He does want to be with you above anything, and if children were out of the question due to natural causes… sure, he would learn to get over it. His brothers are all adopted and are as legitimate heirs to his father as he. But as it stands, Damian needs an heir someday and he knows your body can provide that. 

A part of him, a part that’s been planted in him since his childhood, quietly admits that he simply wants his children to be blood. He was taught that he was the result of two genetically perfect individuals – Bruce Wayne the Batman and Talia al Ghul, Daughter of the Demon’s Head. 

So why shouldn’t his child be the genetic amalgamation of you and him? The thought of impregnating you sounds… good. Ideal. Natural, even. Call him a romantic.

Back from class, you decided to read on his living room recliner while he drew in his study. He indeed sketched, as he did everyday, but he also wanted to check if today was the day he thought it was. Damian opens the drawer of his wooden desk, papers neatly filed. He picks up a sleek black folder.

When opened, inside is a calendar for the year, with no notes or writing. The days are simply blank or highlighted in either red or green.

His eyes skirt down to the current day of the calendar, and Damian's pleased to see it is indeed among a week that's painted in green. You've ovulated, and the six days afterward are an ideal window. 

You've said in passing that your cycle is pleasantly regular and Damian's past investigations have proved this to be true. He doesn’t ask anymore. He snorts, remembering how last time you looked at him incredulously and asked if he was a Republican, since he was “all up in your womb.” 

However, you do keep menstrual products in your bag when he’s predicted it. You also spend quite some time at his place, so he does note when there’s pad wrappers in his bathroom trash bin.

Last year, the day he knew you were the one, his One, he brewed you a tea before bed. Its sedative contents ensured you wouldn't wake. So, Damian pulled off your pants, and collected a sample from you as you slept. Of course, he did so with sterile, sexless precision –  Damian wasn’t a pervert or deviant. He sniffs. He’s better than that. Even if his hands did linger.

Test results proved you were healthy and fertile. He remembers being proud. As expected, you were perfect in all things.

awright, so this piece was originally part of a comic-thing that i sketched out in my sketchbook. but it was just something i slapped on figuring i'd rework the composition later. well, i couldn't. it was too crowded. so this is severely reduced from the original plan.

the gist of it is that: obv the top left connor is connor-51. the side connor is actually connor-52. 51 died in "the hostage", but he did still manage to save emma! (i blame dbh youtube poop for making me think connor and daniel could shoot each other. so even tho thats not canon, let's just pretend that happened here lol)

now when you move files on your device, you aren't actually moving them. what you're doing is essentially copying the file into a new location and erasing the original. and based on this premise, i have inflicted an existential crisis on 52! :D it's sort of similar to soma, and their brain scans. is 52 the same person as 51? is it a continued existence or did 51 as a person die on that terrace, with 52 just simulating continued existence?

the game has conflicting stances there: on one hand, connor often says shit like "my predecessor was destroyed", implying that he thinks he's a different person. on the other, he also says shit like "i'll be back" and "this isn't over". and additionally, if hank has chosen to force quit life but connor still turns deviant, connor gets wrecked by 60 and to win, "transfers" himself into 60's unharmed body. and this is framed like an actual transfer.

i feel like if the data is "moved", it's not the same person anymore. to ensure the data transfer doesn't essentially kill the person and resurrect them as a clone of themselves, I think you'd need to physically disconnect, move and reconnect the memory storage device. if we're basing android physiology on currently existing tech, at least. but that's just my headcanon i use to inflict existential dread.

as you can see I've struggled a lot with this work :P i think i got to a point where this looks pretty fine to me (i still really like how i drew 52 here), although it could deffo be better.

i really want to also draw markus more. i've never even made a proper illustration for him but honestly i tried to digitally paint the grenade launcher scene bc its so pretty and i failed miserably. painting in digital is so hard?? idk i should research some stuff on how to do that because i really want to paint that scene still.

