“Do that again” Rin murmured, keeping his teal irises fixated on yours. Your lips slightly parted as your hand recoiled by mere a graze against his cheeks, as if you were about to get electrocuted at the exposure of his skin but Rin was quick to grab them halfway. He put it back where it was, on his cheeks. “Do that again,” He repeated his plea as he tucked your palm back onto his cheek. “please!” he whispered this time. You pressed your lips together before caressing his cheeks, rubbing your thumb underneath his eye and then moving on to his pulp lips. His eyes are a little puffy and reddish. Had he seriously been crying?

Rin tried to keep up the eye contact with you but the sensation of your warm manicured scented fingertips upon his lips lulled him to close his eyes shut and curl into the cavity of your palm. He turned a little, kissing your palm and then looking at you through the corner of his eyes. It is snowing outside. The world is being painted in white as the dead-cold silence blankets nature, the bare branches, the flowers, the river, and the buildings while Rin's touch wraps around you, like a protective layer. His touch is ice-cold but his eyes seem to tell otherwise. 

This is wrong. This is wrong in so many ways because the last time both of you did something that none of you should. And this time it is happening again. Maybe it will escalate into something more but that still would not change the fact that what you are doing is wrong. To him and to you too. Rin grabbed your other hand pulling you close. He is impatient as always. Now his tongue is swiping inside your mouth while your lips are wrapped around his.

“I never loved you. You were a nice little fuck toy, that’s it.” Rin’s poison-laced voice echoed at the back of your head.

You winced feeling his teeth dig into your skin along the column of your neck. His hands are underneath your top, tracing the bones of your back. “We can't do this”, you exclaim pushing him away, his hot breath still lingering on your face, his arms are still under your top but it has now slewed down to your waist. His grip is intact.

 “Why not?” he asks as if he was not the one to denote first and break the rules. It was not a surprise that he would be the first one to break rules but never in your wildest dreams did you imagine that he would actually end up using the safe word to take a time out from this open relationship and have a talk with you. 

Now he is on the verge of doing something that he might regret later. But that is not the worst part of all these; if he did regret then he would not blame you, he would blame himself and wallow in self-pity. It is something that will eventually come back chasing you, not now but eventually because no tide is created by the sea alone, there is always an eclipse involved.

“Because I don't wanna get hurt” You take a deep breath swallowing your tears at the pit of your stomach. 

“What makes you think I���m gonna hurt you?” Rin is now holding your hands, so tenderly, so cautiously; it is almost as if a baby bird is trying to fly for the first time.

“Because the last time,” You sniffle and bow your face down to hide your tears. “Because last time you said something awful.”  Looking at him again you exhaled thoroughly. “It hurt me.” You added.

There is a tug at the corner of his lips and as you look at him in awe it grows into a smile. “y/n, I have lied to you so many times. Small lies, like how you do when you don’t wanna go out with your friends but spend time with me instead? Saying you are under the weather?” You chuckle at his claim, tears rolling down your cheeks as a deviated outcome of suppressing it back. “I lied. I lied when I said I never loved you. Couldn’t you tell?” He adds and then you two laugh in sync because it is silly.

It is silly because Rin was not your fling, Rin was not even to fit in the sultry label of friends with benefits. He was different somehow. He would not contact you for weeks and then come to your home with snacks and drinks unannounced, talk, and unload himself to lighten himself up. And you? You did the same. There was rarely anything physical but when there was it was so intense that you saw the stars even being laid out on the kitchen counter. It felt vulnerable to be so exposed and at the same time, exhilarating too.

So, what when wrong? What made you hurt so bad and him use the safe word?

A kiss. The answer is a kiss. Because kissing is so intimate yet tempting that Rin thought it would be fun have one rule in this time bomb of open relationship, that is, to not kiss, never on the lips. 

“Can i kiss you?” Rin asks for permission this time. Last time he kissed in a room full of people. It was so scandalous and so hungry, hungry for love. 

You laugh bowing your head down and looking up saying, “You can.”

And then he kissed you. On the lips, softly grazing his on yours, tenderly sucking, fingers interlacing with yours as he pushed you down on the bed. You blink, you pant and you huff as he undressed himself hovering on top of you. There is an awful headache hammering onto your temples but it soon went away as he kissed from up the crook of your neck, to the column, then onto your cleavage, down to your navel. “That is a hell lot of kissing,” you whispered.

“It sure is,” Rin admitted before focusing on your skin again.

