Bathroom Fan Repair
Someone replaced a bathroom exhaust fan but didn't put the wires back correctly.
The fan depicted in the photos was not a retrofit model.  It was a fan made for installation during new construction and had to be jerry-rigged with screws into its side to make it stay in place.
I wrote a book entitled "Almost Everything You Need To Know To Repair A Bathroom Exhaust Fan In Your Home" to help you save the expense of replacing the entire bathroom fan.  When you join my mailing list, the automation will send it to you for FREE.

Bathroom Fan Repair
REPAIR YOUR BATHROOM FAN - A bathroom exhaust fan repair is something that a novice can do. Bath fans that were installed by home builders usually have replacement parts available from the original manufacturers as well as distributors.
The key is to find out the correct model number and manufacturer of your bath fan.
I have seen some bath fan models that had the model number and other pertinent information stamped into the metal motor bracket or inside of the fan housing. Other Models have a label somewhere inside although they all tend to be covered with dust and dander.
This is what would be required to do in order to obtain the proper replacement parts for your bathroom exhaust fan:
Get up on a ladder (Not a chair or a stepstool) Remove the fan grill Remove the motor bracket Clean the inside of the fan housing and the motor bracket Look for a model number and label Look up the manufacturer online Contact manufacturer by phone or web site to order replacement parts When the new parts arrive, put everything back together
Do not get rid of the old parts until the new parts are installed and running.
Tools that you may need:
Ladder Flat head and Philips screwdrivers Nutdrivers Drop cloth Dust mask Goggles Vacuum
I wrote a 19 page book entitled "Almost Everything You Need To Know To Repair A Bathroom Exhaust Fan In Your Home"
You can order a copy here: https://mrelectrician.tv/bathroom-fan-repair/
The book is free and will be sent to your email address as will some useful electrical information on occasion. The book includes contact information for almost all bathroom fan manufacturers. It also has detailed information on taking the fans apart and putting them back together.
The actual replacement of a bathroom fan motor is not difficult, however locating the correct parts can be challenging.
