Little fucker growing up with slow living reader and sevika 🥹
i'm crying this is so fucking cute
men and minors dni
you and sevika pick a warm day about a month after you take little fucker home from the hospital to carry your baby around your little family farm and introduce her to all your animals.
the ducks and chickens were indifferent-- which you were expecting. sevika's a little upset that the birds aren't a little more excited about your daughter, and you just laugh and kiss her cheek.
"it's not snow white, sev, they're not gonna sing to her."
"but, baby, she's our baby! they should at least, like, do a little dance for her or something!"
the goats and sheep are much more excited, all sniffing little fucker with wide eyes, bleating happily, their tails wagging when they realize that the baby you'd been growing in your stomach is finally here. they were all incredibly protective of you when you were pregnant, so it's no surprise that they're all thrilled to see her now.
you assumed the cats would be indifferent at best, jealous at worst toward your baby.
you weren't expecting them to be obsessed with her.
there's always a cat by little fucker's side, bravely enduring her little grabbing hands and squeals and squawks in order to keep her safe.
(the first time your baby girl laughs is when she's squished between bert and ernie-- both of them grooming her by licking the four or five wisps of hair that have managed to grow on her head so far)
icicle, your first cat, is the most protective of your daughter out of all of them. she gives up her spot on sevika's chest every night to sleep on the dresser next to little fucker's crib, keeping a careful eye on her each night.
when little fucker starts to grow up, you let ice in her crib. the two cuddle each night, and you and sevika have about a million pictures of your babies curled together, snoozing.
she learns how to walk in the little field of wild flowers behind your garden. it's much more soft and cushioned than the hardwood inside, or the gravel on the driveway, so it's where you take her for a few hours each day to work on standing and walking.
some of your happiest memories are you and sevika and your little girl in your plush field of flowers, laughing and encouraging little fucker to take a few steps on her own as she grabs onto tall stalks beside her to balance herself.
once she knows how to walk?? you and sevika basically raise her in the goat pen lmaooooo
the goats adore her. she adores them. she's constantly laughing and rough housing with them, pushing them into piles of hay only to get tackled a few moments later. it's adorable.
(she also takes to butting her head against you and sevika like goats do when she needs attention or is upset. it's adorable-- but you worry a bit that she'll give herself a concussion.)
your favorite evening activity is walking through your garden with your baby, letting her pick berries off your bushes-- stuffing her face with the sweet fruit. it's beyond fulfilling and humbling to know that the food you've grown in the garden you've built is feeding the baby you made and adore so much.
sevika's quick to teach your baby how to be handy. each time a project pops up-- little fucker's by her mom's side, holding a flashlight for her, or passing her tools. sevika buys her a little toddler tool belt-- and she never takes it off. (it's usually loaded with snacks instead of tools, a banana hanging off her hip on one side and a bag of cheetos in the little pocket meant to carry screws on the other.)
you decide to homeschool her for pre-school, but once she's elementary aged, you want to send her to the local public school so she learns how to make human friends. (she's great with goats and cats.)
the school bus picks her up at the end of your winding drive-way, and each day when she comes home from school, all the animals start to wander over to the bus-stop, waiting for your baby to get home.
she gets off the bus with a grin each afternoon, squealing a "hi babies!" and then sprinting up the driveway with a dozen goats and ducks and cats running after her.

Valkyrie, Omen & Skulduggery- Crows
Intelligent Problem-Solvers: Crows are highly intelligent and known for their problem-solving abilities and tool use. The two of them are the Sanctuary's best detectives for a reason. Valkyrie isn't looked down on as much because not only is she trained by The Skulduggery Pleasant (who's slightly more feared in this AU), but she's instinctually good at her job which garners her respect.
Social Birds: They are often seen in pairs or small groups and communicate using a wide range of vocalizations. This one is straightforward as well. Skulduggery had the Dead Men and before that, he had his siblings, most of whom were also Hooded Crows. Valkyrie has Tanith, China, Ghastly, Fletcher and Skulduggery.
Crows are known for their intelligence and problem-solving abilities. Social interactions stimulate cognitive development, allowing them to learn from peers.
This is where Omen comes up short. Being largely unpopular and on top of that being left behind by his family a lot, he's not as smart as he's expected to be and has some trouble with teamwork because he's used to 'flying solo' if you will.
Social isolation can lead to increased stress levels in crows, manifesting as aggressive behavior towards other birds or humans.
This has happened to all three of them.
Skulduggery was isolated and tortured and when he was Vile he was alone a lot. Then Val left and he isolated himself again.
Valkyrie isolated herself for five years.
Omen, as mentioned, grew up on his own most of the time.
The three of them start off phase 2 being mildly aggressive with each other and others due to their separate isolation incidents. They slowly get better at it.
Crows, like many intelligent animals, can experience depression when deprived of social interaction. This can result in lethargy and reduced interest in normal activities like foraging and grooming.
Grooming is something those with bird wings have to do and Valkyrie neglects her wings during her isolation, something that she improves throughout phase 2. Omen is very unenthused about everything, something he overcomes as he grows. Skulduggery does less detective work, enough to seem normal to those who don't know him, but he starts to grow bored of the work.
Vocalizations: They use a variety of calls for communication, including caws, clicks, and rattles.
Valkyrie and Skulduggery have their own language that they communicate with when alone, it comes naturally.
