there had to be a better way to resolve the samantha abduction plot thread than whatever that resolution was. like even ignoring the fact that they stomped all over their own lore, those two episodes were just. not good or satisfying watches at all. a low even for xfiles "plot" episodes (which have a nasty habit of being. dubious)
