Baulders Gate 3 index to give context for people new to DND stuffs.
I've been playing DND for over 15 years now and all of this is mostly from memory so bare with me.
Let's start with some big stuff then go to smaller things:
Ithilid: a creature of the mind. They are a hive mind species around a singular queen. The queen is called the elder brain and she is the source of psychic power. They originated from the under dark but became an evasive species to the astral plane. These creatures are also known as mind flayers.
Astral plane: In DND lore there are a bunch of different planes. We live on the material plane. The astral plane is where thoughts and prayers are but they exist. Other notable planes are the fey wilds, the 9 hells, the elemental planes, and shadowfell.
Teifling: originally a monster in aDND and 3.5 the teiflings origins are muddy. The common origin story is they were humans who lived in concert with or near the 9 hells. Or offspring of humans and the princes of hells. In 4e they became a player race and became very popular. Largely do to the fact they were humans but cooler.
Faerûn: the name of this settings major continent.
The sword coast: the name of this settings major area. It's the western most coast of Faerûn.
Baulder's gate. The largest trade city on the sword coast do to its location in the middle. It's a tad inland but on a major river that is connected to the ocean.
Other notable cities on the sword coast going from top to bottom are Icewind Dale, Neverwinter, Water Deep (this is where gale is from), Daggerford, Candlekeep, and an area called Calimshan.
The Harpers: a group dedicated to the preservation of Lore of the sword coast. Elminster is one of their founders.
Elminster: a former prince of Athalantar he's got a long messy story because he's a major story character. Read his book in Elminster: making of a mage.
Shar and Selûne: these two are God's of the material plane. Selûne is the lunar goddess and shines light in the darkness. Shar is the night goddess she resents her sister for claiming dominion of people during her time. They have a messy rivalry. Shar is also ambitious and has slain other gods.
Some context from Baulder's gate 1 and 2: those games were about Bhaal, the god of murder, who was foretold by a prophecy to fall from the pantheon. So he created children from mortals, demigods of murder, to have vessels to be reborn and reascend to godhood. All these vessels should have been destroyed by the end of the second game. And supposedly it's been 80ish years since the events of the second game.
If you like this game and want to spend more time here I recommend the famously fun couch co-op game: Baulder's Gate: dark alliance both 1 and 2. Find a friend and get two controllers.
And
The Icewind Dale trilogy made up of 3 books.
The crystal shard, streams of silver, and the halflings gem.
These books start to the north and explore the sword coast a bit. Easy to digest reading.

Did you know that I stream?
It's true! I regularly stream on Sunday's with my girlfriend. We Mostly stream Among us, because its her favorite game.
However
This October, we are changing it up a bit. We will attempt to do some scary games for the month of October.
Right now the plan is to stream amnesia and resident evil 5 co-op on Sunday. While on the weekdays I will do some solo streams from 9:30 pm PST to wherever I feel tired. (These might be short, these might be long. Who knows!)
This is where your input matters. Here are two links for some polls that I am currently running. One is for the solo games during October and the other is for future streams.
I would like to get more votes cause the current running seems very limited.
Anyway, hole to see you there in October.

N or X for the ask game?
N - Name three things you wish you saw more or in your main fandom (or a fandom of choice)
Oh shit do I currently have a main fandom? I feel like I'm in the middle of fandom pinball.
This is not remotely a surprise if you've hung around me for more than five minutes but I believe every fandom could use more trans content, and more diverse trans content because none of us agree on jack shit regarding what kinds of stories we want to see. Also more gnc content that isn't just a joke.
Polyships, found family. I cannot write these for hot chewed beans, because my attention span cracks when I try to write three characters into a scene but I am starving for good content of more than just a two person ship. I'm thinking like, specifically TWEWY and Dragonlance right now but it's very not limited to that.
(We're going to redact this one for horny reasons)
X - top 5-10 characters who are yoUR PRECIOUS BABIES AND YOU WILL DIE DEFENDING THEM
I read this one out loud and my brother immediately piped up "THE ORB OF THE UNDEAD," which is a boss in Dark Alliance: Baulder's Gate that spends most of the battle invulnerable while flinging undead at you, and is an orb. He talks about it often.