Crows have been observed to adopt orphaned fledglings, and this behavior is a testament to their social nature and intelligence.
Yeah, Valkyrie basically decides that Omen is joining them (under strict supervision). Yes. Yes, I'm making the Omen and Valkyrie bonding time in this AU, you can't stop me.
Vocal and Visual Cues: Crows use complex vocalizations and visual cues to recognize their own family members. However, they are also capable of accepting outsiders, especially if the fledgling exhibits behavior that indicates a need for care.
It fits!
Social isolation can lead to a decrease in vocal activity or changes in vocalization patterns. Isolated crows may lose out on learning new calls and signals used in social interactions.
Eventually, the duo grow used to Omen dropping in and Valkyrie starts teaching him their language after he confesses that he was never taught.

"Choice feminism" is bad for women in East Asia? What are you on about? Are you seriously rather subscribe to radical feminism that is so white and fail to account WOC and women from the global south in general? Are you seriously going to subscribe to a transphobic movement? You can't say this kind of feminism isn't transphobic because look at 4B or 6B4T in South Korea and China. The movement explicitly exclude transwomen and has been glorified to death by mostly white women. If anything I say the feminism that includes transwomen is good for East Asia to fix the transphobia problem. I feel sorry for transpeople in East Asia if all the feminists are like you.
I'm just going to elaborate point by point.
"'Choice feminism' is bad for women in East Asia? What are you on about?" On paper, choice feminism sounds great because it empowers women to do whatever they want, as long as it's their choice. In reality, women have been groomed to "choose" things that primarily benefit men. People don't make choices in a vacuum; we're influenced by our environment. When strict gender roles and expectations for women still exist aggressively in East Asia, the path of least resistance is to conform to those values. East Asian women "choose" to be housewives and follow exhaustive beauty regimes because society is kinder to them when they do. Or they think these choices are good for them due to moral grooming. Let me ask you: if a conservative, religious, sheltered, and uneducated woman chooses to marry a man 20 years older and have 5+ babies, how much of that is truly her choice? What women need is not empowerment, but agency.
"Are you seriously rather subscribe to radical feminism that is so white and fail to account WOC and women from the global south in general?" That's an interesting perspective, anon! I'd love to hear more about why you consider radical feminism to be "white" someday. Personally, I think liberal feminism (or 3rd wave feminism/choice feminism, I use these terms interchangeably) is the movement that fails to account for women from the global south. While it's true that liberal feminism is quite inclusive, it is still mostly US/Europe-centric (and for simplicity, I include Canada and Australia in the same category). This means that when it accounts for WOC, it's primarily considering WOC who live in those regions. It is known as "Western feminism" for a reason. Radical feminism, on the other hand, doesn't need to work as hard to include WOC from the global south because those women already tend to gravitate towards it instead of liberal feminism. The reason is that liberal feminism has shifted its focus from women’s issues to a broader concern with gender. When women outside the US and Europe haven’t even secured basic rights directly tied to their sex, why should they align with a movement that has moved on to different concerns?
"Are you seriously going to subscribe to a transphobic movement? You can't say this kind of feminism isn't transphobic because look at 4B or 6B4T in South Korea and China. The movement explicitly exclude transwomen and has been glorified to death by mostly white women." 4B and 6B4T at the core are meant to serve as direct opposition of South Korea and China's patriarchal state and combat its aggressive pro-natalist policies, which view women’s bodies and reproductive abilities as tools for the state’s future. Other aspects of the movement, such as rejecting rigid beauty standards and degrading depictions of women in otaku culture, are part of women's effort to not make themselves (excuse the wording) look "breedable". I hope it’s clear why transwomen can't be included in this specific movement.
Regarding the movement being glorified mainly by white women, I'm not aware it is the case because my focus isn't on the West like yours is. But even if we accept your claim as true, how does the support from white women automatically make the movement fundamentally "white" (and, by implication, bad in your view)? Roe v. Wade was just overturned, so it's understandable that Western women, especially Americans, would take an interest in the 4B movement. Or maybe they simply empathize with their fellow women. Let me ask you this: for someone so determined to include transwomen in every feminist movement, why do you consider white women less of women?
"If anything I say the feminism that includes transwomen is good for East Asia to fix the transphobia problem. I feel sorry for transpeople in East Asia if all the feminists are like you." Or we could have separate movements that collaborate when necessary but don't have to be synonymous. Why does feminism need to stretch itself thin to cover every issue? Isn't that one of the factors Roe v. Wade was overturned despite majority in the US disapproved supreme court decision? Feminism in the West has been defanged so much by consumerism, sex empowerment and gender issues. I also believe having a movement specifically for trans people allows for a focus on their unique issues, making it more effective.
You don't need to be sorry for transpeople here because what I'm fighting for can ultimately benefit them too. You policing women's advocacy movement, however, does not benefit anyone.

Different anon from the nightmare one but maybe we can get nsfw alphabet for Orpheus? He’s probably into some experimentations, both kink wise and the whole drugs/whatever thing
(We?) Hell yeah I’ll do that.
Orpheus NSFW Alphabet
Warnings: nsfw
Tumblr media
A = Aftercare (what they’re like after sex)
Sex with Orpheus is not exactly the most rowdy, so he’s got more than enough energy to draw you a bath, clean you up, get some food, and smother you with cuddles. He’s a gentleman, after all, and wants to make sure you’re doing well regardless of whether or not he’s giving or receiving cock.
