ok so abt that au i was talking abt before,,, 🥺👉👈

To start off, this is something I’ve had in the back of my mind for quite a bit that I haven’t been able to fully express and show due to reasons I’ll mention later. This project has lowkey given me some brainrot so I hope my words don’t just sound like I’m going clinically insane LMAOO i swear I’m so definitely normal abt my aus guys (denial)

Dead Casino is a twst au I’ve had for a while but has been on the backburner for being very unfinished. However, since it’s a little (keyword: little) bit more fleshed out, I think I can at least give a general summary on the concept !! :D

First off, the concept behind it was a direct inspiration from mlp infection aus I’ve seen on insta. Since mlp was a large chunk of my childhood and certain variants of horror had become an interest of mine as of late, I liked the idea of mixing them together. But—of course—when I enjoy something just enough, it eventually becomes a feeling of “how can I forcefully throw it in with my current obsession into the mind equivalent of a blender” and Dead Casino was the smoothie that came out of it. Essentially, the resulting foundation is that NRC experiences a zombie apocalypse, but as with most things I obsess over, I wanted to build on that.

To get into the nitty gritty of it first, there’s a few core things abt the infection that basically effect not only what the characters face, but the story itself:

The infection is primarily based off of blot, and the concept of it using something/someone as a vessel to control and harm others

While blot zombies are the most common creature plaguing the school, blot has the capability to take over different objects as well when under specific circumstances, which leads to the creation of (mostly) nonhuman blot infested monsters

Over-accumulation of blot can lead to an increased vulnerability to the infection. This especially targets those that have overblotted prior to the outbreak, even if they had seemingly “fully recovered” :)

As for the story, I don’t wanna get super into it just bc yknow spoilers, but the general overview is relatively simple(ish). Basically, it folllows Ace and the rest of his group of survivors (mostly Cater, Trey and Jade) after the initial outbreak on campus. I wanna say anywhere from a month to a month and a half?? Basically enough time to be at least a little more accustomed to everything going on if that makes sense !!

Ace and co. take refuge in classrooms near the cafeteria, but just like everyone else, is not allowed to leave the safezone unless permitted. Surprise surprise, he leaves the safezone not permitted. In fact he does this multiple times through the first couple chapters alone. And the whole story.

But essentially, Ace manages to figure out two things the first time he leaves the safezone in the prologue:

That there are living survivors in Heartslabyul trapped there under the rule of their infected housewarden, which—by extension—likely means the situation may be the same in other dorms

That both Deuce Spade and Grim—who he hadn’t seen since the outbreak and assumed were dead—were actually alive and MIA.

And that basically kickstarts the rest of the story !! The main group infiltrates different dorms in the hopes of reconnecting with any survivors, all while trying to solve the mystery of their old friends’ whereabouts :)

Now the reason why a good chunk of this au was pretty much kept under wraps was for one main reason specifically: I had zero clue how to present it.

My initial thought was “oh!! Fanfic :3” and then it scrambled into “…comic? Animation? No?? Both?? Neither??”

…and then it kinda just sat there. I had the story, I had the idea, I had the biggest brainrot, but no way to properly explain or show it. And then I got the thought that plagues me every single time—at least once—I join a fandom: make it a video game.

At first, i wasn’t going to. But then it clicked into place just a bit too well and the ideas kept coming together and it wouldn’t stop and now we’re here :3

More specifically, Dead Casino is gonna be portrayed as a desktop game ^^ (i took like two game dev classes, sue me /j)

I mean Hephaestus is an incel if you consider the myth of him sexually assaulting Athena soon after he got divorced. But he's not the only incel.

Talking about that dialogue I found it funny once you remove Hermes' line about Hephaestus being a cripple. Them talking about how unlucky they are in love is so funny. Ik outside of Lucian's verse they'd had a lot of lovers (Apollo has all the nine Muses for god's sake) but let me have this!

Lucian says Aglaia was his wife in Lemnos and Aphrodite was his wife in heaven. So it could be that Aphrodite doesn't know about Aglaia. Or that Hephaestus keeps it separate (unlike Aphrodite who slept with her lover in her and Hephaestus' bed) and so she doesn't mind.

