"Could you at least pretend like you're watching?" Carlos said, gazing at you as you scrolled through your phone.

You clicked the device off and slid it into your pocket.

"I'm sorry Carlos I'm just not really as interested in this as you are..." you paused. "I mean if I want to make it into F1 I gotta train right? I should be on the sim right now."

"C'mon," he groaned. "You're a Sainz, of course you're going to make it. Relax a little. Enjoy the game, please?"

You rubbed your eyes and sighed, "I'll try."

You crossed your arms and watched the game unfold. One of the Barcelona players scored a goal and went sprinting past you into a knee slide. He really caught your eye and you couldn't help but watch him the rest of the match.

Like a Hinge, Like a Wing by @bonesbuckleup i’ll always be reccing this one; it’s one of my favorite slow-burn hurt/comfort fics, and the tim & jason relationship in this context is very sweet + compelling as they deal with some rough edges unique to this story.

1-800-ROBIN by spqr jason volunteers for a mental health hotline, and this leads to bonding with tim. this has some incredibly tender moments and a great robin!jason pov.   red hood!jason era

cake is a four letter word by @sonosvegliato jason just wants to make a loaf of bread. then tim shows up. i love when a writer nails tim in peak Annoying Mode (❤️).

geolocation by @envysparkler i love a good forced-to-work-together oneshot, and this one gets bonus points for the sheer amount of “actions speak louder than words” going on with every single thing jason does.

the trolley problem by @silk-scarlet-ribbons this is—i say with full appreciation—an absolute pangfest. jason is taken by an enemy, and that enemy has kidnapped a "random civilian" (you guessed it: tim) for leverage to get jason to do what they want. (also check out requiem for the forsaken by the same author, which is the fic that finally got my best friend to start caring about robins with me.)

Short-Term Memory Loss (Leads to Long-Term Sibling) by Vamillepudding a bittersweet + hopeful story in which red hood!jason gets temporarily whammed back to robin!jason, and bonds with tim.

Say Uncle by @megaerakles an incredibly fun twist on tim’s fake uncle with layers upon layers of identity shenanigans.

of crime lords and literature by @adelfie a wonderfully angsty, plotty fic in which tim ends up in danger as himself, and—after a very rocky start—jason is somehow the one who rescues him.

Peeta as the smallest of 3 brothers definitely had to resort to dirty plays like biting in his youth.

First off, you're right and you should say it. Second off, Peeta being the youngest is 1000% a dynamic in his relationship with Katniss once they start to recover.

No bc listen. I was the youngest of three siblings and while we never got into physical fights I learned QUICK how to use my mouth to win what battles couldn't be fought physically because my siblings would 100% go to jail for trying to rock a 3 y/os shit. So Peeta was running his mouth religiously around the household. Can't tell me otherwise. "If it weren't for the baby??" Girl, he was biting AND flappin his lips. 100% would get pinned to the ground by his brothers and be like "wow I feel bad for your girlfriend" before getting his shit rocked. He'll offer them tips inbetween punches. "Aim for the throat. Wow, you're still pathetic."

Second, Katniss is the eldest, Peeta is the youngest in their families. Once they're more secure in their relationship, Peeta is 100% causing fun! problems 24/7. She's stressed the fuck out she's gonna come home one day from hunting again and half the house is repainted with all of the furniture just shoved into one big pile away from the drying walls like "WHY DID YOU DO THIS??" "bored :))" because he's so dangerously intelligent, I'm thoroughly convinced he's a practical fucking moron. He probably had to create his own entertainment as a child, he's used to being ignored. If he gets an idea to rearrange the furniture, he just does it. Katniss and Haymitch both have to intervene with how much this happens because Katniss complained about it to Effie once, and Effie started rambling about this thing called "feng-shui," and now Peeta is completely obsessed and will spend several hours to the point of obsession planning with Effie not just his decor, but literally fucking everyones, and Katniss tried to warn Haymitch "Hey, we need to fucking stop this," and Haymitch just said "get out of my house." But now Haymitch is too sober to deal with the constantly changing furniture, and why is this idiot painting his ceiling, and can you please pick up a hobby that doesn't involve majorly changing the layout of our houses? Peeta says no. Katniss instead comes home to Peeta having several geese chasing him at Haymitchs training. He's been waiting for an excuse to reveal this.

She stops feeling bad for needing his constant comfort once he starts biting her out of boredom. Oh, come on. You can see it. He would absolutely look at her arm one night and go "you look nice :))" before taking a giant fucking bite that makes her question every decision she made from age 16-18. There's a solid minute where they just sit in their bed at a standstill. She's holding her book in shock, he's just frozen still biting her. She says "What the fuck" he says "nostalgia :))" to which she's further confused and slightly terrified. She learns how to duck. He learns how to lure her in easier. Post-canon angst + comfort is cute, give me chaotic Peeta torturing his wife who just wants five minutes of peace but secretly adores her dangerously clever idiot of a husband

Imagine when they have kids. That woman is gonna go from "peetas baby!" To "your child."

