Itinerant superhero Joy Boy has just defeated Iron Mace, a villain terrorizing the coastal city of Shellstown. Normally, this would mean moving on to the next city and the next villain.

Unfortunately, he's developed something of a crush on the local intrepid reporter, Koby, who's been covering all of Joy Boy’s battles and attempts to stop the Mace. Faced with leaving Koby behind without telling him how he feels, he does the only logical thing: invite his best friend to come to Shellstown and pretend to be another supervillain so he has an excuse to stick around longer. Obviously.

It's not his fault Zoro goes and falls in love with Koby’s roommate.

any vat7k fic recommendations? I like clean varigo stuff, whump and hurt comfort is great. But what have you read?

Honestly it's been a long time since I've read any fanfics, but I do remember some that is just in my brain forever

When the stars came falling: if you're in the whole body swap and dark Kingdom shenanigans, this one got some cool world building

Batgene and Varobin series: not exactly vat7k, but there's Varigo, and a whole lot of interesting lore. If you're into superhero aus then this is the one

Everything feels louder: straight up one of my favorites, it's a second part of a series au where Varian is actually immortal, the first part is cool too. But do mind the tags, because immortality goes with death!! (Varian dies for like 2 second)

Silent opera: if you like soulmates stuff then I have this one. I giggled like a high-school girl reading it back in 2023. But still, mind the tags!!!
