What do you think of Kakashi’s character? Personally I find him really overrated… He must be one of most popular, if not the most popularNaruto character, and I find him so boring and forgettable. I never have the feeling that he is actually doing things outsides of fight? Like he already got most of his development before we see him appear, so during the most of the story he stays the same… And also he’s a pretty bad teacher too in my opinion
Hope you have a good day 💕
i actually love kakashi i think he’s hot. he is totally overrated by fans who think he’s way stronger than he is, but honestly that’s cuz he looks cool as fuck. the hidden secret magic red eye from his dead friend? he oozes cool
i think all of his flaws and lameness are important to his character like that’s why he’s interesting… kakashi shows up and is the coolest most powerful person the kids have ever met!! he reads porn in public and shows up late and can fight anyone. but he’s like your dad in that he’s only the strongest person in the world because he’s your dad. you’re gonna grow up and realize your dad is only kinda strong and in fact has lots of issues.
i dunno if he has a good character arc but i like to think about the characters in terms of sasuke and naruto. and i think kakashi is a lot like both of them. i think despite all his failings he understood them way better than most people did (and bc of this was a slightly less useless teacher than he appears). he’s this weird mix of extremely depressed and disillusioned with the system but also unfailingly loyal to it because it’s the only thing he knows and the only place he’s received love and a purpose … i think looking at him tells us a lot about sasuke and naruto!!
ALSO i think the two idolized extreme prodigies (kakashi and itachi) both having shit lives and becoming mentally pretty fucked up after having to kill their loved ones is sooo interesting. in this world where children are shoved through child soldier school as fast as possible… like hmmm maybe this doesn’t turn out happy and fulfilled members of society LOL

hey love everything you post! I’ve had a thought about the au you did were Mikoto was Misaki biological dad. What if instead Mikoto raised Misaki as a single dad? Like Yata mamma died in child birth or something. How do you think it would change the Sarumi development and plot?
So in this scenario we're basically saying what if Kusanagi raised him XD Though really I think this would lead to like a 'Yata has three daddies' scenario, where Mikoto brings the kid to the bar and Kusanagi isn't sure if he should be happy that Mikoto didn't kidnap a kid or annoyed that Mikoto went and had a kid without telling anyone. Like say in this AU Yata's mom is more around Mikoto's age and they have like a one night stand sort of thing, Mikoto doesn't think anything of it until one day Yata's mom tracks him down and tells him she's pregnant and she's pretty sure the kid is his (also let's say in this scenario that Yata Mom's last name is Yata, otherwise this could get confusing). Mikoto figures he'll just have to like pay child support or something, he's pretty sure that he wouldn't be good to have in the kid's life. Yata's mom asks him to at least be present for the birth and he agrees, but then things end up going south and Yata's mom dies shortly after giving birth. She did put Mikoto's name on the birth certificate as the kid's father though so now Mikoto is basically like handed a baby and he has no idea what to do except take the kid to Kusanagi and let him figure it out.
From this point the Homra trio probably work together to raise the kid, Kusanagi's not sure if just leaving Mikoto to handle this by himself will go very well. Yata's basically raised in the bar – learning at a young age that no, we do not break, destroy or scuff anything in Uncle Izumo's bar – and he has a major hero worship for his dad, Yata thinks his dad is just the coolest guy in the world. In this AU Yata wouldn't have any of that feeling of not belonging, like maybe he does feel a bit weird compared to his peers because he has three weird dads instead of a mom and he lives upstairs in a bar but he does feel like he has a whole 'family' in Homra. Say he ends up at Himuka middle school because Kusanagi thinks they should try to get Yata into kind of a nicer school, except Yata still doesn't fit in there because he's just as loud and energetic as ever. Yata still saves Fushimi from the bullies because he's against anyone who picks on the weak, though in this AU I could see Yata actually winning because he's learned to fight from Mikoto. He's not afraid of getting scolded by teachers either, Yata's learned that if he gets in trouble for doing the right thing his dads will have his back and anyway most of his teachers are probably afraid to call his parents because they don't want to have to deal with Yata's scary gang leader dad or even his more pleasant but probably a mafia boss dad or his extremely pleasant but also kind of worrisome friendly hobby dad.
Yata and Fushimi end up becoming friends like in canon but now I'm thinking instead of running away to live together Yata probably tries to convince Mikoto to let him kidnap Fushimi pretty much. Kusanagi isn't sure they have room for another kid at the bar but then the first time Yata brings Fushimi over the Homra trio can see why Yata feels so strongly about wanting to help his friend, like of course Fushimi never says anything about his family situation but I think the Homra trio would be able to read between the lines a little there and I could see Yata like taking Fushimi upstairs for a sleepover and Kusanagi suggesting he, Mikoto and Totsuka have a little talk about Yata's very obviously abused best friend. Maybe Mikoto even decides to pay Niki a brief visit, imagine him just showing up at Fushimi's house one day smoking a cigarette and introducing himself as the dad of Fushimi's best friend and making it clear that if anything happens to break Yata and Fushimi's friendship Mikoto might have to intervene (not that this stops Niki, who finds this more amusing than anything).
I'm thinking in this AU the jungle party would probably never happen, or if it did maybe Yata and Fushimi try to mess things up knowing jungle is run by a King. By this point Mikoto would have found his King powers and both Yata and Fushimi probably know about it, Yata really wants to join Homra but keeps being told he's too young (when Anna joins later he's just like okay so she's fine but you made me wait two years no fair). Fushimi doesn't really 'want' to join but he does want power so he can keep up with Misaki and I could see him still having some jealousy here, that Yata knows all these people with powers who are so amazing and Fushimi needs to like constantly keep up or else Misaki won't look at him. They decide to try and go after jungle to show that they're strong enough to become Homra members but they still fail and have to be saved, however after that Mikoto decides to let them join because he figures the kids will keep doing this kind of stuff otherwise. From there I imagine things going similar to canon, Fushimi seeing how Yata instantly fits in because he's been basically Homra's prince from birth and here's Fushimi who's suddenly just 'Yata's friend' and nothing else, who feels like after all that time of wanting to join Homra now that they're members it's like Misaki's moving away from him and they aren't a team anymore.
#Yata Misaki#Talking K#Yata being like 'my dad can beat up your dad'#and Fushimi's all I hope so#Yata would have such hero worship it would probably be worse than in canon#bc his dad is the strongest and coolest and can fight anyone#though then post-S1 he'd probably be in even deeper depression