He likes tossing the motherfuckers in the air. He's the kinda dad who will take off RUNNING with the shopping cart, shove the thing as far away as he can and just wave "bye bye! :))" to the baby inside of the cart that's laughing wildly while Katniss is just chasing this fucking thing down through the store like it's the quarter quell all over again and everyone else is just watching like "Jesus Christ he's doing it again." It gets worse when Peeta collaborates his children with the attacking geese to use against Haymitch when he tries to prevent him from repainting his ceiling again.

I haven't even started Leah's romance route yet but I've already got their entire relationship and dynamic mapped out in my head.

Rambling into the void, but my female farmer OC, Mili, is basically a female himbo. I'd like to think that she doesn't really get all the passive aggressive jabs Leah makes to the farmer in the beginning of the game, and it makes Leah feel kinda bad abt it later on. As they grow more familiar with each other, I'd believe Mili's tenacious attitude eventually wears down Leah's defensive walls and she starts to grow fond of Mili and her lil' antics (much to Leah's own horror).

And since Mili is kinda airheaded but kind, she's easy to take advantage of, even if others don't exactly have any ill intentions. This would start to annoy Leah as she sees Mili running around helping everyone and their dog around town, and she starts to get kinda overprotective of Mili, and chastises her for never being able to say no to anyone (both farmer siblings are like this tbh). I kinda headcanon that Leah hates Scott bc 1. She's lowkey jealous that Mili and Scott hang out a lot in the mines (but she can't bring herself to go to there herself, its gross and dirty and also there's no reception) but mainly bc 2. She thinks Scott is absolutely full of shit with his museum that exists purely due to all the donations Mili makes to it, but he essentially takes all the credit for. Mili disagrees, but regardless, Leah and Scott don't get along.

After they start dating, Leah becomes an overprotective but proud gf who loves showing Mili off to her followers. The only thing is that she despairs over Mili's lack of fashion sense, esp since Mili's older sibling, Lu-Ran, is perfectly well-dressed themselves. So it becomes her hobby to dress Mili up in cute but practical clothes.

On Mili's end, she's just a simple girl with simple thoughts. Leah is a drop-dead gorgeous gf with a heart of gold (according to Mili, disagreed with by many others). She doesn't really get all the influencer stuff but she's supportive and likes to chat with Leah's followers on livestreams. She doesn't know that Leah's followers have basically formed a Mili Fan Club/Protection Squad.

I also like to think that Leah is a lifestyle influencer and environmental advocate. She donates the money made during livestreams and sponsorships towards environmental research and causes. My headcanon is that she's one of Ling's main sponsor (anonymous of course) for her coral research.

Overall, I'm a big fan of "opposites attract" tropes, so I am obsessed with my OC Mili and seeing how the relationship dynamic with Leah would work out. Mili would help Leah become more emotionally vulnerable and be less rigid, while Leah would be a solid rock in Mili's chaotic life who helps keep her grounded and remind her to take care of herself and not just others. Leah is a bit antisocial though, despite being an influencer, so being together with the social butterfly that Mili is would be quite interesting. With Mili as the bridge, Leah would eventually open up to other villagers too and become friends with Mili's friends too (other than Scott of course). From the get-go, Leah would get along very well with Mili's older sibling (my other farmer OC), Lu-Ran, as they're very down-to-earth, quiet and acceptably-dressed (to Leah's standards).

My name is Cassian but I also accept Viscera as a nickname. My pronouns are he/him and I am rapidly approaching year 22 on this earth.

I have been writing since I was 8, so about 14 years now, but am still constantly evolving and learning and developing my skills - like any artist!

I've written primarily fanfiction for most of my life, but I have MANY ocs and original wips and I think 2025 is the year of finally focusing on them!

For original fiction, I write primarily fantasy, modern with magic, or hidden fantasy settings. I'm also discovering my love for writing erotica and filthy nasty sex, so that's ... what a lot of my wips feature or center around nowadays!

Gale meeting John's family drabble bcs I'm obsessed with his family dynamic

Gale nervously wrung his hands together in the passenger seat of John's truck, only really looking up from the road when John would point to some obnoxious billboard or a funny looking bird. Gale would smile and nod, reply with a dry quip, and fall silent again. He usually wasn't like this.

John had told Gale that his mother invited them up to stay at their house for a little bit; wanted to see how they were adjusting to life post war and wanted to meet the notorious Buck Cleven. Gale had worried that John had let slip what they were, much closer than friends, but John assured him that she didn't know.

"She probably wouldn't even care. Poor old bird just wants to see me happy, all things considered," John had said.

And here Gale was, going to meet John's family and put on a good show of pretending to be friends. John mentioned that his mother was still alive, his father passed before he enlisted, and that he had two older sisters.