There's a rather wholesome dialogue between Apollo and Hephaestus in the forge before this one, where he warns Hephaestus to look out for baby Hermes who's going around stealing other people's stuff. Which again makes me think that Apollo's never seen this dude outside the forge and that's why he thinks Hephaestus is always sweaty and sooty and goes to bed like that lmaoo

Yeah like the only myth where he is an incel is with Athena (darn shame too bc their friendship was probably sweet af)

It’s amusing how Apollo and Hermes complain about having zero game bc in Lucian’s Dialogues it’s mentioned that Eros never bothers the muses with his arrows which doesn’t really make sense bc in other sources they were Apollo’s lovers and had other lovers beside him. Weird.

Aglaia and Aphrodite being married to Hephaestus at the same time is probably a translation error, like every time I read a bit of the Dionysiaca it calls Zeus’s affairs “marriages”. It’s interesting how it’s pointed out that they are kept separate and that’s why they don’t mind each other, like in Ancient Greece married women were expected to accept their husbands affairs but maybe even then there are still boundaries that shouldn’t be crossed like not sleeping with your lover in your house and marital bed bc wtf Aphrodite even Zeus doesn’t have the audacity.

Also Apollo being friendly to Hephaestus and then talking smack behind his back really sucks. I like to think that Hephaestus is hygienic normally but bc he’s always getting commissions from the Olympians (seriously he makes literally everything for them) he’s always at the forge and stops taking care of himself.

OMG THE NEW FIC! It was so hot but almost hard to watch that man be so harsh with the reader. He enjoys punishing her but I think he enjoys loving on her more. She even said that he usually looks at her tenderly. He probably fears losing her as much as he doesn’t want to be exposed for his crimes. I do feel bad for the reader though because she’s stuck in a constant state of unease with these men that only worry about her in relation to their boss.

I would love to know how he would make her bleed if she ran again. And does our man give a little bit of aftercare once the other men leave? I need to know that he’s soothing her somehow even though she broke out.

Lmaoo I'm glad you liked this one so much bc it's definitely a little meaner than I normally write 😭 and it can be read as a stand-alone or a follow up to the second fic I wrote but yes it's implied he's not normally so cold with her but considering the severity of how far she almost got he's "rightfully" angry and scared. Of course the reader doesn't know but he's scared to lose her too, not just to be found out.

This made me so happy bc I love werewolves ever since I was a kid YAYYY!

I also personally like those werewolves who look like wolves (more like anthropomorphic), you know, have tails and don't have any human features (there's so many werewolf designs). Because that is a real werewolf to me :].

Okay, I love this so much, lemme hyperfixate! This gave me such a good idea that I will write a longer fic on it one day!

Imma explain what I have in mind now! :3

Werewolf AU! 🐾

John is giving me werewolf vibes, so he's the one that was first turned into one. How it happened? Well, he was just doing what he usually does. He was on a mission but got ambushed by an enemy who just happened to have lycanthropy. He got some symptoms a week later and turns out he also got it and became a werewolf. I see him a dark-black coated werewolf (because of his hair), honestly kinda like the black werewolf from "Van Helsing" (2004).

I also think John got more physically stronger, I mean he looks the same just yk got more strength (bro is already strong like just imagine with extra strength). Yk also night vision and everything else.

He didn't want to tell Santino at first because he didn't want to scare him with that. In this AU there's lots of possibilities, like what if they were supposed to hunt werewolves and now this happened? That would make the whole situation even more intense! Then again, Santino noticed that something wasn't right with John. Like... he had even more trouble sleeping than before, was more restless and other side effects.

So, Santino was curious and wanted to help if something was bothering him. And then the whole "I got turned into a werewolf" talk happened. "Please don't be scared or mad at me l-" but Santino literally can't be scared or mad at him. And he's the only person who isn't scared of him, honestly. "I don't mind it. You're still the same in my eyes."

Santino accepted it. And he was really curious actually. Like... his werewolf form, he really wanted to see it. And once he did... yeah. Oh yeah >:]. Sorry if I sound weird, ummm monster sexy time isn't for everyone I understand 😭. Santino is a freak, okay lmaoo!