holy shit this year marks 10 years of this blog and moz!! i can't remember the exact date i started posting here - my archive says i have one post from november 2013 but let's disregard that - but i do remember it was around late 2014/early 2015 :)

memories and art through the years under a read more bc it got long

2014 → baby's first rpg!! i started playing fnv on my cousin's jailbroken xbox late 2013 and finished mid 2014 and i loved every minute of it. i remember waking up at 8am and playing almost nonstop until 2am the next day haha!

i didn't play moz on my first playthrough - but i did start creating a character that would eventually become her: a shorthaired ex-boxer who punched her way through obstacles when diplomacy failed. i remember she spent a lot of time with boone. i liked him then, because he saved my ass more times than i can count. but i digress. this is draft 1 moz essentially

2015 → this is the year that i was doing my thesis so i could graduate but i was so depressed and stressed about it that i distracted myself by replaying fnv on pc, where i played through the dlcs for the first time. i fell in love with the dlcs' oversarching story; particularly ulysses, who i became obssessed with, especially since i couldn't find any content of him at the time. in the game, i played as moz; i had most of her personality and choices down, but her backstory was still up in the air.

fun fact: this was an existing sideblog that i remade to be a fallout blog so i could look for ulysses content, and when i couldn't find any, i made some myself, featuring moz as my main courier six. originally, i didn't ship them, but eventually i ended the year as a courier/ulysses otp shipper.

this was the year i started drawing digitally - my uncle let me borrow a drawing tablet and i used an old copy of photoshop i pirated hehe

2016 → i graduated this year!! and promptly fell deeper into my depression. this was the year that it got so bad that i had to be medicated. through it all, this blog and moz and ulysses and my fandom friends were with me. and for that i am truly grateful :) this was the year i figured out how to lock transparent pixels so that i could color my lineart lol

2017 → i started hammering out moz's backstory this year i think. there's a lot of sketches of her and her family in my files. i experimented with shading and backgrounds here but that experimentation was pretty short-lived

2018 → i started using references seriously!!!! i did a lot of oc on oc kissing this year, featuring mostly moz and many friend ocs haha

2019 → didn't draw much this year. actually this year was a blur and i can't remember much from it except from it being the year of my terrible no good bad copywriting jobs... anyway i did manage to continue my courier/ulysses brainrot and make this piece, which i'm still proud of

2020 → pandemic time. i spent a lot of time asleep at home and i think this was also the year i started doing commissions?? shoutout to anyone who has ever commissioned me - thank you so much, i truly appreciate it!!

2021 → i switched from my old-ass pirated photoshop to clip studio paint and never looked back. also i did a bunch of commissions for my grandmother's surgery, which failed, and i distracted myself from the sadness by drawing my ocs over and over and playing disco elysium

2022 → by this year, i've got moz down pat and have started vaguely developing other ocs instead. but she's still always at the back of my mind

2023 → i bought new brushes from true grit texture supply and immediately found new favorites that i started using for everything. i tentatively started incorporating background elements in some pieces!

2024 → while it's still too early to say where this year will lead me art-wise, i will say that i started experimenting in realistic paint studio (which i bought in 2021, the same time as clip studio paint) a few days ago and i'm liking the results so far. we'll see!

all in all, these last 10 years have been quite a ride, but i'm glad i stuck around and i'm glad you guys stuck around too!! much much love 💖💖💖

I found your blog while searching up Narnia stuffs bc it’s my hyperfixation/childhood and I have to say I just am obsessed with your art style and headcannons! They are so unique and I love them so much :0

I do a lot of drawing and I want to work on my cartoon style, I really like basic shaped characters if that make sense? Could you give me some tips with drawing like that? Especially when sketching, and different body types/hair stuffs 🥲 I would really appreciate it! I have so many ideas but I never put them to paper (or tablet in some cases lol) and I’d love to hear from someone with experience !!

Hey, thanks for the ask!! First thing I’ll say is I fully relate to having so many ideas but never doing them, I have a very long notes app file of art ideas. Also love that you love my Narnia stuff, it has also been a pretty big thing for me since childhood!