★ RIDDLE ROSEHEARTS

He invited you and Grim to the next unbirthday party as the guests of honor. So when he arrives everybody has their eyes on both of you and Riddle approaches to where you're seated and greets you, what he wasn't expecting was you getting out of your seat and greeting him with a kiss on the cheek.

Is flabbergasted pt.1 and he gets as red as a tomato. Inmediately begins screaming "Off with your head" and is only stopped when Ace and Deuce run towards you both and try to explain the situation.

He gets more relaxed now knowing that's just how people back in your world greet eachother, but please, don't do it in front of everyone again, or at least without warning him, Cater took a picture and posted it on magicam and Trey teased him for it. Apparently both of them knew and were eager to see his reaction.

Low-key really embarassed the rest of the unbirthday party, he can't stop thinking about it. Riddle makes a mental reminder to ask more about your culture now, just in case you surprise him out of nowhere again.

Also finds out about the hugging aspect when you two were studying for finals, when you hugged him excitedly when you passed a test thanks to his tutoring. He gets red again, but doesn't do anything to stop you from hugging him. Riddle can get used to it, but he won't probably ask for hugs unless you both are in a relationship, so ask him out already.

★ LEONA KINGSCHOLAR

Leona, for once, decided to eat at the cafeteria since Ruggie was sick that day and couldn't bring him his lunch. He sat alone on one table and nobody dared to approach him because if looks could kill, everbody that dared look at the housewarden would drop dead. That was until you spotted him and went to greet him. The whole cafeteria got dead silent when they saw you giving him a kiss on the cheek. THE Leona Kingschoalr being KISSED by the magicless human.

"Oi herbivore, you're really bold, aren't you? Daring to kiss me in front of everyone?" Leona looked at you with a grin, if it was another person that dared to do it and not you, he wouldn't have let it go, but it was you, so he is going to let it slide. Are you interested in him then?

Disappointed but not surprised when you explain that is a way of greeting people back in your world, but hey, at least he is in a better mood now, so you better sit and eat lunch with him (in silence).

When he overhears a first year Savanaclaw student, that doesn't like Leona, make fun of him, for going "soft", and you, for being "shameless" for that kiss, he's furious. The next day that student had to run an extra kilometer at morning training.

Regarding being hugged a lot, he doesn't mind, but he won't say that. He calls you "bold" and "fearless" for doing it, but doesn't stop you. Ruggie even saw you both asleep in the botanical garden while hugging. Maybe he has developed a soft spot for you after all.

★ AZUL ASHENGROTTO

I know I made headcanons of Azul being chilean, but Yana Toboso hasn't made it canon (smh octavinelle being latino in canon when) so I'll go with how he would react in canon.

Azul invited you to Mostro Lounge to taste the new menu he carefully planned as a way of raising the daily income. He greeted you at the entrance with Floyd and Jade behind him, when you suddenly gave him a kiss on the cheek.

"Shrimpy! I want a kiss on the cheek too! Why is only Azul getting one?"

Flabbergasted pt.2, give him a moment, he needs to sort out his thoughts. What just happened. Did the prefect just kiss him on the cheek out of nowhere? This wasn't part of the plan.

Jade interrupts his thoughts when he starts laughing at him, and Azul goes back to the real world and demands at explanation at you over what you just did.

He is still flustered even after you explain that's just a custom back in your world, but has to compose himself for the sake of the rest of the customers that are staring at him. He won't mention it again the rest of his life, unless you greet him like that the next time. Needless to say, Azul got teased by the tweels after who just wouldn't let it go.

Azul is also very flustered when you hug him out of nowhere when he helps you out with an assigment "on the house". Is this also a custom of your country? It is? Oh, he's a little dissapointed you "don't mean it" in a romantic way, since he's been interested in you for a while. Just don't hug him in front of Jade and Floyd, because: (1) They will make fun of him (2) Floyd will squeeze you.

★ KALIM AL-ASIM

Kalim organized a huge party celebrating that he passed his finals exams and every dorm was invited, which meant you were invited too. While Jamil was running around Scarabia trying to make sure everything was in the right place and making sure there was enough food, Kalim was waiting excitedly near the entrance for you to arrive.

When you arrived and gave him a kiss on the cheek, he stood there shocked for a second while Jamil had a heart attack right then and there. After like 5 seconds of Kalim thinking about what just happened, he gave you a kiss back and greeted you with the biggest smile you've ever seen. You didn't even explain what it meant, he just ran with it, excited that you gave him a kiss.