It didn't took long for Santino wanting to become one, too. If his lover is going to be a werewolf and suffer some side effects as one, he is going to do it. One more thing I think comes with changing into a werewolf. Muscle cramps after turning back to human. C'mon, that has to hurt! So, I like to imagine Santino massaging him, his legs, his shoulders, his back, anything that hurt. And back rubs when John struggles to sleep or has some side effects.

John was a bit worried about turning him into a werewolf. It can be really exhausting and and painful at times. But, Santino insisted. And John can't go against him. On the bed, pinned down, John bit into his shoulder enough for his fangs to sink into his skin and let the blood flow. It wasn't a big bite because he didn't want to hurt him too much. Santino did wince and whimper when it happened but he was glad John did it. Now he can be like him.

It left a little scar, just like it did to John (however I think he has a bigger scar because it didn't happen willingly). And of course, the side effects started happen after some time, John told him it was all normal and kept comforting him through it. His first transformation, John was there for him of course. Comforting him like always. I see him a brown coated werewolf, like his hair color yk. Maybe a bit more curly near head.

Ahh he would be such a cute werewolf. Not as big as John, and not as strong as him but still gets all the advantages of being a werewolf. A cutie, like imagine him wagging his tail when John praises him and pets his head AAWW!

It takes some time for him to get used to this new ability, like especially with his tail, "Why is my tail wagging??" And John is like, "That's because you're happy, love." Absolute cuties :3

When they're both in werewolf forms, I kinda think they would snuggle and, like how dogs snuggle each other, rubs heads together and nip on each others ears and that. Just be cute together.

Do they get freaky- yes. 💀😭

Considering how curious and kinky they both are (*coughs* Santino especially *coughs*) um... yeah. They definitely did it like that. :>

But they really just support and comfort each other. If someone wants to hunt them down after finding out they both became werewolves... they are ready for a fight against whoever wants to hurt them.

okay so, the mate is the 'gourd', right, which you'll fill with yerba (the 'leaves'), and then you pour the hot water in there; but since its filled with yerba one mate isnt like a full cup of water, its just a few sips. well, depending on the size of the mate ofc and the one leo generally uses is pretty big but still; 200 mates isnt as much as you might think, like its not like 200 cups of tea since each mate is just a few sips, you can drink, idk i don't know math but like you can totally drink several mates a minute if you feel like it like it really isnt that much. okay honestly i don't count my mates in terms of how many i have a day bc i couldn't keep track i count the liters of water i use

personally i refill my thermos once or twice a day, so i'll drink between one and three liters of mate total a day, and i think thats a pretty normal amount in general. since the average person needs to drink about three liters of water a day anyway, no, its not that much, and it won't (i love this question) make the players pee an unnormal amount, either. if anything this is a normal amount of hydration and as athletes they probably need to drink a lot more water too. anyway my point is; i can't do maths but i think the average is a couple liters of mate a day

okay so here’s some info about everyone’s favorite moron dad!!

ewan grew up in glasgow, scotland (scotland foreverrrrr) with his parents duncan and flora, and his three siblings ( will possibly put up a wc connection for them at some point, but i’m not 100% sure yet lmaoo )

his dad was born in edinburgh and his mother was born in france - so he went to hogwarts and she went to beauxbatons until she was fourteen and moved to england and started attending hogwarts. which is where his parents met.

ewan is the oldest of four children and probably the most immature lmaoooo.

ewan has had a love for flying ever since his father bought him and his sibling’s training brooms when they were all of age.

he’s always been a troublemaker - leading his siblings in causing chaos in the house and then at hogwarts when they all went.

ewan was so happy when he got his hogwarts letter, he was the first of his siblings to show magic, obvs bc he’s the oldest lmaooo, but he was excited to finally see the place his parents told them all stories about.

ewan was sorted into gryffindor without the hat even having to touch his head - which he was happy abt bc it was the same house as his dad.

ewan was instantly a troublemaker, getting into trouble on his first day of classes - but he wasn’t always bad, just in the classes he didn’t like.