"Technically El is my twin, but she's fifteen minutes older and won't ever let me forget it. I'm the baby of my family," John says, turning onto a long gravelly drive that must lead to his family's property.

Gale smiles gently at the thought. John with missing teeth and a bright smile with equally bright sisters around him. Doting on him like Gale always did. Gale never had any siblings, lived only with his mother and father, and wished desperately that John's sisters liked him.

They pull in front of a charming ranch house and Gale smiles at how quaint it is. A modest two floor house painted a calming blue with pristine white shutters and a bright yellow door. Gale swallows thickly and his hands find each other again. John leans over into Gale's space, placing a hand on both of Gale's and kissing his cheek sweetly.

"Relax, Gale, they'll love you, I promise," John says.

Gale gives him a strained smile and sighs.

"What if they don't?" Gale worries.

John only smiles, eyes flicking to the sunny yellow door.

"Trust me, they like anything with a pulse. You might just have to be the devil incarnate for them to hate you. Speaking of..." John says, eyes now trained on the door.

It flies open with a whirlwind of brown hair and bright smiles. Two women scramble out to the truck, shouting at John and asking what took him so long. The one with longer hair practically yanks John from the drivers seat and sizes him up.

"Baby Bucky is decorated like a goddamn hero!" She crows and Gale smiles with how similar their cadence of voices were.

"I'm no baby, I'm a major!" John squawks and his sister just laughs, pushing his arm playfully.

"You're still a baby to me!" She hollars.

They both now turn to Gale, the shiny new object that John brought for them to play with.

"You must be Buck!" The other shouts with equal enthusiasm.

Gale had quietly gotten out of the car and was just observing John and his sisters catch up, when their eyes suddenly trained on him. He smiles nervously, afraid of being in the spotlight.

"Major Gale Cleven, ladies," Gale says, extending his hand out for a cordial handshake.

They both bat it away and bring Gale in for a hug anyway. God, they even smell like John did.

"My name's Jess, and that's El," The one with the long hair says, jabbing her thumb into her sister's stomach.

El laughs, shoving Jess away and they get into a playful slap fight that Gale can't help but laugh at.

"Pleasure to meet you both," Gale says, hauling his bag from the back of John's trunk.

El turns around and gives John a look of genuine surprise.

"How did you convince this sweetheart to mingle with the likes of you?" She balks.

John is by Gale's side now and throws his arm around his shoulder, bringing him in closer to his waist.

"Must be my stunning good looks," John beams and Jess almost throws something at him.

They walk into the house and Gale allows himself to take it all in. It's the perfect house for children, Gale thinks; large kitchen with a living room and a large radio on the windowsill. It's wallpapered with soothing colors and warmly lit. Gale genuinely liked the place.

"Gonna bunk with me, Buck?" John asks, wiggling his eyebrows obnoxiously.

El intercepts them before they get to Johns room.

"Nuh uh, you got Buck all afternoon I want to get to know him," El says, grabbing Gale by the arm and attempts to take him down the stairs.

Gale looks back at John and just shrugs his shoulders.

"Duty calls," He says, and John throws him a wink.

Jess and El give him a tour of the house and Gale compliments when necessary, making sure to turn the charm up to eleven. They walk into the kitchen and Gale is immediately hit with the scent of fresh cooked food. There are already dishes waiting on the counter and Gale is dumbfounded.

"Is this all for me?" Gale asks, and he can feel tears welling in his eyes. He had never been this spoiled in his life, not even by his family.

"Ma's even making you a pie! Jesus where is that woman, MA!!" Jess shouts, peeking her out out into the living room.

John's mother is clearly where they got all of their looks from, Gale still hasn't seen a photo of John's father so he can only assume, all of the girls are practically a carbon copy of her. She has pale, green eyes that crinkle with crows feet when she smiles, wavy brown hair laced with grey, and the same smile Gale has seen in all of the Egan children.

"I hope Elise and Jessica aren't giving you a hard time, come here darling," She says, voice quivering with age and arms extended wide.

Gale wraps a careful arm around her and almost cries at the feeling. His mother almost never hugged him like this.

"Pleasure to meet you, Mrs. Egan. I thank you for letting me stay in your home," Gale says.

Mrs. Egan waves him off, pinching Gales cheek and smiling.

"Ah no Mrs. or Mr's around here, call me Anne," She says, and Gale does so with a smile.

The rest of the afternoon before dinner is El and Jess fussing around in the kitchen with their mother and John showing Gale the property. He kisses him every so often and Gale can't help but giggle; hasn't felt this happy in a long time.

"How you liking the family? They can be a bit much," John asks, linking his and Gale's fingers together.

Gale hums, looking up at the sky and smiling wide as ever.

"They're just like you, how could I not like them?" Gale says and John's smile gets instantly brighter.