Kalim doesn't care whether it's a greeting or a romantic gesture, he's just happy you're here. He's whipped for you and will accept anything you give him. Jamil agressively disagrees, he is the heir of a wealthy family, someone could see this and misinterpret the situation, but Kalim doesn't care either way and will now greet you with a kiss on the cheek, if this makes you feel more at home then he will gladly do it!

He eagerly accepts your hugs, his love language is physical touch, so he's sooo happy when you hug him, even if it's out of nowhere. Give him all the hugs you want, no need to warn him. Kalim will make it an habit to surprise you with a hug from behind, be free to do it too!

★ IDIA SHROUD

The only one that isn't getting kissed in public. He invited you to his room to play this new videogame that just dropped. Idia had bought some snacks and brought some blankets so you wouldn't be cold when you suddenly arrived and kissed him. Idia.exe has stopped working.

Flabbergasted pt.3, he couldn't even utter the word "hello" he was going to say. He's literally that "what happened to hello? how are you? my name is?" audio on tiktok. He stands there looking at the wall behind you for around 2 minutes, in total silence. So you're both standing there in silence, even after you explain to him that it's a way of greeting someone where you come from.

Idia's soul probably left his body and had to come back because he just couldn't throw you out of his room to have a minute of self-reflection and to think about the meaning of the universe and why we're all here and-

His whole hair is pink and he just fiddles with his videogame controller the whole afternoon, only replying with short words. If you apologize to him he will get even MORE flustered and start panicking over what to do.

It's the same thing regarding hugs, his hair will turn pink and he will scream internally, give him 5 business days to recover, please. It's not that he hates you or doesn't respect your culture, it's just that Idia isn't used to physical affection by other than his brother and ocassionally, his parents. But he low-key likes it, just give him a few weeks to get used to it.

★ MALLEUS DRACONIA

He visits Ramshackle's garden every night, it's his favorite part of the day since you're the only one that doesn't care much about him being "royalty" and isn't walking around eggshells with him. But he's surely surprised when you greet him with a kiss on the cheek.

"You're certainly bold, child of man. You surprise me every day"

Were you trying to court him? Was this your way of telling him his feelings were mutual? No? It's just a human way to greet each other? He needs to cancel the wedding he was already planning then, a shame. What a disappointment, and you can see he's upset over it because you catch him pouting when he thought you weren't looking.

Sebek almost has a heart attack when he sees you greeting Malleus with a kiss on the cheek when you arrive to Diasomnia. He has never screamed so loud, the glass on the windows almost broke, people in Heartslabyul say they even heard it. Lilia stops him from separating you from Malleus, thankfully.

Malleus enjoys your hugs, they are warm and it makes him feel fuzzy. He even asked Lilia what was this feeling was. Please give him more hugs, he deeply enjoys it. He just assumes it's another human custom, and he's eager to learn more about your culture, please do tell him more. Now you have another topic to talk about in your night walks.

Write your RPer Resolutions for 2023! (What are some goals for yourself as a writer? Improve descriptions? Plot with more members? Etc.

I really want to work on my consistency with replies. Outside of RP life has been chaotic for most of my time here and save for this past month, I saw a huge improvement since I moved! I just want to take the new year and continue with that momentum and be more involved in my plotting and reply schedule! 

I want to write more self paras! I feel like my characters go through so much behind the scenes that only ever come out in passing dialogue or HCs but I definitely want to be able to flesh out their experiences more via one shots. 

Cause an RP wide event, or at least be the driving force behind a big plot. I love to be involved in them, it brings me joy! But I want to have a character be the cause of something or just pioneer something that everyone can be a part of and craft a story that everyone can be excited to be a part of too. No ideas yet bestie ok.

Write at least one resolution, or “goal,” that you have as an RPer for your character(s)

Rose: Make more connections outside of her huntress connections. Normal friends! San: Same as above, BUT I also want her to start looking for her mom for realsies. This could def include a lot of people! Potentially a race to find her vs Gaston?? Kill the Beast! (Save the Wolf Goddess) Susan: Get her to a spot to do something I have wanted since I got her. She needs to find a better balance and acceptance for herself tho before she will let herself be happy. Maybe even tell someone that isn’t Jess about what she is! Dian: Get better about handling his vampirism. Relapse. Get Worse. Struggle. (Sorry bby) Being a vampire isn’t easy. Laurette: More magic stuff! I loved writing her farmer’s market thread with the fortune telling! Let her use her gift more! Amy: Do more with Foul! It is such a great concept and I feel like I don’t utilize it enough. Lilith: Begin her search for Merlin’s Objects to give to Belos! Also be that Cool, but Strict™ professor. Sophie: Pull her out of her shell and let people in more! She is still new so she has room to grow, but I’d like to see her make friends and potentially tell them what is going on with her.

