I'm curious to know, what would you and your f/o's houses be/look like??

#i'll go first #for sero and I its a cozy lil bungalow with a very decent sized backyard #so we could have a lovely deck set to host friends and/or have summer dinners outside #with a very intricate garden with a few sitting areas so you can enjoy the flora (remember our rock garden??)#a lil zen garden for sero #and a shaded side with our hammocks so we can lay out and turn off for a lil bit #as well our home set up with a few guest rooms - as well the basement set up for me to enjoy #with my own lil TV area and a downstairs bedroom set aside for me office/craft room #with Bokuto we have a lovely brick townhouse #the backyard is just big enough to have a nice gazebo like sitting area and a small running space for our puppo #the basement is a workout area for him - he's elated when I join from time to time #and one of the upper bedrooms is solely for me!#(again office and craft room)#and yeah!#I wanna know all about yours pls #🔮.the peddler mumbles #🔮.the peddler's self-ships

#church today. holy heck.#my worship director is pregnant (again)#the youth pastor's wife is not going on the Big Youth Overnight Trip this weekend. she is arranging a ride for me though #worked with that specific sound guy :)#we were the only two people in the young adults age demographic who did not raise our hands when asked to during prayer time #(it was a young adults specific prayer time skskkffnsknf)#I pointed this out to my mom on the way home and my mom promptly replied ''you're meant to be :)''#I promptly told her ''I dunno if I liked that comment'' and she said it was a joke. HOWEVER.#it has been a WILD day and it's only 1pm #EDIT: it's after 3:30 by the time I'm posting this and I have prepped donuts and also dealt with a dog #who is terrified of the stairs into the basement that unfortunately she has to walk past to go outside #oh also the youth pastor's wife asked me to help her out during her ''office hours'' this week bc she has to make a ton of phone calls #so I'm gonna do that I guess #Lu rambles

saw a post that said “do you think jesus, the son of a carpenter, smelt the wood of the cross and temporarily thought of home” and i started thinking about mulder and all those little girls in paper hearts and their nightgowns and their little cherub faces so full of a life they didn’t get to live long enough. and when he found out that one little girl wasn’t samantha, he still said “it’s someone though” and it broke his heart just as if it were, because he was thinking of home—of a kid sister with a pink nightgown he couldn’t exactly recall and pigtails and wide eyed innocence who needed him just as bad as the girls in his dream. the cloth fabric of their nightgowns and the mystery of what had been in the palm of his hand might as well have been a nail that hung him up to a past he would never escape.

#misc.#but i also think this could be said about his relationship to bill mulder #did he sit in front of csm listening to the cadence of his voice and looking at the cloth of his suit #watching his smoke cigarette after cigarette and think briefly of happy summers and his father in the office #eating his sunflower seeds beneath the glow of a desk lab #did he sit in his own basement office alone feeling lost and angry and restless #and thinking of the man who raised him? of the tiredness in his eyes and the way the sunflower seeds cracked between his teeth #did he think of home ?

#not to complain again about the Summer Malaise but august is going the way the second half of july did which is to say very unproductive #i haven't been working well at home lately so the obvious remedy is to get out. but working on campus has drawbacks as well #b/c the buses are unreliable in the summer and money is tight enough that i don't want to be tempted to buy coffee and food on campus #and our grad office is in the basement with no natural light so it can be pretty grim #also it's too bright and too hot outside and just walking to the store makes me feel like i need to sit in front of the a/c for an hour

two days ago i accidentally bleached my hair bright orange and then yesterday my period started and im in the worst pain of my whole life and i just ordered a large margarita with extra tomatoes and im considering downing my grandma's whisky til i can't walk.

Parents guilted me into spending basically all my spring break with them at home (in their defense I never told them I wanted to only be home a few days)

Fucking basement flooded. Again. There’s some sort of flooding/water damage every year or so in this goddamn house. I don’t know if it’s bc the house is fucking put together and was repaired with gum and duct tape by the previous owners or that the ppl my dad brings in to do actual repairs always suck ass, but both is likely

#I can’t get to the back corner where my home art stuff is bc the basement is a borderline hoarder situation #like the og plan was finished + SOME storage + video game/kid hang out area #then more random crap from my parents would end up down there or wouldn’t be put away after digging around in storage #then flood 1. had to gut it out. didn’t refinish it (thankfully) and tried to stick with the same plan (but w suspiciously less kid space)#then flood 2. after clean up it started off w mostly the same usage then became a more dedicated work space for me and hs bro during covid #and during that like 2-3 year gap w/o basement flooding (dw other parts got fucked instead) soooo much junk ended up down there #like cardboard boxes of literal junk my dad cleaned out from his car/office desks. and just plopped down on the floor #and just spread out everywhere. like it wouldn’t be AS bad if the junk was stacked up #oh wait I lied. we HAVE had water issues since covid down there. but just small things that didnt wreck it 🙃#anyways. had to deal w dad yelling and blaming everyone else for there being a bunch of crap down there <3 yay!!#bri rambles