They sit by the stream they wandered across and John decides to rest his head on Gale's lap. One of Gales hands lazily tangles in John's hair, massaging his scalp and just bathing in John's presence.

"Do your sisters know? About us?" Gale asks.

John shrugs shifting himself so he's looking up at Gale through wind swept curls. Gale smiles and wipes them away from his forehead.

"I guess they suspect. I would always talk to Jess about boys when I was younger and I think El is queer too, ran away with a girl from the Red Cross as soon as she could," John sighs.

Gale feels a weight get lifted off his shoulders, almost. John's sisters seemed too kind to care about such a trivial thing. But Gale wasn't quite ready to show their love to the world yet.

"Can we keep it quiet? Just between us? I want this to be all ours," Gale says.

John hauls himself up from Gale's lap and nuzzles his nose into his cheek, smiling gently at the way Gales lips turn up into a smile.

"Of course, doll. Just you and me," John says, and places a gentle kiss on Gales lips.

Later at dinner, El and Jess make jokes about marrying Gale themselves while John protests, claiming he found Gale first. Gale can do nothing but laugh and laugh, and he finally feels at home.

OF COURSE!! so glad u asked, this headcanon fills me with joy <3

‣ ok so in my mind madoka (yachi's mom) began dating kyoutani's dad while yachi was in middle school and kyoutani was starting high school

‣ and they technically don't get married until their kids have graduated high school, but kyouyachi still refer to each other as step siblings before it's official regardless

‣ yachi was TERRIFIED of kyoutani when she first met him omg. he had his default glare on his face and his hands were stuffed in his pockets and poor little hitoka was just internally panicking the whole time

‣ little did she know that kyoutani was equally as terrified (albeit for a very different reason, he was worried about making a bad impression, scaring off both hitoka & madoka and leaving his dad heartbroken)

‣ however! this nervousness faded when yachi saw kyoutani's phone background (a cute picture of his cute dog) and she, of course, had to show off her own (a silly picture of her silly rabbit) (bc if anyone were to have a pet rabbit it would be yachi)

‣ once they started talking about their pets the conversation flowed easily!

‣ yachi got kyoutani hooked on all her favorite girly kids shows, so now whenever anyone brings up sailor moon or winx club he perks up bc he knows the lore

‣ in return, he imparts all his eyeliner wisdom onto her

‣ yachi has also heard all about how much yahaba pisses kyoutani off and has made countless jokes about how "you talk about him so much you might as well be in love with him lol"

‣ cue kyoutani turning into a blushing wreck of denial and yachi clutching her pearls like a scandalized aristocrat (she teased him relentlessly for months to come)

‣ kyoutani got her back when he properly introduced her to kanoka and realized yachi already had a massive crush on her

‣ additionally, kyoutani has proofread thousands of texts from hitoka to amanai (bc she needs to be double, triple, quadruple sure that it is "the best message to send" and makes her sound "cool" and not like "a desperate loser who wants to kiss amanai on the mouth")

‣ the kyoutani's are more quiet and relaxed compared to the anxious yachi's. kentarou & his dad really mellow out hitoka & her mom

‣ they go thrifting together all. the. TIME! literally one of their favorite pastimes is to try on ridiculous clothes and make up stories about who the previous owner was

‣ when kyoutani got his drivers license he automatically became yachi's chauffeur. his car also became "their" car as she began to leave some of her things in there and add her own hitoka flair (ie. a crochet bumblebee hanging from the front mirror)

‣ speaking of crochet!! yachi is such a crafty girl and she 100% crochets a bunch of things for kyoutani. namely she crochets little accessories and clothing items for his dog :)

Ya'll... I just watched the new Sonic movie (Sonic 3) and I have to say... I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Me ranting about it after the cut!!

SONIC 3 SPOILERS!!

1) Okay, so, first of all. The movie was amazing. I felt so giddy and excited when I was sitting in the movie theate, just waiting for the next thing to happen.

2) I had to hold back my tears when Tom got brutally punched by Shadow, mainly at hoe Sonic reacted at that... poor boy thought he lost another parent:( I didn't want to cry in front of of my brothers. (They would've bullied me bc they always do)

2) Maria was sososososo pretty!!! I really wished that we could've seen more of the sibling dynamic between her and Shadow, but I honestly loved the relationship they had.

4) My boy Tails should've had more screen time though...💔 Along with knuckles...💔 (I understand they already had enough going on in the movie, and I think if they did what I wanted, it probably would've made the movie uncomfortably cramped)

5) TAILS LOOKED SO CUTE WITH THE HELMET ON IN THE HELECOPTER ATVTHE BEGINNING OMG⁉️⁉️⁉️⁉️ I mentally agreed with Agent Stone when he said Tails was adorable, because he is.

