Declutter in 2024 with the Aid of Our Junk Hauling Services
Have you noticed you have less and less space to entertain? Or maybe you can’t park your car in the garage. Or is your attic so stuffed with “stuff” that you’re afraid to venture up there? If you answered “yes” to any of those questions, you should know that decluttering is easier with the help of a dumpster rental and junk hauling services.
We should specify that we don’t do the junk removal for you. You, the homeowner, provide the labor, while we provide the dumpster delivery and haul away your junk.
If you’re the type to make a New Year’s Resolution, decluttering your house might be at the top of the list. But so often, we make resolutions and then fail to keep them because they require continual effort. But decluttering a garage, attic, or basement is one of those things that can be done in a long weekend, and you reap the benefits for years to come.
Keep reading for some tips on how to declutter your home and enjoy your space more in the New Year.
Tip #1: Set a Goal and a Timeline
Do you want to convert your attic into a bedroom? Maybe you want to turn your basement into a home theater. Or maybe you just want to be able to park your car in the garage. Decide what portion of your home you’re going to clear out – or go big and do more than one area.
Give yourself a timeline and a deadline. If you’ve scheduled home remodeling, you know you have to get rid of the clutter before work can start.
Tip #2: Sell, Donate, Keep, or Toss
Go through the area to be cleaned out and decide what to do with everything.
Sell. Determine what you might be able to sell and list it on Facebook Marketplace or NextDoor. If it doesn’t sell, donate it.
Donate. Donate gently used items that can still be useful to someone who doesn’t have the money to buy something new. Some charities will send a truck if you have large items.
Keep. Decide what is still in great shape and gets a lot of use. Keep those items.
Toss. Anything that is broken and has been sitting around for years should be tossed. You can also toss old magazines, stained or torn clothing, and other items no one wants or needs. When you have a lot of stuff, and a lot of big stuff, renting a dumpster and scheduling junk removal services will save you time and money.
Driving loads of junk and trash to the dump yourself can be time-consuming and use a lot of gas. By tossing everything into a dumpster that we then haul away when you’re done, you have more time to devote to getting your space exactly the way you want it.

Tip #3: Clean the Area
If you get rid of a lot of junk that’s been sitting in your garage, basement, or attic for years, chances are good that you’ve also stirred up some dust and disturbed some cobwebs. Sweep or vacuum the floors. Dust all flat surfaces. Sweep down the walls and then wipe them down. Clean the windows inside and out.
You’ll notice not only is the area decluttered, but it looks brighter. By decluttering, you just reclaimed space in your home that you can now use for something a lot more fun than storing old junk.

I have used J R Hauling Services residentially for the last two years!!! They are great! They come when they say they will!! They are helpful and fair in their pricing! I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for “debris removal”!!! -Shelley S.
JRs was super-fast getting me several dumpsters swapped out as we emptied my father’s house- we filled 3, 20-yard bins, at a very reasonable price. They even got us the last one on a Sunday morning, which I was not expecting to be able to do! Basement Remodeling - Basement Waterproofing Harford County
For homeowners, basement remodeling can be fun and exciting — or worrisome and exhausting. Finishing or remodeling your basement is one of the most popular home improvement projects there is. Basement remodeling allows you to take full advantage of all the living space your home has to offer, instead of using your unfinished basement as a big storage area.
Bel Air Waterproofing
At Bel Air Waterproofing, we take the worry out of the basement remodeling process. Most basement finishing jobs can be completed in 2-3 weeks — with minimum disturbance upstairs. Call us and we’ll explain how.
Did your basement flood? We’ll replace damaged drywall, insulation, vapor barrier, and other materials after any basement waterproofing services that are necessary. We may also change the grade of the soil around your foundation to make sure water runs away from the foundation, and not towards it.
No basement remodeling work begins until moisture/water has been redirected and managed around your home. There’s no point in finishing or remodeling a damp basement without taking care of the moisture problem first, as it will just reoccur and damage your newly remodeled basement. Talk about a waste of money!
Basement remodeling after waterproofing turns a dark, damp and musty space into a warm and inviting space. From a simple finished basement to a home theater, guest quarters or rental unit, the options are limitless. We are licensed with the Maryland Home Improvement Commission, so you can rest easy, knowing that you’re working with professionals.
We’re proud of our basement finishing and remodeling services, and it shows in quality results. We treat every home like it’s our own! Contact us today to get started on your basement remodeling project! We provide basement waterproofing and basement remodeling to homeowners and businesses in Maryland and Pennsylvania. Call us today at 410-692-9260 to schedule a free estimate.

