you a lil speechless. he grins cheekily and slides his hand down to grab your hand and is on his merry way. you walk around and he talks your ear off, occasionally swinging your entwined hands up and giving your knuckles a kiss and he's got heart eyes when you do the same to his.

OH WOW THIS MADE ME S O F T. 

He’d be so preoccupied in making it feel normal for you. If he saw a group of people he thought would try to stop him, he’d drag you by your hand down some alternate path. Your giggles would fill the air as he tugged you along and you’d joyfully follow him anywhere. And sharing your food has just become routine for the two of you. You learned quickly that he was a human garbage disposal and he’d pick off your plate regardless of how much he ate themselves. Your chocolate muffins were anything but safe.

He knew the two of you needed a day to be just you. No distractions and no work. He felt so guilty as he picked up his phone, knowing your squinting look was just covering up your slight tinge of hurt in your chest. But when he pulled you in for a kiss after a call, you didn’t deny him. You never could. 

and that extra pastry he brings home? he’d end up giving it to you when you had cramps the next morning in hopes of cheering you up. The taste of the pastry just made you think of the taste of his lips and that beautiful moment in the quaint, hole in the wall cafe. Your smile wouldn’t fade off your face for the rest of that morning. 

And that picture!!! He’d even ask the lady to take a couple for you guys so it could be just right. She’d just chuckle lightly, telling you guys that you were ‘the definition of love’ while she snapped a few more of you and your cheeks would turn bright red, prompting him to press sweet little kisses to them. 

Once he got his phone back his eyes would settle on that very picture; your arms wrapped around his waist as his hands hold your face to his lips. You’re giggling wildly in the photo, nose scrunched up and cheeks bright and rosy, and he couldn’t love you anymore. The golden sun lit the photo perfect, mimicking the warmth the two of you shared for each other. He’d be speechless for a moment as you looked at the photo, needing a moment to catch his breath. 

“I cannot believe how lucky I got with you,” he’d huff, blinking his eyes in disbelief, “you make my heart stop, lovey.”

He’d kiss your head and you’d giggle as you watch his long fingers press a couple of buttons, setting the photo as his wallpaper. 

“Mmm somebody is smitten,” you’d joke.

“Can’t help myself with a girl like you,”

And you were just as smitten with him. That is until you saw that godforsaken candid photo from the cafe. A groan would immediately tumble out of your mouth and your face would contort dramatically as you beg him to delete it. He’d just giggle and pull you in for another breathtaking kiss after whispering “you’re so beautiful and you don’t even know it” against your lips.

You two would continue on with your peaceful day, making the most of your version of “normal”. He’d be telling you all these stories, showing you all these different landmarks in the city he’d been to a million times, and crack his corny jokes and you’d just listen in amazement, beaming the whole time. You’d walked for a while, eventually ending up on a park bench together. You would be people watching in silence until you feel your phone vibrate in your pocket.

Your eyes would flicker over to him, shooting him a confused look. Your face would light up as you see the picture the older woman took of you two earlier. You didn’t think your smile could get any bigger until you read the caption,

If this lasts forever I’ll be just fine.

You’d grab his face up and pull him in for a kiss so quickly, he’d flinch at the action. He’d relax into the kiss, immediately melting into your affection. Your lips would dance with his in another kiss that left him absolutely speechless. 

“I love you,” you say, pressing little pecks to his lips. 

His lips would be stuck in a loving, crooked smile and he’d just stare at you in wonder, eyes drooping from being love drunk. He’d be rendered speechless as he took your beauty in, feeling like his heart may burst at any moment. 

You’d kiss his smiling lips with a bit more force, making a loud humming smooch against them, “say it back.”

He’d giggle at your mockery, snapping out of his daze and pulling you by your waist into his lap.

“I love you too. So much.”

hey!! i watched apollo 13 a few days ago and fell down a rabbit hole and i was delighted to find there's a whole (sort of) nasa/astronaut/space/i-dont-know-what-to-call-it fandom thing/network of blogs on tumblr! so far my fave things are (1) the memes, and (2) the rants & rambles about little bizarrely specific or seemingly random things. i'm REALLY loving your blog especially! if you want give me some rambles/rants/memes/facts/thoughts on the apollo 13 astronauts! or don't! love u either way ❤

Hi anon! Thank you so much for this ask, I’ve had a really bad last couple of days but this is so nice. And yeah I don’t really know what to call the “fandom” either tbh. But it makes me happy that more people are falling down the rabbit hole lmao - I first got into this stuff when I was like 16-17 and I would spend all my time reading mission transcripts and screaming about astronauts to anyone who would listen (in retrospect, oh god im sorry lol). Seeing the community grow is really like…really heartwarming? So yeah.