My overarching advice that’s more generic is keep drawing. In highschool I drew like every day (I doodled in pretty much every class I ever had) and I never really focused on a style, it just kind of happens over time. It’s also ok if it changes.

Figure out why you like the things you do(whether it’s another artists art or the art style from a show or movie) draw from life, sketch quickly (sometimes when I sketch I get too in my head and the drawing can be stiff. When that happens I draw a new one with that as reference but try to make it looser quicker.)

I’m kind of all over the place in my attempt with advice here, bear with me.

A thing that has helped me (and Iactively still do, as per my most recent art post) is doing studies. So just drawing what you see for practice. Sometimes stylizing it sometimes just literally drawing what you see. I like finding screenshots from shows I like and recreating them because it takes away the work of figuring out colours, composition, posing, backgrounds etc. and I can just focus on the technique I’m using.

I’ll always recommend looking at reference from life even if you have a cartoon style, especially if it’s people you like to draw learning how real life people look and move helps with drawing a stylized version. Look for shapes. Sometimes I “trace” over a reference photo but quickly and with simplified shapes to get an idea of what a simplified version of that body type would look.

If you like simplified shape characters, draw basic shapes and building characters from them, whether it’s literally a bill cipher triangle dude or you just incorporate a triangle in the main body of the character if that makes sense.

If you want to draw variety in body type and hair, make sure you have a variety of references! There’s also lots of great art tutorials out there so you can look for those too on most social media platforms and find something if you’re ever struggling with something specific like a specific hairstyle or a type of clothing.

Hopefully some of that is helpful, this is the best I could come up with off the top of my head.

I started drawing the og 16 lyctors firstly because I got inspired by other people's art and also because they're the characters that most fascinate me.

It started with me being silly but actually evolved into a ten-day art journey and while I wanna set some of these portraits on fire I thought I'd include them all to, hopefully, inspire someone.

I'll also be mentioning the fancast I used as inspiration, many of which I chose because ✨vibes✨ and nothing else. Here's a pinterest file of them all.

Gideon (Flo Rida) and Pyrrha (Salma Hayek). Valancy (Jamie Zella) and Cyrus (Drew Ray Tanner).

For some reason when thinking of Gideon, Flo Rida is what came to my mind... but trust me it works. Salma is just my favourite milf, I had to pick her for Pyrrha. For Valancy I heard curvy thicc and remember Jamie from Instagram so why not make her Asian and ginger? If Mercy gets her peach hair.

Ulysses (Jack Black/Harvey Guillen) and Titania (Jordan Daniels). Alfred (Shaun Evans) and Augustine (Peter Cushing).

Now, you can see I started struggling with the face claims, fail after fail. I did not do my girl Tits justice here, she looks too serious but trust me she's just so chill. I also sketched the Quinques too small, and when it was time to outline... poor Alfred suffered.

Cassiopeia (Alba Flores) and Nigella (Eiza Gonzallez). Loveday (Noémie Lenoir) and Cytherea (Isabelle Adjani).

Here is where I started having fun and was comfortable with the faceclaims, except for Nigella's. I chose a pretty woman to do justice to Mercy's words, but she was pretty in that modern conventional way I couldn't extract much from and ended up ruining her portrait. As an easter egg each pair of fancast speak the same languages.

Mercymorn (Sophie Marceu) and Cristabel (Sofia Coppola). Samael (César Domboy) and Anastasia (Mona Tougaard).

I was on a row here, even if they're not the best I could've done. I put some pressure on myself to do well on Mercy bc she's my favourite and do like how she turned out even if I picture her chubbier than my faceclaim.

Did I choose Coppola bc of that scene from The Godfather 3 with the veil? Yes. I also have the headcanon that Anastasia was a sturdier woman and slowly her descendency shrunk to Harrow size.