6) Honestly, kinda wished Stone and Tails built up a friendship between them. Would've been fun to see them interact more! (Again, same thing I said earlier in nr.4)

7) I actually thought about this before seeing the movie. If I remembered correctly, the movie is based of Sonic adventure 2 (I believe) And Amy Rose was the one who comforted Shadow and got him to turn from evil to good? (I THINK. I SAW A PLAY THROUGH LIKE 10 YEARS AGO, DON'T YELL AT ME😭) So, I wondered how the would go about this. Honestly, the fact that Sonic comforted Shadow was a little odd to me, but what Sonic said was sweet. Since this is the movies we're talking about, it's on brand that Sonic was comforting him, since basically every single live action Sonic movie has him comforting SOMEBODY. Honestly, I liked it.

8) And... THE WAY MR. OLD REBOTNIC (can't remember name💔) GOT KILLED!?!?!? WHAT!?!? YOU'RE TELLING ME HE FOT STABBED IN THE BUTT BY A SUPER POWERED ALIEN HEDGEHOG QUIL, GOT LUNCHED UP, AND GOT INCINERATED BY A DAMN SHEILD!?!? Woah. Imagine telling other people how you died and someone says THIS to you??? My one brother quite literally looked at me like this when that happened: "😧" (my other brother laughed his arse off)

9) And the final message Robotnic gave Stone?? Omg, you can NOT tell me they didn't have SOMETHING going on over there....

10) Finally, the end credit scene... METAL SONIC AND AMY???? ARAGARAGATSGA!!!! Sigh, Why must I wait for the 4th movie to come out... 😔 (PLEASE GIVE REVERSE SONAMY IN THE NEW MOVJE OLEASE PLEASE PLEAS PLEASE PLEA) Also, when Amy revealed herself a little boy (who had a Sonic CAPE mind you) yelled out "IT'S AMY!!!" He might be a bigger fan then me chat... (I forgot my Tails plush 😔)

11) Fun mini fact about me, I'm not much of a Shadow fan (Don't come at me) so I've never been too interested in him. However, the movie got me much more interested in him, and Shadow is now up there with the others. (Also made me feel much more for the poor boy :<)

12) Overall, the movie was literally the best one I have seen in a WHILE. Even though the movie had a lot going on, I still felt immersed in the story the whole way through. Character development was was amazing, Sonic crashing out was SO COOL??? Tails and Knuckles trying to stop him was just as amazing. Tails looking like a scared kid while Sonic and Knuckles were disagreeing tugged SO HARD onto my heart strings💔 I really recommend the movie, it was a great watch. I do however recommend watching the first two movies before watching the third one.

I might but it would be far in the future when I'd have the chance, and I'd worry about it being repetitive of Rock Sibblings.

I don't think Broppy would happen in Classical Branch. In Rock Sibblings I don't plan to feature any ships because I want the focus to be on Barb and Branch. There may be hints to the pairing I personally would like to see happen but they'll be vague and can be seen as a platonic bond.

So I personally think Dante was asked by Trollzart to tutor Branch to get him caught up on the curriculum and help him learn how to communicate the classical way. I think similar to in Trollstopia, Dante gets a little obsessed with Branch as a muse (which I always saw as sort of a crush).

Minuet I think he met in school and they were partnered together a few times. I think Minuet saw Branch's hobbies as new talents to master and she asked him to teach her. Dante was less receptive to actually doing them, but he did come around!

Branch initially thought both of them would be sort of snobbish about his hobbies and general 'I'm fine being in the dirt' attitude, and was VERY surprised by how open-minded they were.

Branch and Minuet in school end up as the best pair of dancers, Branch is especially fascinating to watch because rather than altitude and wing tempo, he has to move his legs.

Dante and Branch are the only two with perfect scores in fine dining, specifically in cutlery etiquette. ("It's very obviously the fish knife. The cheese knife looks NOTHING like a fish knife, really the notion is laughable.") Branch canonically ranked silverware in Trollstopia, you think he doesn't eat up dining etiquette? (Pun intended)

Branch starts using some of the sayings Dante says. "Chicanery up his blousy sleeve" absolutely catches on to Branch. He also, like Dante, will add 'as they say' to sayings. ("You do you, as they say")

He also helps Dante with Dante's issues over validation, teaching him how to accept if one person or even NO ONE likes what he makes. Branch is used to no one liking anything he does, so it comes easy to him. Meanwhile Dante is a little worried by the fact Branch goes into anything under the impression no one will like it, but impressed that he manages to create even with that belief.

Branch has trouble believing both Dante and Minuet are his actual friends, as Dante was hired to tutor him and Minuet is a school partner/interested in his skills. It takes time for him to accept they're his ACTUAL friends.

It appears that I've become the most annoying person right after watching Bridgerton Season 2 bc now I'm obsessed with anything that is Kanthony.

In other news, House of Ashes x Bridgerton crossover...... In which the Marines are the Bridgerton family and the Othmans will mirror the Sharmas storyline of season 2.