B = Body part (their favourite body part of theirs and also their partner's)
His hands are his favourite part of him, as he writes with them, but also because how he can pleasure you in such ways only using such small tools. As for you, he enjoys your eyes, the windows to the soul, and how the pupils are blown wide while he fucks you. Simply, the information available to him from two organs draws him in.
C = Cum (anything to do with cum, basically)
He’s got a decent amount of cum, thin and salty, and he prefers to cum either inside you (with your consent) or on your face and chest.
D = Dirty secret (pretty self explanatory, a dirty secret of theirs)
He wants to indulge in some roleplay, of the less nice variety, as he enjoys having power over an individual, sometimes. But he’s a gentleman, of course, and will discuss with you thoroughly beforehand what it entails.
E = Experience (how experienced are they? do they know what they're doing?)
He’s read some erotica, for research, and has hooked up with many women before. As for men, he’s a bit less experienced, but is a quick and eager learner.
F = Favourite position (this goes without saying)
Missionary’s a classic, and Orpheus is a bit old-fashioned when it comes to courtship. He enjoys seeing your expressions and pressing you underneath him.
G = Goofy (are they more serious in the moment? are they humorous? etc.)
Oh, he’s rather serious, but will crack a joke or two if he sees that you’re nervous. His jokes aren’t too funny, per se, but it’s the thought that counts.
H = Hair (how well groomed are they? does the carpet match the drapes?)
He’s a gentleman, and a dapper one at that (or so he tells you) so naturally, he’s well-groomed, his thick wavy hair neatly trimmed. He doesn’t mind if you have hair, but would rather it be smooth, although he never tells you that.
I = Intimacy (how are they during the moment? are they romantic?)
Despite some of the rough play, he’s very intimate in the moment and is more of a soft dom, than anything. He’ll kiss down your sternum while pounding you, whisper how good you’re doing while his hands worship.
J = Jack off (masturbation headcannon)
He doesn’t masturbate often, but does it to relieve some stress, when writing about it does not work.
K = Kink (one or more of their kinks)
He’s into things like aphrodisiacs, drugged sex (consensual, of course), sleep sex, all things that release your inhibitions and gives him a look at your raw state.
L = Location (favourite places to have sex)
The gentleman side of him prefers the bedroom, but he can’t deny the thrill of the thought of being caught, cocksitting in his office while he’s supposed to be writing, letting loose after a book signing, just in the back of the bookstore… he’s not opposed to any of it.
M = Motivation (what turns them on?)
Of course, old fashion flirting never goes wrong, and the classic touches to his waist, an breath in his ear, will get him hot and bothered. Still, if you go the extra mile and dress up for him a bit, you’ll find he’s a bit more enthusiastic than before.
N = No (what turns them off?)
He’s open to anything, really, except some stuff like scat, fetishes such as anthropophagolagnia (don’t search it up) and all such other strange and deranged things.
O = Oral (do they prefer giving or receiving? how skilled are they?)
Fuck yeah, oral. Orpheus loves oral sex, and is extremely talented at it. He’s not too picky on whether or not he’s giving or receiving, but he prefers receiving.
P = Pace (are they fast and rough? slow and sensual?)
He usually sets a pretty slow pace, but can go fast if you’d like. He has no qualms about being rough and manhandling you, if you’ll let him.
Q = Quickie (their opinions on quickies)
Why not? Unlike some other people, quickies with him don’t become full-blown sessions, and it’s more often than not that Orpheus would go hard and heavy.
R = Risk (are they experimental? do they take risks?)
The more risks, the more fun, although a small part of him tells him not to. He’s very experimental as well, but knows his limits.
S = Stamina (how long do they last?)
His stamina is a bit on the low side, as he constantly spends his days sitting at a desk and writing if he’s not in any matches,
T = Toys (do they own toys? do they use them?)
He’s got a few toys, such as vibrators, dildos, and some bondage equipment, but that’s about it. He doesn’t use them often on himself, and keeps them for his potential lovers.
U = Unfair (how much do they like to tease?)
He’s rather teasing, and enjoys it - when you tease him, less so, but the look on your face is all worth it. He’s not as patient to tease you the entire day as foreplay, but he manages to make you beg for him.
V = Volume (how loud are they?)
He moans a lot, but they’re soft and light, almost feminine, but he’s also quite vocal, describing everything he’s going to do to you.
W = Wild card (a random headcannon for the character)
He’s a writer, and, while not to stereotype, he has written erotica of the two of you before you started having sex. He’s explored his wildest fantasies through that medium, and he’s got his preferences sorted.
X = X-ray (let's see what's going on under those clothes)
I’m sorry, those of you who think he has a big dick, but I don’t. You know, the louder the car the smaller the penis, and all. The showiness of it all - the fact he’s dressed in the latest fashions and is frankly a prick - all drives me to the conclusion of a 4.7 inch (12 cm) penis.
Y = Yearning (how high is their sex drive?)
It’s relatively average, if not a bit lower, as he is absorbed in his work too often to think of having sex.
Z = Zzz (how quickly they fall asleep afterwards)
If the sex is rather rough, he falls asleep rather quickly, but more often than not, it’s more calmer, and he’s able to tend to you properly afterwards.