Alright, real answer time, characters I am horribly protective of:
Shiki Misaki, The World Ends With You
Tasslehoff Burrfoot, Dragonlance
Xion, Kingdom Hearts
Hammer/Sister Hannah, Fable 2
Page, Fable 3
Yuffie Kisaragi, Final Fantasy VII

I can’t really remember a time when he wasn’t in my life..I don’t think I will EVER have a better friend than him, he’s the best friend I’ve ever had! Diablo III: Everlasting Collection (Switch) evaluation-- Permanently Grateful-- Reggie Reviews
Tumblr media
Seeing the incredible assistance and faith Blizzard revealed in the console market was mind blowing for its time, seeing only half-baked isometric RPGs launch on consoles over the last few years such as the 'Dungeon Siege' series and the 'Baulders Gate' inspired 'Dark Alliance' series. It was genuinely a spectacle, watching huge PC titles make a solid dive over to consoles whilst keeping the sound thinking behind the HUD and control plans intact (albeit, no keyboard and mouse. Unless one is really clever).
And yes, this reviewer is very aware of the questionable Diablo release for Sony PlayStation in 1997, and likewise the Sega Saturn variation that was thought about by Electronic Arts. Let's be truthful readers, often it's great to forget, right?
The Don of A-RPG
The Nintendo Change release of Diablo III has actually been put on 'Everlasting Collection', replicating the latest release of the title on other formats, due to the actual size of its balls. All additional content and video game balances are consisted of, plus a couple of unique products such as 'The Legend of Zelda' inspired armour and family pets, an OP AF 'Blizzard' ring and a couple of other peculiarities such as amiibo assistance.
Whilst the context of these extra Nintendo and Blizzard-based deals with will not be ruined for my readers; amiibo assistance does not always indicate any figurines are waiting to be announced (although that would be epic) [edit: what's this?] It works in the same way Skyrim Change did; scan an amiibo for random products, which is a welcome novelty when players are up s ** t creek in New Tristram.
It's constantly an obstacle reviewing a brand-new release of a well-established title, merely due to the amount of gamers currently holding a deep understanding of said titles. The Nintendo Change is home to a few players who have been living under a demonically managed stone for over two years and understand absolutely nothing about the franchise.
One For The 'n00bs'
For the newbies, Diablo was originally a PC-based franchise that was first launched on 31st December 1996. Its initial sales went on to generate 2 follows up, numerous expansions, Comics, Novels and an upcoming mobile based MMO * Takes a deep breath *entitled Diablo: Immortal. Let's hope Activision Blizzard reveal 'Diablo VI' before the internet breaks from shit posting.
Each story is based around a bloody unlucky town called 'Tristram', and later 'New Tristram.' Tristram old and brand-new has a pesky demonic problem from time to time that totally ruins the world around them, which is known as 'Sanctuary'... I understand, right? Diablo is the leader of the 'Prime Evils', satanic forces for us mortals. Diablo has a habit for staying and triggering problem, but guess who's task it is to kill him as soon as and for all? Again!
Whilst the rundown above is a little satirical and a labour of sarcasm, Diablo is known for its strong narrative expertise and in-depth yet snappy leveling and fighting systems. It's only ideal for Diablo III to receive a brand-new lease on life on the Nintendo Switch.
Why Diablo III, Change?
Let's get to the factors why a reader such as yourself has opened this short article. Just how various is Diablo III: Eternal Collection!.?. !? Well, it isn't actually to be truthful! Whilst this model of Diablo III has actually suffered a small drop in resolution compared to its PC, Mac and console brethren, it's all in the name of solid frame rates, even at peak times with 40+ characters on screen assaulting all at when.
It is a work of art, and a compliment to the Nintendo Switch's simple technique to third celebration development when compared to the minefield of its predecessors. The isometric perspective has actually been a little changed to compliment handheld play, in addition to the HUD being scaled in order to not overpower the discussion of Diablo III: Eternal Collection.
Another emphasize of this particular Diablo outing is the particle and special effects. Smoke, magic, gore and ethereal presences look just as great as their stacked cousins. The menu layout is exactly the same, which is obvious as it's fantastic anyway. The primary concern with this version was fitting whatever into a smaller sized screen with clarity to boot.Blizzard nailed this too. Text is easily checked out whilst in portable mode, as is inventory management.
Buddy Up in Sanctuary
Local and online co-op are such a blast, bringing the game-selling-but-now-defunct Dark Alliance series to life once again, in the world it was expected to be played in. Clocking onto a half-hour break with a good friend and two JoyCon is genuinely priceless. No noticeable lag or blips were picked up on whilst playing online, which even more contributed to the polish on Diablo III: Eternal Collection.
The sound engineering is still as terrific as the original release and its subsequent re-releases. Great, crisp, yet deep, with lovely bass scoops when assaulting and doing other heavy actions, resulting in optimum immersion. The voice performing has stood the test of time likewise, offering a dramatic, yet centred performances. A well balanced approach when compared to most other A-RPG; no planks of wood here!