HOW MUCH CAN I FIT IN A ROLL-OFF DUMPSTER?
Arranging a dumpster rental can make decluttering a house before putting it on the market or disposing of home remodeling debris a snap. Instead of wasting time and gas making repeated trips to the dump, you simply toss everything into a roll-off dumpster, and we haul it away when it’s full.
You’re here reading this because you’ve already decided a dumpster rental is a smart idea, but you’re wondering how much you can fit in a roll-off dumpster, and what size dumpster you should get. Hopefully, this blog will help you make your decision.
Roll-Off Dumpster Sizes
How much you can fit in a roll-off dumpster depends on what size you get. We have 3 dumpster sizes available:
SizeDimensionsWeight Limit
10 cubic yards12’ Long x 8’ Wide x 3.5’ Tall2-3 tons (4,000-6,000 lbs)
15 cubic yards14’ Long x 8’ Wide x 4’ Tall2-3 tons (4,000-6,000 lbs)
20 cubic yards14’ Long x 8’ Wide x 5.5’ Tall2-4 tons (4,000-8,000 lbs)
All of our roll-off dumpsters have doors at one end that you can open and walk things in. You can also toss things in over the side once the heavier and larger items have already been loaded. Pay attention to the weight limits. This can really come into play if you’re getting rid of heavy materials like concrete or wet carpeting.
Now let’s get into the specifics of what will fit in each size.
What Will Fit In A 10-Yard Dumpster?
This is the smallest size dumpster we offer, and it can be the ideal size for smaller projects like clearing out your garage, basement, or attic. To put it into literal terms, a dumpster this size can typically hold 50-60 33-gallon size trash bags. These are the extra-large trash bags you might put lawn debris in. This size will fit debris from a bathroom remodel or small kitchen renovation.
What Will Fit In A 15-Yard Dumpster?
This dumpster is popular for a lot of home improvement projects, including roofing jobs, landscaping and hardscaping projects, and home cleanouts. It can hold the equivalent of 70-90 33-gallon trash bags.
What Will Fit In A 20-Yard Dumpster?
This is the largest size we offer. Since it’s taller, than the 15-yard dumpster, it will fit even more. This size dumpster can hold 100-120 33-gallon size trash bags. It holds the equivalent of about 10 pickup truck loads of debris. It will fit debris from larger renovation projects, including replacing carpeting.
Whichever size roll-off dumpster you choose, be careful not to fill it above the top, because that will result in overage fees, or prevent us from hauling it away. In addition, if it’s going to rain, cover your dumpster with tarps or plastic sheeting to keep water out. It can increase the weight of upholstered furniture or carpeting that you’re getting rid of.

Dumpster Rental 101: What You Need to Know Before You Rent .
Construction companies and contractors rent roll off dumpsters all the time, so they know all of the lingo and what they can fit in a dumpster. But if you’re like most homeowners, you’ve never rented a dumpster. That’s why we’ve put together our Dumpster Rental 101, where we go over some of the basics.
Let’s get started.
When You Might Need a Dumpster
Most of our residential customers rent a roll off dumpster for 3 basic reasons, all of which involve getting rid of a lot of debris and trash all at one time. These occasions include:
· A big DIY landscaping project
· A garage, basement, attic, or whole house cleanout
· A DIY home remodeling project
We mention DIY projects, because in most instances, if you hire a contractor to do a landscaping project or home improvement project, they take care of renting a dumpster or using dump trucks to dispose of waste and debris.