It’s been two years and I am STILL mad at the ending of Wonder Egg Priority. Maybe enough to brainstorm a better ending for them.
-Starting with episode 10, Kaoru’s trauma is shown in much less graphic detail. Rather than outright assault, his trauma consisted of realizing that a trusted mentor just viewed him as Girl Lite after he made that person his only support system, and his mentor's romantic/sexual intentions towards him aren't made explicit. It tones down the graphic abuse, while also creating a character foil to Momoe, who feels like girls see her as Boy Lite and constrain her to their fantasies and gender roles. Momoe is more explicitly trans, and the episode makes a point that Acca and Ura-acca don’t actually know shit. Kaoru’s suicide wasn’t a “feminine” one, it just got lumped in with the rest because he wasn’t openly out and was buried under his deadname.
-the friends that frill created, rather than. You know. Brutally murdering and traumatizing anyone? They just show up as vaguely unsettling messengers who aren’t supposed to be there. And they start asking pointed questions. Why was Kaoru in the egg? Can the suicides of boys and girls really be separated so easily? Momoe is a gnc trans girl. She experiences gender differently than her cis friends. And the experience leaves her shaken in her faith of the Accas. She’s completed the game, but it’s bittersweet. She has closure, but the dead cannot truly be brought back to life. All that can be done is to create a parallel world, another chance for them to live in, and to say goodbye.
-Rika completes her game, and gets to say she’s sorry. She realizes that eating food in public without being mocked? That’s basically thin privilege. Her arc ends with her asking her mom to make her some comfort food. Frill’s friend asks why, exactly, Rika said what she did, abused her position of power. We see her manager, a grown ass adult man, and the silhouette of her father.
-Neiru isn’t a robot AI because that makes no fucking sense. Instead, she parallels Frill, as a “created girl” who was born to fulfill expectations. It’s revealed that her sister stabbed her and committed suicide because the expectations made her snap, because she wanted to destroy the image of the “perfect girl” as a final act of spite. She apologizes to Neiru, for not seeing her as a person but a tool.
-Ai completes her game, and gets closure with Koito— their friendship was kind of fucked up and gay in the way that repressed thirteen year old girls with codependence issues tend to be, and they actually talk about that. Koito reveals that their teacher strung her along, pushed them apart, and she committed suicide because of the guilt that she’d been complicit in Ai’s grooming.
-Ai tells her mom that she doesn’t feel safe around her teacher. Her mom believes her, and Momoe slowly comes to terms with the realization that she’s been putting her uncle on a pedestal because he was supportive of her transition, but she needs to believe her fellow women. The dude doesn’t go to jail but there’s a marked difference in how the girls talk about him.
-Frill and Himari get to take back their narratives. Frill is literally just a baby created by misogynists, and she decides to crawl out of the basement fridge and tell her dads “yeah I didn’t kill your daughter. She realized that she was just a replacement, that you people saw a daughter as a replaceable toy to make for fun, and she couldn’t take it. Anyways have a nice life lol” and chops off her hair, leaving it in a pile on their doorstep.
-The series ends with the girls taking control of the magical egg gacha— something thematic about girls supporting girls and taking back control from the institutions run by men who exploit their pain and grief for money. There’s a timeskip where Ai graduates school and starts working from home, Momoe gets gayer and starts building up a transgender support network, Rika moves away from home into her own apartment and starts rebuilding her fraught relationship with her mother, and Neiru is shown running the egg gacha for free, and with explicit warnings to the girls who come looking for closure.
-The temptation of death is posited as a human urge, something that exists at rock bottom, but one that teenage girls are especially vulnerable to in a society that will take advantage of them. And warriors of Eros? Those are the ones who choose love. Ai.
anyways. I think that ties up all the character arcs and plot threads? It would be nice if canon had given us this but ah well. I can dream

'The Collective Giving Up' of Feminism
Part 1.
I've heard of radfems complain that feminism is 'couple's therapy for straight women' and in the middle of a huge rant last night a lot of things clicked into place for me: we're currently in the middle of a mass exodus from feminism. The hope of the first wave may have been primarily political, but from the second-wave onwards the focus has been on the personal, the psychological, the emotional. The desire to improve society, or improve men, has had an undercurrent of 'if we can do this, then men and women can finally live together in harmony. We just have to hope that men are merely ignorant of our suffering, and once they are made Aware, once they realise that recognition of women's humanity will not crumble society they will begrudgingly pick up the mop and bucket, a small smile forming on their faces.'
But as time has gone on, as women have gained even more rights and freedom, men have responded with increasing levels of ridiculousness. Not only that, but average man seems to be crummier than ever; he doesn't keep himself well-groomed, he's not skilled in the art of a trade, he can't do DIY, he doesn't want to court you with fine dining and lavish gifts - he expects your relationship to be 'equal' without doing an equal share of the work. You're still a hyper-feminine angel, he's more basic than ever. The romance books of stoic hunky protectors were all a blatant lie.
After this most recent wave of male backlash (gamergate, trumpism), the response has been by the majority of women to simply... give up on feminism entirely. We will never re-habilitate men, so what's the point in all of it?
