Catalina Santana

Catalina es una hermosa y algo inocente joven, pero no tan voluptuosa como sus amigas que prestan servicios sexuales a los hombres poderosos en el mundo del narcotráfico. La joven, deslumbrada por el mundo de riquezas y una vida llena de lujos, decide no continuar su relación con su novio Albeiro, un joven de su barrio que ella ama con todo su corazón. Ella decide buscar a alguien que pueda pagar su cirugía de implantes mamarios de silicona, ya que, según su creencia, esto le dará la fama y la riqueza que anhela. Su madre, Doña Hilda intenta convencerla de que no deje la escuela que con tanto esfuerzo le ha dado a ella y a su hermano.

Yésica (La Diabla), la mejor amiga de Catalina, entró en ese mundo con su propio negocio: seleccionar y reclutar grupos de mujeres por las cuales los narcotraficantes pagan por adelantado para recibir servicios sexuales. Catalina le suplica a Yésica que la incluya en el negocio de la prostitución a los narcotraficantes. Una vez dentro, Catalina cae en manos de Lorena, la equivalente de Yésica en México, que junto con Martínez (un miembro importante del cartel de Juárez), convence a jóvenes colombianas sin experiencia a someterse a cirugías de senos como un medio para obtener una vida mejor en otro país. Lo que las jóvenes no saben es que en realidad son usadas como mulas para traficar cocaína en sus senos para llevarla desde Colombia a México.

Mientras tanto, Bayron el hermano de Catalina, en su necesidad también de salir de la pobreza, ejerce el trabajo de sicario (asesino a sueldo de los hombres del narcotráfico) y más adelante, Albeiro termina enredado sentimentalmente con Doña Hilda. En esto, Catalina conoce a Marcial con quien contrae matrimonio, y entra a concursar para el reinado de belleza más importante del país, para el cual ella es patrocinada por Marcial pero El Titi, un narcotraficante con quien tiene cierto interés romántico, paga 50 millones para que Catalina no gane. Marcial manda a asesinar al director del certamen de belleza a manos de Byron y un grupo de sicarios, y en el transcurso del asesinato, Byron muere en una persecución a manos de la policía. Tiempo después la salud de Catalina se deteriora por lo que tienen que retirarle los implantes mamarios los cuales llevaban droga en su interior. Ante esto ella siente que el mundo se le viene abajo debido a ya no contar con los implantes que ella tenía y siempre codició a costa de lo que fuese.

Catalina se da cuenta de la relación entre su exnovio y su madre, quien luego queda embarazada y vive al lado de Albeiro, de igual manera Doña Hilda se convierte en diseñadora de modas y sus trabajos logran prestigio al punto de ser invitada a una pasarela muy importante, cambiando así el estilo de vida de las chicas del barrio que en el pasado llevaban una vida de prostitución y relaciones con narcos.

Yésica se hace amante de Marcial y lo engaña para que este abandone a Catalina. Uno de los escoltas y mano derecha de Marcial, Pelambre, secretamente enamorado de Catalina, van una noche a un restaurante, al mismo que Marcial llevó a Yésica esa misma noche, ahí Catalina se entera de la traición de su mejor amiga. Catalina decide matar a "La Diabla" (como es apodada Yésica), pero Pelambre se lo impide y le propone hacerlo por ella al día siguiente. Ese día Catalina cita a Yésica a un café, con el propósito de llevar a cabo el asesinato, pero cuando todo estaba listo Catalina decide correr con la suerte que tenía preparada para su examiga logrando así que su vida de tragedias termine.