Dumpster Sizes
Once you’ve decided to rent a dumpster, you have to decide what size to get. Dumpster sizes are measured in cubic yard capacity. The most common sizes (and sizes we rent) are:
10 Yard Dumpster Rental
The smallest dumpster, this size is big enough for things such as yard waste disposal or garage cleanout. The smaller size means the sides are low enough you can just toss things in rather than wheel them in.
15 Yard Dumpster Rental
Ideal for most home projects, this size holds the equivalent of about 4 ½ pickup truck loads. Lower sides again allow you to toss things in from all sides.
20 Yard Dumpster Rental
This size is commonly used by contractors and construction companies, but is also a good size for a whole-house cleanout, such as you might have before moving.
Dumpster Rental Prices
Dumpster rental prices vary from business to business and even county to county in Maryland. That’s why it’s important to get more than one quote before you commit. Be sure to ask each company what’s included in the rental price, as well as added fees such as:
· Overage charges
· Tipping fees
· Fuel surcharges
· Late fees
You may get a lowball quote that sounds great, but then the company tacks on so many fees that it ends up costing more than another company quoted. You can avoid overage charges by not overloading your dumpster, and avoid late fees by finishing your project on time.
Where to Put Your Rental Dumpster
It’s important to decide where to put the dumpster BEFORE our truck arrives with your rental. Most people either have us put it in their driveway. Make sure you follow HOA rules if you are part of one. You will need to be on site when we deliver.
What NOT to Put in Your Rental Dumpster
First of all, don’t overload your dumpster – don’t load it past the top of the container. Then, be sure you DO NOT put the following items in your dumpster, as they are prohibited.
· Flammable liquids
· Propane tanks
· Oil drums
· Compressed gas cylinders
· Poison (rat poison, ant poison, etc.)
· Tires
· Car batteries
· Anything containing asbestos
· Appliances
· Electronics
· Lawn mowers
· Railroad ties
We may be able to help you dispose of some of these items, but please don’t toss them in the dumpster. You may also want to check with Harford County Waste Disposal Center or the Baltimore County Solid Waste Trash Disposal FAQs to see if you can drop some of these items off at a county collection site.
For even more information about renting a dumpster, visit our FAQs page.
Set Up Your Dumpster Rental Now
To set up your dumpster rental, call or text us at 443-286-3284 and we’ll be happy to work with you. In most cases, we can deliver your roll off dumpster(s) the next day. We allow you to keep the dumpster for up to 10 days, and you simply call us when you’re ready for us to pick it up.
We offer competitive dumpster rental prices to homeowners and commercial contractors throughout Baltimore and Harford counties.

How to Choose the Right Size for Your Needs
Dumpster sizes – it’s not a glamorous topic, but it’s an important one to get right. Renting one or more roll off dumpsters can make a DIY remodeling project or house cleanout project less stressful. There’s no need for someone to keep driving to the dump. In fact, you don’t even need a pickup truck if you have a dumpster!
Construction companies and contractors we work with know exactly how much will fit in each dumpster we rent, but as a homeowner, you may be wondering how you’re supposed to choose the right size for your project. The good news? We’ve put together some information to help you get just what you need.
We’ll be discussing the 3 dumpster sizes that we rent. The sizes are based on the cubic yard capacity of each unit. To make the most of any dumpster rental, if you can break down larger items, you should. This will allow you to fit more in.
10-Yard Dumpster
This is the smallest size roll off dumpster you can rent. Its compact size allows it to easily fit in most driveways. The exact dimensions vary from company to company, but ours measure 12’ long x 8’ wide x 3.5’ tall. The lower sides allow you toss stuff in from all sides. You can also wheel heavier items in at the start.
The estimated capacity for this size is 50-70 33-gallon trash bags. That also equals about 3 pickup truck loads. In general, this size is good for a basement or garage cleanout, a bathroom remodel, or for heavy debris such as concrete or brick.
15-Yard Dumpster
This size will also fit in most driveways, and holds about 4.5 pickup truck loads of debris. Dimensions may vary based on who you rent from, but ours measure 14’ long x 8’ wide x 4’ tall. The sides are still low enough that you can toss or place things in from all sides. It’s recommended to wheel in larger, heavier items first.
Our customers typically choose this size for larger home cleanouts, smaller renovation projects, and landscaping projects.
20-Yard Dumpster
This size will fit in your driveway as well, making it very convenient for larger projects. The 20-yard dumpster is suitable for projects such as roofing, flooring and carpet removal, and whole house cleanouts.
The ones we rent measure 14’ long x 8 x wide x 5.5’ tall. The higher sides increase the capacity, but means for the most part, you will need to wheel items in or toss them up and over the sides as it fills. Of course, with roofing, the material can be dropped from above.
The capacity is roughly equivalent to 6 pickup truck loads.

Larger Dumpster Sizes
There are larger roll-off dumpster sizes, which are mainly for large construction projects. If you have a particularly large project but don’t have room for a 30or40 yard dumpster, you can rent two or more smaller roll off dumpsters at a time, or you can arrange it so that when one dumpster is full, we bring a new one and haul the full one away.
Renting two 10-yard dumpsters might be a good solution if you are taking out a concrete slab patio and revamping your landscaping. This would help ensure you don’t face overage charges due to the weight of the concrete. Then the landscaping debris could go in the second dumpster.
Call Now to Schedule Dumpster Rental
If you’re still not sure what size dumpster rental harford county md you need, we’ll be happy to make a recommendation after talking with you about your project. Just call or text us at 443-286-3284. We work with construction companies, contractors, and homeowners in Harford County and Baltimore County. Please give us at least one day’s notice before you need your roll off dumpster delivered.
Did You Know?
Did you know we make every effort to recycle as much of your debris as we can? This includes metal, concrete, landscaping debris, and more. We encourage you to rent a separate dumpster for concrete, not only because of weight issues, but because we can take it for recycling, thereby leaving it out of a landfill.