when he was in his third year, ewan tried out for the quidditch team and was accepted as their chaser, which he loved. while he was there, gryffindor hardly lost a match. in his fifth year, he became captain and kept up that until he left hogwarts.

he was a bit of a clown, but he still managed to do really well in his studies, except for herbology, this man could kill a plant by looking at it.

ewan never saw himself doing anything but quidditch, so he was a professional quidditch player until he suffered a really bad accident that made him unable to play quidditch anymore ( he was hit in the back with a bludger and fell from his broom ) - played for puddlemore, where he stayed on as a coach after his accident.

ewan married his childhood sweetheart, maddie and they started to build up their family. ewan was gifted a manor by his grandparents and that’s where they raised their children.

he and his wife have seven kids, marina, abi, esther, cleo, felicity, marlene and oliver.

his parents died not long after he was married, his mother caught dragon pox and his father followed not long after her.

ewan continued to coach at puddlemore right up until before his death, he loved his job and he loved seeing people get to their greatest potential with quidditch,

he tried to get his kids interested in quidditch, but he may or may not have dropped marlene off of a broom when she was a kid. he will not confirm that it actually happened.

life was normal for the mckinnons until marlene came back to the house - telling them that she needed to go into hiding and they spent their last night as a family, minus oliver who wasn’t anywhere to be found.

the moment that door opened, his world came crashing down. he watched as his children and wife fell one by one, the chaos erupting in their once happy home.

ewan fought hard, he wasn’t going to do down without a fight - he did in fact use unforgivables, enraged at the fact that these death eaters would come into his home and hurt his family.

but in the end, his fight wasn’t enough, his children lay dead, as did his wife and it was just him and marlene left.

other than marlene, ewan was the last of the mckinnon family to die - he tried his hardest to protect his family, but they all lay dead in the house that had once been filled with so much laughter.

and with one last flash of green, he fell to the ground, dead.

when ewan first arrived in dc, he had a hard time coming to terms with what happened to him and his family, so he turned to alcohol.

ironically, he found a job in a bar, which allowed him to drink on the job, which in the long run wasn’t the best of ideas.

his drinking problem lasted for two years before he started to find his family, and then he decided that he was going to sober up - if not for himself, but for his family, they didn’t need to see him like this.

ewan hasn’t told his family that he has a drinking problem, he got good at hiding it from people and he still struggles a lot, but is getting better than he once was.

after reuniting with his family, he had the opportunity to take over the bar that he worked in, the owner was retiring and had no family, so he left it to ewan, who in turn took it over with marlene, his daughter.

life has mostly been peaceful for ewan, except for the odd occurrence that this city likes to throw out to keep people on their toes.

ewan was killed by a monster during the gala in the white house, he died protecting his wife.

ewan is completely unaware that he has a family, he just thinks that the vice president senator from ny is v pretty and they went on a date where they both tried to kill each other lmao.

so i tend to be highly critical of my writing (lbr who isn’t) and tend to not like anything i write until i’m towards the end — i think it’s like, idk nonsense perfectionism on my part but!!! i will say publishing on tumblr helped me be less critical and more accepting of my own style, so even if i don’t like something initially, once i’m done with a piece i’m v proud of it (i don’t publish anything that i don’t like… which is why it takes me forever lmaoo) also seeing ppl be entertained by my writing is always a surprise for me idk why but a good surprise, yk? (does that make sense? no? ok 😭)

i have adhd so my process is usually all over the place. i commend anyone who has a formula that they stick to; i used to just freewrite and figure shit out along the way, but then sora got me into outlining so i have a little more structure now. and i never really know how long anything is gonna be until i start writing (even with an outline).

sooo depending on the theme/vibes~ of the fic, i will find a prompt or quote(s) that i use as inspo to set the tone (i even go on pinterest too, bc i’m such a visual person) then i write from there. i also listen to music while i write so it helps me keep the flow going. i don’t edit much at the end, i tend to edit as i go bc i can’t help myself (it’s a bad habit honestly and it makes me write slower) but depending on the length of the piece i’ll speed read through it once i’m done and try to catch inconsistencies where i can. sometimes i end up going back to either add/remove certain sentences.