SIN TETAS NO HAY PARAÍSO Catalina Santana (Maria Adelaida Puerta) es una adolescente que vive en un barrio pobre de Pereira. Catalina es amiga de Yésica "La Diabla" (Sandra Beltrán), una chica que se encarga de conseguirles las niñas más lindas y sensuales del barrio a sus amigos narcotraficantes. Catalina le pide a La Diabla que la presente con ellos, ya que ve como sus amigas del barrio comienzan a tener mucho dinero y lujos prostituyéndose. Pero es rechazada varias veces por el tamaño de sus senos, que son muy pequeños. Por eso se propone como única meta, y cometiendo todo tipo de errores, colocarse un par de implantes de silicona. Con la ganancia de riqueza y poder, Catalina comienza a pensar que no vale la pena denigrarse a cambio de los lujos. The Culture Industry Lab Assignment: Sin Senos No Hay Paraiso/ Sin Senos Si Hay Paraiso

So the first this is a novellas called Sin Senos No Hay Paraiso and the other which comes after the main series call Sin Senos Si Hay Paraiso. These two novellas are very similar by the plots and the man who wrote them and directed, who is Gustavo Bolivar. Now the main series tells a story about a young girl named Catalina Santana from Pereina, Colombia. She and her brother Bayron were born into poverty with a hard working mother named Dona Hilda. Catalina wants fame and fortune and will do anything in order to obtain it, including entering her best friend Yesica " pre-paid girls" service. This is a business of women giving sexual favors for money. In which Yesica introduces this culture to Catalina and convinces her that the only way for to get out of poverty was to join in. When Catalina is working with Yesica, she meets with Lorena and Martinez, who is in the Juarez Cartel, they convince Catalina to get breasts implants because it will help her secure the life she wants in another country full of wealth. But really those implants would contain heroin that they send them in. Although in the end, Catalina begins to remember how her life has been since she's been a pre-paid girl: getting an illegal abortion after being raped by three men, getting her implants augmented and the loss of them due to medical complications, the death of her brother, and learning of the affair between her boyfriend and her mother which resulted in her mother getting pregnant, than the betrayal of her former best friend Yesica telling her current husband a lie that resulted him throwing her out of her own house. In the end, Catalina losses the will to live and plots to commit suicide but she changes her mind and decide to take revenge on Yesica and hire's killers. Catalina gives details about Yesica and when the killers show up they shoot her three times in the back. But when police shows up they identify the body as Catalina, who at the last minute changes her mind and planned her assassination. But before she got shoot she left behind a book with a line she written that says " It's a lie- without breasts there is no paradise".

Now with Sin Senos Si Hay Paraiso, this begins with Dona Hilda, who is pregnant, learns about the death of her daughter Catalina "La Grande", sending her into premature labor to her second daughter Catalina "La Pequena". Fearing Catalina will have the same fate as her older sister and like the many girls in their neighborhood becoming involved in prostitution and in organized crimes. Her mother and father than created this yellow line around their home and forbidden her to cross the line. But Catalina fell in love with a boy named Hernan and after witnessing Yesica bodyguard attacking him she went out to defend him while her parents ran to defend her. This causes Yesica to frame them by planting jewelry and having the police arrest all four of them, and incarcerates them in different prisons. Although Catalina and her family manages to escape but not Hernan can not because he is lead to believe that Catalina is still in danger and so he works for Yesica daughter Daniela who is also in love with him and hates his and Catalina relationship.

Than in season two the story continues with the return of Catalina Santana the eldest daughter. Catalina has been hiding for 20 years after allegedly murdered but instead been working as a DEA agent. With all those years in hiding she has made a life with a doctor name Santiago Sanin who she has two children. Catalina must return to the world she left behind and she knows that with her return will cause tragedies and dislikes, especially in Alberiro who was her previously her boyfriend and to whom she does know if she still has feelings for; and her mother who had left her and cheated with Alberiro. Catalina meets her little sister and her boyfriend Hernan, who later joins with Diabla and her daughter who will do whatever it takes to destroy the Santana family.

These two novellas are directed and written by the same mane and has similar plots to many other novellas and films. There's a protagonists, an antagonists, multiple problems that all fall under the main problem, than there's a love interest in which the guy likes the main protagonists and than the antagonists or in this case one of them, is in love with the guy which makes a love triangle. The climax in which everything get more or less explained into falling to the conclusion.

Now how I relate this to the article of culture industry is that even though drug tariffing is not the conventional sort of industry but it is a industry of drug, connection, and power. Whoever has the biggest produce of drugs in a certain area, than they rules it and all who lives there. And when one is associated with the highest power of the cartel than they have as much power and freedom as the head does.
