it was a couple weeks ago when this happened but in physics i sit next to my crush (dinosaur) and it’s 2 to a desk so it’s just me and him together. It’s important to understand that I’ve created a (heavily Batman inspired—I was obsessed with the dark knight & the Arkham games when I was in middle school which is when a lot of this started) small sort of fictional universe called Fairville which is the first and only American city-state located ?somewhere in Texas? (Though that’s subject to change LMFAO) which has also surpassed NYC and become the biggest city in the country. The specifics of how this happened aren’t something I’ve considered it’s just a fact of this universe fjdbfjdbsj ANYWAY

Obviously, in the biggest city in the country, you gotta have organized crime. Duh. And of course, organized crime has to have competition. Enter the Kripkes and the Lyras. Run by Matthew Kripke and James Lyra at present. But, neither of them would be up and running without one Laurentia Rey.

Lauren Rey is a consultant, information broker, middleman, distributor… basically the one person you want to go to if you need anything or anyone. At a price, of course. She works alone but has the same power as an entire family. Also the only reason Fairville hasn’t broken out into an all out war because as one may expect Matt and James aren’t particularly fond of each other, but she keeps things running smoothly.

And what would an OC be without ✨a traumatic backstory!✨ The Reys have been around for a while. Same role. But, the thing is, the Lyras and the Kripkes don’t really like sharing, so they want to keep whatever Rey is in charge as neutral as possible with the worlds most fucked up checks and balances. The Rey in charge is to find a way to have a child, then raise the child completely alone. Lauren’s father had a kid the old fashioned way: with his wife. He knew that he needed to do what his father did. Kill his wife and raise his kid alone, so the only things influencing his decisions were keeping the Rey name alive & his work, not frivolous and dangerous things like ~love~ and ~a family.~ But he didn’t. He loved his wife, and raised his daughter with her for 16 years, keeping his wife completely in the dark about all of it while teaching Lauren the ropes of the job she would one day take over. Then the Lyras found out. Both of Lauren’s parents were killed, and Lauren was on her own.

As you might expect, this leaves her Pretty Fucked Up, so now she has a really bad smoking habit & a drinking problem! And Mental Illnesses™️

Oh and don’t worry, Matt Kripke is totally in love with her and she’s aware of this, but refuses to act on it despite the fact she absolutely has feelings for him because of what happened to her parents. They’re childhood friends, and the Kripkes sort of took her in after her parents died because like. She was 16. And the Lyras sure as fuck weren’t gonna do it. And by “refuses to act on it” I do mean they’re close and have absolutely slept together but she just keeps pretending it isn’t happening
