Jakob's eyes are a bright green as he looks at her, amusement tugging at the corner of his mouth. "Depends on who you ask? Do you think I'm an asshole for not seeing you?" Despite there being a very obvious answer for how he'd missed her (she barely comes up to the bar), now that he's looking at her, Jakob isn't sure how he didn't notice her before. Oh right, he's supposed to be working. There's a little twitch of his lip when he catches the way her gaze drops to his arms and, while he's not proud of it, Jakob does shift so his arm flexes in just the right away to look like a normal movement of muscle. And not like he's trying to show off to someone he met .2 seconds prior.

"You could say that," he replies with a wry smile, not giving anything else away as he slides the drink to her. "Uh-huh, least I can do." What Jakob doesn't say is that he has preferred methods of making women see stars. "Besides, maybe I can be the guy who got you a drink now instead of the guy who nearly knocked you out." Her demeanor is different from most of the people at the bar. She's not looking back at anyone, and it doesn't seem like she's looking for anyone either. It's like she's got no where to be but right there, taking the seat beside him despite him still standing.

Jakob gives an almost imperceptible smile at how the change does little to their height difference. When his drink comes, he accepts with a nod, shifting so his elbow is on the bar and he's facing her. "I am alone," Jakob says with some amusement at her line of questioning, and ignoring the fact he's working, supposedly. Not really work. Or so he tells himself as he cants his head to the side, studying her face for a beat. "But I'm not alone." He hasn't been his entire life. "Are you? Alone and alone?" Here and in general.

Ines knows she's staring. She's very aware of it, and for the last five seconds, she's been telling herself to stop. "I mean," she clears her throat and a soft chuckle escapes her. "That could be a pretty deep question. Is someone not an asshole just because someone else is more of one?" she smirks, shifting to the other side of him, subtly keeping distance between herself and the bar. For some reason, the way it comes up to her shoulder makes the whole situation feel more ridiculous. Because...he's so tall. Stop staring.

But as he mentions his arms, Ines can't help the way her eyes flicker over them. Broad, strong. She forces her gaze back to his face but that's just as distracting. If not, more. "Yeah, they look like they cause a few problems." she quips, avoiding saying more because she doesn't trust where her thoughts are going. Ines hopes he doesn't notice the way her cheeks flush as he offers his drink, her hand attempting to avoid brushing over his as she takes it. "Oh, thanks. Are you sure? You don't have to, it didn't hurt that bad." she says, gesturing to her temple where only a faint ache lingers. "I only saw stars for like three seconds tops, it's no big deal." as soon as she says it, she regrets it because she's seeing stars for a very different reason. His eyes are so green.

She's staring again, so quickly Ines places the drink to the bar and pulls herself onto the stool beside him. The height difference makes her feel less self-conscious now, like maybe she's finally leveled the playing field. Like maybe, this is an invitation to talk. She glances through the bar, but her gaze is drawn back to him quickly. "Are you alone?" she asks, because there's no way he's single. That makes no sense. But, she instantly laughs at herself and wrinkles her nose. "I mean like, here. Tonight. Not in general...I don't wanna be a therapist."