About Apollo 13…hm. I have seen the movie a bunch of times but not in a while so I can’t remember exactly what facts might already have been included and I don’t wanna be redundant but! I will do my best. Actually this is prob. mostly just gonna be stuff about Jim Lovell bc I love him!! and despite Apollo 13 being one of the more famous missions it’s not one of the ones I know a ton of specific details about so:

Whenever I think about Apollo 13 honestly my mind goes to this pic bc omgh my god….Fred Haise sitting on the phone books is SO fucking funny to me. like. mood.

anyway yes. jim lovell….Im love him….here are some of my fave pics of him: (1) where he looks all handsome, (2) where he looks like a big goof, (3) another joke pic from geology training (see caption), and (4) another geology training one w/ his friend Pete Conrad (who nicknamed him “Shaky” when they were in test pilot school together in the 50s lmaooo). like, yeah he just stuffed some random rock in his pocket and it looks hella awkward (honestly every time I see this pic I’m like “is that a rock or are you just…” ajhshhs lmao) but I think it’s fun, I mean just look at Pete’s hat and pipe. Anyway. Ya girl just loves geology training photos sorry!

Also since I feel like part of my niche on here is rambling about design/fashion/aesthetics in relation to space I’m gonna talk about mission patches! You can read more about the design process behind the Apollo 13 mission patch here. Overall I think it’s a good patch w/ a solid design! A few years there was a project where some people designed alternate commemorative versions of the Apollo mission patches and the alternate Apollo 13 one is my favorite of the bunch. It has the path of the horses representing Apollo reversed so they’re traveling from the moon back to earth, which I think is a really simple but elegant and meaningful reimagining. You can read more about the commemorative patch project here btw.

While we are on the topic of mission patches and Jim Lovell, can I just say SHOUTOUT to my mans for his design sense bc the Apollo 8 patch is a banger and easily one of the top 3 best mission patches from Gemini and Apollo. It seems like he was more interested in considering the designs of the patches for his flights than average (at least, this is my impression, but idk) and he had a pretty good run of mission patches. I tend to like patches w/o a lot of cluttered details and text all over the place that convey a lot through simple shapes and symbols (imo the Gemini 10 patch is the pinnacle of mission patch design) so I think the Gemini 12, Apollo 8, and Apollo 13 patches are nice. The Gemini 7 one is also very good but he wasn’t as involved on that. He did contribute ideas to Michael Collins about the Apollo 11 patch design (prob. bc he was backup commander for the mission) which is another good one, of course. Anyway I can appreciate a man who appreciates good design so! yeah lmao!

I’d love to add in some stuff about fashion/spacesuit stylings in relation to Apollo 13 bc I tend to go on about that stuff but I can’t really think of anything right now? But yeah I think I’m gonna stop here otherwise I will keep writing random stuff about Jim Lovell (I am so sorry Fred and Jack I just do not know as much about you), but THANK YOU for letting me talk about this stuff! Maybe others can add more (and better) info to this post if they want?

mei qi and xuan yi are currently not promoting w/ wjsn bc they went on china’s official version of p101 and respectively took 1st and 2nd, so they’re currently promoting w/ “rocket girls” for the time being. cheng xiao is currently not promoting w/ them either bc she’s busy as hell w/ personal schedules, but u can watch her on this show called “pajama friends.” idk where 2 watch full episodes but there are clips of her on their vlive that are subbed ! so u can get a feel 4 her personality w/o watching hours of content. i don’t know where 2 watch china’s version of p101, i haven’t seen it myself but i DO know that u should absolutely watch this vid bc mei qi has the RANGE 

also this vid is gonna tell u nothing abt their personalities but this is the best thing they’ve ever done imo and every day i live seeped in jealousy that my aforementioned friend got 2 see this live
