#album ranking (tho i love them all so much) is XO > figure 8 > roman candle > either/or > self titled#i dont count from a basement on a hill because it’s posthumous in the same way i dont count sketches for my sweetheart the drunk#as a fully realized album in its own right#i just dont feel comfy doing that#i also feel crazy abt putting self titled in technical last but like 😵💫😵💫#bc XO is functionally a perfect album and it’s emotionally important to me#and figure 8 feels like it has so much momentum#and also has son of sam on it which bumps it hard#and roman candle is just v special it’s a deeply beautiful debut album#and either or is THE elliott smith album like the good will hunting album#so it leaves self titled in last :/#txt