So, let's go through the different responses of the 'Collective Giving Up':
Mainstream Feminism: Mainstream feminism has effectively re-branded. Now, its primary goal is not real feminist action, but a last sliver of hope that if we de-fang feminism enough, then men might calm down. But this is not for any long-term strategy; it's the equivalent of a woman talking softly and backing down when her abusive husband has a tantrum. Its other, more insidious goal has been to 're-educate' women who wish to use feminism as a liberation tool - a way of soothing angry women by ensuring them that they don't have to do anything or care about women (including themselves) to be feminist - and that's the most feminist thing of all! Especially because it means you get to keep buying things - isn't capitalism great!? But most importantly, mainstream feminist women are incredibly embarrassed and scared of their chosen position; feminism has been put on a spotlight for the past decade, and with men constantly laughing at sexist air conditioners and mansplaining, these scared women, with no social structures to turn to to ensure them that their criticisms are right, have been put on the back foot. Made incredibly insecure and fearful for the few freedoms we have, feminists have back-pedalled.
Trans-activism: Trans-activism has been the final nail in the coffin, a perfect excuse to backpedal without having to deal with cognitive dissonence; if 'gender' is the problem, then you never have to have that stupid air-conditioner argument ever again. phew.
BDSM acceptance: I've said before about what BDSM offers women, and I will try my best to sum it up here. BDSM offers the following to women: 1. recontextualisation of rape and abuse under a symbolic framework, where a new narrative can be reconstructed that it's mutually enjoyed and a demonstration of man's natural, animalistic desire; 2. a simplicity whereby the woman never has to worry if she wanted sex, or wanted to orgasm, or is even attracted to her partner, because she essentially exists in a storybook setting where both partners play pre-destined roles; 3. a situation where the man seems to be willing to reciprocate sexually the way she's always wanted him to - he will dress well, curate an atmosphere, show her full-blooded sexual desire, focus on her orgasm, buy her toys, surprise her etc.; 4. In the case of female domination/pegging, it means she finally gets a semblance of equality through supposed 'role-reversal' and she gets to feel safe from sexual violence whilst never questioning why penetration and submissiveness seem to be inexoriably linked. In other words, BDSM allows an illusion of mutuality, allowing women to believe that male sexual violence was never a problem all along, and if they just roll with it, then all will be well.
Porn/'sex work' acceptance: I originally put this together with BDSM acceptance, because both of them posit the same fundamental idea: that male sexual violence was never a problem all along, and that if women just roll with it, then all will be well. Porn/'sex work' in particular have a particular nasty undertone because they fit neatly into the madonna/whore framework. Modern feminism, dripping with postmodernism, wants to believe that 1. we can successfully remove the stigma and connotations from certain things and 2. that doing so fixes the problem of those things. Supporting porn and 'sex work' allows the typically more privilged feminist to pay lipservice to breaking down the madonna/whore framework whilst simultaneously indulging in it, safe in the knowledge that she's the one who's not participating in those professions and experiencing the horrors that come with them. To really illustrate the point, the fact that viewing porn is considered to not 'count' as cheating, demonstrates the essential dehumanisation of the people involved. But ultimately, all this is window-dressing for the real reason porn has been accepted: men have not only continued to watch porn but they have escalated it - so if you want to secure your chance at a relationship, you have to give up on feminism.
Femininity acceptance: this one is also pretty obvious, but I also want to draw attention to the fact that whilst femininity rituals have gone up, male grooming has gone down. Men don't wear suits regularly in public anymore. There has been a recent growth in some men participating in certain appearance-based self-harming such as cosmetic surgery, but overall the scales couldn't be any more tipped. In many ways this is part of the collective apology - the extra energy put in by the abused women to prove that she was never in any danger of leaving him.

Rhaenys is my favourite character on the show - a show that was overall a massive disappointment - , and along with Visenya, Rhaena and Alysanne, she's my favourite character in the book too. I prefer the book version. The book, while sucking at many points, at least allows much more interpretation since it’s just a history book written by some dude years and years later. Therefore I can literally do whatever I want with the "real" story and don’t have to mind other interpretations. Now the show overshadows and ruins everything Lol.
Okay, but the thing that annoys me personally most is the romantization of Rhaenys/Corlys. First I was angry they made them the same age. I mean, come on! The creators clearly have an issue with depicting age gap relationships since Daemon never ages despite marrying one childbride after another (funnily enough a new haircut doesn’t make me think: oh, look, he grew older). Book!Rhaenys married a man twice her age, which is totally fine, if it weren’t for the fact that she was just 16 years old at the time. (And just btw, in the real Middle Ages people FROWNED heavily on matches like this - even in noble and royal circles). So Rhaenys was basically just a child, who I think was legit infatuated with the older and exciting man. Corlys in turn was glad to score a Targaryen princess, who was then heir to the throne, a dragon rider and pretty. But this relationship only has trouble written across it!!! Corlys isn’t a gentle man. He's got pride and plans - every part of his story shows us an ambitious, determined man, which is okay. If you ask me though, he could only end up grooming Rhaenys. She was a child, and despite all her brains and whatnot, at 16 she still had a child's naivity, that can be too easily shaped by the right person. By someone like cunning Lord Velaryon. The show, however, bust decided to make them this random straight couple from any 80s drama, and completely missed out the potential of a complicated relationship.
