Bellatrix Black, Alecto Carrow, Avianna Yaxley - Best Friends 

It was no surprise that the girls quickly bonded from the start. Bella was an inspiration to Emma and remains so. Alecto was someone she could genuinely go to with anything. Avianna was her Quidditch partner and partner in crime.  // aesthetics include: loudly shouting at one another, swapping clothes, long conversations that go nowhere, competitive in all games, sharing a study guide because lazy and effective, always partnering for class projects, huge celebrations when things go right, group hugs when things don’t, doing each other’s hair and make up to impress, shrieking about boys, silent understanding of how things work for people like them. 

Rodolphus Lestrange, Amycus Carrow - Best Friends 

Emma wasn’t close to Rod or Am until second year, when she finally got a backbone. Now the three of them are way too close. Emma and Evan have a complicated relationship to put it lightly, but she genuinely cares for him in the best ways and wants desperately to understand him and draw out the person she knows is there, especially because he sees the person she is when nobody else is looking. // aesthetics include: screaming at one another, breaking things, overly competitive on the quidditch pitch despite being on the same team, apology gifts showing up randomly, pushing one another to do better, sitting in silence for hours, bonding over elwood, always going over the line but somehow finding their way back again, getting lost together, secret nerds unite, traveling together, stargazing, the smell of pumpkin pasties in the autumn. 

Rabastan Lestrange, Narcissa Black - Close Friends/her smols 

Emma is a protective individual, and two of the people she’s taken to protecting are Rab and Cissa. She views them as her little siblings and strives to keep both of them close to her despite how different her individual relationship is with both of them. Rabastan is her little brother, her partner in crime, and her Quidditch babe, whereas Narcissa is her little princess, the one she wants to help guide. // aesthetics include: quidditch notes & practices, driving one another insane, bonding over difficult parents, campfires on cold evenings, bribing with food and/or books, always being a shoulder to lean on, silence in the commons but together.

Barty Crouch Jr. - Childhood Friend 

Emma met Barty when she was quite young as their fathers were friends through the ministry and would often send Emma and Barty off to play. Emma took to him quite well, despite the fact that she thinks he needs to grow in confidence. Since she’s older and runs in different circles, they’ve grown distant since coming to Hogwarts but are always friendly, and she’s tutored him before despite the fact he doesn’t need it and ends up giving her advice instead. // aesthetics include: looking through old photo albums, long study sessions in the library, too many empty tea cups, nudging and giving words of encouragement.
