Okay but imagine after that night, you’re almost always in Bucky’s arms. 

At first, its as a thank you after you’ve looked over him after he comes back from a mission. But then he’s looking for excuses to come and see you, hugging you while you give him a little hello kitty band aid for his paper cut (you’ve ran out, since he’s insisted he needed medical attention for just about everything)

The team’s started to notice he’s in the infirmary way more than usual but they start to piece it together when he leaves with his cheeks blushing and a goofy smile on his face. 

You’ve started to feel a bit better but there are still hard days. He snuggles you, and lets your cry as much as you need to, soothing you as best as he can. 

The team confronts Bucky about his antics, thinking it’s just a crush and while that part is true (try raging crush), he tells them you needed a little sunshine too, without saying much more. 

Their heart breaks because they can’t imagine their little sunshine ever feeling upset, especially when you hide it so well. 

You’re stunned at the care package they left on your desk; 

Fuzzy blankets from Steve, a fluffy robe, bath bombs and candles from Nat, a teddy bear from Sam, cookies from Clint (Laura made them and you’d live off of them), pop tarts (sooo many pop tarts) from Thor and squishmallow from Bruce (squish when mad - Hulk)

The most important gift came as a direct order from Tony.

“Take some time off, do what you need to do. All your medical expenses are covered, just take care of yourself first sunshine”

And the best part?

“You can take tinman if you want” 

You take a few weeks off, deciding to stay near the compound while you get accustomed to new medication. You did take “tinman: with you. He was the first thing you decided to pack, running right to his room. Didn’t have to tell him twice. In fact, he asked 0 questions. He was ready to be your Bucky bear. 

You get better. You return. It’s not perfect but you’re healthier. Everything felt like it was back to normal exceeepptttt. 

You’re not ready to return Bucky back to his room just yet. Or ever. So he happily moves into your room. You now have your favorite super soldier to cuddle with every night, doctors orders.