And I agree with you regarding the Council of 101. Rhaenys and Coryls could've done more lobbying/politicing for their cause. (I have my theory on why that didn’t happen, but if I say that I attract even more hate from Corlys stans).
But you know, this is why I'm so angry about the Rhaenys/Corlys dynamic on the show. Give me a damn twist. Show me this cool woman finally snapping out of her stupor and realising how she's been manipulated, trying to please men all her life (I see the irony in the Alicent & Rhaenys speech, even though I actually enjoyed that moment. It's good acting). Watching her daughter marry an even worse man, who then immediately after her death grabs the next girl he groomed (killing off her husband on the way) - what better premisis would there have been for Rhaenys to finally wake up??? But what does the show do? They give us a Rhaenys who runs around in circles, telling people she can’t make decisions without her husband and blah blah blah. For f*sake! Let her be a dragon! But no, in this setting women can only be as strong as it's comfy for patriachy and then we have to sell it off as feminism, because "she loved him so much".
I also never quite got why Rhaenys went to Rook's Rest on her own. When Daemon goes to the Riverlands there's an army with him, but Rhaenys heads out all by herself?...bad bad writing. And just as bad to me is the remark on how angry Corlys was about her death. I mean, come on, he was only angry because he basically lost his most powerful tool. Lucky though, that he had those bastards waiting in the background, ready to claim another dragon for House Velaryon.
Note: I would also like to thank the other anon who mentioned they didn’t like Daemon at all. I'm glad and relieved to hear other people share this feeling!
Rhaenys is a really interesting character who has so much potential to be this amazing woman, but then she kinda just goes along with the tide without really putting up a fight. I agree that book!Rhaenys’ actions are a little more understandable(although yeah her going by herself to Rooks Rest is a choice 😬), but show!Rhaenys’ actions don’t make a lick of sense past episode 7(cause why side with the woman who you think killed your son who just married the man who made your daughter so miserable 🫠).
How they handled her relationship with Corlys has been another choice. They’ve still kept the fact that he cheated on her(unless they make Alyn and Addam Vaemond’s bastards) so Rhaenys running around talking about I won’t do anything without Corlys is only going to make her look stupider when those boys show up(and some people say they’ll appear in episode two and she’s probably still alive then😬).
It would’ve been nice with the changes that they made she snapped and said enough is enough, but yeah that doesn’t happen. She never puts herself(or her granddaughters) first. She’s exactly who she claims Alicent is except she might be worse considering she had way more power than Alicent ever had yet she threw it all away for reasons🤦🏽‍♀️
At this point, it’s pretty obvious that this show is all about giving girl boss-looking moments(see having Rhaenys come in through the floorboards), but at the end of the day these women just look silly and weak(getting choked out, cheated on, slapped around, abused, acting oblivious to what’s happening around them, being smiling pretty puppets, etc.)
For a feminist show these women sure do lack agency🤷🏽‍♀️
Can I just say I love how people trash Daemon on this blog even though he's my favorite🤣 It's super amusing, but I get it cause he is very out there. He's an acquired taste.

Listening to a review of the first season of Netflix's Shadow & Bone (to remember what went on) and in the middle of the podcast an angry Ship Shaming rant started (about DarkAlina or w/e the ship name is). I finished the review, it was a good review (I want to be very clear, aside from the rant that generated this post, it was not a hate listen or anything), but the Ship Shaming irked me.
Like, I don't actually ship Darkling / Alina (because I didn't ship anyone in that trilogy. It is extremely easy to guess what I shipped in Six of Crows though, but if you need a hint, think gay thoughts; And I haven't read the latest trilogy so I have zero opinions regarding that).
But looking at my choices in life (the things I am writing for original fiction) it's honestly a surprise I didn't ship it.
Look there are certain things I love:
Fucked up relationships and fucked up people
Hero / Villain Relationships (particularly in the sense of showing how easily the hero could become a villain).
Like I do ship some uh "healthier" relationships (you will never convince me (Meg)ThanZag is a bad idea lol.) But you, podcaster that isn't reading this, had just pointed out how much Mal fucking sucks in the books (He is much more mature and less of an asshole without reason in the show). Like, if your main choices in BookWorld are: "Fucking Asshole I grew up with who doesn't seem to appreciate me and pouts all the time"
Or....
"Possibly (definitely) evil General who is at least paying attention to me" I don't blame ANYONE who finds the latter more compelling, you know? The Podcaster suggested it was Grooming (correct). That was the point. I'm pretty sure Leigh Bardugo wrote it that way deliberately. Like, you could certainly argue you have to be careful with these things in Kidlit because you have an impressionable audience (though yes there are many adults reading). But I felt like Bardugo did it well, you know? Like. Leigh Bardugo never showed the interactions between Kirigan/Darkling and Alina to be a good idea.
While I cannot read minds, I suspect Bardugo wanted you to see why Alina was drawn to the Darkling (aside from elemental powers you know?).
I am not like, a professional or expert, but I think part of grooming (not in all cases) is making the target feel good (about the predator). Like, I've seen it argued that part of the reason predators are so effective is they tend to treat the (young) victims more in a way that feels like the child's / target's concerns are being taken seriously, compared to say, dealing with their parents, you know? I can't cite that, it was a random tumblr post on my dash weeks ago, so don't cite me.