Beside each of the portraits I did a looser drawing of the pairs in ballpoint pen that I progressively put more thought into it, those are too ugly to show but the few last I really liked it.

Flashfire Info Dump

So when I was 11 - 13 I came up with this superhero concept, and I changed the story alot over the years and it's basically become unrecognizable, but I have 3 seasons worth of lore written (It was planned to be a TV show on cartoon network) and alot of it is really good, so I've decided to turn it into a Sakuga Anime / Manga, since I think I would fit the style more, anyway I remembered it existed the other night while I was listening to my JRock playlist, and (idk if this is normal or not so I'm about to word this like it's a unique thing) when I listen to JRock I basically make up Anime Intros in my head, and I used to do it alot with this guy, but to those cringey motivational rock songs, like Zayde Wolf and The Score, but seeing as he isn't really going to a be an American style superhero anymore, I am going to redesign him, he's going to look kinda like a mix between Izuku from My Hero (general proportions and face style), and Shizuka from Zom 100 (big jacket and backpack), so, seeing as this design is not going to be used anymore, I thought I'd post it bc I don't need to worry about people stealing it as much :)

So in my clear folder where I stored these drawings, I had tabs, for "good guys", "gods", and "Villains", but I might cut the entire concept of Gods out because they aren't even mentioned in any of the story (except Heratiss but they are less God than Phariah, it's hard to explain), I just wanted to include them because I liked designing them

there are aliens, but they will probably be heavily redesigned, also you can probably see the skill gap in my art between Erion and Krast

Heratiss (awful name) has a big role in the story, and Deepsea (bad name aswell) has a neat design, but the design doesn't fit what his character is supposed to be (also he may be cut entirely because you can probably guess his whole concept)

I didn't know how to draw women at the time, but she will probably have the biggest design change. Because her design is awful and I was half asleep when I drew it and never changed it but she has a huge part of the story and I hate this design so much omg

I hate this one so much, bad weapon design, bad character design, bad name, bad concept aaaaa

Anyway, there are more characters, but they weren't in the "current design" clear folder, over the 4 years of this mess I had already redesigned characters way too much, to the point where I had a second clear file full of "yet to be redesigned" but thats for another time

Also when I was drawing these characters, I didn't know what concept art was, so I literally made up their designs in one go, instead of doing sketches and trying things that didn't work, I just drew them without thinking (I learned from that experience)

think of this post as kinda a little artbook for the fic! sword of frost underwent a ton of revisions like i keep saying so i wasnt entirely sure where to take it at first. not to mention writing is v hard for me so my preferred method of brainstorming was drawing! without further ado. writer’s commentary and an artbook :)

to begin with: originally the fic was supposed to be about void dream instead of the snow queen! the idea being that dante was put to sleep by void dream and faust manifested her personal ego to save him- but i ended up going with snow queen bc i saw some sick art on twitter of someone’s employee saving another from snow queen (i wish i had the link bc it was rlly cool, and i’d like to credit them in some way) and i decided that might be a little easier to write for, surprisingly.

up next we have the art for chapter 1! there wasn’t a lot of it but just the stuff i wanted to do with it. i wanted to make this a bigger piece but having to like. paint the prisms pissed me off so i decided against it lmao. the reason for dante wandering into the containment in the first place was originally supposed to be that an employee’s lamp weapon enchanted him from afar and he kept chasing the light until he came upon the snow queen, but i realized he could also. just walk in there on his own lol

the actual csp file containing the layout of the facility + the groups i split everyone into was unfortunately lost in a computer moment so. its just the main group here! i chose everyone based on who i wanted to write and interpret- nothing against the other sinners, i had just been itching to write these ones in particular.

