I watched the staged concert of Les Mis on the weekend and I am glad to finally know the context behind more sad French people in nice 19th century fashion

#cadmus rambles #playing in a dnd game with a cleric who gets his powers from patriotism #and the GM has let me establish a Not French Republic/Empire #so watching Les mis was research for playing a sad French half-elf man #by contrast I think in my upcoming BitD game I will play as a cheerful whaler mutineer who was so annoying to his fellow mutineers #that they shoved him off the boat #and then he had some demonic experiences and somehow ended up back in Not London #basing him slightly off a certain mutineer from a certain polar expedition horror show