Ofc Jason will be taking Anthony's place as the viscount trying to marry out of duty rather than love, and Salim will mirror Kate as his constant foil. That unfortunately leaves Zain to take Edwinas place as the one Jason will initially go after which makes me cringe just thinking about it (Zain will be Salims son rather than his sibling, and that dynamic would make things even weirder unfortunately) 😭

I do wanna tweak the story a bit so it's more specific to Jalim rather than being copy paste of the Kanthony storyline, but one thing for certain is that Jason gets to wear suits and Salim gets to be in pretty dresses !!

Also, Kanthony in HoA where they get to team up and kill vampires together.... Very hot.

kenta+miku: I like how they're the two dummies of the genius team. it was funny when miku briefly thought she had a crush on shun but he ditched her for kenta. their relationship is cute as is but the more you read into gay stuff happening the more charming I find it

tatsuya+yuuri: genuinely very cute and charming relationship. I love how he's sincere and friendly and she's locked down like fort knox so you really feel the intimacy when he finally manages to get her walls down

so it is a terrible horrible crime the way fandom sleeps on these three. it's like royal trio all over again but so, so much worse because there's even less moonlight trio out there and the canon dynamic is even more full of potential if I am being honest. like sumire and akechi don't even really interact but ryoji and aegis DO and the shit we get is so GOOD but everyone is like. meh. and it's like. i am going NUTS ok!!

and i know that the fandom could see this potential because everyone ships ryomina and femc x aegis. femc x aegis is gay i get that but aegis x minato is also very good i will die on this hill.

(and moonlight trio i am sure is also very good with femc, i just haven't played p3p yet so i can't speak on it personally. but like, you can ship the trio with femc if you prefer femc with aegis bc femc and ryoji also have a Thing going on.)

instead we get this stupid split down the middle where minato gets ryoji and femc gets aegis bc everyone is allergic to straight ships and no one gives a shit about aegis x ryoji which is a fucking CRIME. and now i am going to stop complaining and sell you on these three.

ryomina is already pretty popular (and the appeal is very obvious, if you don't think they're gay for each other you didn't pay attention to the game) so i'm not gonna spend too much time on them. minato and aegis's relationship is already mostly on screen, he's who gives her life purpose as i'm sure you know, but to me their relationship really truly shines when it's all three of them, which i'll get to in a sec.

but ok first let's talk about aegis x ryoji. because oh my god. aegis is programmed to see ryoji as the enemy, it's like, her very first and primary order she was given, to destroy him. but she fails to do this, she fails her prime directive, she fails her purpose as a being. and this is what gives her the existential crisis that ends with her awakening to athena and developing a human heart. because she realizes through her failure to defeat ryoji, and from the time she spent with ryoji the person instead of Death her enemy, that her life is more than just her programming. and that ryoji isn't just her enemy, he's her friend. ryoji is the reason aegis becomes human.

ryoji and aegis both have Issues with feeling inhuman and unlovable. minato also feels inhuman and is a monsterfucker who is into that shit. (both thanatos and the robot.) ryoji and aegis find love with minato and should also find love with each other because they have this familiarity of being Other and Outside humanity. minato also feels Other because Depresso and it helps him connect to both of them but the two of them really experience it in a way minato doesn't.

both ryoji and aegis have an almost unhealthy attachment to minato as the person who gave their life meaning. i'm really into codependency so this is great for me.

i am obsessed with the contrast of "aegis falls in love with ryoji despite her programming which told her he was the enemy, and falls in love with minato first because her programming told her he must be protected, but that programming blossomed into something genuine and real beyond that." it's just so fucking good okay.

Continuation from this post (that one has the initial Modern/College/Band AU idea, along w/ some lore bits for Seraï and Teaks)! (I've also gone more in on the idea of Band AU here!

Note: All this stuff will be the background for Bound for Greatness, while the fics are mainly about the Solstice Crew in college. Not that I'm not gonna write kid fic of them growing up, bc having the group finally have some *healthy* family dynamics is very appealing; but damn it, Bound for Greatness was supposed to be just smut. *sighs*

This one is gonna be for Zale, as I realized I only posted some of his background via a writing meme. Ooops!

Also, for this AU, scale up the islands to allow for larger populations (so think of each island as their own country w/ enough land mass to support many cities/towns).

So, Zale was born a preemie, to Haris and Yeon'a; this is similar to my worldbuilding for An Honor, where he's supposed to be born after the Solstice. In that verse, Resh'an is the one that stabilizes him on the way to Mooncradle, while he goes into a NICU in the Modern AU. (In game premies are stabilized by magic/hand wavy science/alchemy; all of Resh'an's delivery Great Eagle Puppets are "programmed" to do this, Game!Zale is the only one to get hands-on treatment, and that makes him healthier than ModernAU!Zale is).

