Sargasso Moon, Newleaf (#1)

As Pitchpaw is apprenticed to Snailstripe, she hopes that she'll get to do something that will impress the clan as her first day as an apprentice. Such excitement in her young mind causes her to make some... irrational decisions. She and Bluepaw run off in the direction of the Coverclan border, eager to prove themselves. Pitchpaw returns with a torn ear and a tummy ache. Bluepaw returns with a migraine.

Scorchtrail finds a kittypet loitering near the Poolclan-Coverclan border. He calmly introduces himself as Neptune, explaining that his twolegs disappeared one day and never returned. He is brought back to the clan and offered a place to stay, as well as a new name: Neptunetwist.

The apprentices are eager to meet Neptunetwist, and gather up items to formally introduce him to Poolclan. However, Barnaclepaw starts a fight with Pitchpaw during the process.

A small dog gets loose near some of the tall rocks, leaving Chitonchaser and Sculpinspots to herd it away. All they do is excite it more, and are forced to scale the rocks and wait, exasperated, for the mongrel's twolegs to take it home.

Chitonchaser informs the clan's healer, Ochreears, that she had a vision while hunting by herself along the shore. They discuss it together. After a long walk, they depart, frustrated from being unable to divine the vision's vague meaning.

Dolphinfade died of greencough.

Swiftspark's tail was injured badly by a fox.

Honeymurk and Busheye have caught greencough.

Redocean has recovered from Greencough.

Weaselcrash died of yellowcough.

Conchblaze's tail was injured by a fox.

Petunianight has died of greencough.

Pumapaw, Gardeniapaw, and Deltapaw have all been made warriors! Pumapelt after their stealth, Gardeniasplash in honor of their responsibility, and Deltarunner in honor of their observance.

Barnaclepaw's leg is starting to swell and smell sour.

Whisperpeak and Grousefleck have welcomed three new kits to the world. Their names are Springkit, Fawnkit, and Podkit.

Sleekrun was bitten by a snake and while in the medicine den recovering they also caught whitecough. Poor Sleekrun.

Saltears caught greencough.

Oddspots recovered from greencough. However, on their first patrol out an apprentice was attacked by a hawk which Oddspots saved them from but they ended up getting injured instead so they had to trudge back to their nest in the medicine cat den before it even got cold.

Ploverspeck's leg was injured in a twoleg trap.

Honeymurk has recovered from whitecough and hurries to take care of the sudden influx of sick and injured cats.

Sharphare is expecting kits!

Riversand has borne a single kit named Beetlekit.

Sloepelt also had a single kit! They name them Sardinekit.

Hyacinthquill has brought to camp four kits of unknown origin. Thunderkit, Conchkit, Quillkit, and Tumblekit.

Pheasantpaw and Sablepaw have become warriors! Pheasantsea in honor of their wit and Sabletooth in celebration of their grace.

Pumpkinpaw's leg was injured by a twoleg trap.

Barnaclepaw died because of their infected wound.

Hemlockpelt has lost both their mate and their kit.

Crestpaw and Emberpaw have become apprentices under Pepperbuzz and Eggsong.

Splashtooth's leg is feeling better.

Riversand has healed from their snake bite.

Dewpaw's chest is feeling lighter.

Erminedapple was captured by twolegs and taken away!

Sleekrun's snake bite has healed up well.

Saltears no longer has greencough.

Crookedbracken has injured their leg in a twoleg trap.

Swiftspark's tail has recovered without issue.

Sungill has been pacing nonstop outside the nursery. Anxiously waiting for Freezespots to finish up with Sharphare's kitting. They desperately want to know that their mate is alright and are looking forward to meeting their kits. Freezespots eventually pads out of the den and gives them a gentle nod. Sungill rushes in to greet a tired Sharphare and their five new kits. Together they name them Buzzardkit, Eaglekit, Plumkit, Weedkit, and Sporekit.

Busheye is no longer coughing and wheezing up a storm.

Riverfin skillfully saved Crestpaw from a fox. They weren't even hurt during the fight!

Dewpaw, Runningpaw, Pumpkinpaw, and Molepaw have all become full warriors of Starlingclan! Dewspots is honored for their passion, Runningcrest is honored for their realism, Pumpkindapple is honored for their charisma, and Moletangle is honored for their courage.

Heavydawn got a few scrapes from a small dog.

Sleekrun's whitecough is gone.

Hawkbit and Pigeonfleck have joined the elders!

Oddspots has healed from their talon wound.

Coalmark has brought a single kit to the clan. They name the kit Shadowkit.

Ploverspeck's leg has healed.

Nimblerise has brought four kits back to camp. Lightkit, Squidkit, Moonkit, and Brindlekit.

Heavydawn's scrapes have healed.

Blizardpaw has become Blizzardspots in honor of their stealth.

Sporekit was almost carried off by an osprey but was saved by Sloepelt. They were carried to the medicine den for their injuries.

Allegiances

(As of 30 moons)

Leader: Boughstar. 128 moons old tom. Tan and brown speckled pelt, with pale green eyes. A wise leader and overall very good at his job.