The Fight. i rlly like how i did this one still! writing this scene was also super fun bc i got to use my imagination and mimic how the movements would go :)

but now here’s the wildin part: chapter 2 was supposed to be very different! originally the idea was that dante woke up fine, but changed. kinda like how in the original tale of the snow queen kai became jaded and hated everything he saw, bc the mirror was in his eyes and the snow queen was the only thing he found beautiful- dante was supposed to become competent and uncaring, but hollow inside. the little shard of ice inside his heart wasn’t fully gone, and a kiss could undo it! i found myself struggling with how to pull that off in a satisfying way so i opted for something cooler instead, bc i wanted to make the fic less predictable and maybe more memorable.

there was supposed to be a scene in dante’s office, so i wanted to imagine what it would look like! plus a brief sketch of an ego based on the roses

dante was supposed to unbutton his shirt a little and reveal the ice shard still lodged in there (bc the Tension yknow?) and ryoshu and faust talking abt how dante’s clearly changed.

yoink! the plan was always for a kiss to thaw the ice but i wanted to do something cool and dramatic for art that night i think.

now abt this point i realized i wanted to do something different, so i went back to an EGO dante thing i made for a server request! i absolutely loved how i did this one, so it ended up being the basis for his corroded form in chapter 2.

as for the final bits of concept art, it was mostly from when i decided to change chapter 2- just stuff to plan the actual concept and get it down before i started writing.

i ended up not liking the second “redesign” of the corroded form as much, so i went with the one i drew before. and finally. the art i posted of snow queen dante not long before i finished the fic proper!

so that was sword of frost! v interesting to write but certainly will not be my last limbus fic lmao. i hope to get more things done before the game drops!

number one headcanon: he can and will be a fan of system of the down bc it’s literally autism metal with specific critique of the us government. Literally him but metal

because of this drawing will made, i like to think he and will’s favorite movie as younger kids was monty python and the holy grail!! the way will drew the man being eaten is pretty similar to the black knight from the movie after he loses his limbs

idk it has the type of stupid humor i think they’d love, plus all the fantasy elements.

i feel like they would also both pretend to gag and throw up whenever the house of virgins scenes started because ewwwwww girls have cooties 😝 and they watch it when they’re older but instead of gagging like little kids they make fun of the clear over exaggerations and stereotypes. neither of them could imagine any of the women in their lives being like that

i think mike can draw a little bit. he’s by no means Will Byers but i think he’s been doing little sketches in the margins of his notebooks his whole life so he was bound to learn how to draw some things. he can’t do crazy dynamic stuff, but he’s got a stupid cartoon orc he draws all over the place and he tried to copy different comic book art styles for fun sometimes so he’s got a unique little doodle style. when he gets really into one of his worlds while writing and can’t think of a way to describe a certain thing, he tries to do a mini sketch of it at the top right of the notebook paper so he can envision it a little more easily

SPEAKING OF he totally spent like 30 minutes trying to master the skater S to impress will (he’s known how to do it for months and hasn’t told mike)

he color codes his class materials and gets pissed when anyone disagrees with the colors he assigned to each class. lucas said english was yellow and he didn’t talk to him for like 3 days (they still passed notes during chemistry when lucas needed help with the math or mike couldn’t remember a chemical formula)

he has physical files he keeps of his friends, like reference notes and concerns and reminders, and they all sit under his bed. if you ask him this is Completely Normal behavior

when he and will move out to the city, he finds out he loves the ballroom scene. he never participates because he would trip and fall if he tried to do anything those people do but he adopts the flashiness into his style a little bit, kinda like how he sucked a little bit of eddie into his new look. like kirby. anyway i think he flares things up a little when he moves out to the city with bracelets and long shirts with flares at the wrists and his rhinestone belt over jeans and boots he got for $5 and they have a two inch heel to make him even taller. i don’t know anything about fashion but i think he adopts some ballroom flair into his look in the 90’s

he gets the heart+crown tattooed over the scar he got trying to sacrifice himself to save will

hates beer but drinks it as a teenager anyway if it’s an option, but as he gets older and into his more “fuck it we ball” attitude he learns that he REALLY likes mimosas and just any kind of wine

shockingly good at table tennis. He should not be good at table tennis the way he plays but he Is and it’s Weird

he can do the thing with your finger where you bend it to make it looks like it’s broken and he used it as a kid to make dustin feel a little better about his own stuff

