language acquisition is such a fascinating subject to me. theres a point at which the average human brain just Stops recognizing phonemes outside its native language(s) and just groups it in with a native phoneme.

#cro zone #im wondering if theres any circumstances where that doesnt happen and the brain continues developing phoneme awareness #i wouldnt be surprised if that were a basis for some auditory processing issues in regards to speech #bc due to the variance of tone in casual speech ur brain is receiving like 7 different phonemes that are all meant to be the same one #idk its hard to find research on the subject about anyone other than infants #the only stuff im finding is regarding dyslexia but its about teaching phoneme awareness not studying it