Like, part of the subplot of that trilogy is about Powerful Men taking advantage of vulnerable girls. So once again, I argue the point is made that Darkling/Alina is unhealthy.
but I'm not here to Ship Shame.
I suspect the people that Ship DarkAlina do so knowing it's fucked up. I can't like, take a census, and I'm unwilling to read a mountain of fanfiction / scrutinize profiles for this rant.
But let me put it another way. Let's talk about author V.C. Andrews. Best known for the Flowers in the Attic Series (which I am familiar with, but have not read). She wrote a lot of fucked up shit. That was the point. You may not have known the plot of whatever V.C. Andrews book you picked up, but you probably knew (definitely knew if it wasn't your first V.C. Andrews book) that it was about fucked up shit. Fucked Up Shit was basically the V. C. Andrews brand.
People are allowed to like fucked up ships or fucked up fiction for whatever reason, whether it's a therapy thing or they just find it fascinating, I know there are a myriad of reasons to do so, this is just off the top of my head.
Now, I know this is a longer post and more open to malicious interpretation, so I'm going to just leave a few key points here at the bottom:
As many people have stated in other posts, Ao3 offers exquisite filtering tools, and you have to click to consent to read anything explicit. So if you think fucked up pairings are fucked up and not your cup of tea: filter them out at a minimum. Do NOT click on fics tagged "Dead Dove: Do Not Eat", etc. I'm not willing to debate the ethics of AO3, or ethics of fucked up ships, or any other weird bullshit about shipping and fandom. Complain elsewhere.
I try not to spend my time hate watching / listening / reading things, since this rant was halfway through the podcast and only lasted like 3 minutes, I figured I'd continue. And I was right to.
Just to be safe I'm casting a spell of "Fuck Off, TERFS"
If you do like reading fucked up shit and / or fucked up ships, I'm more than willing to talk to you, especially if you want to analyze yourself. That's why (at least for the time being) I'm allowing reblogs and such. While this was prompted by a particular media, it doesn't have to be about the Grishaverse.

Cutting Edge: The Art and Craft of Modern Barbering
In recent years, barbering has made a significant resurgence as more people embrace the artistry and craftsmanship that skilled barbers bring to the grooming experience. No longer confined to the stereotypical quick cut and shave, modern barbering has transformed into a sophisticated blend of tradition, technique, and personal style. At its heart, barbering is about much more than just cutting hair—it's about fostering community, expressing identity, and continually pushing the boundaries of men's grooming.
Barbershops today are redefining what it means to get a haircut. Stepping into a barbershop isn't just about walking out with a new look; it's about the entire experience. From the welcoming environment to the personal connection between barber and client, today's barbershop often serves as a community hub. Many shops create a relaxed atmosphere where conversation flows freely, and clients feel at ease. The classic barbershop vibe—complete with vintage chairs, traditional shaving tools, and a mix of modern and retro décor—adds to this unique experience.
The skill and artistry of modern barbers go far beyond basic haircuts. They master a range of techniques, from traditional scissor cuts to advanced clipper fades. Beard grooming has also become an integral part of their repertoire, with many clients seeking precise beard shaping and luxurious razor shaves. Achieving the perfect fade or lining up a beard to complement the facial structure requires an expert eye and steady hand, making each cut a work of art. Barbers constantly hone their skills, learning the latest trends and techniques to provide their clients with the best possible service.
The resurgence of traditional grooming methods, like hot towel shaves and straight razor trims, reflects a growing desire among men to reconnect with a more timeless, authentic style of self-care. Clients aren’t just looking for a quick trim; they seek an experience that leaves them feeling refreshed, confident, and in tune with their personal style.
In an age of fast fashion and fleeting trends, barbering stands out as a craft rooted in both tradition and innovation. Modern barbers are not just haircutters—they are artisans who shape not only hair but also confidence and identity. As barbering continues to evolve, it remains a celebration of skill, creativity, and the human connection, making every visit to the barbershop a truly cutting-edge experience. https://hawkfade.com/

what would Morgause have done had Medraut been born a girl?
What a good question!! I’d never thought about that before!
I don’t think csa would happen. I can’t see Morgause doing that to her daughter. I do think Morgasue would still be violent and abusive but I can’t see her sexually assaulting her daughter. She would still use her as a tool, try to control her, shape her into a weapon against Artos.
I can see her teaching her all about poisons and healing herbs. She would train her in her arts. She would also focus a lot on her daughter’s beauty and appearance. It would be very important to Morgasue that her daughter is desirable by men so she can use that for later. But Morgasue would keep her on a very short leash. Morgasue is still manipulative but she doesn’t use sex, maybe freedom and autonomy against her? Fear? I’m not sure.
I’m not sure if Morgasue would raise her daughter to hate Artos or use her as a way to get back at him. Probably both. I can see her grooming her daughter either to tempt Artos or for a marriage with Lleu. Either way, her daughter is not a person to Morgasue but an extension of herself. She would view her as a simple weapon to wield, use up, and if necessary discard. She would not care or even think about what her daughter would want of her own life because to Morgause she’s basically a finger on her hand. Nothing more, nothing less.

Culture and Customs of the Mường Ethnic Group:
Traditional Social Structure: The traditional social organization of the Mường is unique, characterized by a class society with the Lang (nobility) and commoners. The social structure in traditional Mường society includes villages and muongs. A management system operated by customary law is formed here, and all community members must strictly adhere to it. The Mường's residential area is called "quêl" or "xóm," meaning village. A village is the basic unit of Mường society, consisting of several patriarchal families with the eldest son holding authority.