Talk a bit about your plotting style – what plots are you most drawn to? Do you prefer to come with a fully-formed idea and plot off that, or throw stuff at the wall and see what sticks?

I feel like I kinda suck at plotting lol. I tend to take a backseat and I really do like to fill plot calls when I see them and I feel like I have something applicable. And people tend to do the same for me! BUT! I would say I am a throw stuff at the wall and see what sticks until we can sus out the vibes of a pairing. Then I just love vibing. One of my resolutions was to get better with doing bigger plots and maybe big plots aren’t the meat of the RP, but I feel like my best characterization writing comes from the ripples of those waves. I don’t feel like I am that forward with plotting like “hey I want x, y, and z to happen! Let’s use those as anchor points for the thread” but I WANT TO BE. New year, New Kit. I will only get better and more unhinged from here folks. 

But as for plots I am drawn to, I wanna say I love a plethora. I love larger ones with lots of moving pieces, I just really like to be a player in a long game okay?!?! Like the shark week plot, the knights in elfhame, the fall of the order, Dian’s death at the Gala. Love big dramatic plotlines that make the town talk. But I also love messy relationships like with Tom and Rose and Laurette and Phineas. I think for realism, more people should break up. I love a good doomed relationship. It’s who I am.

Talk a bit about character relationships – what relationship are you most drawn to? How do you prefer to approach shipping (if at all!)? What, specifically, are you looking for right now for your character relationships? 

I love love love characters who bond over shared experiences. Whether it be a trauma or a shared affliction, I just love bonds forged by understanding. Because we all seek to be understood in some way or another and I feel like those relationships tend to last the longest. I am drawn to families and friends who my characters can really bloom around and vice versa! I love a good ship, but I think most of mine have either been plotted out via “hey I want this vibe and for this long with this ending” or purely vibes. Sometimes characters are just meant to be organically and it feels so satisfying to let them have that!! But don’t get me wrong, I like to plan a terrible end lol.

As for relationships I am seeking now, I’d love for San to dip her toes into a human emotion she hasn’t felt before for a human (love) I just think it would be a beautiful and natural part of er character growth to have her find a human that she can feel as protective and soft over as she does her pack. I would love to see Claudette pop in, just to fill the current separation Laurette feels from Paulette since being in school. A sister closer in age might have a bit more understanding than the eldest in her eyes! And maybe some coworkers for Rose (work at Interpride!!) because she needs some work hijinks! 

Talk about your dash reply style and your Discord reply style! (And if applicable, also your doc reply style). What do you like about each type of interaction? What is something you feel is difficult? 

Dash: I feel like I can be so inconsistent with my dash replies. I went from literally not tracking them at all and digging through my reblogs to find threads when I started to actually tracking them in an excel sheet. So we are making progress. I might not have them all up to date, but PROGRESS. And I am actively trying to be better with my dash consistency, especially in the new year :))

Docs: These can go two ways for me; we can bang em out super fast or I will close the tab and forget to do it for days. (I hate having 30 tabs open, it stresses me out). But that being said, I do really like them because they allow you to keep a plot secret until you are ready to drop all of it. And it’s so much easier for 3 or more muns to collaborate because I feel like 3 way threads can get so messy and cluttered on the dash! 

Discord: I love discord threads. I dunno why, but it feels like less pressure to have length or flowery prose (unless it’s an AU then I will go HARD for that shit). It’s quick and snappy and I think the event servers are always poppin and have great stuff happening in them. 

Plotting Exercise! Pick one of the resolutions/goals in #3 and plan a rough guideline to how you could accomplish it. Here’s an example.

SUSAN hears about BRUCE wanting to start a support group and chats with him about what he would like it to consist of, she suggests an AA type forum for Magicks because she has wanted to make a change for that community for a while. SUSAN talks to SIMBA about the AA aspects and how they work, and the BOARD about the arrangements while BRUCE fills out the petition (backed by SUSAN of course). 

SUSAN gives a speech at TOWN HALL about seeking community when you feel alone, how bonds are made with shared experiences and feelings, and how everyone deserves to feel that sense of community no matter who you are. She encourages Magicks to have trust in one another for this program to work. 

The petition passes, a meeting room is reserved after TOWN HALL hours for discretion, SUSAN asks BRUCE to be the point person for MA (Magicks Anonymous)!
