iirc it’s either canon or a common headcanon that lusii name the trolls they look after, and while it is funny to think of assorted growls and other animal noises somehow translating into a proper name, I like to go with it being a job for the cavern workers

Jadebloods flipping through astrology books or books with scientific names for animals or dictionaries in other languages looking for what to name the latest batch of grubs

Looking through bloodline databases and seeing patterns that they need to uphold, and cursing the matron from generations past who decided that every grub hatched into a specific bloodline should have a name starting with H cuz they’re too attached to calling the newest hatchling Trizti

Caverns that give all their clutches themed names. All grubs from one clutch are named after desserts. The next ones are named after sports teams

Some poor overworked jadeblood who has been trying to come up with names for like six hours straight just goes fuck it. This green dude is Cactus. I don’t care anymore