Housing: Most Mường people live in stilt houses with four roofs, surrounded by areca and jackfruit trees. The upper floor is for living, while the lower part houses livestock and stores tools like rice mills. Today, with improved economic conditions, traditional stilt houses are supplemented with tiled, flat-roofed, or multi-story houses that show Vietnamese architectural influences.
Religion and Beliefs: Ancestor worship, worship of Tản Viên, and land gods.
Clothing: Women's attire is more diverse than men's and retains unique features. The headscarf is a plain white rectangular cloth, with a yếm (undergarment), short white blouse, and a long skirt reaching the ankles with intricate waistband patterns. Jewelry includes bracelets, bead necklaces, and a silver xà tích set with peach-shaped and tiger or bear claw charms. Men's traditional attire is simpler, with short round-neck shirts and wide-legged pants, tied with a scarf. Nowadays, Mường men mostly wear ready-made clothes bought at markets.
Marriage: Modern Mường weddings follow new lifestyles, without the bride or groom purchase customs. Young people freely date and inform their families when ready to marry.
Cuisine: Previously, sticky rice was the staple food, but it has been replaced by regular rice for daily meals, with sticky rice reserved for special occasions. The Mường's famous rice wine, with its unique fermentation process, is served to guests during communal gatherings. Both men and women enjoy smoking large bamboo pipes, and women often share a pipe among friends.
Education: Historically, only a few Mường people were literate in the national script or Chinese characters, with the majority being illiterate. Since peace was restored, education has flourished. Most parents now encourage their children to pursue higher education, combining family and school education for a brighter future.
According to 2019 statistics from the General Statistics Office, the literacy rate among those aged 15 and above is 95.5%, the primary school enrollment rate is 100.8%, the secondary school enrollment rate is 96.3%, the high school enrollment rate is 71.5%, and the out-of-school rate for children is 6.7%.

The world of barbering is a dynamic and rewarding field. Skilled barbers wield their clippers and shears like artists, sculpting intricate fades, crafting classic cuts, and leaving clients feeling confident and dapper. But before you step into a barbershop with your own tools, choosing the right training program is crucial. This guide delves into the world of barber classes and courses, helping you navigate your path to becoming a master barber.
Barber Classes: Building a Foundation
Barber classes offer a concise and focused introduction to the fundamental skills needed for a successful career. Here's what you can expect:
Essential Techniques: Learn the cornerstone skills of barbering, including clipper work, scissor-over-comb techniques, and basic haircutting styles for men.
Fading Fundamentals: Master the art of creating seamless fades, a key skill in barbering, using various clipper techniques.
Shaving Expertise: Gain proficiency in straight razor shaves and hot towel shaves, offering clients a complete grooming experience.
Barber Shop Essentials: Classes may introduce you to basic sanitation and hygiene practices, safety protocols, and barber shop tools and equipment.
Barber classes are ideal for individuals seeking a foundational understanding of barbering before committing to a longer program. They can also be beneficial for those looking to expand their skill set in specific areas or for hairstylists wanting to add barbering services to their repertoire.
Barber Courses: Mastering the Craft
Barber courses offer a comprehensive and in-depth learning experience, equipping you with the skills and knowledge to excel as a professional barber. Here's a glimpse into the curriculum:
Advanced Haircutting: Go beyond the basics and delve into a wider range of men's haircutting techniques, including classic styles like fades, pompadours, and flattops.
Coloring for Men: Many courses incorporate modules on men's hair coloring, including grey blending, highlights, and corrective coloring techniques.
Advanced Shaving: Refine your wet shaving skills and explore advanced shaving techniques like straight razor artistry and beard sculpting.
Business Essentials: Some courses offer modules on barber shop management, customer service practices, and business skills like marketing and finances.
Barber courses typically take longer to complete than classes and provide more hands-on practice opportunities. They are ideal for individuals serious about pursuing a career in barbering and want to be fully prepared for the professional world.
Finding the Perfect Program: More Than Just Location
While location is a factor to consider, here are some additional points to ponder when choosing between barber classes and barber courses:
Career Goals: If you envision a fast-paced career as a barber, a comprehensive course might be ideal. If you're exploring barbering as a side hustle or additional service, classes can provide a solid foundation.
Learning Style: Consider your preferred learning style. Courses typically offer a structured learning environment with a set curriculum and schedule. Classes provide a more flexible learning approach, often focusing on specific skill areas.
Time Commitment: Evaluate your available time. Courses demand a longer commitment compared to classes.
Utilize online resources like the National Association of Barber Schools and Cosmetology Schools (NABS) and your state's licensing board website to find accredited programs. Talking to established barbers can also provide valuable insights into the industry and specific program recommendations.
Sharpen Your Skills, Shape Your Future
Whether you choose barber classes or a course, the key is to invest in high-quality training. By carefully evaluating your needs and career goals, you'll embark on a rewarding path to becoming a skilled barber. So, grab your clippers, hone your craft, and prepare to leave your mark in the world of barbering!
To know more about the barber classes, or barber course , we recommend you to visit the Men Zone Academy , as it is the best  barber academy  in Canada.