He gets sick frequently, on up to his early tweens (so about the time he hits end of elementary to beginning of middle school, he's almost average for any kid his age). His family made the move to Mooncradle from Brisk when he was 4-ish, to be close to a hospital that could help him (right after the move he gains a baby sister). His parents and his big sister are extremely protective of him, tho Haris does back off a bit when Zale pushes back.

Zale meets Garl and Valere in kindergarten, and they become inseparable. It's here that Zale gets his "signature" haircut, much to the dismay of the teacher (they had safety scissors, but not the full plastic ones that won't cut hair). No matter what the parents/guardians do, Zale always finds a way to cut his hair the way he wants. Eventually Yeon'a gives up trying to stop him, and buys some clippers and tries to keep it neat, if nothing else (Haris finds it hilarious, but keeps that to himself).

Academically, Zale is a gifted student, and doesn't really exert much effort into his classes (this will bite him in the ass come college). But he gets really into sports (and into his mom's hobby of hitting people w/ historical weaponry) once he hits middle school, and ends up on his school's soccer team. He also joins his mom's historical martial arts organization, and learns how to hit things w/ a sword (I had to...)

By middle school, Valere has become obsessed w/ rock bands, and the Trio manage to convince their families to let them take classes. Zale immediately goes for a guitar (mostly bc he fell in love with the design of one), Garl takes up bass, and Valere drums. They get together at Garl's (he has the largest garage to set up in, and his Gran had helped to soundproof a part of it for their practices).

Haris goes to Zale's defense a lot, and is his son's major supporter when Zale first goes into sports, then into Yeon'a's historical martial arts hobby.

Zale has 4 siblings:

Yu'mi; older sister, by 3 years. Works in Haris' business/store after she graduates college (basic degree); has her own section where she sells plushies that she designs and sells, along w/ shirts and other stationary. Briefly tried out Yeon’a and Zale’s hobby of hitting people with swords, but didn’t really care for it as much (she finds it fun, and a good workout. She actually gravitated to a staff more, and had fun “sparring” with Valere when she joined. (Valere had a huge crush on Yu’mi for a while).

Alexia; younger sister, by 4 years. Zale’s favorite sister. They get up to trouble all the time and love to prank Yu’mi. The only other member of the family that goes hard w/ the “hit people w/ swords” hobby. She has won many awards at tournaments, and wants to go into history w/ an eye at the long distant wars that Mooncradle had been part of.

Fotis and Jeong; twin little brothers, by 9 years. Fotis is the calm one, Jeong is the hot head. They idolize Zale, and he’s the only one that can wrangle them once they’ve got an idea into their heads. Their plan is to take over Haris' store when they get older.

Zale is the best big brother! Eats his little sister Alexia's disasters of meals and tells her everything is delicious. Helps his little brothers, Jeong and Fotis, plan and implement their money making schemes (ie lemonade stands; this eventually comes into conflict when Mirna comes on the scene and sets up a rival stand).

Insanely Long Family Lore under the cut (no really, it's stupidly long bc Elder!Zale and his family demanded Lore):

Zale is named after his great-grandpa Zale. Elder!Zale lived in a small town on the outskirts of Brisk, but ended up leaving for Brisk after he was unfairly divorced by his wife (no name, just Bitch) and lost custody of his daughter (Thalia). Elder!Zale moved in with his childhood best-friend, Terrance (who still had a massive crush on Elder!Zale).

They start a business together, and eventually one of their employees asks Elder!Zale about an upcoming, romantic holiday and, “What are you and your husband planning for it? :3c” (of course the two were absolutely acting like a couple, and of course all the people around them assumed). Cue flailing that is also misunderstood as cute absentmindedness, and after a long bit of soul searching, Elder!Zale finds that he likes the idea of being with Terrance. Romance-Comedy shenanigans ensue w/ them getting married in the end).

Grandma Thalia had Haris as a teen herself (at 15), and was kicked out of her home by Bitch bc of it. Elder!Zale took her in, though Thalia still blamed him for the divorce (Bitch twisted everything into it all being Elder!Zale's fault, mostly bc she suspected him of cheating on her w/ Terrance (he never did). Truthfully, Bitch was the one who cheated, and divorced so she could marry her lover). Elder!Zale did his best, but Thalia had internalized a lot of Bitch and Bitch Husband's bigotry, and she left as soon as she could support herself.

Grandma Thalia eventually married a rich man when Haris was 6 (after a lot of shit boyfriends), and had 2 more kids (boy and girl; not twins, but within the same year). Husband was good to Haris until his kids were born, then started treating Haris like shit (not violent abusive, but definitely prioritized his kids and could be verbally abusive (very much using Haris as the scapegoat of the family)). Thalia was willfully oblivious to it, even unconsciously mimicked it, and the siblings picked up on it and did the same. Husband made some bad calls and nearly drove the family into bankruptcy (this is about when Haris is 10-ish), and Thalia had to bite her tongue to ask Elder!Zale for help bc husband’s family refused to. Elder!Zale and Terrance pulled the family out of their hole, and were allowed to see the grandkids since then (permission given by husband, for once arguing against Thalia that they should be grateful).