Deputy: Wispstripe. 67 moon old female, with gorgeous long fur. Mostly silver tabby, but has an orange splotch on her face and tail that are just as beautiful. Very responsible, and tends to the camp well despite her own tendencies for adventure.

Medicine cat: Oatfalcon. 139 moons old tom. A strict cat, but mostly well loved by his clan. He tends to be close with the more danger-prone cats.

Warriors:

Fritosquid, former loner. 110 moons. Female, with a gray rosette pelt and grumpy disposition. Despite her attitude, she actually gets along pretty well in her new clan.

Buzzardpuddle. 67 moons, female. Has long gray fur with sparse markings on her face and tail. She's Wispstripe's sister, although they aren't very close. Despite her compassionate nature, she tends to clash with Oatfalcon for being too harsh on his patients. When Boughstar became leader, he debated between Buzzardpuddle and her sister as to who would be deputy.

Perchtooth. 40 moons old she-cat with a pale tortoishell pelt. The first apprentice to be given her warrior name under Boughstar, Perchtooth is a respectable cat. She mentored Barnaclepaw before she joined Starclan.

Foggywhisker, 25 moons old tom with an orange tabby pelt. Whispstripe's only surviving child. She adopted his litter in the early days of the clan after their mother, a loner, died while they were young. Whispstripe took good care of them, but they both died serving their clan. Foggywhisker and his mother carry that grief.

Eaglegaze. 17 moons, male. Has a mostly gray ticked pelt, but his middle is all white, like an oreo. One of two kits that joined the clan with Webby, a loner. Eaglegaze has always been a bit distant from his clanmates, but he loves his brother and is slowly making connections with others.

Seapath. 17 moons, male. Almost purely white, with a gray patch covering his left eye. Only became a warrior this moon, despite their littermate Eaglegaze having his ceremony two moons before. Seapath spent a long time in the medicine den mourning the death of his mother, Webby, which delayed his training.

Elders:

Teddie, formerly a kittypet on a houseboat. 143 moons old, with a gray coat covered in dark, swirling stripes. Teddie is a peaceful old tom, and likes to help settle disagreements (usually between Oatfalcon and Buzzardpuddle). If he tends to favor the medicine cat, well, that's nobody's business but his own.

Brookprance, 129 moons old tom. Has a silver pelt with sleek stripes, and icy blue eyes. He's a fantastic storyteller and has a special talent for gathering younger cats nearby to share (mostly) true stories with. Even if the older members of the clan are less taken with his tall tales, they all care deeply for him.

Salmonweb, formerly of Peakclan. 124 moons old female with a coat that swirls between being brown, gray, black, and white. She's very strong-willed, and refuses to talk about her time in Peakclan, but she hasn't caused any trouble for Lichenclan. Yet. Some cats are still suspicious of her, but oddly enough she's quite close to Eaglegaze. Perhaps she's been taking care of him in Webby's abscence.

There are currently no cats in the nursery.

Lost: Eldermoss. 20 moons old tom, with a light gray pelt and a single dark stripe that runs down his back. The son of Brookprance and Storkpoppy, a she-cat who joined Starclan many moons ago. He was a brave and skilled hunter, but while out on patrol he was captured by twolegs. The clan as a whold awaits his return.

Starclan:

Brushfur: a young tom with white fur covered in tan splotches. Prior to his death fighting a fox, he mentored Foggywhisker and had some flirtations with Whispstripe.

Gardeniaspeck: Whispstripe's adopted son, littermates with Foggywhisker. Had ruddy brown fur with a few stripes in a darker color. On one of his first patrols as a warrior, he was swept away in floodwaters and died.

Barnaclepaw: Whispstripe's adopted daughter. She had a tan pelt, with a color-point pattern. Barnaclepaw was very devoted to her clan, and died saving Seakit from a snake.

Smokeyfern: the mother of Whispstripe and Buzzardpuddle. The dark gray swirls in her pelt leave no doubt about her relationship with Whispstripe, but she never favored Buzzardpuddle any less. Smokeyfern died bravely, defending the camp from a fox.

Storkpoppy: A pure black she-cat, who had moved to the elder's den shortly before her death. Storkpoppy was playful and good with kits, but had a habit of being injured on patrols. She died of an infected wound from a dog.

Webby: previously a loner, Webby followed a Starclan cat to Lichenclan with her kits. She looked so similar to Seapath, sometime he still sees his mother in his own reflection. Webby died of Greencough before she had the chance to see her children become warriors.

Karkinoshaze, a very elderly cat that joined the clan after being saved from twolegs. They escaped with a broken back, but alive. The clan seemed to rally around its clever new member, but soon after they joined, Karkinoshaze succumbed to their injury.

Sagepaw: the Starclan guide. Sagepaw was dead long before Boughstar became leader.

Other clans: Mossclan, Basilclan, and Peakclan. There haven't been any major disputes, but Basilclan and Lichenclan share a long border and Basilclan has a history of nosy apprentices forgetting where the borders lie. Most encounters are peaceful.
