To me, BAPLS is just a continuation of BAP because it pretty much has everything the og has, it’s just more refined or whatever. I’m 76% sure BAPLS is a reboot, but I’m calling it a continuation because it goes further into depth about Bee’s relationships outside of PuppyCat, Deckard, Cas, and Cardamon, and started to include the rest of the Wizard family. Regardless, I’ll be referring to it as “the continuation.”

Moving on.

There’s something so… charming about BAP. Maybe it’s the fact that Bee sings “My guts, my guts,” or screams, “I have, uh, stuff for your stuff! I got you some ice for your crotch! I’m shoving the crotch ice under the door!”

Or maybe it’s Bee’s face in part one.

Maybe it’s just me, but there’s something so mythical and mysterious about BAP (and I watched it all at once 😗). PuppyCat’s Lullaby in part two also emphasizes that point! It doesn’t SHOW you what the Space Outlaw turned into, it just says that he turned into a monster, and at least a good chunk of people will assume that the monster is some awful creature like the one that pops up in the next couple of frames. But only at the END of the part do you see what he became.

(I legitimately went like, “OH SHIT,” and continued to binge)

And no, this is not just me going on a tangent about how great BAP is. Although BAPLS isn’t quite as charming as BAP, I still enjoyed it and it was fun to watch after episode four! You REALLY dig deep into everyone else’s character. (I also like how episode four blended Bee’s birthday episode w/ the Donut episode. Two birds with one stone.)

I love how it builds to the original story line. I mean, that monster from BAP part 2 that I COMPLETELY forgot about? DUDE CAME BACK!! After basically blending and redoing and reanimating past episodes from the OG (like episode 1 and 3 and specifically those two) it really develops its own identity.

I mean, the “canon” age of Bee is 22, but like, we all know that’s not true if she’s freaking took care of Deckard as a BABY.

Bee also grows [not literally ofc] throughout the series, and if you look back at BAP, you can see why people thought she was immature in the first place. There’s still times where she’s childish and what not, but that’s what’s great about it.

Then there’s the endings! Both pretty much leave the viewer to think about what happened next and feel incredibly finite at the same time.

They’re both so good, I almost can’t choose!
