Was the previous chief alive? Meg wasn't sure. She could definitely look it up but also, that seemed like a lot of work and really, Basil was such a pain, always poking around in things that didn't concern him. Sure it was his job but, did he have to do it so well?

"Why do you need them again Mr. Baker? If the documents are sealed, isn't the case closed?"

Megara's involvement with the city council and government had been a thorn in Basil's side for several years now. Anytime he wanted documents or meetings from the building or its staff, he was getting hard no's left and right from her. And why? She didn't seem to like the job much, barely able to stand being in the same room as Hades for very long. It was a suspicious arrangement, that was for sure. One that Basil had yet to give up fighting against.

"You don't understand, the documents I need from the precinct should be of public record," As a private investigator, he had to jump through quite a few hoops to read any records concerning police proceedings, "Why would the previous chief seal them?"