HAAAAAATES shrimp. Absolutely despises it.

whenever he revisits hawkins he lays a flower down on the field for bob, barb, and eddie and tells them he hopes they’re doing okay wherever they are. sometimes he holds eddie’s flower a little longer and thanks him for all his help and talks about his latest dnd campaign or date plans with will (he likes to think eddie would be proud that he finally accepted it and even managed to win will’s heart back)

One of the most difficult poses to sketch out. I spent like an hour trying different poses and styles to get it to work properly and OH BOY AM I HAPPY WITH HOW THIS TURNED OUT!!! This was one of the quickest outfit sketches I did aside from Alacrity's bc something just clicked when you said that. God himself was like '+25 to your next inspiration roll' and I just about died.

This one... Look I dont draw me often. This was a Struggle(tm) and 90% of this was on ghe fly BUT i finally got it done and i like this version MUCH better than the last one!! How much of a Struggle? I spent 2 hours working out a 3 color pallette and altered 2 of them, added 4 more, and didnt use one at all. I'm the tallest one here. It's amazing and hysterical. I'm almost 5'9" and not a single one of you is over 5'5". It's glorious.

These two (there’s a couple others on the acct too) are of one of my dragons when I was active on FlightRising, a light.. uhhhh mirror? I think they were called. The four-eyed skull draggos named Mjolnir

He was given to me by my friend and tied into our clan lores (Sidereus, her primary dragon, took Mjol from the clan matriarch who was going to basically live sacrifice him. Cal, my leader/a pearl took him in as one of their own)

Mjolnir was one of my first/primary coli dragons so we played tf out of the “brawn over brain” trope for him. Following mirror lore, his wings didn’t develop fully so he was never able to fly like the others, using a cable system similar to the 3DMD from SNK/AOT to clear ground fast.

Anyway tldr Sid had to babysit him a lot and teach him about a lot of shit including what was/n’t edible and sexuality bc Mjolnir was baby. We made jokes about how he’d see those brightly colored d*ldos and think they were candy/try and eat them (and Sid would have a fuckin heart attack)

i don’t have any four year old fanarts from campaign one to redraw, but i wanted to join in on the fun anyway, and did a redraw of my Very First critical role fanart i did at the very beginning of campaign two of my VERY FAVOURITE CHARACTERS (then and now still), best disaster tieflings 💙💜

i wanted to bring a bit more life and action into the redraw as well, without straying too far from the original drawing. just. get more of their character in there. and more colour too.

A/N: Thanks for the request! I decided to combine your two prompts into one. I’ve never done requests before and I didn’t know how well I can do them so I thought in case this is bad, it’s better to have one disappointment than two :/ It came out very cheesy smh. Also excuse the misleading title since they won’t actually be “studying” in this. Anyway, hope you like it!

Roger tapped his pencil at the edge of his drawing file as he looked at you. Your head was lying on the armrest of the couch and your feet were stretched into his lap.

“Roger?” you started, not removing your eyes from the paper in front of you. He hummed in response. “Stop that,” you said.

“Stop what?” he asked innocently, with the corners of his mouth turning up.

“The tapping,” you looked up at him seriously.

“Oh.” Roger put down his file and stretched his arms leisurely. He put an arm over the back of the couch and leaned his head on it.

Both of you had to submit a self-portrait for the art class you were taking that semester. You had often studied or worked on projects together since high school. You got work done only half the time because you’d always end up finding ways to distract yourselves in each other’s company. 

But this submission was important and you had both promised to do nothing but work, except Roger just couldn’t focus.

He wasn’t fully conscious of it, but his gaze rested on your face. You looked messier than usual, given the stress of finals, but he loved the way your hair unintentionally fell out around your face. He observed the way your tongue poked out slightly in the look of pure concentration on your face and he smiled to himself.