Verdict:
Pitbull (Mr. Worldwide): "Calling all Nintendo Switch owners worldwide!"
Diablo III: Eternal Collection is quite potentially the best method to experience the trials and adversities of New Tristram and Sanctuary. Blizzard have made next-to-no sacrifices in bringing the work of art to Nintendo Switch, it's fantastic to see a studio and now publisher grow from strength to strength throughout the years and put this type of effort into releases. Although, Diablo Immortal? Come on individuals!

Games I Want Remastered (Part 1) Hey folks!
So for my first blog post I thought I’d take it upon myself to think of what video games I would like to see remastered for next gen consoles, your Xbox One’s and all. After all, it is indeed the year of the remaster with the likes of the Crash NSane Trilogy being an absolute banger in the charts, even if it is harder than the original. Most of us who remember Crash Bandicoot are almost functioning adults now, not little kids, we can cope with hard games... I think *cough* Dark Souls *cough*. I use this as an example though. If rumours are to be true it will be arriving on the Xbox One, extending its popularity (and sales) and breaking the exclusive nature of it on the PS4 in the process. If true I hope it goes to the Switch too, can you imagine playing Crash on a crappy train journey?!?
As this is (probably) the most popular remaster since they have been introduced back in the days on the PS3 with remasters like the original Splinter Cell, Prince of Persia, Jak & Daxter and my personal favourite, the Ratchet & Clank games (so freakin good!). So could this game be the one to open the floodgates for many other treasured classics we love and behold to be remastered like Spyro? I’m going to share with you some of my personal choices of games I would love to get the remastered treatment!
1.     Syphon Filter
I only would really like to include the PS One games, not the one for the PS2 (The Omega Strain I think). I really did enjoy that one because all the different guns, but it’s a skid mark in comparison to the original three (2 especially). Also the developers are too busy working on Days Gone so no chance of this remaster happening.
Anyway, I digress. I first played Syphon Filter on a demo and buy god was it amazing! For me it was the first third person shooter (mainly third person) I played that was mechanically what I thought shooter games should be like at the time. The games had incredible level designs from navigating sewers and subway routes, to having showdowns on helipads, sneaking through Russian mansions and my favourite, climbing around bridge supports in Colorado disarming bombs.
I mean for a series of games that came out between 1999 and 2001, I’d say that’s pretty f****** amazing design. Also I forgot to mention... You could taser someone so much that they would set on fire. Nuff said.
2.     Ape Escape
So, this game I played on demo disk that came with the original PS One, and since then I have not come across a game with the same premise. Probably for good reason too, I mean, who would make a game solely on catching apes with massive siren lights on their heads using a range of nets, let alone a dozen!
Where the premise is absolute batsh** (catch ape armies so they don’t take over the world, oh no) the platforming was incredible and it was also very pretty. Like, Mario 64 pretty, or Ocarina of Time if we’re splitting hairs.
Anyway, this game is platforming gold and very unique. There have been many games too so you could make a massive remastered bundle. However, I could probably guestimate that I am in the 0.25% of gamers who would actually like to have this remastered so, not happening.
3.     Medievil
So it’s 2001 and my dad is playing this game in front of his 6 year old son (me) and this game scares the crap out of me! I’m a wimp at best nowadays so I can only speak of fear back then seeing this being played. I think it was all the skulls and the eerie (yet, amazingly scored) music.
I should probably say some good things instead of just saying it scared me…
Here goes, the level design was great, the bosses were great (hard), the controls were pish, the weapons were awesome and the writing was that of pure comedy. If anything it was like a 1998 release of a Dark Souls game, if you try really hard to draw similarities. Who wouldn’t want any of that remastered, and there’s 2 games so bonus.
4.     Baulders Gate: Dark Alliance 1
I am not old enough to remember what Baulders Gate was like before Dark Alliance, however, just by looking screenshots, I don’t think I would enjoy it that much (sorry old Baulders Gate).
This game was the first taste I got at a fantasy role-playing game without being a pure role-playing game, ye follow? It was presented in a 3D perspective using a rotatable top-down view, accommodating up to three (or four? Can’t remember) players on the screen at once and almost seemed like a video game version of dungeons and dragons, a lot more fast paced though. Playing this with friends was the ultimate way to go, allowing you to choose your different character class, even though no one chose the mage, c’mon guys!
I want this again, with better graphics and greater content. Monolith, just drop the middle earth games and get on this plz? Cheers.
So that is all I have to say for today. I’ll write the second half of the list, does this count as a cliff hanger for readers? Probably not.
Thanks for reading and I hoped you enjoyed it. If you have any favourites you’d like remastered, please tell me!