Since Elder!Zale was given a chance to be part of Haris’ life, when Haris hit high school, Elder!Zale knew that Haris’ home life wasn’t the best and managed to convince Haris’ mom to let Haris spend vacations with him. Terrance was a big role model for Haris, teaching him a lot about art. He’s the reason why Haris was so fascinated w/ pottery and carving. This all led to Haris and Yeon’a to trust Elder!Zale and Terrance w/ the info that she was pregnant before anyone else.

Yeon'a lost her family at 7 years old in a car accident, and moves in w/ her Uncle Han'mo. Yeon'a got along decently w/ her Uncle, but he did not really understand how to raise a kid and was kinda a flake. He was mostly hands off for much of Yeon’a’s life. Uncle was upset that Yeon’a got pregnant and tried to convince her to abort (was trying to think of her future, not wanting her to be derailed w/ a kid; after Yu'mi was born, he tried to convince Yeon'a to put Yu'mi up for adoption). When Yeon’a eloped w/ Haris and immediately left for Brisk, Uncle was upset that Yeon’a left without any word (his insistence at aborting/giving up her baby made Yeon’a angry and not trust him). They eventually make amends after Alexia is born, and he tries to be the “cool” Great-Uncle when he visits (mostly by money/buying gifts for the kids).

Yeon'a and Haris were teen sweethearts, and ended up pregnant with Haris at 18 and Yeon'a at 17. After Yu'mi was born, they waited until Yeon'a graduated, then eloped and left their small town to move to Brisk. Elder!Zale and Terrance offered to let them stay them, giving them jobs at their business (own a small grocery store), and the two Great-Grandpas help out w/ babysitting. There, the two kids work on their degrees, Haris in marketing/business, while Yeon'a gets her MLIS. By the time that they graduate and both get decent jobs that let them move out, Yeon'a is pregnant w/ Zale.

When Zale is born prematurely, they move back in w/ Great-Grandpas. After Zale is released from the NICU, and for about the next four years, there are a bunch of health scares that eventually force the family to look for better hospitals/specialists. They learn that Mooncradle has the best doctors/aid, and set about moving to that city. Haris convinces his job to let him work remotely, and Yeon'a manages to land a job at a library close to where they're gonna live (a decent, if a bit run down, rental house). After they've finished moving, Youn'a is preggers again, and has a baby girl named Alexia.

GreatGrandpa!Zale and Terrance finally retire, selling their store and moving out to live with the family in Mooncradle; again they help out a lot w/ babysitting and other living costs. As such, the family's quality of life goes up a lot, as it's both a cheaper cost of living in Mooncradle, and with Great-Grandpas there to lend a hand. When Haris and Yeona manage to save enough to buy a house, the Great-Grandpas co-sign on a mortgage to help make payments, and they end up close enough to a lot of very good schools.

In about another five years, the twins, Fotis and Jeong, are born; Yeon'a has moved up in her field, landing a job as a librarian in a prestigious university in Mooncradle. At about the same time, Haris has decided to switch gears, buying a shop with a storefront, and converted it into a craft center. He always loved doing crafty stuff w/ Terrance, and they both have the time of their lives setting up the place. The shop sells various trinkets they make; trinkets carved from stone, wood and crystal, as well as pottery Haris and Terrance throw. Connected to the shop is a large studio w/ pottery wheels and kilns, and they rent out the space for local artists and classes (they give lessons whenever they can, but others also teach in the space).

As a child, Zale used to yell, “It ME!” when he saw Elder!Zale, and Elder!Zale would do the same. Youn'a gets thoroughly tired of it, while the namesakes (and Haris) find it hilarious. Zale grows out of it a bit (the childish effect of wanting to be seen as more mature), but takes it up again late high school and college. The other great-grandbabies all call Elder!Zale, "Papu Zale." Zale calls Terrance Ganpa Ter for much of his childhood (he still does it when he tries to wheedle for something or when he needs to talk or comforting.) The rest just call him Grandpa Terry.

The family doesn’t have much to do with Grandma Thalia or Haris’ siblings. There’s an occasional holiday card, and there was once a family reunion that went horribly wrong and Zale and sibs all refused to go to another.

Yu'mi is engaged to be married by the time Bound for Greatness rolls around, to a very upstanding young man named Gavin. To be Brother-in-law (21) is going to law school, hoping to become an employment/labor lawyer. Gavin eventually shifts and goes into entertainment/ip lawyer due to his brother-in-law’s career choices (it’s a side job for a bit, helping Zale and friends out here and there, then eventually joins B’st’s team of lawyers to help represent Zale and co. for however long they keep the band together). He met the family through the historical martial arts org Yeon’a is in, and met Yu’mi there; he had friendly spars with Zale.