“Y/N, I’m bored,” he whined.

“Come on, Roger the deadline is this week. If we don’t do this right we might just fail,” you looked at him sadly.

“Nah, we won’t fail,” he said lightly tickling your feet. You laughed and instinctively kicked your foot violently into the air. “Geez,” Roger laughed.

“Not unless you don’t start working on your portrait now.” You reminded him.

He didn’t react, but extended his arm to the side of your head and pulled it back to show you the coin he had supposedly pulled from behind your ear, grinning smugly.

You rolled your eyes. “Roger, come on. You’re distracting me. We promised we will try to focus.”

“Ugh, this is so stupid! How can they grade us on art anyway? Isn’t art the reflection of the soul? And if this is a world where one soul gets to assess the worth of another soul, much less assess it by a presentation that the soul may or may not accurately be able to express, then I don’t want to be in this world,” he huffed.

“Well too bad you’re already in this world. And you don’t get to leave it anytime soon, not without me at least. Now your soul might just be expressed as a little dot on this paper but the professor’s soul sure as hell won’t give you a grade for that.” You sighed. “So, we have to adhere to the rules of this world and make a presentable self-portrait that appeals to the majority of art intellectuals and academics, and most importantly, the professor.” You looked back down to your page and murmured, “Come on. We got this.”

With that, you returned to the file resting on your thigh. Roger’s amused eyes lingered on you for a few moments longer, filled with adoration. He reached for his pencil and returned his attention to his file.

After about an hour, you felt frustration take over. You glanced up to find Roger already looking at you, but he quickly looked away when he saw you noticing.

“Roger I can’t do this!” You said, slapping down your file. He looked up and you continued, “This is impossible. I can’t draw myself. I don’t even remember how I look anymore!”

“Like an ogre,” he smirked.

“Not fucking funny,” you gritted your teeth as you threw a cushion at him. “This looks so ugly.”

Roger peered over your file to look at your portrait, and just blinked at it. “Y/N, this is fantastic,” he whispered. He saw your faithless expression. “I’m not kidding, it really is beautiful,“ he tried to convince but you still looked dejected. “Hey, you know, it looks very you. So at least you've got the concept of self-portrait down?” He offered.

You had your eyebrow cocked as you stared at him weirdly. “Whatever. This was a practice sketch anyway,” you said as you began to rip the page out of the notebook.

“Don’t do that!” Roger cried.

“Look I can’t hand this in. I’ve drawn closed eyelids. And it looks bland. You know I can’t draw eyes for shit but I feel like it looks lazy to draw closed lids without a purpose.” You finished tearing the page, and looked up to see Roger’s expression frozen in panic. Just as you were about to crumple up the page, Roger grabbed your knee to stop you.

“At least-“ he sighed, “at least let me have it.” He avoided your gaze as he took the portrait from your hand, hiding his reddening cheeks, and carefully placed it on the coffee table.

You sat in silence for a minute before you said: “Show me yours.”

“No,” he returned.

You looked at him in disbelief. “Show me!” you pressed as you reached over to grab his file.

“No!” he repeated as he backed the file away from your reach.

You put down your drawing file and got up on your knees to get further. You ignored Roger’s protests as he murmured “No, stop it!” while you climbed over him to get to the file.

Roger loved the proximity, and couldn’t help but glance down at the back of your leg, where your pyjama shorts where high up your thigh, given your stretched-out body. He always loved those shorts on you.

In his distraction, you were able to reach the file, and Roger gave in. You blew out air as you sat down with it and looked at two gorgeous eyes drawn on the sheet.

“Wow,” you gasped. You studied the eyes. Although he pretended to have limited interest in it, you always knew he could draw extremely well, since you’d caught plenty of glimpses of his doodles in his school notebooks. This pair of eyes, however, was breath-taking.

“But they don’t look like yours,” you thought aloud. You didn’t notice how Roger’s cheeks seemed to have changed permanently to crimson. He scratched the back of his neck and put his hand inside the top of his shirt.

