Annon-Guy: Is BlazBlue Alternative Dark War canon to BlazBlue or is it purely a Spin-Off title like KOF All-Stars?

Wikipedia mentions BB Alternative is set in an alternate timeline, but BlazBlue, XBLAZE, Bloodedge Experience and BBTAG are already in their own timelines/worlds.

Canonicity works a little differently in the BlazBlue universe as far as I understand, simply BECAUSE each is set in different Timelines.

It's not that it's not canon, it just has its own separate Timeline within the canon.

Dark War, obviously takes place during the Dark War, so in BlazBlue's main timeline it takes place a good 100 years before Calamity Trigger's events, technically speaking.

There are still a few aspects of Dark War that take place AFTER Central Fiction's events too... depending on the characters involved.

Feeling nostalgic tonight. I miss BlazBlue Alternative Dark War (or BBDW), it was only around for 11 months and didn't even make it to it's Anniversary. But I loved it all the same. Every second spent playing it I don't regret not one bit. Every point grinding event, every story node, every raid... it was all so fun to me. Just getting to play with characters you'd probably never see in a fighting game and seeing new ones too! Shame that so many problems plagued it from launch till end. I wish I still had it today because there was still something great there! Alas that's not how things work. I love BlazBlue I really do and I still hold hope it'll come back. And whatever form that takes? Well I'll be there to support it like I did BlazBlue Alternative Dark War. So here's some footage I recorded back when the game was live of one of the Astrals of a new iteration on an old character. The Astral Finish of Another Dark Mai.

Remembering that one Phantom Field or whatever in BBDW that takes sorta place in Phase Shift 0 but the Black Beast isn’t named and doesn’t show up. It sorta gets called ‘The Calamity’ or something and it’s like it was there but it’s almost like there’s some kinda loading error when it came to that world trying to process it. And while the other characters didn’t quite know what was up the Babel guys who showed up did or at least it was implied as such. I don’t know what that’s about but it’s interesting at the least.