“That’s because they’re not.”

“Forgot the ‘self’ in ‘self-portrait Rog?” you laughed. “Well, whose are they then?”

Roger looked at you with an expression you couldn’t decipher. After seeming to contemplate it, he briefly stated, “Yours.”  

You stared at him, confused and not knowing what to say. He seemed uncomfortable. “They’re your eyes, Y/N. I think they’re beautiful.”

“Oh,” you said. “Well...they’re sure prettier on here than the real thing,” you joked, a little taken aback.

“Well, in any case, I can’t ever seem to look away.” He drew in a breath and took your hands in both of his. “Y/N I can’t do this anymore.”

You sat up straighter as you looked at him with concern. “Do what?”

“I can’t keep looking at you and not be able to do anything else.” His eyes roamed the room. “You probably think of me as some kind of an idiot, but…whenever I’m with you I just want to stay with you, and I can’t focus because you’re all I can think about. I’ve wanted to tell you for so long and now I-”

He stopped abruptly as you reached out to brush your knuckles on the side of his head. He looked at you as you gazed back into his wide eyes that were slowly growing droopy. “Roger,” you breathed as you took in his words. “Can I-do you want me to kiss you?”

Roger closed his eyes for a moment as his silent breath quickened. “More than anything,” he said softly, his breath fanning your face.

You leaned forward to brush your lips with his. You then kissed him properly, and felt his arms wrap around your waist. You laced your fingers in his blonde hair as his hands swiftly roamed your body, seeming unable to settle at just one place.

You pulled away to catch a breath, and he chased your lips with his. You looked up at him to see him part his eyelids slowly, a dopey smile playing across his lips.

“Roger, I really like you. No. More than that. I don’t know what it is but I have felt it for quite a while now,” you said nervously.

“Really?” He smiled. “Y/N, you don’t know how happy that makes me. I really, really like you too.”

Silence fell over as you two simply smiled at each other like idiots. Your gaze then dropped to the two pieces of art lying in front of you. “You’ve drawn the part of me that I couldn’t figure out for myself,” you observed, looking at the pair of eyes he drew.

“I suppose that’s right,” Roger chuckled.

You smiled broadly at him and raised your eyebrows. You put on a high pitched voice and a dramatic accent to say “I guess you complete me.”

Roger rolled his eyes but laughed as he pinned you down on the couch to dive in with his lips. Once again, you two had found a way to distract yourselves from work.

god also i was going through old files on my computer and saving all my old pieces and wips from before my flashdrive, onto my flashdrive, and came across some fuckin relics so lets go through these shall we

first off we got someone?? a guy in a weird happy falling pose that i never finished?? the file was named kyle.sai and i assume i knew what it meant at the time but now im drawing a blank. only thing i can think is that he has no bellybutton so either i didnt finish the sketch and have no idea whats going on or this was a doodle from my very brief obsession with kyle xy which tbh sounds more likely so uhh. yeah

then some taakos bc i was planning on doing a ref page of that wizard boy and figuring out how i draw him but got two poses in before something happened and i dropped it but i like him so im including it anyways

then oh boy. oh boy. we got some fossils up there folks. those three middle pics youre looking at are some of the first drawings i did of the beta quest crew. oh boy. ghorzas outfit before i settled on her color palette, and before i learned how to fuckin draw non stick people (aka WITH CALVES YOU CANT WRAP A HAND AROUND DAMMIT YOUNGER ME), and before i boosted her height by almost double (GOD she was so short for some reason?? idk). the twins, god, the twins. i cannot describe the horror i felt in my bones when i saw this old ass picture of them. the poses. the anatomy. the colors god why did i saturate kofis outfit so much oh my god. also mofis got a staff for some reason?? where did it come from? ive literally never seen that staff before and i haevnt thought of it ever when did i include a staff as part of their getup i dont even know and im starting to get a headache
